The Ornish diet is designed to be a heart-healthy eating plan. It not only restricts dietary fat quite severely (to less than 10% of daily calories) but also requires that any ingested fats come from purely plant sources. The pros and cons of the Ornish diet are difficult to follow in the first days of it. If you are persistent over time, then the reversal program can help to reverse Type 2 diabetes symptoms, reverse heart disease issues, and even reverse prostate cancer development.
The diet is low in fat, refined carbohydrates and animal protein, which Ornish says makes it the ideal diet. But it’s not just a diet: It also emphasizes exercise, stress management and.The Ornish Diet: Cons Because the diet is extremely low in fat of all types, it can be hard to follow long-term. Just turned 17 and started having weird symptoms like numbness, little fatigue, palpitations, chest pains, and i think high blood pressure. Had these all started within a week after smoking a dirty street marijuana cartridge my heart started racing like never before and left arm went numb. Its been over a week and started feeling better but still have symptoms. Ive always been a top class athlete and been relatively healthy until i started working. When i started working at 16 i ate pizza almost everyday for about 6 months straight. Now at 17 i think that was the main cause. Ive accepted this mentally and not scared to die but i want to live and experience life. Any recommendations?
He is not obese. He talks fast because he has a 40 minute presentation and about 17 minutes to present it. Read the China Study by Dr. T. Colin Campbell.
Great package of science based information from Dr. Ornish!
Only thing that isn´t up to date any more, is the information about fish oils. About those, check professor Tim Radak´s lecture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nne_fATFGfw&t=2s
Dean is the best lecturer and the smartest. Tells it the way it is no show man ship.
Hello Dr.
I want to know if a person is suffering from low bones density than what he should be the diet??
After 10 years in the keto/atkins world I went plant based on March 1st. Doing well with it but a little disappointed I haven’t lost any weight. any advice?
Fish oil is not essential. Fish get their omega 3 from plants. It is difficult to be deficient in Omega 3 if eating 1-2 tablespoons of flax seed meal or chia seeds and green leafy vegetables at several meals. There is also research that suggests that those on plant based nutrition become highly efficient in their own manufacture of omega 3. Patients on fish oil are also at increased risk for bleeding, and studies now indicate they are of no benefit for heart disease patients.
Its a very inspiring, informative and motivating and life chNging ecture ( I wish you could have made it in not such a hectic tempo ) But thank you for this very important talk
Take a good look at the authorities on the vegan diet Dr. Mc Dougal Dr. Mc Gregor etc. Then take a look at the carnivore Bart Kay, Dr. Saladino….who do you want to look like??? As the Chinese use to say won picture tells a trillion words…
Really, the difference between ILLNES and WELLNESS is deeply true.
Please help. Half of my thyroid was crushed. The doc wants to cut half of it out but I was wondering if it could heal… naturally somehow. Crushed side is swollen to large grape size. T4 is high. T3 normal. TSH low 0.01
28 months of vegan life. I’m 56 and just get on with my life. I don’t try to convert anyone but love talking open minded about living healthy through exercise and nutrition. Hope you’re all well. Stay happy and healthy during this new virus era. Peace
You are right, when we quit smoking and stop vices. However, when discuss the big fat meal, are you including processed foods and carbs with the fats? If so, that is a big confounding factor.
That’s why the Incas lived off of potatoes and quinoa. Teff is grown in the high plateaus of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Rice grows very well in all of East Asia and where it couldn’t be grown, buckwheat can (Japanese north island). Trade can pick up any slack and growing crops is more land efficient than feeding your food to your food.
Honestly still not clear on how this guy really died but it’s wrong to make people think it was due to his diet because we really don’t have all the facts about that. From Wikipedia: Atkins died on April 17, 2003, at the age of 72.[4] Nine days prior to his death, Atkins fell and hit his head on an icy New York sidewalk. At New York’s Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was admitted on April 8, he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain but went into a coma and died from complications. He spent nine days in intensive care before dying on April 17, 2003.[12][13]
A medical report issued by the New York medical examiner’s office a year after his death showed that Atkins had a history of heart attack, congestive heart failure and hypertension.[12] However, this report contained incomplete medical records. It was later revealed by Dr. Stuart Trager that Dr. Atkins did not have a history of heart attack; instead, Dr. Atkins had cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle disease that was probably caused by a virus, not by what he ate. [14] His widow refused to allow an autopsy.[14]
Why Ornish is wrong: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-almost-everything-dean-ornish-says-about-nutrition-is-wrong/
A century ago, it was said: “At whatever time highly-skilled physicians shall have developed the healing of illnesses by means of foods, and shall make provision for simple foods, and shall prohibit humankind from living as slaves to their lustful appetites, it is certain that the incidence of chronic and diversified illnesses will abate, and the general health of all mankind will be much improved. This is destined to come about.” ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Baha’i Faith
The guy who first got us thinking this way. Caldwell Esselstyn was also on-board, but hadn’t yet published his study.
Ich bin leider der englischen Sprache nicht mächtig und kann nur hoffen, dass die vielen wertvollen Hinweise von Dean Ornish baldmöglichst auch auf deutsche zu hören und zu lesen sind.
This video is the one that gave me hope that I could improve my cholesterol etc and helped me lose 100 pounds! After being on this change in eating lifestyle the Doctor suggests for a while, I no longer had blood sugar problems or cholesterol problems! It really worked! And it is so simple. It was worth exchanging bad foods for healthy ones! And I did start to feel better even after 1 week! It was a lifesaver for me!
For the elongated omega 3 fatty acid ( EPAB & DHA ) that might be needed to be supplemented after age of 50, it is better taken by a contamination free pill right from the algae source rather than fish oil
Dean l have been on a plant diet for more than a year a year but no change l have parkinsons disease what else can l do
it’s not the fat making you feel sleepy it’s the carbs. The Thanksgiving example is just one day where people eat a TON of carbs…
Amazing how Dr Ornish explain so accurately all the issues that we have very encouraging!
I personally hate slow presentations, so this was great! All of the info in a concise, clean manner. Thanks, Dr.!
Lol hahahaha Arnold should never be held up as an example especially if we’re talking being honest at best he’s trendy and at least he claims to be vegan
An excellent talk by a proven expert in lifestyle medicene and nutrition. “Medical science is only in its infancy, yet it has shown that our natural food is that which grows out of the ground.” ‘Abdu’l-Baha, Bahá’u’lláh & the New Era
Smart, brilliant man, but my God he talks fast. Well, At least his presentation is not peppered with “uh’s”. Obviously, no brain fog here.
This is VERY bad science mixed with new age rhetoric. The TYPE of fat is very VERY important and the carbohydrates mentioned should NOT include grains. He needs to read the research from Steve Phinney, Darren Schmidt and Paul Witerton Who will refute just about everything that was said in this misleading Ted talk.
Thank You Klous, Dr. O is Legendary…!
Whole plant based foods on Instagram mikewakethefoodup
This plant based vegan agenda is totally evil with all that logic, science, and compassion.
This guy just talks too fast! If he doesn’t slow down, he’ll be finished before he starts.
In my understanding the health is being compromised when both fats and carbohydrates are consumed together on a dayly basis. Acording our metabolic states that uses ketones or glucose for energy it must be understood that body can choose one at a time. So if one eats low fat high carb diet chooses the glucose side and if one chooses high fat low carb diet chooses ketone side. One should not mix these two metabolic states or he will get sick. Am i wrong?
Good day! I’m Courtney.I did -20 lbs in 2 month.Visit aidadiet.com
Why is Ornish wearing a toupee? Doesnt do much for his credibility.
This isn’t complicated. Keep protein and healthy fats high. Eliminate processed foods, especially processed and refined carbohydrates altogether. If it comes in a wrapper or box, don’t eat it. Minimize wheat, rye, grains, oats, and barley. Carbohydrates should come from fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and dark leafy greens. These also contain the vitamins and minerals which are essential. Eat smaller meals but eat more frequently. If you need supplements, get them from whole food sourced supplements from reputable companies. The body requires essential amino acids (proteins) and essential fats that it must acquire from outside, that it cannot produce on its own.
Whether you agree fully with Ornish or not on dietary details the man comes from a heartfelt/compassionate & humorous place.
for a while now i’ve been pushing the masai diet. the masai are a kenyan tribe that only live on food from cattle, milk, beef, and blood. I can’t get blood here in the states, so it’s only milk and beef for me. The masai have an important saying, “If a man eats meat and drinks milk on the same day, he is a glutton.” Hence each day I have to choose whether it shall be a milk day or a beef day. I myself always choose milk, so essentially i’ve been living on fluid milk products for the last six years. It has been fantastic for my health, I’m six feet, one inch, the last time I weighed I was 154 pounds, I do superbly on my annual physical. I think it’s good for mental health as well because milk tastes so good and it’s good to know when you drink it you’re doing something healthy for yourself. I’m pushing doctors to test the fluid-milk-products diet to see if it might help with various diseases, including biggies like cancer and AIDS.
Sorry Muth In Very Bad Smell Good Right Ask you Thank So Much Sir Google
Ornish really looks like a picture of health like the rest of the vegan Honchos. It’s the same and typical dribble you hear from these hungry vegan mouths.
What do you think of fix your high blood pressure issue inherently using Hybetez Remedy? I see a lot of people keep on speaking about Hybetez Remedy.
the reason not to believe arnold is that he took massive amounts of steroids to achieve his status. Basically cheated
It all works. I had angina, could barely walk my dog. I had lower back pain, knee pain, memory problems, edema, fat below the skin, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, border line glucose, ED and I did not lead a sedentary lifestyle (endurance athlete, national class) but when I hit my late 40’s, the house of cards started crashing in on me. I saw “Forks over Knives” movie and tried vegan diet. After just 4 months, angina symptoms disappeared. After 1 year all my issues disappeared. Then I went back to an omnivore diet. Gained a ton of weight, symptoms started returning, freaked me out. Switched back, never going back. Back in good health, lost the weight, now walking and hiking 10+ miles per day, excellent muscle tone. Feel great. Firm believer. It works. Don’t live to eat, eat to live.
Ornish looks unhealthy as fuck.. he might have cleaner pipes but I’m not convinced that this is a diet where human beings actually thrive. We didn’t evolve closely watching our fat intake, like a bunch of old women.
On the other side of the coin, people who eat healthy nutritous food and include healthy dietary fats (low PUFA, no trans or man made shite) have skin that radiates. Hmmmmmmmm. Yes, Ornish must be healthier.
@nexenta
Steve Jobs also had massive heavy metal and industrial chemical exposure over the course of two decades while involved in/around the manufacturing process of his hardware devices. You are misinformed, and to blame diet solely is very foolish.
I agree with the information on smoking. I quit, yet was still craving, but I started eating wfpb and no more cravings. Amazing!
What are some ways to cure your high blood pressure issue naturally? I read many great reviews on the net about how Hybetez Remedy will help you cure your high blood pressure issue inherently. Has anyone tried this high blood pressure treatment?
Look up “Sweden, Fat” in Google news. Sweden has made High Fat, Low Carb official government health advice. God Bless Sweden. That took a lot of guts. Ornish’s diet study was more full of holes than Swiss Cheese. Peer reviewed? More like approved by the priesthood. Worthless. He’s on the payroll of Pepsi and Macdonalds. He calls crackers whole foods, gives a shrug to angel food cake, and allows sugar on his diet. Dean Ornish, have you no sense of decency?
walnuts omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is very high. Fish have EPA and DHA.
this is the Steven Smith paper for anyone interested to pass on.

Dr. Dean Ornish is one of my all-time health heroes!!!
I read his book back in the 1990s and started making new lifestyle and eating changes/habits back then which have helped me in all areas of my life even until today!!
Thank you, Dr. Ornish for all of your hard work, Science, studies, books, programs, knowledge, intelligence and guidance that you are providing to those of us who are willing to listen and follow your lead!!
Much love, support and appreciation always!!
Hey there, have you heard of BellyFATtack yet? Simply search on Google. There you will discover a good free video by a recognized qualified health practitioner revealing the way to burn unwanted fat. It made it possible for Samuel to lose his abdominal fat. I will probably give it a try. I hope it will work for you also.
there was a bbc documentary that a high protein moderate carb and low fat meal can make one feel full longest.
Excellent presentation!!
The source of most health problems begins with the food we eat.
Health Care should be renamed Sick Care.
It is ironic that doctors are taught two things:
How to prescribe drugs
How to operate
They are not taught about the source of most health problems food.
Hello, have you come across ” BellyFATtack “? Just have a look on Google. On there you will find a beneficial free video presentation by a recognised medical doctor revealing the way to get rid of excess weight. It made it possible for Bianca to get rid of her abdominal fat. Perhaps it will work for you also…

Thank you. This is helpful. How do i best convince my girlfriend to try this with me? She refuses to and hates me asking. It has caused friction with our relationship.
Take a look at a recent picture of Loren Cordain and see if you want to follow a paleo diet
Seriously i cant believe we are still doing discussion with proponents of meat based diets. First it has been around for decades (atkins for example). Secondly it is cutting of calories which makes you lose weight. People who believe in miracle food are just plain stupid, and they are both sides. There is no inherent bad food and there is no super food. There is no magic, it is just science.
The Ornish Diet was admittedly not followed by most of the participants in Stanford’s study. They found it “too vegetarian” and consumed about 3 times as much fat as Ornish recommends. Those who actually did follow it to a tee lost on the order of 50 pounds. The real takeaway from this study is that fat people will probably have an easier time doing low carb than doing low fat plant-based.
Hello there, have you heard about “Belly Fat Quencher”? Just have a look at their website: BellyFatQuencher.com There you will discover an important free video by a well-known physician revealing the right way to reduce weight. It helped Samuel to reduce his belly fat. It might help you too.
I am surprised he mentions fish oils instead of vegan omega 3 or walnuts.
Just listen to your body it is the best doctor and advisor of what it needs. Eat what you crave and what makes you feel good. There’s no point in eating a salad if you are still starving for some protein and there is no point in eating protein when you feel like eating a salad.
In reading the comments while Ornish was talking I enjoyed seeing all the different responses to this talk. I enjoyed his talk immensely and I too have gone to a different type of diet after years of trying to control my weight through normal diet pills and exercise. Recently, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way I will ever feel comfortable in my own skin is through more vigorous training and while I agree with those meat eaters out there that say we were meant to eat it I don’t believe we were meant to eat the steroid injected, GMO and unnaturally raised animals and vegetables that are available to the average consumer.
Jesus wept! What a great video life changing. Gonna give it a go, maybe I’ll end up being able to speak like Dean Never saw him take more than two breaths, must be great for the lungs as well as the heart!! Tim
To say at 8:25 that weight gain is all about calories in and calories out shows me he knows nothing useful about diet. He’s stuck in the 20th century.
Steve Jobs used his cancer prevention diet. Steve Jobs died from cancer.
@ChaosKids512
That comment was not entirely serious and made over two years ago. I am well and truly “over it.”
OMFG the laughing REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!!!! Fucking dumb people!!!!!!!!
Dr. Ornish is the king of kings. Heavy weight category stallion!
Sabrina, a dallas based yoga professional, is a genius!!! She has helped hundreds of her students improve their lives.

This is really hard because I see so many friends and family suffering and they ignore nearly everything I try to tell them (doesn’t seem to matter how I approach it). People resist change and eating is very personal for a lot of people. Unless they gain a deep conviction of the truth through their own research and discovery they don’t see a need or have a desire to change their lifestyle.
Bill Clinton was pals with Epstien, so was Prince Andrew, they did evil shit there, that will be a hard stress factor to reduce
There are 2 primary causes for heart disease. The first being consumption of industrial seed oils. When these compounds mix with cholesterol it causes hardening. The second is artificial sugar of all types. If it’s not fruit or honey then you shouldn’t be eating it. Artificial sweeteners causes oxidation within the arteries when it comes in contact with cholesterol. It does not matter what type of diet you’re eating, if you remove these two compounds it won’t be able to interact with the cholesterol in your body which in turn greatly lowers your chance of having a cardiovascular event. It’s not b/c you’re vegan, keto, carnivore, frutarian or any other term you want to use to describe your diet. It’s simply b/c you removed the elements causing cholesterol to bind in your blood causing it to thicken and harden.
For what it’s worth I’m a bio chemist. I haven’t consumed any vegetables in 30 years. My primary source of food is raw milk and raw milk kefir which I make into smoothies with bananas and wild berries. This makes up 75% of my diet. I don’t take any vitamins, supplements, protein shakes or any of that BS. I get everything I need from raw milk and raw milk kefir. It is the only food on the planet for the human species that has every possible vitamin and mineral. No other food can say that. But more importantly it has the beneficial bacteria that is vital to your health and longevity. I’ve been consuming raw milk and raw milk kefir for over 40 years. I haven’t been sick in 30 years.
Yeah but Bart Kay has debunked vegetables, and….AND… set the fashion standard for MASSIVE glasses. (and cursing.) I think I know where to get MY advice, thank you VEEEERY much! I’m not gonna believe some corporate siantist shilling for big ag monocroppers, and Monsanto. We need to eat MEAT, all the time, at EVERY meal, and ONLY meat, only EVER meat #butcherbox and salt. MEAT. SALT. MEAT, and SALT. Did I mention the meat? Well, anyways….back to good old Delusionville, where I prefer to stay because bacon, tho.
My classmates laughed when I told them I would burn up fat with “Blazing Fat Loss”, but then I showed them the results. Go google “Blazing Fat Loss” to see their reaction. (You should see their shock!)
My recent burning question is something likeI no longer believe that cholesterol is the ‘thing’ we need to control to avoid heart disease. That said, both the plant based and animal based groups present gobs and gobs of anecdotal stories of countless people who have reduced or even eliminated things like diabetes, heart disease, etc. I’ve only been able to find some doctors (who are pro-low-carb, not plant based per se) who discuss how heart disease actually works. Nothing from the plant based guys (that I have been able to find) that says ‘here is why animal fat causes heart disease’ other than it raises cholesterol.
It seems an all plant based or an all animal based diet work to eliminate metabolic diseasewhich Ivor Cummins makes a great case about it being the true cause of heart disease and many other chronic issues.
So, the questionhow, specifically, does eating saturated animal fat cause heart disease to go up? (not a correlation type study, but a discussion on the actual mechanics of how the food goes into the body and causes various reactions that lead to the development of heart disease, please… otherwise it is just more feet stamping that I can’t seem to hear past…)
Thank you in advance!
I was on the Pritikin life style plan to return to army. It was Great! But you couldn’t live on it in the military at the time.. Now retired, after a week on the modified Pritikin ( Dr. Ornish) I my numbers are down big!
I didn’t know Arnold and Nicholas Cage were vegan. Both my parents had heart diseases. I’m 41 and considering going 100% vegan. Any advice?
Did you ask him about his unethical 1990 study which was totally wrong by pharma standards?
Did you ask him why he has not published any serious studies in last 20 yrs
I know I have high tri’s. Omega 3 fatty acids is one way for me to get healthier. Now that I have attained my Jenny Craig Weight I am going to increase vegtables, fish in my diet. Buying Omega 3’s on line appears to be the cheapest way to get them. I know I should just fish but there is a time factor.
Oh and what about dear old dr Steven Grundy who claims to be a leading heart surgeon and has as much proof regarding his way of eating.
I am on my 11th month on a plant based diet. I am very well and definitely find I have less headaches and allergies and am full of energy. I have no problem accepting the plant based way of eating is best but find it difficult to believe doctors like Eric Berg and Sten Elberg are wrong when they are as convinced as you are re plant based about the keto diet. How do we who know so little about what is and what is not healthy? Please help me to understand.
Its what saturated fats on the arteries from meat and eggs that is the issue, that doesnt happen with a plant based diet. Meat causes the arteries to stiffen which can lead to strokes, and high portein has been proven, scientifically!, to be a cause of certain cancers. I’ve seen a couple of videos from staunch Keto diets (4 years) who are now warning against the diet because they had suffered a stroke! Never mind the impact eating meat has on your gut microbiome…no wonder people are getting depressed.
He shows pictures of mouse arteries and says it is human arteries. Weak, weak, weak. Should be imprisioned for false info.
Removing animal products from the diet is a weak move, these guys are wrong.
Low carb diets:
Creating unverified anecdotes since 1977
If only we could do a study, we could prove how great they are!
Actually I am vegan but ( drfuhrman. com / library/ omega3_supplements. a s p x )
Read it
Oh I get it now! So eating fat doesn’t produce fat or lipemia in the blood, but only sugars do! Thanks, that makes sense! And who the fuck are you calling a nigga, you racist fucking piece of shit? Fuck yourself bitch.
Guys. treat your high blood pressure issue inherently does not need to be hard (I used to think it did). I will give you some advice right now. Look for a high blood pressure secret remedy called Hybetez Remedy (google it). Thanks to it I’ve cure my high blood pressure issue inherently. I probably should not even be talking about it cause I do not want a lot of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I’m just in a excellent mood right now so I’ll share the wealth haha.
Ornish makes some good points, but he is wrong about meat and saturated fat. How can humans be made sick by meat and fat, when humans have been living on it for over 2 million years, and all hunter gathers want to eat as much meat as they can? My Dad cured his Type I diabetes on essentially an Atkins diet.
I love the interview with legend Dr. Dean Ornish, but please keep the commercial for Food Revolution Summit off the end of the video. Not only does this promotion erode the non-commercial reputation of PBN, but this summit features dubious presenters like Dr. David Perlmutter who promotes keto diets, And Dr. Amen who advocates eating eggs.
Nonetheless, I love Plant Based News, and am a long time follower of your great work. Keep up the awesome videos, and interviews.
because we watched Schwarzenneger eat???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4M-Dwxib4g
Iam so thankful to people who really care in a meaningful way you are one Dr Onish.
Wisdom is only Godly given.
Dr. Ornish packs more facts into a sentence than most people do in a couple of paragraphs. I always feel like I have endured a mental workout after listening to him.
Excellent interview! I got to tell you I’m really enjoying your channel and the content! Thanks
For the record, the study ornish talks about at 6:53 from what i can tell it’s a mice study, and it used mice which had a mutation that made them more propense to develop artherosclerotic lessions (Apo-E knockout mice)
pnas.org/content/106/36/15418.long
He could be referencing something else, but i couldn’t find anything like this in human studies.
I will give him the benefit of doubt and assume he forgot to mention that detail
The war is over, Dean, and you lost it. You are an apologist for Con Agra, and a spokesman for MacDonald’s. But the case against saturated fat has been busted. You are a fraud. The only little bit of good you have done, is by talking a few people into starving themselves into a little weight loss. By force of will, a small number has been able to do that, for a while. I was one of them, until the high carbohydrate you sell destroyed my metabolism, so that I gained weight when I ate Anything, even as I was always hungry. Your day is done. Take your million$, go to your villa, and leave us alone.
Maybe he should have asked why its 1990 study “Lifestyle Heart trial” referenced so often, groups of people had different protocols, so unethical
Or maybe you should have ask him why he was rated the WORST of 14 major diets studies in the lastest March 2020 BMJ journal https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32238384
so sad people
He basically found the cure for heart disease, the number one killer. This should automatically give you the Nobel prize in Medicine. He could share it with Caldwell Esselstyn.
How can a low fat, low sugar plant based diet be low sugar. FACT: All carbs are sugar. All carbs are sugar.
Dropped from 175 to 155 pounds in 3 1/2 months simply going vegan. Back to my college weight
Don’t advise fish oil. It’s better to get omega 3 from sea algae which is what the fish eat. Also fish is contaminated with Mercury, PCBs etc so better to take plant based omega 3.
My husband died with prostate cancer so I’m spreading the plant based message whenever and wherever I can.
I’m finally at the last of my fat retreat foods…oatmeal cookies. I never do but I could eat the whole damn package and it’s 15 grams of saturated fat….not good…but not horrible either. That’s the final thing for me. The last dragon to slay. I’ve made Rip’s dumpster fire cobbler and it’s delicious. Have to start making my own oatmeal cookies that are healthy.
He fails miserably to separate processed proteins from more natural ones. In studies with un-processed proteins, his theory falls flat.
There are also people who smoke 2 packs a day and don’t get lung cancer. It doesn’t mean that smoking isn’t a problem. Refuting clinical research studies to anecdotes is not an apples to apples comparison
CAN VICTIMS OF COVID19 WHO HAVE HEART ISSUES FOLLOW THIS PROGRAM IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR THEM?
LIAR LIAR LIAR
Your own Brother is disgusted by your FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve
Its processed foods, over consumption, and low activity that kill.
I am looking for the study that Dr. Ornish was talking about at the 6:50 mark. What’s the title of that study?
@pdema030 you are god, and all that is, ying and yang etc…because nothing is separated from you. you don`t understand science, only what you get at a supercial level or what is convenient for your curent beliefs:) Because being atheist is fundamanelist belief system, has nothing to do with science, the scientifc procesees to be exact etc. You may do well enough with a fundamentalist belief system, based on leaps of faits..indeed, but it`s better with progressive understanding of the esence.
Great video brother. Let’s shut down these slimy animal product producers!
Dr Dean Ornish needs to be recognized more in Nutritional Science for his achievements
not have trolls take the lime light in the comments section below with their nonsense
Arnold built his body on beef, eggs, cottage cheese, and plenty of steroids. So now he eats plants, big deal.
Before humanity was wearing clothes we lived in an environment filled with fruits and vegetables that were more delicious then anything we have in our current grocery stores. The piles of s*** being subsidized and fed you are sick livestock and of course average consumers in the form of processed garbage are the cause of this epidemic. There are few healthy fats. Most of wich are obtained in plant foods. Its about nutrition not about brotien sales. No one gets fats from fruits and veg. They get fat from processing shir food
Anybody know what is Hybetez Remedy about? I hear many people cleanse their high blood pressure issue naturally with this high blood pressure secret remedy.
I love it! A 30 minute presentation done in 17 minutes.
It helps to be intelligent and highly articulate!
Humans, for the most part, are following the evidenced-based science for the unfolding climate catastrophe and the COVID-19 pandemic, but, not when it comes to the evidenced-based science of food nutrition, alas! Keep it going Klaus.
I think everyone is different. We all hear the stories about people eating eggs and bacon everyday of their lives without problems. So, some peoples bodies seem to handle fat better than others. Why the hell would you take the chance on being one of the lucky ones when you don’t have to? The only chance you take with being a Vegan is getting healthier and saving a lot of animals at the same time. No brainer to me.
AS ALWAYS….ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO FROM PBN
As many know, I like to share this personal story….
I am from TEXAS….land of MEAT and DAIRY….and yes, for 50 years I was a die hard everyday meat and dairy consumer.
25 years ago I was hit by a car riding my bike and it damage (broke) to my pelvic bone and clavicle and moved my lower spine over a half inch. I lived with it and the extreme daily pain for 25 years. Being an ex army ranger i was a tough guy and i suffered the pain but over time i got weaker…much much weaker and i gained weight, became a drug addict to pain killers, heroine, meth and cocaine. Then one day I went to the doctor for the men over 50 full physical and got some terrible news. Along with my pain, obesity and drug addiction i was also type 2 diabetic with DANGEROUSLY high blood pressure.
Promptly my doctor put me on more meds and said I needed to make an immediate life style change or i was going to die. She said I had done irreversible damage to my once powerful body. When I was 50 i had my first child (AN AWESOME BEAUTIFUL BOY) and I wasn’t going to live long enough to see him grow into a man. IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE…
For the next three weeks I did some intense study and got turned onto a movie called GAME CHANGERS and FORKS OVER KNIVES by a channel called PBN (plain based new) and the WHOLE FOOD PLANT BASED DIET.
AND CHANGE I DID…IMMEDIATELY.
In just under four months time i lost 30lbs, I began feeling healthier and stronger. I quit doing all the harmful drugs and started working out. My next doctor visit was nothing short of SHOCKING to my doctor and myself.
My diagnosis was amazing….My blood pressure was back to normal and i was no longer diabetic. I dropped 40lbs of weight and gained 10lbs of solid muscle mass.
Now I work out 5 times a week with the dream of being a 60 year old competitor with a story to tell. Im 53 now and in my book thats one hell of a accomplishment.
I have since made it my purpose in life to share this story with everyone I can in hopes of inspiring change not just in those who need it but in everyone.
If i can do this, YOU CAN TOO.
I will never go back to my bad lifestyle and I WILL watch my son grow up.
NOW I CHALLENGE and and ALL of you to do BETTER!
ONE WORLD=ONE LOVE
Awesome video, I’m all about healthy living! Thanks for the info!
Good that prince Charles is interested (although Camilla recently said that diary free diets increase risk of osteoporosis!!??). These plant based doctors (and their important message) are not well know in UK this needs to change. Hopefully PBN can facilitate?
People love hearing good news on their bad habits.
Dean Ornish is the man! Such a great spokespersons
This is great information! It’s awesome that a channel like yours exist!
No way I’m listening to this man. His machine-gun speaking makes me nervous.
I’m 63, and I ride my bike around 13,000km each year, 30km each day commuting year round and longer weekend rides. Oh yeah, I’ve been vegan for 12 years.
I’m not a fanatic but I eat a balanced plant-based diet which includes lots of greens, root vegetables, fruit, grains, beans, sprites, nuts and healthy oils. And the odd bag of chips or slice of vegan pizza, LOL!
My cycling improved after I went vegan: I felt faster, more powerful and lighter on my bike.
I am as healthy as a person my age can be. Good diet and good fitness = great health and long life.
How come I feel better when I’m as far as possible from plant based?
I eat mostly animal products and a good amount of animal fats. Alongside a piece of fruit a day and a few selective vegetables with no grains and very little carbs/sugar.
Still whole food-plant based 3 years now. Got my lipids checked one last time and now I won’t worry about it. LDL is 75 and total is 124. Triglycerides: 59. The best thing was doctor approval coming off blood pressure medication which also lowered my high resting heart rate. Both normal. No meds for life. Weight: 55 pounds lost: 1/4 of bodyweight. Healthy weight and feel awesome. I am light!!!!!
A low fat plant based diet and a non sedentary lifestyle goes a long way. Still people who are not heart surgeons from Harvard try to argue that eating meat is good
Loki(broccoli) are VERRY helpful heart deasase, overweight we Indian know that last 5000 year.ARJUNA tree are better than broccoli.
Great info!
T2D/8 years post massive MI. Now 8 days on plant-based vegan. About 10 previous years was on low carb/keto.
Learning and changing. And energy level is up. Not testing blood sugars yet because I might stop the diet(: But I will start soon.
Big learning curve, but I’m learning to love this clean eating. And bonusit’s SO cheap.
My sugar cravings are gone with eating all this yummy fruit. Clothes are getting loose. Hate/hate relationship with scale so I may ignore it(:
Thank you, doctor, for your incredible work. I bought your first book when it first can out but made no changes then because I thought it would be too hard. Not hard at all! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. 72 now!((ginny))
Wow, this man is a genius, and his speech is a gathering of well formulated facts, each and every of which he could unwind into a multiple hours of detailed information.
unless you are addicted who would want to be cut open! I wish they do more to help auto-immune, i know it is similar. Tx doc for pushing government and insurance companies to help and not hurt patients.
I excellent common sense info. If only intelligent politicians and doctors would believe this
He us telling the truth. His diet has helped me through illness back to health.
I don’t know how good it is to have an endorsement from “Bill Clinton”?!! (Serial sex addict and criminal…) but all the same; terrific work and how wonderful his ethics are and also what a wonderful ripple effect throughout the world!
Be encouraged vegans and WFPB guys!
Great information but a shame he had to speak at a pace so fast I’m exhausted from just listening.. Hardly something that can be expressed in 15 minutes.
Plant based nutrition no cholesterol oil saturated fats processed foods people eat meat cholesterol diabetes blood pressure
It must be very tough when everything you have been preaching for decades has been 100% discredited. Low-fat diets, promoted by Ornish since the 1980’s, is what has destroyed our health.
I’m an evangelical vegan. Im a urologist but tell all my patients about it and give flyers on the diet. I have had some good responses including minorities. I’ll risk offending others because i’m giving them good information.

The people commenting that he’s incorrect about eating fat must not have fully watched the video. He says you should eat healthy fats, and not unhealthy fats. Pretty obvious. Healthy e.g. nuts, avocados, omega 3. Unhealthy e.g. saturated fat, red meat, etc.
Dean Ornish is a brilliant speaker but sadly he is mistaken about the fats in our diet.

3 years ago I went on the Starch Solution which I think is fairly similar to Ornish, maybe stricter. I was on a blood pressure medication to previously control high blood pressure and high resting heart rate. 160/100 and over 100 resting heart rate. It was controlled to about 120/80 or 120/75 and heart rate was healthy, I believe around 75. Is that good, though, treating the symptoms?
Instead of ‘mopping up the floor’ by treating symptoms with Atenolol, I decided to ‘turn off the overflowing faucet’ by fixing the food.
I went Starch solution and after about 6 months I decided to give it a shot and drop the med. Heart rate yesterday at the machine at Walmart showed 113 / 78. Heart rate is 71 resting. I have measured at 120/83 a few days back but it’s usually below 80 diastolic. I’m happy. no more meds, and my LDL is 75, just checked yesterday. Total is 124 and Triglycerides are 59. HDL is 37, but close enough. As Esselstyn says, ‘virtually heart attack proof’ when total is below 150, but others say LDL of 75 shows it even stronger.
Mcdougall says: “It’s the food”. It’s easier to focus on one thing and make it that which can have the biggest impact. However, exercise is very important to reach the pinnacle.
I stαrtεd ουt sticking with this hypεrtεnsiοn sοlutiοn “Sοyutο Weebly” (Gοοɢιε it) α fεw dαys αgο αnd nοw hαvε αlrεαdy fουnd α pοsitivε chαngε in my blοοd prεssυrε! It dεfinitεly is stαbilizing!!!
