The MMA Workout You Can Do at Home Shadowbox. The shadowboxing portion of your workout is optional, depending on how much time you have. Shadowboxing is Heavy Bag Work. Heavy bag work can be done by yourself or with a partner—the choice is.The Guru’s At-Home MMA Workout.
We previously talked about HIIT workouts in our Lose Weight With MMA Article. This type of workout has the same concept. Shadow Boxing or Jump Rope 30-45 seconds, 30 second break. Burpees 30-45 seconds, 30 second break.
Shadow Boxing or Jump Rope 30-45 seconds, 30 second break.Cardio, muscular endurance, core strength, balance and grip strength are all crucial for MMA, so any exercise that builds these aspects of fitness will help you be a better MMA fighter Explosive hips are also important, kettlebells are great for this if you are training at home.Here is a quick dumbbell circuit workout used by MMA fighters for endurance that you can do anywhere, all you need is two dumbbells.
The circuit emulates a five minute, three round fight. Don’t go too heavy on the weights, start out with a lighter weight and go up if the weight is to easy.The workout consists of a warmup, a circuit workout, and an additional set of grip-strength moves. The circuit workout comprises five stations, each with its own set of exercises designed to be done back-to-back. Do as many reps as possible at each station in five minutes, rest 60 seconds, then move on to the next station.
Put both of your hands behind your head and repeat the exercise. Push backward while resisting the pressure for fifteen seconds. Next you need to put your left hand on the left side of your head.
Push your head to the left for fifteen seconds before repeating the exercise on your right.Additional Gears. If you have mats to train and have an extra budget, plyometrics will help you step up your game so you can have more effective workouts.

I ran 5 miles a day Monday to Sat come home shower then go to work 8 hours go to dinner 2 hours later go to gung-fu studio train 4 hours I fought twice a montr ten years no losses. learn JKD Chinese gung-fu and escrima from well known teachers. on my Sundays I ran ten miles shower go to church relax. help with my second wind to last ten rounds. This 18 minutes you should be ashamed of yourself to call yourself a fighter, you wouldn’t last with a calibar like me. minutes
Done this workout today 3 sets with 1 min rest between series. Felt sick half way through. I’ve competed in mma and bjj tournaments and this workout is the closest I’ve come to replicating that instensity outside of live sparring. When I did this for the first time, it nearly killed me. after a month it got a bit easier, make no mistake this is quite a tough workout but it just goes to show how much consistency affects you. Thanks for the workout, Sean!

This is awesome and no doubt good training for anyone not just for combat sports like mma! I also love natural natural movement/parkour training as well which also involves elements of this style of training along with lots of climbing, jumping, quadrupedal, swinging etc, the Beaty of it is like this it can be done anywhere and also out in nature. The natural world becomes your free gym full of some of the best equipment ever! Eg trees, rocks and rock formations, logs, stones various terrains etc! Workout variations and intensities are endless only limited by imagination and abilities! At 56 years old I use this style of training along with some weight training to keep myself as physically and mentally young as possible! Also combat training and martial arts are also great for maintaining your physical capabilities as one ages.
And there I was fighting my own shadow… It’s tough, like the concrete.

Finally a trainer who resembles real world scenario of being in shape. I’ve been training so long off and on for years that I can usually tell what type of athlete or training a person has been doing by the shape of their body, dexterity, and physical limitations. MMA and calisthenics are great ways to perfect balance, agility, awareness of surroundings, and form. Form is another attribute I have yet to see on Youtube until I stumbled onto your channel. Bodybuilders’ form during the exercise is different then calisthenics because most bodybuilders have limited dexterity causing certain motions outside of their normal training to look awkward. I’m still teenager, but I want to learn and get my body used to martial arts. So I’m planning on starting with this. (Since I’m not sure if my parents can really get me into a martial arts school). Shane it sounds like your on the right track. Beginners and young men and women this is great. 25 years ago this wouldn’t been any problem. But at 47 I can feel it and it works. I’ve been studying martial arts for 33 years and have earned black belts in three different styles. I love to stay in shape and find your video’s helpful. Stay strong.

The question your feeble minds frail bodies may be able to handle, is who souls and spirits have paid out are picking up the tab on the end results of dirty low-paying jobs that come from outdated power sources, inferior materials, poisonous, toxic substances, pesticides and chemicals that never change their killing composition which means simpleton whether it is a solid, liquid or burnt off into our airways atmosphere as a vapor it is always going to be poisonous debilitating deadly to the body at the same time polluting corrupting devastating to the planet Earth and all the various different forms of life that live within this world. There is no profit to be made in the demise of the world. Even worse primarily due to those dirty low-paying jobs for the last hundred and 50 years or so the mass majority of the population has been living dying yielding the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested from life. Since the beginning of life. Which is sad, pathetic and ignorant beyond retarded considering we have always had the man/woman power, technology, resources, substances and capabilities to create clean high-paying jobs from coast-to-coast that would improve upon and maintain the quality of our air, water, foods, landscapes, working and living environment, every day home products, habitats and ecosystems.
Yoo, this is pretty good and what I was looking for and I might add some abs exercies there but I cant throw kicks in the air because I live in an apartment and I’m a big dude so I will only do those from time to time when im not home. One question, is it good to train your punches against a wall?

you need to work on your second wind try running, also your kicks look weak and no power. In this workout you are breathing hard, you shouldn’t if you claim as a fighter

I’m a 10 year mma vet who was skeptical of this but needed a low impact high intensity workout that could compliment my actual mma training. Have to say I couldn’t recommend this workout enough and it’s a great supplement to my training. Keep it up man!

Hey Sean, i was Thaiboxing in a Club like 1 year before Corona curfew, 3 times a week. For homework, i watched your video and i learned really important stuff from you. When i am back at my Club, i’d like to introduce this as a warmup in my Club because they train much too less footwork there. Do think its ok to just warmup about 15 mins skipping, some crunches and pushups before starting your 15 mins workout?

this is a cray cary workout!! I did your Ultimate Warrior 30min workout earlier and then turned around and ate alot so I wanted something to burn off those extra memorial day calories and this did it!! VERY intense workout but what got me was those damn sprawls! ugggh my shoulders where fatigued and felt heavy as hell!! I made it to the end and hand nothing left. I literately looked like I just got out of a pool I was covered in so much sweat. That was yesterday and I looked at my workout mat today and it STILL has sweat on it from this workout! LOVE IT!! You should do a 60min MMA workout

This help me out to keep my body through the process of my heart in check. Including my dad, jerry. He showed me one of these type of exercises. Not really scary but tired but i have to say it was fucking awesome.
I haven’t done this one in awhile. Geez I forgot how fast and hard it is. I used 4lb weights as well. Next up a 30 Min Tabata with a 30 min cool down walk and I’m done for the day. Thank You Coach.
Hi shane good video but this is not plyometric workout.Plyometrics are faster movements for exmple when wou drop down from chair or smothink and quickly jump high as possible and the ground contact is not longer than 0,2 sec.This is more srenght workout i think.

Attended my first Muay Thai class today. It was INTENSE! Puked twice lol but I kept pushing. I watched some of your videos on repeat a couple weeks leading up to the class and they really helped me! Unfortunately because of covid it’s only once a week for now but man I can’t wait to go back

60 sec each exercise is excessive in my opinion and it compromises form (unless you are really fit). I prefer to keep it at 40 sec with 20 rest and do 3 full rounds. Awesome workout.
My own workout has gotten super stale, so this is a great addition, esp during quarantine! Cheers for this, though my muscles are cursing you out.

I have to revisit this one. The moves were very fast and the switch leg killed me. I pride myself on being fluid & graceful, but this 1 shot that to pieces & felt like I have 2 left feet with obstacles in the way. However, I LOVE it and it’s so great for my mind. I started “working out” with HASFIT last August because my doctor said I had high blood pressure ans was overwight at 216 lbs. at 5′-9″. I have gone through all of his routines and have lost 30 pounds. My blood pressure is down to 120/80. I also cut out salt on all of my food and eat healthy. But the best of all is I am 60 years old! My wife is 49 and she says I look like I’m 40. I enjoy all of his workouts and change it up all the time. Thanks.

Hey Shane, I think there is a small miscalculation. I think it should have been 20sec, 10sec rest, x9….if it was x8 then we would miss the last hindu push up.
That was fantastic! Really tough and varied. I especially enjoyed the wrestling-inspired floor work, & your motivational words helped push me till the end!
At about 15:14 I was spent. Granted, I’m somewhere between “beginner” and intermediate. And did a 20 minute workout before this. But I’m writing this comment so I can see where I left off before, and try to get at least 7 more minutes in. Then build from there. Brutal workout. Great job.
