How Many Steps Do People Take Per Day on Average? Walking’s good for more than just getting around. As wearable fitness trackers become increasingly popular, more people Males tend to walk more. There appears to be a significant difference in the average number of steps taken by females Your.
The Average Daily Steps People Walk Average Daily Steps. A study published in 2010 of over 1,000 Americans found an average of 5,117 steps overall, with men Activity Monitor Data. The companies that make mobile phones, fitness apps, activity bands, and pedometers receive Optimal Daily Steps.
How to include more steps in your day. Take the dog for a walk. If you don’t have a dog, volunteer to walk dogs at an animal shelter. Or combine your activity with social time by Try music. A bouncy tune or something with a strong beat can make activity more.
If you’re like many Americans, you’re falling short, according to new research from Stanford University, which found that people in the U.S. took an average of just 4,774 step daily. That’s below.Researchers looked at the average daily step counts for 16,741 women with an average age of 72 for one week and found that those who walked just a moderate amount—an average of just under 4,400.If you normally walk about 5,000 steps a day, getting in an extra 30-minute, brisk walk into your day would take you to about 8,000 steps, Tudor-Locke said.
The average U.S. adult walks about 5,900.Generally, older adults in good physical shape walk somewhere between 2,000 and 9,000 steps daily. This translates into walking distances of 1 and 4-1/2 miles respectively. Increasing the walking distance by roughly a mile will produce health benefits.
Another way to think of it is adding an extra 20 or 30 minutes to your daily walk.A study published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity notes that step counts typically range between 2,000-9,000 steps per day.Doctors recommend walking 10,000 steps per day if you want to lose weight. This is because every pound of fat burned equals roughly 3,500 calories. The average person will burn 3,500 per week if he or she walks around 10,000 steps per day.
Yet these are simply estimates. Most fitness trackers recommend a 10,000-step goal because it equals about 5 miles a day — including 20 minutes of moderate exercise, explains Fitbit. For most people, 10,000 steps is a good. The United States ranked 30th, with an average daily step count of 4,774.
The researchers noticed activity inequality — that is, dramatic gaps between active and inactive people within one. While the exact number is based on factors such as your age, gender, and diet, one study. Trusted Source. found that getting at least 15,000 steps per day is correlated with lower risk of.Recently a study has been published about this and global average is about 5000 steps daily. (taking the average step length as 0.75m, this makes 3.75km per day). Most people get a bit over 2,000 steps per mile, which takes about 20 solid minutes of brisk walking.
Even if 5,000 steps per day is average, that’s not a lot of steps when you think about it. 5,000 steps adds up to about 2.5 miles or less than an hour of activity at a normal walking pace.If I just do my average day without anything extra I probably get about 4k-5k. If I go on walks on my breaks, usually about 7k. If I walk during my lunch as well I’ll probably be close to 10k.
I usually go to the gym at the end of the day. And somedays I work at Starbucks also (only 12 hours a week) but I only average 4k steps during a shift.

I have arthritis in my knees…seeing a physio and exercises for more supportive muscles over the last month and walking 4000-6000 one day and then the next day 6000-8000. I am on track although some of those of those bigger days have been anything like 6000 12000 depending on pain levels. A month in and I have lost weight, am handling stress better and walking around around my neighbourhood I have met other walkers. The good thing is my knees are better for it too. I’ve cut back on pain relief and it is good to think about walking and less about diet.
Next challenge: 1 000 000 steps in one week. And Will: Hold my beer…
THEY ARE ALL SO INTERESTING TO WATCH…..THIS WAS DEF INTERESTING
Walking is best thing you can do for your Heart! Your legs are full with big blood vessels, so when you walking, legs muscles actually pump blood through vessels and so your heart can actually rest. It’s only depend how strong are your legs muscles to walk longer. If you tired, actually your muscles are tired, but not your Heart. Just give one or two days resting to your muscles and repeat walking. So your Heart will thank you so much.
Awww u guys seem 2 like being around each other… like buddies ur funny too!
Keep getting those steps in… keep being nice 2 each other (it’s a jungle out there) till death do you apart (a little weird….) but ok bye now.
Your wife mad hella excuses…. she just didn’t want to walk….
If Pokemon Go was still a thing, 10k steps a day would be a joke.
Nobody will notice those two couples looks the same? Two bald beta guys with beard, two glasses Chick with zero fucks given to their hair, which means they are not doing well in relationship.
Its so true. When you walk you want to eat less… i do 20 30,000 a day and I’m a different person. Love this vid
I used to be able to walk 10.000 steps a day when I was just living everyday life with uni and events and stuff, but now that everything switched to online-university, I barely even get 2000 steps a day.
You need to walk more than 20000 steps every day to take effect, that is for sure.
On days I have summer school, I walk about 10,000 steps. On days I have plans after summer school, I walk twice that amount. On my weekends, I walk like 100 steps lmao.
I did it for 20 years and look i am still alive. Wow.. such a surprise. Really so many click bait channels and trying to hump on the hype. Just disgusting. Within a year 2 this will be over and another hype will take over. Nothing is will help, people are still getting fatter and fatter.
No one is mentioning that amazing Decemberists shirt and it makes me sad.
U sound like will forte.I’m liste6to this while waking I feel good Bot 10k its working for me so far
Hmm, I walk to work and back and take an evening strollabout 8 miles day in total. I think I can do this:D
Great. Sitting so much is killing us. Let’s stand up and walk.
im just here wondering how a guy like that got a hot girl like that
You and your fancy Patreon look-alike couple friends…Must be Nice…must be nice.
Me and my family walk almost every day for about 10-15km, now i since i changed cities i have had days when i walked about 25km with the peak at 28km
Some perspective that’s walking from Indianapolis, Indiana to Cincinnati, Kentucky…
I did 50k steps playing outside from like 10 to 6 and I thought I was the greatest thing ever…… until I saw this
I lift weights, eat 2k to 2.5k calories and do at least 10k steps a day, and I have stayed the same size or weight for the best 5 years. For the past 2 years I’ve only ran sparingly since my doctor said it’s bad for me due to injuries. Do listen to your body and know when to rest. Even excessive walking can wear your body out sooner than expected. I also changed out my shoes when they’re worn out.
omg i just found this video on youtube!
I’m in singapore doing 10,000 steps a day…
Guess what, same benefits… it does help
I’m a postman. I do 27000 steps a day, 6 days a week for the last 17 years. All while carrying a 15 kilo bag.
Walking moves your spine and helps nutrients reach your brain that way
I am a teacher and I walked like 10000 steps a day like it was nothing. Because of the corona situation I gained 5 kilos just because I stayed home and i didn t walk so much.
People are ok? Don’t u have, like that little thing called “JOB”? I work in wearhouse where you walk 15-25k steps every day for years and years… And I don’t feel any different… This walking stuff makes no sense.
Love this video because it’s informative yet humorous. Those parents are sooo funny!
During the pandemic activity levels are low so i started 45 mins daily walk…it was a surprise to have a bit of knee pain the beginning even though I used to workout in gym before pandemic started.. realized quickly that how we do not walk at all and it’s the case with most of us… so after couple of weeks of 45 to 60 min walk decided to follow app and cover 10000 steps everyday (excluding the steps inside the house)… it takes me 2 hrs as the temp is high here do I walk with the comfortable pace…. no knee of leg pain.. challenging but very fulfilling…. dont really increased appetite.. I don’t hv weighing machine at home but I am certain it is helping reduce fat.. I feel positive changes in poster and overall body… I recommend walking try as much as you can atleast… it benefits… my insta account @smitakhodwe
I’m fourteen. I walk 10000 steps a day. I have five hours of sleep every night. It’s not that hard.
I had a friend do this along with a healthy diet, and she lost a ton of weight.
Haven’t watched your vids in a minute, absolutely not a fan of the new couple.
Mentions Autumn bates….My mind immediately “okay so he’s fallen for the trap as well”
I got 10,000 every day this week. It was way easier than I thought. I have let my weight go so far it’s difficult to jump back into more intense cardio and I’m a trucker so gym access is difficult. Hoping this very simple program of 10k steps and 500 calorie deficit fixes me up.
The longest I walked was 32000 steps and by the time I was closing to 25k I didn’t even feel that tired anymore, it was already like something normal to me
This video should be renamed, “we didn’t walk 10k for everyday a week”
i do 17000 minimum/day average the last 4 years. do people really do less than 10k? is it usuall?
I used to walk 26-30k steps 5 days a week in a previous job. Always had battered knees
I walk 24000 steps per day
Morning 12000
Eve 12000
Iam 41 years old
Like if you’ve done the Camino de Santiago and you’re just curious about this video
It’s not hard to walk that much. I do it instead of sitting so much and my back problems improved dramatically.
10k? thats rookie numbers. try 30k+ 10 pushups and pullups every day for a year and see your body transform
10K-s is not that much, its 90-100 mins of walking daily. Considering that the basic expectation of the infantry in WW2 was to march 40 kms a day in most armies in gear (thats 50K steps), 10Ks is not that much anyone can do it even at old age
I’ve been walking 10000 or so steps a day. Bare in mind I’m very inactive so I do see and feel fitter. My butt and leg muscles are much more toned. I also have really bad asthma so I can’t do as much cardio as I would like. However, I’m on furlough so when I go back to work doing 10 and 12 hour shifts will I really want to walk for 1.5 hours a day? So I shall no doubt return to being a couch potato!
I wanna be able to walk more often but I’ve been having to pee sooooo much more often that my walks get shortened and then I’m all peeved. The pee is stressing me out, man.
Find yourself a woman who looks at you like Jack’s wife does.
Adding exercise to a sedentary life of course makes you healthier and can reduce weight (depending on your eating habits). Saying that walking is better for weight loss than running/jogging is false, which is what your guest started in her video.
Them: walking outdoors
Me: walking around in my room in circles
In both Japanese and Chinese language, the word “万” can literally mean “ten thousand”, or it can mean a “myriad”, or “everything”. So the idea is actually to walk as much as possible, or as a lifestyle.
I did it for a month and I lost 5.4 pounds. I’m really shocked because I’ve been eating a lot of fast food and junk. Now I’m motivated to eat healthier cuz I want to maximize the weight loss.
If I were to walk 10000 steps a day, I would want my butt to fall off.
I appreciate your effort and enjoyed your video! I believe I would have enjoyed it better if you used someone who wasn’t in great shape who came along side of you. I understand there were some results and I enjoyed hearing them but would have loved to have heard results from someone who could use the challenge!
why only 10,000? i´ve been doing 12,000 for about 6months now, and dont see any difference.
I would like to walk 33mi in some years
right now goal (15-20mi) this year
Extremely easy to do this and the fact that people consider it interesting enough to watch a video of someone trying it is bizarre

I walk 30 miles a week been doing for 2 years, my posture has improved got a flat stomach,I’m 60 yrs old not been this slim since she 18
How lucky you are, living in peaceful and beautiful place, love the location
I’m a furniture mover, so TBH, I don’t want to know how far I walk in a day
I used to run a lot. Now I do a mix of running and walking. Just walking is actually harder on my body than running because it takes so long.
Paper tape, acrylic running socks are the way to go for dealing with friction burns (sure proper fitting shoes too). Moleskin not bad either, just a bit too cumbersome for my taste. Cool video bro. Never done any crazy one day records like this (only 30+k steps as PR)…more into weekly challenges hitting 100k/week consistently (PB around 140k steps/week). You’re in great shape bro. Science and statistics of marathon running/endurance is quite intriguing, chalk full of hurtles like autonomic dysfunction (good idea on the spare clothing), friction burns, hemorrhoid prevention, muscle wasting, etc.
You’re inspirational! I used to walk to the ocean and back taking the steepest hills every night after work. I never felt better in my life.
The downside of this is you are becoming a sex symbol and won’t have time for us anymore.
I’m happy to see other people do this! I’ve been a distance runner for 7 years now. By walking to the gym, running 10 miles, walking at work, and walking home I average about 30,000 steps every day. I usually hit 110-115 miles a week. It’s the lifestyle that I love!
Love the video but from my pedometer and calculating numbers online, the calorie burn numbers seem way too high for the amount of steps.
I know it varies depending on weight but now I’m wondering if my data is off or if this data is incorrect.
Ps I’m not using a Fitbit only my phones pedometer.
Nice video.
Once you do it regularly and your body is used to it, you better continue with it or you will gain back weight fast if you stop.
Just started doing 20k steps a day, 5 miles a day, on day 5 now, that walkers high is real, day 2 I felt it I ended up walking 10 miles, no phone no electronics, definite mood booster.
lol 5 miles is now a long distance? Wow, I think amaericans have reached peak snowflake.
So, nobody in the “we walked 10k steps every day” walked 10k steps every day?
I have a Confidence Fitness treadmill that is very small and only about $200 on line. I put it under a table that I had raised up with by adding extra wood pieces under the legs. With this setup it is super easy to get in lots of steps WHILE YOU ARE WORKING OR JUST SURFING THE NET. When I first started working from home, I walked 15-16 miles a day, by accident. One day, just for the heck of it, I walked a marathon. Yes, I was in reasonably good shape before, but the trick is to set it to a pace that is not sweat inducing and just stay on it. Keep walking!
Really easy for people that work on their feet all day and exercise regularly.
Omg i walked just 5 km this morning and am feeling like truck hit me hard and his walked 30’000 a week wow well done
Fitbits are notoriously inaccurate. Try another device to track steps
I remember doing a challenge of walking 10 miles a day for 30 days back in the early 2ks, the author of the book claimed you could lose 8 pounds of fat in that time span without dieting. I did the whole 30 days, one day i would walk twelve miles other days eight, i just had to put in the miles by the end of the week. I lost exactly eight pounds and dropped an entire size from my waist area which was very noticeable for just losing 8 pounds, in the process sadly i developed plantar fasciitis despite changing foot inserts, sneakers, etc.
Yeah I’ve been doing 28000 steps Monday to friday for about 12 years. What I found out from all that walking is I’m knackered
I get 10000 steps just from walking to school and back everyday
Im seeing this video after i saw ur video randomly about hair growth
Most steps I’ve ever done was 50 k steps in a day. Atm I do 21 k a day but I used to do 30 k everyday.
Years ago I started walking dogs part time between personal training clients. I was already pretty active and lean as it was.
But getting 25-30K steps M-F on top of what I was already doing got me ridiculously lean. LOL Also I have to eat 5000+ cals daily just to maintain my weight. LOL
Lol! Love it! I walk 22k+ steps a day and I find myself thinking thinking thinking. Very therapeutic. Great clip
As a 51 year old postman for 20 years my daily work steps are around 25,000 to 30,000 steps a day and my daily distance covered is 25km. I work 6 days a week most weeks.25km × 6(days) x 47(working weeks a year) × 20 (years) = 141,000 km.Thats 3 and a half times round the world. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Oh yeah I train 4 times a week (calisthenics boxing training) as well and I got 3 kids to look after too so watching your video I’m thinking you need to try a bit harder mate. Great upload and interesting fitbit info. AMOR VINCIT OMNIA my friend and thanks for the good work.
Awesome sir. Great work, thanks for sharing . Keep rocking.
Why did this video have to be 14 minutes long? That’s so unnecessary… especially if you’re just doing it for ad revenue, cause I have an adblocker on… so it’s completely pointless..
My 106 grandmother walked every day for blocks. She could not do it today, because she would be attacked. Walk in the Mall, before they are all closed.
Please carry several protection items.
I gotta do 10,000 everyday at work.
Ain’t got no choice.
But I love it.
I hike 5 miles a day avg some weeks I do 10
And I’ve never had a better pair of boots than meurrel
I’ve been wearing the same pair for 9 months
They’re holding up great
I used to walk 2.5 miles each way to work. Sometimes on the way home I would do extra. I ended up losing 80 pounds in 7 months. Within the first 2-3 weeks, my blood pressure went from 170/95 down to 130/80. I did this from May thru November.
I really enjoyed this video.. so much that I went on to watch another video and came back to like this video.
His walking videos made me change up from being sedentary other than just 5x training per week to walking 14k steps everyday plus 5x sessions.
The most i have walked is 41,668 steps. I was in Macau with my homies. We were hiking and walking almost the entire day. Vlogging and chilling the whole time. The next day, we slept almost the entire day. It was hella fun though!
Hi I’m Bec (not Adam) thankyou for making this video. Nothing has motivated me to exercise until now, (I’m 47 and 150lbs) I watched this 2 weeks ago and now I have been walking everyday chasing the ‘walkers high’ you mentioned.
… Feeling so much better already with life so thankyou again.
I’ll hit just over 100 miles this week, most weeks I hit 75 miles plus,I am 60 years old, exercise is good for you
I walk 3x a week usually 6.25miles per walk. Walking 30k steps is alot. Not sure if I could do it yet but I’ll get there. I completely respect what you’ve done though.
Only lost 4lbs walking that much??? Do you binge eat or something? Geez
Does walking on a treadmill count I’ve heard it’s not as good as going walking out side
Long distance thruhikers regularly do 20+ mile days, day after day, carrying a full pack and going over mountains!
Omg such a great idea!! I’ll also do something like this after my uni exams next month!!
I got a new job last fall and generally walk at least 20,000 steps a day 5 days a week. Over 7 months I lost over 35 pounds. I could lose another 30. We’ll see what the rest of the year brings
I know what happen i need to buy
A new tennis shoes every week.
I am the same age as you and have always enjoyed walking. But Never thought it could make you taller by an inch! I am taking up this challenge! Great video!
Neato! I’m off this week due to a cancelled trip. I’m going to walk lots!
I lost 70pounds in 6months walking 14miles a day..nothing too much strict diet.
And did 50 continous days of half marathon daily walk during this lockdown
Nooo, don’t listen to autumn bates she doesn’t know Jack, go watch some Greg doucette
I did 4000 steps in 38 mins I love walking but made my legs bigger so stopped!
… I was gonna say, k Forest… I don’t like people like this anymore
Only if the tech becomes great and we can hear units in metric system based on our region.
I don’t know how far is 16miles and mental 1mi*1.6 =x km is not easy
How did you keep the workout going while you charged your watch?
That part where you were walking while brushing your teeth is ME. I started noticing it was weird when my little sister started walking beside me lmao. Still doing it btw.
Loved your video on the 100,000 steps in a day. I had the same crazy idea a few years ago and managed to complete it as well. More than most then, I can empathize with your experience particularly the pain involved and the mental toughness required to get through. I’ve come to think of this more as a mental challenge than a physical one. If you care to read about my journey, feel free to visit my blog post at http://westonraske.blogspot.com/. I put up a few blogs starting with why I decided to do this challenge, some practice attempts, and then the real deal.
Gonna hit 50k tomorrow morning, wish me luck, last week I hit 42k and my leg was hurting the next day
My longest is 26k! that was actually a little tough.
For those who are interested:
Age: 21
Sex: F
Weight: 112 lbs
Height: 5’3
Edit: He did it! Wow! I’m impressed.
Bruh I love the kumon logo and I’m a kid who doesn’t even know of that place other than what you showed us.
Did a 35,000 step trek with my husband a few months ago. Did MANY 20+ mile rucks in the army.
Be careful not to injure your future, older self with your challenges.
These guys sound like they have inheritance coming that is going to make their life even more easyer
Walked 30 000 steps 4 days a week for 1 year and a half, never been so ripped
I walked 62,000 steps today.cant even feel my legs anymore
The most I can recall walking is 25,592 steps but I’m sure walking around during vacation yields plenty of steps. I just don’t have the same phone from then.
I think my longest walk was 33k or more I think, it definitely over 30k I average around 20k to 27k a day because Im just out all day with my friends with no school
I’ve only hit 25,000 while working in the hospital a few times. 100k would be
Just did the 100k step challenge yesterday. It took me 22 hours and was the hardest thing I have ever done. I can’t walk today lol. Thanks for the inspiration Will.
Completed the 100K challenge yesterday. The last 10K steps were no joke. I could barely walk the stairs when I was home. Thanks for the inspiration Will!
Good job!! I am on 17000 steps a day hopefully I will reach 30k steps a day!!
The most I got was 25k and I was not even trying to get a high count, I was just trying to get somewhere and had no other form of transportation (I live in a third world country so shit like that happens sometimes) but I regularly get 22 to 23k when it’s my shift at work.
Not sure if im going to like this video, but ill think about it.
Hey Will, great job on this accomplishment! I have a few questions about this for you? Can I send you an email? Thanks for your time. Have a great day!
Remember:
Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist
Dietitians are licensed
Walked around 47,000 steps in Warsaw on my first day there. My knees and ankles were in pain for the rest of the trip.
Canada: exists
Canadians: OH GOD THE RACCOONS ARE ATTACKING!!!!!!!!!
I did this once, I ened up walking all the way from Edmonton to Westlock. Why you ask? To party with the boys of course why else
The most steps I’ve ever gotten was a little over 53,000.
And it was because I had to move from a apartment on the 4th floor to a 2 story house by my damn self.
I couldn’t walk for 2 days.
I can’t imagine doubling that.
I walked 20,000 steps it took me a little over 4 hours so I couldn’t even imagine walking 100k steps
I have been walking 10km a day(6days a week)since January 1st and working out 4 days a week… lost 17
kilos and gained muscle and I feel amazing…the beginning was hard but now it has become a habit
The most I ever walked was 29000 steps approximately this was when some friends and I went to London England. That was the first day we were there after that we figured out the transportation situation. And then we ended up walking about about 26,000 steps when we got to Paris until we figured out the Metro and other forms of transportation. I don’t mind walking so it wasn’t bad. We walked everyday actually while we were in Europe for about 3 weeks. So I’ll total that’s the most walking I’ve done ever.
Since i started recording my steps I have Done 8000 steps and I m 400+ pounds so I m proud but before recording I think I might have crossed 20k
How many HOURS is that?!
..As for me..i walk 1hour &
45 minutes(from my house
to downtown,PARK) so how many STEPS is that?!
i hit 10k easy when I mow my almost 1 acre lawn and when I walk at the track I can get 8500 and then back starts hurting I’ve done it a lot and my weight does nothing and I eat lunch and dinner I had a trainer for 8wks once and did everything she told me to do and I got stronger but not weight loss she scratched her head I told her how my body is I hate my body but ill keep walking
Will got me asking the real questions… “how long does 1 hour 52 minutes walk take by car” like??? What am I missing… kudos
Walking is easy. But 10,000 is way 3 to 4 times more than what the average person walks in a day.
If you want to make 100,000 steps in 1day come to Trinidad for carnival you will make that easy
Ι was working 9 hours a day,at a hotel in Greece and I had 45-50 k steps per day every day 6/7 days a week. The first month was the most painful experience in my life, then I think I got somewhat used to it. Worked at the hotel for the full season 5 months
So if walk 100k steps a day can lose 2-4lb daily!? Interesting
I have a very active job where I don’t wear my watch so I usually only hit around 5000 steps per day. I’m off on a short vacation and this has encouraged me to make sure I hit my 15,000 steps for the next three days.
Id go for jogs and walks at night but now i cant cause i live in a shitty neighborhood and it sucks. Like shitty as in people get shot and mugged down the street constantly
I once walked through London with a recovering sprained ankle (grade 2 or 3) and almost hit 40k steps with ease so now I wonder if I could do 100k…
“Frodo Baggins on the way to get the ring”…..noooooooo I feel violated.
I hit 65k walking 32 miles in Spain. 100k sounds like a wild time. Might have to give it a shot.
27k a few summers ago but I was working demolition so walking all over the site all day
I’ve been walking 15000 a day for a week now, it’s easier than I thought. So it became routine and I love it.
I did kumon as a kid and can confirm the logo is a direct comparison to how i felt during the sessions
The most I’ve ever walked was 20k steps but 100k?????? That sounds tough
You are amazing seriously inspire me, I have an old ankle injury that has taken forever to heal, watching your do this challenge honestly inspired me thank you for being such an inspiration
I started walking about 2 weeks ago at 321 lbs. I initially could only walk 10 minutes at a brisk pace before experiencing pain in my right hip. I would take brakes but make sure to get my 10k steps a day. Now I’m 305 and can do 2 hours straight (10-12k steps)with no pain at all. When I began, I would listen to audio books that entertained me, now I listen to books that expand my knowledge. It’s fun.
currently walking 1,000,000 steps in a month so 33,333 avg per day. on pace 4 days in. If i fall behind the last day could be close to 100,000 haha
Is 10,000 steps suppose to be hard? I hit 15,000-20,000 everyday at work, and 12,000 on my days off.
Ok, it’s challenging but couldn’t you do something picturesque? Walk 100,000 steps holding a selfie stick all the way! Kumon
I remember when I worked security at a couple of malls around my area.. I use to walk around 15k to 30k a day.. A day! I now just do 10k now.
I think the most for me was 22,000 steps. I was in Boston for my birthday and walking was the only way I was able to get around.
most steps in a day was about 50,000 whilst hiking in mountains in slovenia
Walking is good for your heart…….all you need is 15-20 minutes a day!
Awesome video! I tried walking 10k steps everyday and it really helps with my weight loss!
I am on my journey to lose 22 kilos. I am on IF and i walk 15K + steps everyday along with HIIT workouts thrice a week! Hope i reach my goals soon..
Most I ever walked in a day was 31,391
My friend did 47,941 so I’m trying to beat him
Btw I’m at 29,’581 right now
Edit end of day ended up doi g 111,111
Well done guys, I’m doing 15000 steps a day, each day in May. I’m on 304,857 steps. Today is the the 20th May 2020. 10 days to go. Thanks for the inspiration guys
I get over 10-11k steps every weekday at school because my school is huge , haven’t been doing that much at the moment obviously cause the virus
What type fitbit did they get? Look like a pocket pedometer. If so I didn’t know they sold that.
Um..10k is easy..do it with exercise and you’ll see alot of results
I walk around 4000 a day, i eat n sleep well. Less negative thoughts.
but like.. thats what i get every day of school, and its also the average amount of steps
Please describe your achievements guys!! So that viewers will be motivated!! Simply making a video with friends will not give any added advantage or motivation I feel!
Back in Highschool i took 10k a day just by walking to school, changing classes and walking back home
I walk and run 22,000 steps or around 11 miles every day. Been doing it for years and years. It’s very good for body and mind! 😉 everyone should walk and run at least 2-3 miles a day. It’s very good for body, mind and you feel great every day!:)
I have been doing this! Though living in the UK (Cotswolds) rain is kind of standard. I walk in the rain….
I thought you dumped a whiteclaw on your face at the beginning but realized it was just a rockstar. I almost feel disappointed it wasn’t.
Great video! I started doing 10 miles/day in quarantine for the first 45 days. Then I couldn’t move for two days! Just super tight (did no stretching). I started stretching and ended up doing 13.5 mile average days for the last 30 something days. I haven’t quite reached 100 mile weeks but I’ve gotten close at around 94 mile weeks. It’s been challenging! I was feeling incredibly tired, more so than I realized possible. I haven’t been commuting to the office so that’s 2 hours a day I found and the gyms are closed so that’s 1.5 hours a day plus staying in the house all day is not something to look forward to lol. I also walked rain or shine which is more of a mental game then I realized. It’s been fun and challenging and needless to say I’m doing yoga now in order to keep the mileage up! Stay safe brother!
“It’s too cold to walk outside!” Who said you have to walk OUTSIDE?! I won my first step bet walking at the mall!
I started walking recently. My mid back is to tight. Stretching it doesn’t really work but the good news is that I might be getting taller as a result.
I have been walking 10000 steps a day for almost every day (easily more than 9/10days) since when i bought my first smartphone in 2013 and discovered it had samsung health app that would count my steps. I was also trying to lose weight as my bmi was 27 and was feeling obese. Other than the fact that it relaxes me I’ve seen no other effect. My bmi is still 27.
It’s fun to do it, but not really useful if you aim to better your health, i think.
I watched this and was thinking…….what a bunch of lazy whiners. Try 18 to 21 thousand everyday for the last 29 years for work.
I just started doing my 10k a day. My left hip kept hurting after 10 minutes of walking. Then I slipped some insoles with arch support into my sneakers and wow!
Grocery store is a good place to do steps and i love going. I think this generation is going DOWNHILL because now you can just pick up groceries from your car. Wtf.
We watch you as a family. My 3 kids laughed their tails off with you plopping on the floor as you went to sit on the seatless toilet…. Include your honest bloopers sone more please…speciawhen you’re crying from uncontrolled laughter as u narrate.… Greatto know about the inch you grew in height and calves.
10k steps? Just be a waitress for a month, you’ll get almost 20k steps every day
If they were donating money I would’ve skipped walking just to donate the money. I mean it’s a good cause
you can easily get 5-10 k steps right in front of your laptop or tv… thats how i do mine sometimes.. so many cool videos that you can follow along.. and its not just getting steps done but you are working your entire body with it as well..
They should get people that are actually gonna do the damn challenge lol no one actually did it
Just started doing 10k steps every day a week ago which is tough when you live on a mountain lol.
I used to work at McDonalds and I would walk 10k steps every day at work. And that was JUST at work. I have a sedentary job now and it’s hard to get in even 5k a day. I’m turning it around slowly though. I gained 10 pounds since graduating college, and my goal is to get rid of it.
If you have a physical job, nursing, working in a shop, watressing, it’s easy to get to 10k. I do 10k minimum a day.
If you were black it would have been an even harder challenge. even still, i worried for u walking in ur neighborhood in the early hours of the day with your hoodie up. im glad you were safe though. Sadly, i am too afraid to go out for walks now bc there have been hate crimes happening in my part of the world. Just the other day a black girl got hit by a car and left by a group of white men. I feel so stuck in my house but i want to be safe. scary times. thank u for taking us on the walk with you. i love your videos, it feels like i have someone to hang out with.
I didn’t like this video. I wanted more about did it transform your body, weight, what you ate, struggles.
This video had none of that.
Guys, move to London and you’ll have 10k steps before lunch time.
Omg you guys are lazy, 10,000 steps is easy af, had a fitbit for a week now and I’ve never gotten less then 15,000 steps and I’m not even that fit.
Fun video but too superficial could have be so much more informative.
10k everyday is nothing living in nyc…we walk everywhere
The most steps I’ve ever took in one day was 22000….because I got lost in a forest
Soooo….. Jamie can do this but she can’t commit to learning French for two months?
no hate tho
I walked 30k steps in a day once just hitting up the town with some mates
I like this group thing and then giving money to charity! That would be great for companies to do! I might have my teachers try it too. I have lost 95 pds in two years by walking and swimming. I have a polar loop that is water proof and counts laps. This summer I got lazy because it was too hot in DC to walk but now I’m back on it again. This video was fun to watch!
Hiking would be my absolute favorite daily exercise tbh. I wish I had the gas to go to the mountains every day, but walking will have to do for now.
I do 15k steps a day i dont have many places to go so i usually just treadmill on 12 incline that way its harder than walking on a flat surface. Im going to try to do this for a month and see how i feel if i can continue to do it i average on a day at 7k steps
I walk at least 10k steps a day normally, i don’t try it just adds up
Ill be honest, being near a college campus and pokemon go really helps with walking bc i didnt walk at ALL before
so basically nothing changed and this was a waste of my time. thanks!
Try to walk 20 miles a day! I lost 10 pounds in two weeks. This was also up hill, down hill, up stairs, down stairs and running across the road so you don’t get hit lol
It can be way harder when you don’t have a purpose behind it. I walk about 10000 steps a day at work ( #nurselife) but on my days off I don’t get anywhere near that unless I set myself goals and such.
When I was on vacation in Japan I always walked 10k or more, sometimes 30k and in one week I lost 2kg! Trust me it’s great if you want to lose weight, but I couldn’t do it back home since I have nowhere to go XD
In addition to walking, were you doing any other work out routines during this week? Great video! Thanks for sharing your results!
PLEASE re-do this challenge with Google Fit or SweatCoin app. It is much hard to get steps on these apps than with Fitbit device.
Everyday I’m at school I walk like 11k steps but on the weekends I walk like 200 steps!!
SUCH a great video! First of all, I ADORE Pomplamoose! What a fun (and random) surprise that they were part of this! I follow Autumn also, and I remember her video on walking, which you were a part of. Anyway, thanks for such terrific information I’m definitely upping my steps!
Your mom may have more luck if she turned the screen on. Just fyi
I wanted to know if they lost weight by walking but nothing about it in there?
lmao walking that much is pretty much an everyday life for a 13 yr old like me who walks to school
I literally do this Every day cause I literally live half an hour away from my school and we haven’t got a car soooo I walk everywhere
I walk 10,000 thousand steps at least five days a week, my job requires it. Sometimes I even do 20,000, but I also wake up at about 4:25 AM, and I usually have 10,000 steps at least by 8 AM
False pretense, how did it changed their life’s, it didn’t show. What the hell is wrong with BuzzFeed. That’s why I never subscribed to this crappy Channel
Walking 10,000 steps a day isn’t as hard as this video displaces it. I am 13 years old and currently have a Fitbit. And you don’t have to walk to work every day or go on a five-mile hike to achieve 10,000 steps a day. All you have to do is be a little bit more active in your day, and move around a little bit more.
