Adding a variety of herbs, spices, nuts and seeds will also bring your diet into balance and aid digestion to provide the greatest use of nutrients from the foods we eat. Then it tonifies the yang aspect of the spleen and kidneys to bring about a long-term increase in the body’s basic metabolism, or its ability to maintain the heat needed for proper digestion, which is known in traditional Chinese medicine as life-gate (metabolic) fire. According to this theory, disease and other emotional, mental, and physical health problems develop when the flow of qi is blocked, weak, or excessive.

Thank you for explaining. This was lovely. i especially found the bone broth bit informative.
Celery Juice also helps so much with constipation and gas buildup ❤ I start my day with 16 ounces of freshly made celery, juiced. It really helps my day go better after I eat other foods:)
Thankyou so much for this! I’m doing my best to heal and strengthen after much illness depletion and weakness. I’ve tried Raw Vegan in desperation to heal (the living food/enzyme philosophy sounded convincing) gotten some relief from symptoms but ultimately weak from it and now am forced to eat warm soups again. I don’t eat meat and have been unsure about bone broth as am vegetarian but after listening to this I feel it can be a good thing as I am very malnourished and need all the help possible. Thanks very much for the good tips!
I have MS like symptoms and at the moment i do Intermitten fasting and stop eating rawfoods and more Rice and Vegetables a few nuts and maby some bone broth and vegetable juice. I now start to eat just the amount of food i need (cronometer) I also do a lot of other stuff like sublements and heavymetal detox. I will do this qi gong move in the morning now. Thanks
so… what happens when i have like half of the symptoms/things from the first category he mentioned, and half from the other…
my issue is bloating, severe constipation, (ibs). i guess i digest slowly, feels like not much at all is happening, depending on the day and my mood, i have no appetite and barely eat, or have the biggest appetite ever and want to eat all day. also feels related to feeling safe or unsafe (unsafe = more wanting to eat to ground myself etc).. it’s otherwise not consistent. I’ve had this issue for years and used to only want hot foods, but now i have this issue and don’t want any warm foods at all and feel to eat all raw, or, non warm snacks.. i had a thing with non warm naan bread recently that my insides hated me for as i just felt drugged from it. so even if i eat cooked food (which doesn’t ever go well), it’s room temp. I have had a severe addiction for sweet foods most of my life, but now, i just enjoy them, and it’s fruit. it’s not a craving anymore since i went to mainly raw and stopped eating processed sugar etc. I don’t crave anything really.. after i did some fasting.. now i just enjoy, sweet and salty foods literally the same amount. (chocolate covered pretzels were a big thing for me before..). so yeah it feels… equally both things…??? I feel that bloated, heaviness, on some days like i said,i could eat all day, i think maybe i don’t because im just so constipated and don’t wanna get more backed up.. i have all the trouble ever, sleeping.. i used to eat all day but i went off it kuz of severe ibs cramps. im definitely hungry tho… lol. my insides are so confused:’)…
ps i really love the movement / qi gong. it felt really nice. i feel energy / my subtle senses are awakened/ activated so i felt all that energy in and around me, moving around, it felt nice:) <3 thanks so much ^_^
I recently got into qi gong and I really like it. I have slow metabolism or deficient digestion as you may say. I will try everything out from this video along with other advices that I can find and will return with a feedback.
I got into fitness three years ago and now I exercise at home. I enjoy long walks and sometimes I can’t workout as frequent as I can because of the nature of my job. But physical activity greatly influences my digestion in a positive way.
sir I have all symptoms of deficient digestion except I suffer from constipation not diarrhoea. does that means I have deficient or else

A neglected cause of UTI (and HA INFECTION).
*FECAL DUST: It comes from fecal residue, left after wiping with t. paper (complete or, worse of course, incomplete). Through drying and friction it turns out to dust and through air it travels to, at first stage, the uro-genital organs, causing UTI, and later to all house surfaces. That explains the high rates of UTI cases and the inadequacy of the known advise by Drs: “wipe front to back”. The best answer is a VERTICAL JET BIDET.

I went to the Chinese medicine doctor 3 times for my uti and it didn’t help
Thank you. We have the same interests. Eat mindfully and apply some acupoints to re balance your digestion.

Think of it this way,
What is your body made up of? Atoms. Atoms are positively(yin) and negatively(yang) charged particles that create the basis of life. The positively charged particle is in the nucleus of the atom whereas the electron orbits and can transfer between roughly estimated valence shells. Atoms interact with other atoms that then bring us here. In order to fix our problems, we must first break them into their smallest pieces, which in this case is the atom.
Similarly to how a car would run totally off when the alternator starts acting funny, which generates electricity by increasing sub-atomic particle collisions aka electrons and protons.
Long story short, energies do exist. Acupuncture is the tool used to release the energy blockage.
Have you ever walked into a room and just felt heavy energy? You’re not wrong! You can quite literally feel another person’ energy as it is directly interacting with the atomic particles in the air that then eventually reach you and interact with your energy levels.
Still not convinced energy levels exist? It’s our hidden 6th sense-hence why we feel uneasy around certain people or oddly calm around others with no explanation.
You can only imagine what Wifi is doing to our energy channels.
Keep questioning everything around you.
My closest local supermarkets have no yang foods and it’s just so annoying, raspberries are the only thing I could find.
Do you have any tips for pregnant women? My mom says eating foods that are too acidic can be harmful to the embryo.
This is a real phenomenon. Each lots of bacon and fried chicken and your always feel thirsty even after drinking water. Eat melons and drink Chrysanthemum tea to get the feeling in your mouth back to normal.
Hi Mia, can you please make a video about semi permanent hair extensions, I want to get them done but I don’t know much about it!
apparently I only eat ying foods! everything makes sense now omg
养生make you look younger, longer, healther.as a chinese, dont you think it is 迷信?
That’s what my mother says. Up fire, well she said it in Chinese (obviously)
Would you please post the lists of Yin/Yang foods you had scrolling on your video? Thank you, in advance!
In astrology, to be honest with you the moon is the Yang and the sun is the Yin. A good example for this is, Cancer the crab which the moon is their ruling planet of with feminine energy. While the sun is being ruled by the lemean Lion Leo being the yin because Leo the lion is like the lion king.
thank you. its simple but useful introduction about ying and yang food for beginners. tks for sharing!
I eat more ying foods than yang foods. But, I snack on yang foods…
too me at best any list of foods like this just looks like gibberish because i can’t find any kind of definite source. in fact sometimes i find contradicting information.
you mention acid/alkaline foods in western study. is there a definite thing like that in determining yin or yang in the food?
Hello.
I’m looking for info on (Cooling foods) meal plan. I know I’m carrying heat in my throat and chest. I do see an acupuncturist, once she put points in my kidney area, the heat was gone in minutes and I could breathe again. I have been going through this since March. I would like some direction of cooling foods to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and what to drink to help my body. Any info would be greatly appreciated! ✌
What about in the winter when your body gets cold and you get dry lips? Wouldn’t that be more Yin energy?
Thanks for this video. Really love it. New knowledge gain.. Hope, more videos to come.:):) BTW, Mia you’re so gorgeous. I’m your number 1 fan.
OMG YAS, My mom says Sháng Huô(*not correct accent) more than I love you lol it’s normal though. Im chinese…
Was there anything similar to this philosophy in the West before the emergence of modern Western medicine? I think it was Hippocrates that said ‘let food be medicine and medicine be food’…
Have you any more videos on this?
I’ve been fascinated with this practice ever since I bought my first Chinese cookbook which had a whole section on heating/cooling.
So different articles say different things, so I don’t know which is right
This is very interesting! What about people who have symptoms of both yin and yang? Like cold hands and feet, but also break outs at the same time… what would you recommend in such a case?
Hey, I really love your channel! I wanna ask, what if my body shows that I’m a yang but based on your lip color video, I have grey lip liner and have to avoid yin foods. I’m a bit confused what I should eat to balance my body. Thanks!
I got cold easily and dry lips, should I eat more yin or yang food?
m kse thik kru yin and yang plz tell me proper diet for this
Is Yin and Yang a religion? I’ve been doing a bit of research, and I really want to find out about it, and maybe start learning about it. Love your videos btw x
why do i have chapped lips, acne, anger (i literally get angry at small things), frustration, sore throat and dry skin but i always eat yin foods? like fish (fish is my fav food), vegetables (celery is my fav veg.) fruit (lemon is my fav fruit), and etc.
Thanks for you videos I always find them really informative and and interesting. I love to watch your channel. What is the term for yin and yang food known by in Chinese?
finally someone helps me to explain the “hot” and “cold” food…yeay!
i really had a hard time to explain this to my friend, especially when they are sick and ask me suggestion on food/remedy
thx mia
could not have explained this better myself! i am chinese as well and was looking for a better way to understand Yin & Yang because we apply it to many things!
In addition, I think there are foods that occupy a relative neutral spot on this dichotomy. And others which are neither strongly hot or cold, maybe just mildly warm or cold. They fall somewhere in the middle of this continuum.
so why do i have acne and cold hands and feet at the same time?
I am very confuse now…. Am I balanced? I always have breakouts, sore throats, and chapped lips. Which means too much Yang food. However on the other hand, I always have cold hands and feet, and hypersensitivity. Which means too much yin food. So… I am very confuse. Am I balanced? Or too much yin? Or too much yang?
Hey,
Can somebody tell me where I can learn more about those ancient chinese medicine things like yin and yang foods or the pressure points, which Mia also mentions in some of her videos? Can somebody recommend a book?
Thanks:)
(and sorry for my english:P)
I am soo confused/mindblown because when you eat too many Yang foods you get chapped lips, dry skin, break outs, sore throat and thats just like me but when you eat too much Yin foods it is also just like me…. cold hands and feet, stomach pains, hyper sensitivity and nervousness so I am the negative of Yin and Yang!
My body yin and yang at the same time… What should I do to maintain the balance???
omg! Whenever I get an ulcer in my mouth my parents tell me that我上火了!Then they say I need to eat more fruit, i need to sleep more, I need to blah blah blah..
I’ve been subscribing to lots of beauty channels and yours by far is the best! You deserve way more subscribers (: Glad I found you
I have been having a stomach ache for 3 days now, noting that im recovering from a surgery, removed my tonsils:(, and i can only cold drinks and eat cold food:(, is there anyway that i can balance what im eating with out having to eat heated food??
Do any of you know the program she used to make the drawings?
I love chips candy. Steaks. Rice. Etc and hate veggies… my body is very warm/hot and i got nose bleed like 30 minutes daily for the past 4 days… I got sensitive skin such as minor psoriasis breakout in the back neck and often frustrated nowadays such as how to do things at school and choosing stuff such as what to play (games) and which muscle groups to train etc… I dont know whats wrong! I fit it neither Ying or Yang category… help?
im definitely eating mostly yin food. makes sense for all the medical problems ive been having
hi Mia have been subscribed to your channel since last year…..i’m also from shanghai, china:D hmmm so i already knew ying and yang or cold and hot food lol
I’ve always wondered about this and heard of a pressure point that tells you something about this.
How often is this recommended to be done for someone with reflux?
What about meats? like chicken and turkey. would that be heat foods?
Wow! This is VERY informative, yet confusing. I believe it all to be true. Is have to watch this video 500 more times for this info to really stick. Thanks for sharing:)
Probably something you have been asked but should girls then eat more yang foods to balance the yin out an visa versa for men?
Very interesting. I like this video! More on the subject in a future video i hope:)
My Chinese herbalist to my whole family except me because he didn’t check me because i didn’t btw he said to my family that they have a hot body but i think i have a cold body because the rest of my family had the symtoms of a hot body but i have symtom of a colder body is that normal.
just to clarify for you Mia =), orange (the round and big one) is yin and mandarin orange/ tangerine is yang; for those who are having a cold/sore throat, don’t eat too much mandarin oranges!!
I always look forward to your videos Mia! so informative & helpful:D I always know when I’m consuming to much yang foods but this definitely helps
(btw looking good with black hair)
Do you use 中药?If so, would you recommend it? What’s are your experiences with it? Is it effective?
Finally someone who understands old Chinese medicine theories! So helpful, thanks Mia!
Mia! I just noticed you have a micky-mouse-hairline like I do. Could you please make a video about styling tips? I recently got a fringe and it goes up all the time because of my silly hairline, and in general I struggle with choosing hairstyles and styling my hair because of it. Thank you in advance, this would be sooo helpfull!
