Toning shoe companies such as Skechers, Vibram, Reebok, and New Balance pulled their toning shoe models from the market and offered refunds or settlements. The advertising claims that were unsupported by research included that you could burn more calories and tone.Judge Granted Settlement That Resolve Unfounded Skechers Toning Shoe. Consumers who purchased Skechers Shape-Ups and other Skechers toning shoes could soon see refunds, now that a judge has granted preliminary approval to a settlement that resolves charges that the company made unfounded fitness claims in its advertising for the shoes.
The Skechers toning shoe refunds should go.Others who join the class action will receive a $100 refund for each pair of toning shoes they purchased. New Balance’s shoes, which originally retailed for around $100, were introduced in 2010 and advertised as stylish toning shoes that looked like regular sneakers.
The settlement covers Skechers Toning line of shoes purchased between August 1st, 2008, and August 13, 2012. The models covered include: Shape-ups Rocker Bottom Shoes (Shape-ups) Resistance Runner Rocker Bottom Shoes (Resistance Runners) Shape-ups Toners / Trainers and Tone-ups with Podded Outsoles (Podded Sole Shoes).Reebok International Ltd. will refund $25 million to consumers that bought the athletic wear maker’s toning shoes or apparel as part of a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over deceptive advertising, the agency announced Wednesday.
The shoes claimed to provide extra tone and strength to leg and buttock muscles.And, today it announced that it reached a $25 million settlement with Reebok. That money will provide refunds to consumers who bought Reebok toning shoes or toning apparel.

I have been almost killed by a few cars…. can I sue the manufacturers for not only producing something that can cause harm…but for not even going so far as to offer instruction on how to use their product? Every manufacturer should provide not only driver training courses but allow new drivers to try out identical models on a race-track so they can find out how fast they can go before they lose control while in controlled conditions and not while in public putting everybody at risk for their 150 lb lazy asses
So they go in, gather the herd, get a cut of the settlement, the people get pennies, but the lawyers stay fat on dollars.
When you see an advertisement on people talking about a drug settlement, the reason they do that, is because if enough people sign on, they create a fund for all, where the people of the settlement get little.
5 people bring a 10 million case. They win, but their could be hundreds of people that suffered. So instead of split the pot 5 ways, put it in a pot and do a call out for all.
They make a commercial, get hundreds more to sign on, protecting company from future claims against them, Initial lawyers get there fat cut for the five and all the newcomers, remaining is divided among initial 5 and the others, leaving a portion for any future conflicts.
Company get off easy, lawyers make hand over fist, and people suffering get little as possible. Nice system, aye. BTW call this guy, you might get a couple bucks from some odd settlement. This guy has some serious car payments to make. There was a reason they were known as ambulance chasers.
Is it ever recommended to have a customer physically send their product back to you or send directly back to the manufacturer? This video does not seem to address this, I assume the shipping cost back to China is not practical for this to work but curious if anyone does this.

because somebody will attempt to receive a refund after
they broke the product or they will lie that it came broken haha.
So for them, it’s a win-win. They are keeping the money and the goods.

I’m assuming I should have a lot of money behind me cuz how is the customer going to get paid back for the refund isnut easier if I refund them personally or how does that part work? Since I don’t have a chip machine how will they get refunded? U se my own money to give the customer their refund? then wait for the seller / manufacturer to send me my refund since I already gave it to the customer example, they don’t have to wait long?

If the item is $3.76 and you are charging $24.99 for the item. Your suggestion to give a replacement AND refund when the customer only asks for a replacement is fine. But if your cost is 17.99 and you can potentially make a future profit of $7 from the same customer that is not advisable, right?

Funny that everyone keeps copying half-baked return/refund policies but never talks about guarantee of having a “good working product for 2 years” when you ship to the EU. You might want to check EU law about that before you sell to the EU again, as at one point it will catch up.

I have important question!!!
So I import products from aliexpress using oberlo, and after that I go back to oberlo import list where I select a product and there’s a section where I can change things like variants, colour, shipping method etc. So on shipping method I can only select one country and can only choose one method. My question here is that on the shipping method what if I set as USA epacket and then a person from different country buys that product what will happen?? Because obviously shipping rate will be different. How should I handle that!!

Great tutorial! Just a suggestion, I think the legal pages are auto-generated so you don’t have to copy/paste and create again. When linking the menu items, instead of selecting from ‘Pages’, use the ‘Legal’ option at the bottom.
