I had a question that the highest VO2 max recorded is 96ml/kg/min according to that the MET would be 27.4 and ACE (American Council On Exercise) suggests that MET >9 as vigorous intensity which would be only about 35ml/Kg/min of VO2 max.. would that be challenging enough to stimulate training effect and improvement in VO2 max for a sportsperson?

Great question! I’m sorry if we weren’t clear enough. Heart Rate is not the determining factor when it comes to someone wanting to lose weight. Which is what you are likely referring to. However, your hear rate IS a factor after you’ve done this type of testing so you can work in your 3-4 training zones. Each zone you sustain a particular heart rate. It’s just a way to measure progress really.
