The left hand forms Simhamukha Mudra, the lion’s-face gesture, with the thumb and little finger pointing up. Meanwhile, the index, middle, and ring fingers point toward the face. The right hand is in Sukachanchu Mudra with all fingers circled like a wheel—the thumb and middle fingers touching.
Pushan Mudra involves two different gestures in both hands. Therefore, It is necessary to do it one by one. Come into any seated comfortable posture like Padmasana (Lotus Pose), or Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose). From the left hand, Touch the tips of the middle and ring finger to the tip of the thumb and maintain the posture.
In the practice of Yoga, you are encouraged to use your body in many ways, but ultimately with the intention of drawing yourself inward. Mudras are powerful tools for accomplishing this. The term mudra applies to the use of hand gestures during meditation that carry specific goals of channeling your body’s energy flow.
Yoga Mudras or hand Gestures are additional hand movements which help in yoga posture and aid in gaining extra benefits from the yogic postures. Mainly these yogic mudras are practiced in sitting yoga poses like Lotus posture. You can use these mudras with pranayama (breathing practice) and yoga postures both with ease.

Can anyone practise these mudras? I mean senior citizens? You are prescribing sitting first in Vajrasana and then go about the procedure. How about the ones who are disabled from sitting in Padmasana or vajrasana due to hip replacement, knee replacement or surgery for fracture of lower or upper limbs?
Can such persons also practise these mudras sitting comfortably in a chair or while lying on the bed in a supine posture? A clarification on this benefits a great multitude of people with limitations.

I had a beautiful elephant goddess show me these gestures in a vision. Turns out she’s vinayaki and the gestures were mudras (how Gods and goddesses talk). The Hindu belief system is amazing there is so much to it and I’ll never take anything for granted from the non marterial world ever again! ❤️

I have a problem with my index and thumb on my right hand. My thumb bends my index but not the other way around. Will that have any impact when forming a mudra?

Hi, which mudra is good for slow heat rate, but is not anxiety. Kind of I have a lot energy inside and my heart rate increase and become very uncomfortable.

I was more than disappointed once I dug through your channel and didn’t find the video with more in-depth explanations on mudras. It’s been 21 months since you uploaded this video with no follow-up.
I was hoping for an explanation that would provide me the necessary framework to know WHY I’m doing this or that mudra. Let’s eliminate the mudra focus entirely. I wanted to know the foundational principles so I can discern how I should shape my hands based on awareness of my environment. I’m interested in building foundational knowledge so I can ASSUME or GUESS how shaping my hands this way or that way would be beneficial. As an example… “Oh, I’ve got dry skin? Let’s connect the pinky to my thumb to help balance that.” Another one could be maybe I’m experiencing IBS and want to alleviate that. How about “My head is foggy, so let’s connect my pinky, middle finger, and thumb.
After you said our fingers are like frets on a guitar, a new question appeared within my mind. “How do I know how to adjust my finger placement based upon this information?”
What I DON’T want is someone showing me basic mudras and why I should be using those mudras. I want to know why each finger is important and their general uses so I can make accurate assumptions. If you won’t make it, I will on my professional youtube channel after I’ve gained the appropriate knowledge myself.

This was really great i would have liked to know just a little bit more (i’ll explain) What you said about the breathing Fantastic -I am so glad i stumbled upon this I have started doing EFT tapping for health issues, and i am also doing some internal therapy which requires me to go into a reasonably deep meditative state The EFT revealed that my asthma is from a childhood trauma so i will be going into a meditative state with another therapy to clear the trauma. Some of the advanced tapping involves spots on the finger tips (not the ring finger interestingly ) This is helpful
