This was horribly oversimplified and misleading… Most popular chips don’t use hydrogenated oils, while most popular peanut butters actually do. This video has it backwards.

All vegetable oils are partially hydrogenated oils, including the ones touted as healthy. If you want to avoid this, go for butter, ghee or lard.
That makes NO DIFFERENCE, it’s all junk food and Americans eat so much then they complain about there own weight. That’s the society u live in because I’m not in the u.s yet.

Yes trans fats are bad. No LDL cholesterol is not bad. No apples and carots aren’t a healthier option since they do not provide healty fats. Gras fed / free ranged animal foods do.
Trans fats stiffen the cell membranes leading to cancer. LDL simply does its job trying to heal. When LDL is composed out of plant derived unsaturated fats or trans fats it will oxidize quickly in the blood. not so with saturated animal fats. so called vegetable oils lead to cancer and heart disease. The phrase “extends the shelf life” of a food means that it won’t spoil and that is because even bacteria and fungi don’t want to eat it. If it doesn’t spoil naturally then a food is not good for human consumption.
I hear not smoking cigarettes reduces the likelihood of getting one cancer. You gonna ban those too? How about you let people eat and drink what they want I’m fine if states want to be in a white New York good for them I don’t shove that down Alabama’s throat if they don’t want to. The information is correct. But you should have added why the food producer use trans fats instead of natural occurring fats for shelf life stability.
Originally the food produced back in the 1950’s did not know that the human body can’t breakdown trans fats and would be a major cause of heart disease, type 2 Diabetes, Obesity etc.

Whey & Milk have Cholesterol and Coffee Mate doesn’t have Cholesterol making it safer than Dairy. The Coffee Mate and Dairy both have 00.5g Saturated fat per serving which is far from the 1oz. Danger Dose of Saturated fat then 00.0 Trans Fat and 00.0 Cholesterol for Nestle Coffee Mate?

12 years ago, my favorite potato chip, Gibbles from York, Pa. included on their bag label the following. We use lard to fry our chips because it is safer than hydrogenated oils. They went on to describe the processing necessary to achieve the trans-fat miracle. I only hope they’ve survived the animal fat hysteria. I survived a heart attack, due in part to switching from butter to trans-fat popcorn. I’m back to butter & my heart rate & BP are normal again, thanx partially to beta-blockers & stents.

You wouldn’t have to ban things if every item was well labeled and people were more educated, but when it comes to nutrition Americans (including many health professionals) are stupid as bricks!
It’s simple: eat a whole foods diet.
No packages, no cans, no pre-made meals, no fast food. Just whole, fresh vegetables, fruit, raw nuts, legumes, some whole grains (in whole grain form), and lean meats. That’s it, simple, and most of America’s health issues such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc. will go away.
So now quit your whining and just do the hard work of weaning yourself from the S.A.D. diet (Standard American Diet), though it’s an agonizing process, once you adjust back to a clean palate you will find a whole food diet to be delicious, easy, and cheap!
