7 minutes are not sufficient. If you have read the paper, the 7 minutes must be repeated 3 times (total 21 minutes).

The push upsfor me are the murder cause I use a 12.19 lb weight set and 6 2.5 lb rice packs its really heavy

Is your beginner training package (Level 1-5) circuit training or do you complete several sets on one exercise before moving to the next one?
I go to college and there’s a free gym but there’s no pull up bar there and there’s no way to do pull ups in my dorm. And obviously if I hang one in my room I’ll have to pay a fee for “property damage”. Any alternatives I can do for pull ups?

A good video overall. I appreciate the lack of music and all the bells to transition from rest to exercise and back. I wish the pictures were the photos of guy from the original research paper and not the drawings, but hey…these work. Mostly, I request a little ding halfway through the side plank (at 15 sec), so I time rotating to the other side better. Thanks for the video! I use it 3x a week.
I applied this to heavy bag training for boxing. It is amazing how it increases the ability to throw punches without gassing. I used a protocol where I would land 2 to 6 punch combos at full force for each strike, then back off and move lightly around the bag for 3 to 6 seconds, and then go again. Work in either 3 or 5 minute rounds, 5 to 12 rounds in total depending on training day.
I am also using this for my weight training e.g. doing dumbbell “punching” floor presses (one arm, two arm simultaneously, or left-rights), depending on the weight used, 3 to 6 punches at a time, going for 3 to 5 minute rounds. Using weight at around 6-8 Rep Max. Same protocol for pull ups and other stuff.
The only “problem” is increased muscle mass! Gone form cruiser to heavyweight in 6 weeks (5 kg weight gain). But also a lot faster and stronger.
Am I applying HICT correctly here? Any advice appreciated.

I used my cast iron pan set. Push ups and planking are noticeably easier after 10 workouts with the backpack. Shoulders will be burning too.

I’m no where near your size and I bang some of this workout with 60 pounds in the pack. Although, I knock down to 40 after the 1st round. makes me wonder if leaner muscle is more condensed.
