Emilio Estevez’s “The Way” was inspired by his son, stars his father, is dedicated to his grandfather, and was written and directed by himself. It’s a sweet and sincere family pilgrimage, even if a little too long and obvious. Audiences seeking uplift will find it here.Audience Reviews for The Way Aug 04, 2013 When Daniel (Emilio Estevez, who also wrote, directed and produced) dies on a hike across the Pyrenees, his father Tom (Martin Sheen.
“The Way” is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an American doctor who comes to St. Jean Pied de Port, France to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez ), killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking the Camino de Santiago, also known as.The film took in $110,418 in its U.S. opening weekend; as of February 2012, it had made $4,430,765 (or $4,430,650) domestically (with its widest release in 283 U.S. theaters), and $7,451,541 internationally.
Ultimately, the theatrical performance reached a gross of $11,882,191 and the home market performance an additional gross of $8,127,751, thus the film reached a total gross of $20,009,942. The film has received a “Certified Fresh” rating of 83% on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.Review: Ben Affleck soars in sobering ‘The Way Back,’ an addiction drama with underdog hoop dreams. Ben Affleck shoots, often scores and most importantly slam dunks a.
The film isn’t filled with needle-drops of hit songs. (Similarly, Mark Isham’s score in “Miracle” is such a huge contribution it’s hard to imagine the film without it.) O’Connor does not shy away from the emotion of his films. Instead, he embraces it. “The Way Back” is, essentially, a redemption arc. Jack is weighed down with disappointment.‘The Way Back’ Review: Seeking Redemption on the Basketball Court Ben Affleck stars in this film that has the outward trappings of an inspirational sports drama, but is primarily a recovery movie. At this point, “The Way Back” shifts gears to become a root-for-the-little-guys sports movie a la “Hoosiers.” Even though enrollment at the parochial school is way down and there are only.
Audience Reviews for The Way Back May 03, 2020 Cliche personal redemption-through-sports outing given legs by Ben Affleck’s haunting performance of a guy dragged-through-the-mud.The film looks slick and glossy thanks to some good work with colour and lighting, but the story grows increasingly dull the closer White comes to solving things, and the numerous fights just become repetitive after a while.Unlike many of the movies coming out of the evangelical community, The Way Back doesn’t preach, sermonize, or recruit: It just is. Cunningham is a blue-collar worker living in a community of blue-collar workers. He’s not striving for perfection or even survival; he’s striving to numb the pain.
The Way Back is a gratifying sports movie that is made better than the average by some sadness, some realism, and Ben Affleck’s performance.Review: Ben Affleck triumphs in ‘The Way Back’ with a role that hits close to home Ben Affleck as Jack and Melvin Gregg as Marcus Parrish in “The Way Back.” (Richard Foreman).”The Way” was one of the movies in his list. As an apostate Catholic and unabashed atheist, I wondered whether I would get anything out a movie, where the primary protagonist, Tom Avery, decides to honor his deceased son Daniel, by walking the El Camino de Santiago, a thousand-year.
The Way We Were, produced by Ray Stark and directed by Sydney Pollack from Arthur Laurents’ adaptation of his novel, is a traumatized, painful movie about a.

This movie is just the Lizzie Mguire movie mixed with 50 shades and Taken sprinkled on as a little flavor. Or it’s any Mary-Kate and Ashley movie but for lonley moms about to host their first pure romance party.
The Place Beyond the Pines was so f’ing good. It’s a 3 part movie imo. Very original. Great characters. Dane Dehaan is a fantastic newer actor
Do you know any delays for this movie in Puerto Rico because was on the coming soon slot and then the deleted it
Grace, March is basketball month because of the college basketball championship games. That’s why a March release.
Grace, you could be reviewing the ingredients of car liter and I’m enthralled…
I liked the movie. The music they added was great at points in the movie
I’m just that one weirdo that sees the title and thought of the way back time machine from Peabody and Sherman!!
Why can’t she always look like this?? She looks beautiful here. Simple yet sexy. I hate when she goes crazy with her hair and wears retarded barbie outfits.
This is Ben Affleck’s redemption after his really bad films as Batman.
I just saw it. I was disappointed because i hated the ending due to the fact I was anticipating more of a “sports” movie dnding
It’s basically “A League of their Own” but with basketball. ️
shes so fucking beautiful. the fillers and weight gain are ruining her. she needs to go back to this. i love her and i miss this trish. even he rvoice is diferent
why was she talking like that? but she looks much more prettier! what happenned to her face then
WOW, I’m shocked that this is Trish. What happened to her???
“nope your baby girl’s good she’s going for a swim”
and jump over the railing into the ocean lol
Well I think everyone finds different people beautiful. Somtimes my friends think a chick is hot and pretty and i dont,… well everyone knows what they like.

Doom 2 is my favorite Indian movie which was released in 2006
God does not judge so her cleavage hanging out does not make her anything but confident about her sexuality. Her imperfections does not make her, her. She is stating an OPINION which is her video, if you knit pick on her everything than that is your problem not hers so please stop hating, nothing made you watch her video, click on the X button and keep scrolling huh… LOVE YOU TRISHA!!! Keep on keeping on…
I kept getting an emergency location app advert when watching this
immodesty is also a mortal sin my dear not just abortion!!
Please remove the implants and then do a video, with some clothes on!
Thanks!
honestly, if the movie was better, it would be like killing stalking.
What happened…..she looked beautiful natural and now she just looks….fake
First thought on this film: I respect Affleck for tackling alcoholism especially since it hits so close to home. I know it’s not a must see in theaters, but I’m digging older Affleck more and more; will definitely check it out. I was waiting to hear your thoughts on this one, thanks Grace!
If I ever saw Grace in a movie theatre I’d start crying . She’s so amazing
I actually really wanna see this movie, reminded me of coach carter
Great review man! Definitely going to check this one out. I would love to hear your thoughts on “There Will Be Blood” (2007). Thanks man.
I laughed at the Hormel Chili joke…. I subscribed after the bubble tape reference.
A little above-average, but that is all. Nothing to write home about.
Trisha you should really post more videos on this channel its really inspiring and helpful learning about my religion
Are you in an ad? I keep seeing this ad everywhere for “backbrushboys” and it’s this rubber brush to rid dandruff and one guy in it looks surprisingly just like you. Like nearly exactly.
FUCK you for not putting hunger games catching fire on there
From how they write Laura, it makes me think they wanted to make the opposite of Anastasia and make her a “powerful woman” but it comes off really bad.
This video got at least a dozen solid LOLs, which is extremely rare. Not even just a puff of air out of my nostrils, full on audible laugh.
Thank you. Just purchased the movie The Way [Blu-ray] Cant wait to watch a good catholic movie. the pilgrimage as been going there in Spain now for a thousand years. You are and inspiration God Bless
People live their life the way that they want. i don’t understand why people alays feel like they have to judge. Who care about how she lives her life. Everybody as his own relationship with God. (sorry for my bad english) love you trish
youtube.com/ watch?v=l4K5n-aJ67k
MY dear sister in Christ, PLEASE DRESS MODESTLY.
couldn’t the same argument be made for a murderer, living his life the way he wants to, and however he lives his life is up to him because he has his own relationship with God. Why do laws exist if people should live their life the way they “want”? Careful consideration should be taken in using the word “judgement.” Judgements can be both just and unjust. Me judging a murderers actions as wrong, is not unjust, for it is correct and morally wrong. Be careful in your life philosophies…
I’ve been an Affleck supporter since the early 2000s, and I’m happy to say that the film skirts around any potential cliches and feels very real.
I personally think it should have focused more on the sport of basketball and the team. I think they still should have included the drama with the head coach but not drag it out for so long. Overall I liked the movie but wish we saw more of the team and the coach. (This sounds like I didn’t like the way the movie focuses on the coach and his life. I do and still think that it should focus on him because that is what the movie is about. I think that the movie should have just shown more of him with the team.)
U know how you try to keep ur New Years resolution on Jan 1 then next day you fail all of them. This channel kinda reminds me of that, well st least she tried
If he only liked her because she was his fantasy girl, wouldn’t he be mad she is now blonde?
#1 dont agree with you. Dont get me wrong good movie but yea
Don’t worry. The second movie (book) she gets kidnapped by Massimo’s rival and ends up falling in love with him instead. Lmao. Wish I was kidding…
My most favorite movie from 2013 is the secret life of Walter Mitty
I was in attendance for the Clippers game against the Sixers last Sunday and Ben Affleck was there to promote this film. I saw him and Martin Lawrence was also sitting courtside. Go, Clippers! ⚪⚫>
Kinilig ako sa movie na ito sana may part 2
Hi there sending love from Philippines
Sometimes I find it’s too bad we judge movies based on an award season and miss out on amazing art because of this biased industry.
its made for women that want to spice up their lives, but think porn is a sin
I’m going to see it Wednesday. Literally just to support Ben Affleck, and I just like movies.
Off topic, but gotta say please stop comparing Blade Runner 2049 with Birds of Prey. Blade Runner 2049 is a masterpiece. It just didn’t find a audience.

Yes, Prisioners, when no one even knew who Denis Villneuve was. It’s still incredible!!
I also liked how it was 2 films in 1. But there wasn’t enough movie on the sports side in particular for me, especially since that was how it was advertised. I Connor coulda been a bit bolder toward beginning. Cried a couple times in this, especially in hospital with sister. That hit hard knowing it was based on a real conversation. Star player looked like Shy Baldwin lol
Hey, Grace! Will you react to special look at Man with new scenes and song Loyal, Brave and True?
This does look like a copy of Hoosiers but I’m fine with that. I was worried it’d be a little awkward to watch Ben play a character so close to reality but I’m excited to see it. Thanks for sharing your story. Addiction has taken 2 of my cousins and we need to keep reaching out to people as much as we can
The March release is because of the college basketball tournament “March Madness”.
Ben Affleck deserves an Oscar Nomination for this role! By far his best performance so far!
now what happened to this channel? You created a new vlogging channel and just left this channel for almost 3 years? You said that you were taking a break right? Well, your taking WAYYYY toooo much break. lol
I’d like to see him do more reviews on shows. I really liked Bloodline, and am curious to see what he thought of it.
OMG I’m so glad I came across this. I LOVE this movie, and completely agree with you. My dad and I hope to do the pilgrimmage to Santiago one day. Thank you for posting a review, and I hope others do watch this movie. A life changer for sure. And shame on everyone who comments on her choice of attire, men, etc. You don’t know ultimately what’s in her heart, who are you to judge? Yes, it may be unconventional, but that doesn’t make her any less of a human or Catholic.
Just want to say, after what you mentioned at the endI think it’s really inspiring that you managed to recover from a tough time in your life and told your story to help raise some awareness and show that anyone can be troubled by bad situations. Love the channel and keep up the amazing work:)
FILTH is a real movie about that pushes you in trip, even when you’re sober. But, I don’t reccomend you to watch this masterpiece sober. Have a good day!
This personality no longer exists, she replaced it with thetrashyvlogger
Even though all I knew about this movie was that the main photo of it showed up on my Netflix a few weeks ago and literally nothing else, I knew I was watching your commentary on it! I love how you explain films! Especially bad ones
Never really got into Edgar Wright’s movies. The humor can be too pretentious for me sometimes.
I love the way! my cousin went on the pilgrimage last year and I’m planning to walk it sometime soon:-)
So because this movie came out in March, that means it doesn’t have the potential to win major awards? Because just looking at this movie’s trailer makes me think it’s strong enough to be in contention for major awards down the road.
You’re so hilarious. This was the best review I’ve watched about this trash. Your scrutiny and references to pop culture were amazing. I’m so glad I found your channel. Everything in this movie was odd, but music especially. I couldn’t like it. Massipyscho was the worst. He needs to be locked underneath a jail and away from the human population. Laura needs therapy.”I don’t want to see a pregnant woman ride the d, its bad for the d” made me stop and wheeze with laughter. It was one of the best parts of this movie.
My Top 7 Best Movies of 2013
1 Man of Steel
2 The Croods
3 Gravity
4 Despicable Me 2
5 Pacific Rim
6 Epic
7 The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug
Apparently Laura isn’t actually dead and there will be sequels♀️ i wish i was kidding, but I’m dead serious. At least 2 more. Lol
I Just don’t understand how you can say someone is not TRUE catholic or is wrong for the way they live that’s all
Maybe they wanted to ride the March madness/ LeBron James train
All those GOOD qualities is all I needed. Then you include that the score is Man of Steel-ish?!! TAKEMYMONEY
More importantly Sean, was this movie hard for you to watch with your history in being a recovering alcoholic? Was it believable and did it handle it well?
My list:
10. Elysium
9. Pacific Rim
8. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
7. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
6. The Way Way Back
5. American Hustle
4. Don Jon
3. Prisoners
2. Saving Mr. Banks
1. The Wolf of Wall Street
It’s one of the worst movies of the year. Who came up with the idea of this movie.
Ben Affleck and nick cage best performances are of alcoholics struggle with their addiction. So ben might have won an Oscar.
Omg Trisha looks so much more natural except from her boobs but her face look so nice without all the fillers
My opinion:365 dni isn’t a bad film the story (book) which it was based on is just worst then most of the fanfics online.
Poland sincerely apologises for “365 Days”. We do not condone smut penned by ex brothel madames turned celebrities. To our defence, we also had a polish feminist writer win a literary Nobel Prize for 2018. It’s a very dichotomic country.
I personally think that she looks really pretty here and in my OPINION she looks like she overdid it a little bit now, but she’s still the same person so whatevs
21:00 fuck that plotline that you spitballedthat just really got exciting thats the chick flick i want to watch-
Definitely want to see this it’s Hoosiers with Affleck as Hopper and Hackman in one!
Edit Batfleck still best Batsuit yet Grace
this tati and walmart noah centipede main couple makes christian and ana look like a good couple
A 9 with an A-, you NEVER get movies like this let alone of the quality and style its told I understand you’re complaint a little of the slow pace but you know they have to build something of quality and structure instead of just throwing it all at once sometimes that way the pay off is more profound. My let down was more of the ending him showing up to practice stills drunk was “shooterlike” and not needed they could have just had the same outcome with him Drinking and driving getting busted for it and the shame of that type thing I would have found better?
Can i just pretend it’s Batman dealing with the loss of Alfred and him turning outcasts into the Sons of Batman?
Hallmark Channel does it better. Boring predictable after school special story-line centered around Ben Affleck, trying to make a loser seems like a hero. Bitch please. No one is going see this. Especially in this Coronavirus outbreak time.
girl you can’t even leave right now what are you so smug about LMFAO
Zack Snyder is back and he will direct JL2 starring Ben Affleck
Watch
1 minute in and I 100% agree but think either they knew about the Weinstein shit or just had no faith in it sadly i love this movie!!!
Is this Trisha paytas? I can’t even tell she looks so different now
Basketball movie comes out during the college basketball tournaments. Makes total sense.
I’m starting to think that Ben A. asked to not be an awards contender… if you’re making a movie that close to the vest with his struggles which are still ongoing… press junkets would be a real struggle for him. I hope he gets a nom as minimum.
How do u get your posters so fast? Do u ask ur theatre? If so did u have to pay for it
release date…… March Madness? Basketball? Beer? Well maybe beer doesn’t relate, unless you like beer.
Hmmm, sounds like a nice rental, but perhaps an underwhelming theater experience?
“Can we have that, as a treat?” was the moment I hit the Subscribe button. XD
I’m actually looking forward to this a bit. That’s awesome, meeting you at the theater!
I have to say I’m really excited to see this. More than I expected. I love a sports movie coupled with how much more I like Ben as he gets older. I love his courage confronting this subject matter so publically. A must watch at the cinema for me therefore.
I agree with everything. Except for #1. Boooooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggg -Dull, bleak, miserable, with a dumb ending.
Movies like these are always not doing that great at the box office! I hope this one does
“A part from the acting there isn’t really a reason to see it in theaters ”
For me that’s the reason to see it in theaters
My list.
1. Her 10/10
2. Inside Llewelyn Davis 10/10
3. 12 Years a Slave 9/10
4. Prisoners 9/10

6. A place beyond the Pines 8/10
7. American Hustle 8/10
8. The Dirties 8/10
9. Dallas Buyers Club 8/10
10. Worlds end 7/10
I gotta watch the hunt
Everybody has their struggles with alcoholism these days, but in the end everyone always finds their way back, and I think that’s why people will connect with it, can’t wait to see this movie
how can you be a film critic and type cast actors…and not research the figure hes playing
Grace do you think Ben Affleck might be in awards contention for this given it’s so early in the year?
I agree with you on ‘Jagten’. In today’s current climate of gossip and public shaming, it’s strange how timely it turned out to be.
I dig how he’s still shot at at the end, as though someone still has his number, no matter how innocent he is.
So, they call the movie 365 Days, and don’t even stretch the plot to have it so they were together for that long? I don’t think having all that stuff occur over a year would have made any difference in the motivation or actions of the characters. They could have had it so the wedding was on the one year date from when he swept her off her feet for a life of chaperoned shopping and sedatives. But the friend says she has only known him for “two months” when we find out she is pregnant. GOD THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!
Wow… It took me almost three decades to realize that “bordello” means “brothel”… Me, an Italian. Lmao shit u live n u learn
I’d have to disagree with your analysis on the police brutality thing because that is an actual event that happened and it ties in with the main conflict of the film perfectly. Could they have implemented it better? possibly, but the way they did do it still works great in piling up the turmoil in Mississippi plot line, forcing him to finally take action and confront the governor.
I went to Sicily last year for my 30th bday like Laura but luckily no mafia kidnappers got obsessed with me.
This movie just makes me so uncomfortable. Like I’m antsy just even hearing it being talked about.
I’ll probably see it next weekend and the next I’ll see A Quiet Place 2
Dude how many channels you got https://youtu.be/cBLn_2Cj0sE this is what’s up since then
You should see her video called “How To Be a Gold Digger.” Full erection guaranteed.
This is a glorified wattpad fanfiction…and nothing more
Wouldn’t watching a movie with Grace (in a theater) be fun.
Omg when nick choke himself against the wall I almost choked on my pineapple!!
I adore your personality… that draw a face on an egg reference cracked me up! I have heard all the hype over this movie and it just seems to me from your analysis that the target audience was incels. When are we gonna stop giving cues to young men that ‘as long as you keep at itno matter how repulsive your behavior is… you can win her over’? It contributes to such deranged and misguided ideas for young men and sets them up for constant rejection (as do all of the pick-up artists on YT) if they see this as instructive/informative techniques on how to ‘get the girl’. Also leads to way more problematic outcomes where consent is seen as a game that can be overruled. It’s not romance, it’s fetishizing sadism. Wealth and good looks may be attractive traits to women but are definitely not required and certainly don’t overrule our capacity for common sense. And the fact that this is an accessible, widely talked about ‘soft-core’ movie that young bored kids in quarantine may curiously seek out which will be such an impressionable dynamic on what they think adult relationships are and what’s ‘desirable’ in our culture is absolutely tragic.
I’m so disappointed in it’s theme but I’m glad someone like you was able to pinpoint all the ways it is wrong in its portrayal.
Thank you for watching this so I didn’t have to!
What is this “don’t judge” talk? I am not condemning her soul or anyone else’s. I’m simply pointing out her failure to follow Church teaching while self-portraying and self-professing that she is following Church teaching. Is it not okay to make a judgement, or rather an observation, that she is confusing faithful Catholics who would otherwise be fooled into following her advice? All I’m saying is for people to be careful in watching her videos as if they are coming from a faithful Catholic.
The only 2 reasons for me to watch this movie for Ben and the director of the accountant
WW2 Italy sided with Germany. It appears to have the families fighting over history.

Glad to see someone else still watches the daily show. Also thanks for that psa at the end! It’s important to know others are or have gone through the same thing
Apparently the books are a trilogy so I guess Laura isn’t really dead.
So, if they make the other two into movies, are you going to review those too? Because it sounds like they’ll be even worse than the first one.:D
HI Grace, I’ve never seen any of your broadcasts before. I really enjoyed your review. I have not seen this movie yet, but have been looking forward to it. I’m glad I saw your review before seeing it, which I intend to do tomorrow. Your review was well stated and fair, and seemed to be carefully considered in your assessments. I have a strong feeling that if I will feel the same about wanting the movie to be longer and characters more developed, that I will feel better going in armed with your review. I will look our for your reviews in the future. Not a lot of people can be unbiased with their reviews, but you were. I like that.
Thank you,
Roy C
Such a great list. Denis Villanueva is one of my all time favorite directors. Loved prisoners
The place beyond the pines is a Pseudo Intellectual Trap And You sir, got caught. I will, from this point on, stay wary of you.
Sooo basically an Italian, live-action, modern-day Beauty and the bpBeast with a little mafioso twist….?
Good video man Bryan Cranston also in drive……. which you should review 😉
Got free passes from WB to see it on Wednesday, and I saw just because it had Ben Affleck not knowing anything about it lol And I really enjoyed it:)
You made a video saying you had a miscarriage, so I take it you mean you had an abortion then?
The movie was awful. Came off as nothing more than a heavy-handed polemic for baby boomers who sacrificed their ideals for professional success, telling them they still have the chance to live their life in retirement how they wished when they were twenty while still holding onto the benefits that success gives them. The Way is a vapid “have your cake and eat it too movie” packaged as a deep contemplation
Wow talk about 20 stutters a minute in this review.. Terrible
I just saw prisoners!!! Wtf was i doing with my life! Loved it so much denis Villeneuve is incredible I’ve seen all his films the ones in emglish except ror enemy wich I’ll see next! The guy is killing it can’t wait dor dune although it’s not very original
What’s up, Grace? It would be an honor to meet you. I would enjoy talking to you about movies and comics. Keep up the amazing content.
TERRANCE OUT
Holy shit did anyone else notice her un-even cleavage? D: I didnt think it was real… that is the creepiest shit
What happened to this girl??
You also look so much prettier naturally.
This is legitimately the most hilarious thing on YouTube right now
I imagine some Basketball fans will watch. I am not interested in watching anything Ben Affleck does.
Thank god. i was wondering what the hype was about but can’t be bothered to watch it
Every time he says “are you lost, baby gworl” I let out an ugly snort that I can’t help lmfao
This shit was awful. I’m glad I didn’t have that on my Netflix history lmao (watched YouTube reviews I came across)
This movie just said “its ok, guys! Stockholm syndrom is SEXY!”
MY BEST MOVIES 2013
1. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
2. HUNGER GAMES CATCHING FIRE
3. IRON MAN 3
HONORABLE MENTIONS
HOBBIT DESOLATION
CONJURING
MAMA
I think the “streaming movie” label is interesting considering a large number of us are amc A-List members. I personally wouldn’t mind watching this movie in theaters, because aside from the scale of the project. It’s an experience to see a movie in theaters, and sometimes at home it’s tough to immerse yourself.
1. Short Term 12
2. Prisoners
3. The World’s End
4. The Conjuring
5. The Place Beyond the Pines
You put Don John ahead of The Hunt Chris?! No way! Don John was fine and everything but nowhere near as being superior to that masterpiece!
Hindsight’s 20/20 but not wolf of Wall Street at 5 doesn’t age well
this sounds like the LOOOOONGEST movie! how long was it actually?
i literally can’t get enough of your commentary. so glad i found your channel ♥️
If you’ve ever been to Italy… You’d know that this movie has zero budget. That thing at the beginning isn’t a “Castle”. Castles in Italy are on another level. They tried to make people think they had budget, but they have nothing, or at least they invest nothing in location. Italy is a gorgeous country, like probably one of my favorite countries in the world. Its history is so rich, so shiny and grandiose. This movie just treats Italy (and Italians) like it treats romantic relationships. They clearly put more money in the shopping sessions and the clothes than the location parts.
This movie is not about trafficking!!! The guy didn’t wanna sell the woman or rape her. Its all about consent. People just don’t get it. Lol
I genuinely wanna vomit watching that ish… My god…
Edit: the jokes in this
This movie features Ben Affleck and alcoholism. I don’t really drink and I don’t do Ben Affleck movies.
16:40 my thoughts exactly!
Please, upload more movie reviews I really enjoy them

shut up she can go to church with me any day in what she wearing God doesn’t judge remember… Trisha I think your so beautiful the way you are… Christopher from Florida
WHY IS NOBODY STILL TALKING ABOUT SHORT TERM 12, ITS 2020?!?!?
I thought the castle was the same castle used by a certain porn video company
I’m going to the theater in about an hour to see this, can’t wait!
Short Term 12 was the best film of the year. Did you even watch it?
Pass on the contrived redemption story narrative. Any decent actor can pull it off. Don’t see why it needs to be in theaters.
“shoot her in the uterus” is what got me to subscribe to you, baby gorl.
Amen! this is an AXIOM, (young catholic girls dressing like the ones in hip-hop vids) when i was a young catholic, my friends and i will be so distrated by young girls at church dressing like this! the worst part is the parents that can NOT see the DEVIL at work through this! sad….
I feel like Warrior premise lends itself to be better, but this one looks awesome!
Abortion is not a sin in my opinion but from a religious point of view its not the worse. You need to read your religious texts more closely and cover your clown sized breasts then maybe I’ll take an ounce of what you say serious.
As a Polish person I would just like to say that I hate this,
Just saying,
We’re not all actually fucked up…
As a huge Sopranos fan, this attempt at a mob-themed romance makes me feel soooooo uncomfortable.
God if I realised I was sitting next to Grace in a theater I’d be scared stiff

12 years slave is easly my favorite movie of 2013 i’ve ever seen
its a fanfiction, of a fanfiction, of a teenage romance book. Girls stop your mothers from reading teen drama books — nothing good comes from it!!!
the girl needs to call Liam Neeson and not a shopping trip in Italy.
Why doesn’t her weak heart react when she’s literally being choked by a murderer???

I’ve heard a theory that the ending was supposed to be a set up for a second movie. Like the last makeover scene and the friend coming for the wedding were a set up for the friend getting mistakenly killed instead of Laura (like the hit was put out with a outdated physical description). Not saying that it makes the movie any better but it does explain some of it
Ben Affleck already describes it as biographical. That’s enough reason to avoid it. How is alcoholism a good subject matter when it should be basketball? The title sounds like a sci-fi time travel movie. It also sounds like Gone Girl: Basketball edition. No crazy wife, but stupid alcoholic guy still there.
Fun fact: Blanka Lipinska, the author of this crap used to be an escort on Egiptian yachts for wealthy men hence where she got ideas for the book lol
Great Stuff Grace and Great for Mr. Afleck as well!
Great Stuff all around!
What?? please wear something decent my dear woman!!
She is not for real, I don’t think, as a Catholic!
I thought the Wolf of Wall Street was leaps better than American Hustle.
Where is About Time? It’s an incredibly thoughtful and heartwarming movie with funny moments seasoned in.
she seems so normal in the video. more of herself….. very sweet and nice. a totally different person then now….
It would be so cool to recognize you at the movies that’s awesome Grace you did look beautiful in that picture. Thanks for the awesome review I wonder how difficult this movie might have been for him to make it because of what he’s gone through
Follows the current trend that all men have flaws and all women are perfect.
Just watched this and thought, damn, that really was a great year for film.
no pacific rim. man of steel. iron man 3.the wolverine. 47 ronin and thor the dark world
she can still be saved if she asked Jesus into your heart and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I’ve always respected Affleck. Even when he was first announced to play Batman. I hope more people start to treat him with more respect.
Chris and I are VERY, VERY similar on what movies we like. Every movie I REALLY like and I’m curious on how he liked it, he always says it’s really good.
The release date may be taking advantage of the college basketball frenzy that is about to start. The major conference tournaments commence next week which means the NCAA tournament is around the corner. March Madness is bigger than the Super Bowl. I like Affleck. Hope this film is a box office champ.
Wow, this movie is a mess. I’m glad I didn’t finish it so I could come here and be more entertained! I subscribed and I’m watching all your videos. I was gasping for air. THESE JOKESS!!
american hustle over wolf of wallstreet? Really? this has to be the only person i’ve seen that liked that one more.
The movie filmed the gym scenes at my high school in Ontario, CA. I drove next to the studio trucks, it was very cool. Ford v Ferrari also filmed a few blocks away from me at the airport but I never saw anything about that one.
I like how ppl are criticizing her shirt. This is nothing, compared to her look now.
For a minute there I thought this would be about the way back machine of the internet… DISAPPOINTED!
I thought the ending was a joke when you said it so random
The only thing negative I have with the movie. It kinda ended abruptly. There should be at least 15 more minutes of the film. And that’s actually surprising me to say because I hate long movies.
This movie is really bad. However, the actor playing Massimo is so g*d damn hot that I sat thru the whole movie! The female lead is awful-very confusing. I have so many questions about the continuity of the script. It’s kind of a mess. The beautiful locations in Italy are stunning tho, so nice job there.
I will definitely look out for it when it streams as your take of it makes a compelling case to watch.
You trying to show how well you can drink from the water bottle, and the “I want a can of hornmills chili with no beans.. and you’re gunna make it for me” had me in tears annnnnnnnd subscribe.
I can’t tell if Chris loves artsy movies more than Ryan gosling
The third act of Place Beyond the Pines was so disappointing. Couldn’t suspend my disbelief. The first two acts are amazing, though.
no pacific rim. man of steel. iron man 3.the wolverine. 47 ronin and thor the dark world
So glad to see The Place Beyond the Pines get some recognition! One of my favorite films of all time!

Hope all turns out better for him after watching the movie
Never in my life, have I wanted to beat the absolute CRAP out of a child after I watched The Hunt.. I was beyond annoyed at the little girl that accused him because she got rejected
Hats off to Paul Dani for being in 2 of the best movies in a year full of great movies(12 years a slave and prisoners)
I’m actually really excited to see this. Can’t wait actually
“the sexy side of human trafficking” is what made me go oop am i subscribed because if not its time do eet
place beyond the pines is so good, the acting, the story and score is phenomenal
This is the first of the 2020 movies I’ve been looking forward to. Next is Quiet Place 2, Dune, and especially Tenet
I couldn’t even finish the movie. B rated movies really do walk a fine line.
I was waiting for Grace to review this.I plan on seeing this now, Because of your review. Especially if it deals with alcoholism. I remember seeing the lost weekend in rehab…its a strong film…so I’m hoping this one is as well. Thank you for your review grace.
Based off of the limited amount of stuff I saw I thought this was supposed to be some sort of kidnap thriller until I started watching horrified reviews of this hot mess.
Why is it Rated R? I had planned to take my son to it but he’s 9, Is that too young?
While both absolutely INCREDIBLE films, I personally think The Place Beyond the Pines deserved #1 and Prisoners #2.
I understand that the release date of a movie can play a large part in its box office success. I just didn’t know that the release date of a film could affect the quality of the film. Releasing the movie at a different point in the calendar year changes the films quality (I learn something from grace in almost all her videos).
Dallas buyer club should have been in your top list the movie was a masterpiece.
Ben Affleck should win an Oscar for this movie. He has been an alcoholic and now he portrays an alcoholic
Hey my name is Adam Silvia i am a filmmaker. I recently made a movie called “In Transit” on prime video. The budget was 5000 and I was wondering if you can review with your honest opinion.
I watch your videos all the time and enjoy your content. thanks for your time

12 Years a Slave definitely my number 1 in 2013, but I’m glad you put Prisoners at number 1 though. Also I think Rush should be at least in honorable mentions.
I mean if you watched 365 why not review love. Cause I wanna hear your opinion on the ending and the movies “plot” or something they call plot
2:06 “The Lon… the lon…? The Long.”
Later that day: “THE LOST!! Ah dammit!”
420 likes Nice
Grace, who’d Brandon Wilson play in the MCU if you had your choice
Just got back from this movie and I had a lot of fun with it I will say though there are weirs cinematic shots in this movie. Weird zooms that looked like it was being done by a highschool film student to be exact and when that would happen it would draw me out but then there were so either shots that I though were very well done but that is honesty my biggest complaint for the movie otherwise I thought it was pretty good
thanks for explaining..im not saying she’s not a “true” Catholic. Of course she is, but in the Church we are called to follow the teachings of the Church. If someone doesn’t want to, they have every right to leave. The problem here is that she is saying one thing but doing another. I think everyone should have a problem with that, it’s deceiving. It’s an objective matter. As for the way people live, why do we have laws if there is no wrong way to live? Saying this is to love her not condemn her.
Thanks for reviewing this! I was like-am I the only one thinking this movie is problematic?? Why is it on netflix?? And why do they have to continually advertise the shit films and then say they’re in the top ten? They’re in the top ten because you shoved it everyone’s face!
I’m so glad this cringe exists so you can do a clip breakdown of it loll
I am Really Looking Forward to This Movie! I Love Good Sports Movies Like „Rocky” and „Real Steel”!
A movie that critics didn’t love that I really liked from 2013 was Oblivion with Tom Cruise.
Thanks for covering this one! As an alcoholic myself (2+ yrs sober) & an Affleck fan I’m quite excited to get in the theater for this one.
I miss Batfleck. So much promise there—Wish he could’ve had a solo flick. ☹️. Im gonna check this out maybe next week. HI GRACE!
This was probably the last year I remember there being tons of great movies. It’s been pretty abysmal since. Maybe a gem here or there but nothing really special or memorable.
i went to see it with my basketball team and we are ready for the sequel
Great review, Sean.
Beautiful words of wisdom at the end.
Will there be a ranking of every movie directed by Gavin O’Connor (I can already guess what is your favorite of his)??
Oh Grace, i’d love to see your review for Bacurau, do you have any plans to watch it? Brazilian fan here:)
A sports movie without sports scenes?
Finally a sports movie I can enjoy!
Actually really liked your review and agree mostly and agree this should have been a show but so love when these r movie’s because not only r so far in between but never get the quality production they deserve sadly. Jimmy Cipwood jump shot for the win!
So, my husband proposed to me that way. I woke up and the ring was on my finger and it was actually pretty cute. I am deeply offended that they used that on this horrible movie hahaha but I guess at least my husband is not a kidnapper mob boss, so it’s fine.
The opening scene from The Place Beyond the Pines with the camera following Ryan Gosling through the carnival was so badass. Gosling was ELECTRIFYING in this movie he absolutely stole every scene he was apart of, I also say this is one of Bradley Cooper’s best performances. Both it and Prisoners are fantastic movies. Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Gosling are two of the most underrated actors of our generation.
hi Sean you have inspired me to want to be a movie reviewer when I grow up
Honestly i couldnt even pay attention to the plot (or lack of one) because the constant sexual abuse and harassment made my stomach churn
I love watching character driven films. You made me want to go watch this movie. Thanks Sean.
Omg… When she still looked like a human Also what’s with the voice?
I’m seeing Invisible Man this weekend. Then, I’ll go see Onward with my best friend next weekend. Then, I’ll see A Quiet Place Part II the weekend or week after (thanks, Spring Break).
I’m assuming the placement of this movie has everything to do with March Madness. I can see them spending a lot of money advertising this during the games
One subgenre I’m normally not a fan of is mafia films, the other is political films.
I might check it out when I’m bored, but then again I like to give everything a chance:)
Awesome review as always Rameez, hope you enjoy the new ninja turtles movie if you’re gonna watch it lol
Btw I haven’t seen anyone talk about his latest movie on Netflix, the last thing… that’s weird.
See he’s already on Netflix, he could totally do a limited series.
Looks like an Oliver Stone movie. When it’s up on HBO I’ll definetly be watching. Thanks for the review!
