Could somebody explain that deficit maintenance thing she explained to me again? I don’t get it? Does this mean I eat at a deficit for two weeks and then suddenly I eat all the food without any deficit and then again a deficit?
I wish I hadn’t tried the super low fat plant based diet. Worse is I did it after coming off keto, so at first I felt so good and I had so much energy, made me take way too long to realize it quickly went downhill. I became starving no matter how much I ate. Started binging on apples and everything else I could get ahold of. Finally got so weak, stopped having a period, constant headache, finally when I felt like I might pass out I got a pizza and ate the whole thing. Bad idea since processed food addatives makes me really sick. But finally here I am, trying to figure out again what to eat. Made complicated by the fact I have a ton of food allergies and have yet to find anything that I could feel healthy eating and give me energy for my active lifestyle while not gaining more weight. I still have a ton of weight to get off too.

Hey, I am doing intermittent fasting for 16-8 ratio where I eat 5 pm last and have breakfast at 9 am and now I want to do omad and also to do workout in fasting period but the problem is I can’t do exercise in fasting mode. at 1:30, also “they need to get to the gym” is another huge myth, which the gym is a good tool but so many people think not having access to a gym is an excuse for not losing weight.

That interval training and weight training is the best way to burn fat, especially as we age. With long rests in between allowing our heart rate to drop between high intensity intervals.

I love bedtime and have had issues staying asleep for about 5 years now i hear everywhere that proper sleep is critical for mind and body health but its not a simple task for me. I love your videos which would probably come as a surprise considering I follow a vegan diet. I am trying to correct my lifestyle after years of junk food veganism to transition to a healthier plant based diet that supports healthy hormone balances and fat burning mode. I am vegan for ethical concerns above everything else so I am not comfortable with moving away from my animal free diet but it’s an increasing struggle to eat in a way that keeps hormones in check while also hitting macro goals. Great video, but this won’t work for everyone. Losing weight is all about lowering the hormone insulin. Some people have higher insulin levels than others. When I started the Ketogenic diet last year and lowered my carb intake, I went from 104 kg to 95 kg, but have been stuck on that weight ever since. It seems I have stubborn high insulin levels. Recently I also try to combine intermitent fasting (or alternate day fasting water fasting) and it seems to work. I STAY around 10-14% bodyfat year long and eat at LEAST one “bean protein meal” DAILY. (An egg white/oats meal, fish/asparagus or broccoli meal and protein powder meal replacement make up my other meals. I’ve had that diet for almost 6 years now. Excellent, I somehow learned these things in my 30’s…but when you hit 60, the metab. slows alot….SO!!! Nowadays, i still avoid the processed junk, but i fast from breakfast until dinner. Right before the gym, I will have a cinamon roll, or muffin(I know, superprocessed)..but then i burn that off in my weight workout…so far i am down to 150 lbs. and my abs are starting to show again!!

This is keto diet to the extreme. Most avg. people do well with 150 net carbs daily to lose body fat. That’s 2 lbs/ week. The info on insulin resistance is spot on. Carb cycling is the key to lose fat safely. Just to give folks an idea of carb range. A medium banana is around 80 carbs. 25 carb limit daily is a difficult target for a beginner. Hi hope you answer I sleep really late like around 3am and wake up 1pm and I do IF 20-4 and eat at 2pm-6pm and then around 7pm I do a HIT work out for 23-30 min then after that I walk on treadmill for 60min around 9pm all this while fasting…. I think this video is very educational if your smart enough for it. Maybe for all those that didn’t understand he should have said that the cup represents the amount of energy for a typical person. Someone who is extremely inactive would have a cup more the size of a shot glass where as someone who is extremely active like a body builder or pro athletes their cup would be more like a big gulp. However these more active body conscience people probably don’t eat empty carbs like cinnamon rolls
I just can’t seem to find a proper meal plan. Can you firstly tell me how many carbs should I consume daily? At the moment I consume about maximum 90g. I do intermittent fasting, not OMAD because on OMAD I am unable to consume enough calories. Articles are scaring me that if I don’t eat 1000 calories a day then I will gain weight. But man I was fit like fit, not just muscular n trim but like fit to the point were It coulda cracked off and i would fight for the whole time even with tier gas n all. Now im out here n I’ve gained some weight lost some muscle and my cardio is down! And I have really no stress! I eat better, sleep better etc. Ironic huh?

I’ve been fasting 20 to 21 hours per day for a month. Lost 4 kg. About 10 lbs. But the difference in how my clothes fit is jaw dropping! I have been a bit carby during the eating window which may be the reason why it’s just 10 pounds. I’m satisfied with it no matter what. It’s not even a question or debate anymore, so dont get the wrong idea and sunbathe under UV11 for hours for some Vitamin D. Some countries have crazy UV indexes so it’s always good to check yours, and in countries with a high UV index try to avoid being exposed in the sun during peak hours or wear at least SPF 30 if you must (it won’t stop you from getting your Vitamin D). That way you’ll be protecting your fit bod from age sunspots and wrinkles too xx

Meat is foreign to our bodies. If we didn’t season and cook meat, we wouldn’t eat it. That is why animals like lions, tigers etc, can eat meat, because they got the teeth, they got the digestive system and they eat it raw. Just saying. Eating meat is not natural, although myself eats shrimp and tuna. I don’t eat much turkey or chicken because it disgusts me.

You are like Eric Berg. He too wants people to do some off the wall shit with specific timing and shit like that. He thinks that as long as you eat 10 cups of vegetables daily everything will work out. LOL If I eat vegetables I get diarrhea and my blood sugar goes nuts. You have the right idea about having to deplete glycogen but that is best done by intermittent fasting and/or a LCHF diet. Insulin is the master hormone, control insulin and the weight will fall off.

I really can’t cut on carbs I’ve been in keto before and I seriously missed my potatoes
But… I am vegan for weight loss purposes and I have meat/chicken once a month. I always eat whole foods, potatoes are essential for me I am still loosing weight. I do alt fasting as well, one day of full eating and then 30-40 hours of fasting if I am tired or I can’t continue I do omad. I think it all depends on how you’re body takes things do you need sometime to figure out things but you’ll get there. Trust me!

In high school I became OBSESSED with Kirklands Green tea with macha and drank it every night, thru the night, and when I woke up if any was left. I lost so much weight my family became concerned I was starving myself and I really wasn’t I just assumed it was being depressed all the time. I didn’t even realize till years later green tea can really aid in boosting your metabolism A LOT and I think drinking it before bed helped keep my body burning a lot of calories while I slept. This is all very complicated. In order to lose fat your insulin levels need to be low. They are low when you are asleep or not eating, that’s why the best way to lose fat without exercising is intermittent fasting. You need to NOT EAT FOR AT LEAST 12hrs or more. 16 hrs seem to be quite popular, but you can even go to 18 or 20hrs. My eating window is usually 1-4 hrs. I was not overweight and I lost 7kg in less than a month skipping breakfast and then eating 1 or 2 meals. Intermittent fasting unlike other diets speeds up your metabolism as well. Insulin is a fat storing hormone that everybody produces. It spikes especially high after consuming carbs, that’s why keto diet also works quite well to lose weight as it is based on fat and protein. I find keto too complicated to bother with and I want to eat carbs that’s why I am happy doing intermittent fasting. No calorie counting, no complications, it is cheap as you have less meals to buy and preapare and the meals I do eat are sumpcious and filling: I still eat meat, fish, fat and carbs as veg and fruits and even ocassional bread and rice.

I am tired of reading that being ketonic is “like starving” or “it makes your body think it’s starving” or is what happens when you are “starving.” That is a characterization that limits thought, use and inquiry. (As an aside I ride a recumbent trike, a Catrike Expedition. It is a superior human-powered machine. It is immensely better than the common two-wheeled upright bikes. Yet what do bicyclists say of recumbent trikes? They are for the old and injured. That mind set — that definition — totally mischaracterizes them, eliminates any more consideration, and limits scope and understanding. It also causes them to issue all kinds of warnings about ketosis because… well… it’s like starving and we all know that is bad for you…

A single glycogen molecule bonds with multiple water molecules. When glycogen depletes, the water goes with it. Water has mass, weight goes down. No fat has been burned yet. Don’t lie to people grandpa.

So I have a question with #2 Doing Mini Cut Cycles. So lets say my maintenance calories is 2000 per day, and I want to try to lose one pound of fat per week. So during the weeks of my cut cycle, I go down to 1500 calories per day. What my question is, is for the entire time until I reach my goal weight, will my maintenance week calories be 2000 per day and my cut weeks be 1500 calories per day, or as I lose weight, will those numbers go down a little each week?

All right, i agree about low carbs diet, but, tath is only the half part of the explanation how to switch on fat burnings process in the body by training people!!! Because by such low carbs diet if the exercises are in anaerobic regime the body will not use fat as fuel, bcos anaerobic process need more powerfull fuell than fat is, by anaerobic process the body will use carbs as fuel, but, trough low carbs diet carbs fuel will be not enough as quantity, then the body switch on to burn proteins(muscle) as fuel. So, you must explane us the other half of the explanation how to switch on the aerobical biochemical process to use the fat as fuel. Exercises, sets, duration of set, heavy or lightweights, or without weights, please. This low carbs diet + aerobical biochemical process can be a good combination. Thank you in advance.

I have a slow metabolism and I’m eating only 1600 calories to lose weight, but it actually stays the same. So Now I want to go up in my calories so I can get out of this vicious cycle. You say increase the calories by a 100-200 a months. Okay. But how long do I do that? Like how do I know ” the amount of calories I eat now are enough to fix my problem” because as soon as I increase calories I’ll gain weight. And the more I go up the more I’ll gain. And when should I start cutting the calories again to lose fat?
Also do You recommend a website to calculate the amount of calories I need for maintenance? I’ve used so many different websites and the numbers I get are so different..

1) How long should I stay on the “maintenance” in a month? is 1 week enough?
2) If I can’t eat all the calories needed for my body, can I just eat a little more calories during the “maintenance”?
3) Also, do the calories burned through exercise needs to be added on top of “maintenance” calories?
