Hill Walking High-Intensity Intervals. One easy interval workout is done by speed walking up a hill, then slowly coming down. Repeat the hill up and down, without rest, for 15 minutes. Speed will be relative but aim for a speed that leaves you breathing very hard by the top of the hill.
Before you start striding, take some time to boost blood flow and activate the muscles you’ll use while walking, like hip flexors and quads, recommends Kristine Theodore, coach and.If you walk outdoors, aim to walk uphill for part or all of your walk. If you walk indoors, add stairs or an incline on a treadmill to your walk to increase the intensity of your workout. Try the following to increase the intensity of your runs: Run hills or stairs. Find a new, hilly route or increase the incline on the treadmill; however, an even better way to increase intensity is by running stairs. Find a stadium with bleachers or a park with stairs.
Here are three ways you can increase the intensity of your walking workouts: Find a hill: Walking uphill does not increase your speed; it just makes it much more difficult to do. It taxes your leg.Here’s how to get more out of your walking workouts and to vary your routine: Try to walk briskly for at least half an hour every day, or one hour four times a week. If you weigh 150 pounds, walking at 3.5 miles an hour on flat terrain burns about 300 calories per hour.
The workout: Start with 4 minutes of easy walking. Then pick up your pace to a moderate intensity and do the first exercise for 25 reps. When you’re finished, drape the resistance band around your.
During a high-energy walk, you want your target heart rate to be at 75 to 95 percent of your maximum heart rate. Take your heart rate after you’ve been working out for at least 5 minutes. If you are exercising 30 minutes or more, take your heart rate every 15 to 20 minutes.Get at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity — such as brisk walking, swimming or mowing the lawn — or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity — such as running or aerobic dancing. Dear Leslie, you are a God-send. I start walking grumbling the whole time. And it takes only a minute or two to find myself with a huge smile on my face. Stays there the whole workout. I do a 2 mile and then find that I have the energy for another boosted walk ( 15 min) and then the stretches. 1000 times more helpful than a anti-depressant if you ask me. Thank you again.

Was going on a jog, then found out it was raining. Decided to warm up to a video and do some glutes, legs, and lower back exercise. Saw this video and gave it a shot. 20mins went by so fast. It was very fun. Easy on the joints too! I know this was posted last year, just sad that the instructor voice was distant. Subtitles did not help! haha.

I’m a fit 67 year old and been doing aerobics and dancing since in my 20’s. Now that I’m older I don’t like to do any high impact and my dancing is line dancing which I do 2-3 times a week. I started Keto diet 3 weeks ago and hope to lose 100 pounds (starting at 260). Your videos have kept me from adding more and given me more energy to keep going during this pandemic! Confused??? How is this considered a HIIT workout? HIIT is a combination of brief, very-high intensity bursts of cardio exercise followed by equal or longer periods of rest. You don’t push hard and then rest… bringing your heart rate up quickly and then back down to rest before doing another burst…you just keep going and going. This defeats the purpose of HIIT workouts and their benefits.
