Mirror’s closest competitor is probably the Tonal, a sort of vertical Bowflex that mounts onto the wall and unfolds its metal appendages into whatever configuration the selected workout demands.Mirror Home Gym review: This $1,500 Peloton rival is practical, but imperfect Mirror looks like a piece of home decor, but inside is a world of strenuous workout classes. The immediate Peloton parallels are obvious: Like the wildly popular biking (and treadmill) system, Mirror allows access to trainer-led workouts and a group class feel from the comfort of your own home. The fact that its subscription is 200 a month. Id rather just build a six pack myself. You can get an apple watch and it has a heart rate monitor so ypur ser if you have an iphone of course.
Is it designed is such a way that it can be repaired if it breaks, or do you throw the whole thing away?
Thank you for an honest review…really considering purchasing it especially considering corona virus and our new normal….no mask needed at home.
New generation, lets see I need a $1500 mirror to work out LOL
$1500 still 2 years later after its release. No way I would pay $39.95 a month. I like the tech though I want a Google mirror assistant in my bathroom like in scifi movies from the 90s
Samsung or Google should buy Mirror and integrate it with their Fitness services/products
Lululemon buys Mirror for $500 million https://news.crunchbase.com/news/lululemon-to-buy-mirror-for-500m/
Remember when the telescreen yelled at Winston when he wasn’t doing his calisthenics?
Moderation is perhaps the governing concept for a Christian view of bodybuilding/weightlifting. First Timothy 4:8 teaches, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come” (emphasis added). Physical fitness is important, and as this verse states, it does have some value. We are physical and spiritual beings, and the condition of the physical body undeniably can impact the spirituality of a person. Surely part of “glorifying God in your body” (1 Corinthians 6:20) is keeping it in reasonably good physical condition. Bodybuilding can definitely be a part of a Christian’s physical fitness program.
At the same time, as with many things in this life, bodybuilding, if taken to the extreme, can become an idol. Eventually, a point is reached where there is no true value in adding more muscle. Bodybuilding/weightlifting can become an addiction and/or obsession. While this is much more often an issue with men, it can be an issue for women as well. Striving for bigger and stronger muscles, taken to the extreme, is nothing but vanity (1 Samuel 16:7; Ecclesiastes 1:2; 1 Peter 3:4). Once we allow our physical appearance to become more important than our relationship with God, it has become an idol (1 John 5:21).
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). The key question is does bodybuilding/weightlifting glorify God? If it is done to increase fitness, strength, and tone, and thereby health, yes, it can be done for God’s glory. If it is done out of vanity and pride, or from an unhealthy obsession with getting bigger and stronger, no, it does not glorify God. How should a Christian view bodybuilding? “‘Everything is permissible for me’—but not everything is beneficial. “‘Everything is permissible for me’—but I will not be mastered by anything…. ‘Everything is permissible’—but not everything is constructive” (1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23).
Gian Giorgio Trissino
Both I and J were used interchangeably by scribes to express the sound of both the vowel and the consonant. It wasn’t until 1524 when Gian Giorgio Trissino, an Italian Renaissance grammarian known as the father of the letter J, made a clear distinction between the two sounds.
Works in front of a regular mirror too. Saves 1500 dollars too.
I’ve got a question? What happens if the company goes belly up? Will you be left with a $1500 dollar mirror? It’s not like buying a treadmill and the company goes belly up. You can still use the treadmill.
very cool idea. probably will do very well with commercial contracts. Monthly fee probably flies in NY and California. Nowhere else though. Should come with a standard base of non-live workouts at no cost and permanently available as a memory stick/card plug in to the screen. Save the monthly fee for live instructors. At that point, you can profit away for a $120 40 inch LCD monitor plus $100 for the custom inards at the $1495 price. Otherwise, IPad plus larger mirror wins here.
People will push their self at the gym more when people are watching and it’s less expensive
For that price to get in, you’d think they could get away with $20 a month for the subscription…It’s nice…I’d like one, but think I’ll hold off for Mirror 2.
Have you tried peloton? It’s better than the mirror with a lot more options.
I’m really glad you did this review. I was wondering if I wanted one or not and it really helped to see it in “action”. Now that gyms don’t seem to be opening any time soon I was hoping that you would consider trying more home fitness machine and tech options!!!
So many cynical comments. We get it, you think you’re clever. If someone wants to, and can afford to, pay $1500 to exercise, then that’s better than not exercising. The idea of saving the gym commute time, and not having to find, think about, or curate work out videos…instead all provided in a single package is attractive. If you cant afford the price, or want to do all that prep yourself, go for it. You can buy a burner flip phone for lots less than an iPhone…..you can look up all that smart phone info on your laptop and still make calls with a burner phone. But i’d bet most the cynics here use a smart phone that cost them $700+ Convenience in one package, via technology, is what you’re paying for.
WOW, NEW GENERATION NEEDS A $1500 MIRROR TO WORK OUT, WHAT A JOKE.
Yay, Hay!!!!
That plant, though! I hope you all let it know you are grateful for it’s contribution as well. It is so beautiful!
Namaste
What if I walk buy it naked by mistake will the instructor laugh at me I’m telling ya
Great idea but the average person isn’t going to spend that much. It would be better marketing if the price wasnt so high in these things and youd probably get more people in on it cause the cost wouldn’t be so high. It is a great idea for those who cant afford the time to go to a gym and get a personal trainer.
If you can see the trainer from the side and mirror their motions this isn’t totally terrible. Pricey but being able to literally see if you are doing the moves correctly would help reduce injury for lifting in particular.
Buuuuuut, at 1500 dollars you could actually get a few months of professional training at even a fancy Gym. Where a real person can help you get a routine going with your body and your needs. So yeah, unfortunately I think this is more of a novelty than anything.
I wouldn’t be mad if I had one though.
I have the mirror (got it at Christmas time for less than 1000.00) got it installed in February. I LOVE it. I have increased my workout time by a LOT. I have almost no free time (so going to the gym was never an option available to me) and I was doing youtube videos before this. It’s motivating to see how many calories I’ve burned, it tells me when to push harder (if I’m wearing the heart rate monitor) and I can find a workout in seconds (compared to the time I used to spend on youtube searching though I did love the tabata workouts). Music also plays and it tracks your progress for the week. Because it is interactive (even when the class is not live) and because there are so so so many choices of workouts (from type (strength/kickboxing/yoga etc), to level (beginner to expert) and time 5 min to 45 min) I’ve found it to be invaluable. I love that I can come home after a long day and want to get just 15 min in of xyz work out and I can just quickly select type of workout, length and level and boom I have a workout). I can also pick the instructors. Totally worth the investment.
..or you can put your iPad on the wall next to a standard mirror. Then you have access to the whole App Store. All else fails Planet Fitness starts at $10 a month.
This is nothing against you; it’s against Tonal. As you say, a true hardcore athlete wouldn’t get enough out of it. So, an average Joe who clearly isn’t… As passionate about lifting… Asking them to spend 4,000 up front and continually 50 per month is ridiculous. A regular gym membership being about half that per month. This should just be focused towards celebrities or other rich people who don’t want to go to Public gyms or just can afford it
For 1500.00 plus 40.00 extra a month, the answer to “is it worth it” better be “yes and yes”.
And since Social Media “Influencers” are pushing it, it must be legit.
Everyone lives in very expensive homes 1,000,000 and more and can afford to work out with this Mirror. This Mirror is way out of touch for us common people, like me. Membership is a joke and not customized to the Individual needs. 2020 no thank you!
A word of caution: I would be careful letting a camera come into your home and be Hacked. Something to give thought too.
Subscription being a requirement means you are basically renting the equipment for life!
Rip off people, go to planet fitness for $10 per month. Train much better and cheaper. This is technology that eventually will be out dated. You will use it for few weeks then will be just a hanging picture in your house.
Thank you for returning that.
It’s not that it was too expensive… It’s just that it felt more like an idea in search of a problem. And a VERY expensive one at that!
99% of public can get more out of doing push-ups, body weight squats, and walking. This is a scam that you can’t even hang clothes on!
Membership requirement, and excess software that so often has bugs, 200 pound limit… is what kills it for me.
Mirror blocked both me and my wife on Facebook and twitter for posting our experience with their shitty customer service and bots. The website states the your should bet you $1500+ product in roughly 10 (business) days. 3 days to contact you on and 7 for delivery. After a week, my wife tried contacting them because we had heard nothing from them. Their garbage bots kept responding with automated message about holiday demand and never could give us a delivery date. Finally they are currently estimating over 2 months for delivery and the website still days 10 days.
We posted on their social accounts, I guess they don’t like when people highlight the real experience.
I am temped to wait for delivery just to force them to come back to pick it up during the 30 day trial on principle alone…. shittiest customer service I have ever experienced. Not what you would expect from a faux luxury product targeting high income individuals.
We also have the a peloton… awesome service all around and awesome classes. Take your money and go with the peloton 100%.
Thank you for this video. It’s really helpful to see what if I had the Mirror.
One quick question is “Does it give you feedback and coaching movements as you do exercise?”
Ah… One more question! How do you do workout these days? Do you use the Mirror more? Is it effective now?
I guess I’m confused with what the subscription gets you. Is the only way you have the guy on the screen show you how to do a move is with the subscription or is that built in with every type of workout? Does the subscription get you a live personal trainer?
The cost is high but something like this would be great for a person like me. I don’t work out much because I’m very bad with my movements and I come home exhausted from a long day at work and it’s just hard for me to get motivated when I can’t do things properly. So all the guys who say just go to a gym that’s just not going to happen for me because of my line of work and time. I try to do some stuff at home with a barbell and dumbbells but I think my movements are bad, I’m awkward. I don’t stick to plans very well. Something like this would actually be great for me. The price sucks though but if I were to spring for this I don’t want to pay an extra $600 a year on top of four freaking thousand dollars.
Great condition and awesome workout! This is what I drink after check out this https://youtu.be/z6GAhr3hc4k what do you think??? Let’s get healthy together. Hit that subscribe button
If you have no Internet than the marror is useless also it’s smarter to just do an app on your smart TV
Thank you for this review. I’ve been eyeing this workout mirror
It honestly seems like an unnecessary expense.
For one you can buy a full length mirror for less than $100 and place your phone in front of it or really anything you can play FREE workout videos on… and having the tracker watch you don’t really need the VERY scammy, inaccurate calorie counter. Overall it just doesn’t seem worth the expense. I can see where actual workout equipment can eventually pay itself off because you’re able to do something from home that you can’t really do from home any easier, cheaper or more convenient. Of course going on a bike ride is cheaper( usually) but that defeats the purpose of not having to leave the house.
Glad you returned it. Because even now when gym access is either unavailable or highly restricted it still doesn’t seem worth the swap.
A tempo mirror…. I would think they could watch me too!!!
To actually interested in this product because it looks cool / future style. Just search making a magic mirror. You can easily make your own type thing to this for cheap, if you want to get creative.
Hey Shelby, thanks for the insightful video. Of your friends who work out, how many of them do you think would also prefer going back to the gym vs. buy a mirror? Who do you think would benefit most from the mirror? Thanks, Jesse
Great review! I have a question. Is there a way to select a single type of exercise and start quickly? For example, if I want to walk up and do a quick set of lat pull downs, can I pull up a menu option set the weight and get started? or would I need to engage in an entire exercise routine?
A couple details I forget to mentionthe mirror usually always have a sale going on, so never pay full price! The mirror itself is $1495, and there’s a monthly subscription fee of $39. You can mount it on your wall or just use the stand (like I did). Hope you enjoy the video, and let me know if you have any other questions!
The mirror is too gimmicky. I’ll stick with the free workout videos on YouTube.
I found a better and cheaper way to exercise using my old xbox and kinect. I purchased Nike kinect fitness game and I loved it. It follows and correct my exercises using kinect camera. It also designed an exercise plan according to my resistance. It keep track of my program. The mirror looked more like watching videos thought an expensive mirror. Is just my opinion I don’t know if the mirror uses a camera so it can track your movements like xbox kinect..
Interesting gadget. However, I agree that $40 is way excessive, not counting that now Lululemon has direct advertising into your home.
So you could just buy the mirror then stream the free YouTube videos instead of their overpriced clases?
all these things that get into your home and lock you in from the world, work from home, have friend meet ups online at home, shop from home. No give me a gym with classes serious weights both the cabled kind and free, people to talk to instructors to ensure I am keeping good form.
Being part of a social real life place to thrive in and then go home to enjoy returning to my lovely home. The cost is eyewatering and you will be giving this company a whole load of stats about your and your lifestyle to sell. This notion of not having enough time too do anything for yourself outside of your home and work, selling time is now a commodity. Nah real world for me please.
Is that your bedroom? Does your wife love the sound panels?
Just buy a pair of nice running shoes for $150. Should last 6-9 months.
I just saved you $1350 plus monthly fees. Also, get a nice outfit to wear!!! LOL!!
Yes! She definitely needs a bigger bedroom. And this is all pre-pandemic. It also sounds like she has no kids. No babysitter to pay for.
I have this mirror still in its box with a prepaid 6 month membership that I’m selling for $1250
Jesus 45 minutes is a long workout to stand in front of a mirror
You know what’s really cool to me, interacting with a person, not AI. This seems like a very expensive gimmick. You need internet/wifi, $1500 for the mirror plus $250 delivery fee, a $40 a month membership, and oh yeah, let’s not forget the cost for a personal trainer consult with the app which is upwards of $50 to $70 for each consult. All things considered, this is adding up to a big NOT for me.
I understand why some people think this is a waste of money and it probably is for everyone middle-class and below. But, as we know, rich people and fitness fanatics love nothing more than attention and given money is a non-issue for them this would be a no brainer for that market, especially with a pandemic making people scared about going to gyms and group fitness classes. I can see why lululemon bought it.
I think the world is pushing Ai and no interaction with other humans.
With the corona lock down is the mirror the best solution!!!!!!
Usage for a week isnt a good time length for a review for a product such as this.
You bought the mirror for 1500 and 40 dollars a month hmmm…..doesnt seem like a good investment maybe if they dropped the price of the work outside to 20 a month. It would save tons in travel and gym cost mainly during the Kung fu flu.
My family has the Peleton treadmill and bike and there amazing but this look cool
I’m starting out all over after years of not working out. I have the total gym and the bowflex dumbbells. Honestly that’s enough for me for the time being, but I do see a point where the weight won’t be enough of a challenge. I truly dislike going to the gym and have always preferred to workout at home.
i’ll talk to my lawyer about the calories(i need money from lawsuit)
Considering most of the huge functional trainers are up around $3,000 and have no coaching, 4k doesn’t seem like a bad deal.
HOWEVER, the big question is can Tonal be used without the $49/mo (nearly $600/yr) subscription?
Get your self some 15 maybe 20% silver solar mirror film, a piece of glass and stick a tv behind it.. job done and a heck load of money saved
This was a great review. Thank you so much for doing this. I have been thinking about buying this for a few weeks now especially since my gym has been closed due to COVID. When it opens up, it will be packed and the wait for an open machine will be worse than before. Figure the amount of time waiting, and the drive to and from the gym = more time. Plus, the risk of secondary viral infection is high with using equipment that everyone else is sweating on. A typical home gym with plates, weight stack and barbells takes up a ton of space and heavy! I don’t know, I am thinking for me, it is worth it.
Love The Mirror…i have had it almost 6 months…down 47 lbs…
Makical..?
Ppl go Krazy for anything just like a kid with a new toy!
What happened to yesturdays ways….less expensive,..
$$$$$$_$$_$$$$$$
.
So, a money grab regardless. I love the concept, but, I work out alone and this just screams interaction. Also, requires monthly subscription. Another workout tool that you have to hunt for the offline options to use it by yourself.
If your internet cuts out then it’s only use is as a mirror$1500 for a mirror? No thanks, I’ll slap my iPad on a mirror and call it day!!
Really good review! That was so much information and answered my questions
$49 per month subscription fee after dropping $4k? Yeah… good luck with that.
I’ve trained with pros, and they never started with lat pull downs. This is definitely for a beginner and would need a good trainer to make measurable progress.
So what are your impression of it so far? Do you recommend it?
I like the idea, but with the numbers mentioned, this is probably better as a gym device. If/when a live coach isnt available, this is still open for some people, or for those more shy to ask questions.
I don’t mind the 1500 price but $40 a month membership is more than I am willing to pay.
They really out here costing more then a home gym, a workout program app and a gym membership combined
Yepppppppp I’m going to buy a Peleton which will cost me $58 a month with another subscription…
What a ripoff..the covid19 gym mirror.. how about this, buy a 500 4k tv with wifi, hook up a $20 camera and load any work out video off you tube to your heart’s content..
Wouldn’t it be easier to create an app for our smart tv’s????
This mirror looks like a giant phone with a selfie camera in the middle
The calorie estimation is most likely an issue with your profile settings. I have not used this product, but when I get a new running watch, the default settings are usually for someone who weighs more than me and is a different height. Once I correct this, the calories burned are a little more believable. You or whoever is using the mirror may want to change their profile settings.
you cen do exercise at home.this is more valueable for finess

Wow expensive. I will stay with the free YouTube videos. Good review.
Did you need to install to the wall with the bracket / mount?
Let’s go!!! Is it worth $1500? How much is your health worth? That’s the real question. So many gym memberships just sit there and accumulate without ever being used. Calculate that over 2-3 years. It adds up. If it works, and it is making an impact on your health and fitness, therefore increasing cognitive functions, energy, and overall feel. It’s worth it. Most pay $1500 a year just on cable. It’s worth it! If I didn’t say this already…Let’s Go!!!
You didn’t need to spend $1500. You can do it without the technology. Crazy but looooong before this crap people were in way better shape without the gadgets. Keep your money honey.
You can’t compare this to a Gym membership and say it’s saving money. Gyms come with weights, machines, treadmills, etc which this doesn’t come with at all.
This just seems like such a great piece of equipment. I like the flexibility of doing it with a trainer or just by taking a class. I also like that it tracks your calories and lets you know if you’re doing the workouts correctly.
Thx for sharing! I’ll keep doing my research on, ” The Mirror. “
Fantastic review, clear, concise and easy to understand; thanks I’ll back!!
I financed mine through Affirm. Interest free for two years. 60 dollars a month. then the 39 per month membership. I have a family of four. I canceled my membership at lifetime fitness that was 170 for my family of 4. You do the math. I saved money. Of course I have an in home gym with other pieces of equipment. I probably won’t ever join a semi private club again. I think it just boils down to personal preference. I also have the Peloton. I love that one too
Did you get it for free for recommending in on YT? Or did you really pay $1500 out of pocket? It seems like you’re not only paying a lot for essentially a TV and a mirror, but also for classes that are for free on youtube. I do yoga on YT and there are a billion people that do yoga classes for free.
I can see just buying a long mirror for like $50 and just watching youtube videos on a wall-mounted TV. Also, you seem to be forced in front of this mirror which looks like 2-3′ wide. So that kind of limits your mobility.
Seems like a huge gimmick, but that’s what exercise equipment is. They show a commercial and it looks so cool. You see the person on a stationary bike and imagine that’s you. Then it sits in a room with clothes drapped over it. Never used.
I have a much cheaper solution if you want to exercise. By a $20 jump rope. Get outside and have some fun.
Love the look and convenience of the machine at a time when the coronavirus is present but the price along with membership is way to expensive a gym cost about 20 mo so that’s $ 240 a year I could pay for about 20 years of a full gym with pool equipment and personal trainers and I would never spend that much money for 200 pounds and a constant monthly fee looks great over priced to bad they had something that really looks good pricing wasn’t thought out.
Probably Apple watch is not accurate, they calculate the calories based on the # of heartbeats. (1) Your Apple Watch cannot know the heartbeat accurately sometimes. Also, even if accurate # of heartbeats, the calories on Apple Watch would not be accurate. For example, if you do weight training, your heartbeat is not so fast but you are burning calories more. Apple Watch cannot know what kind of workouts you are doing. It can only give you a general ballpark based on your current heartbeat based on your normal heartbeat. At least, that is my theory based on some 5 minutes of googling.
Forget the mirror, I want a link to the videos you were working out to in front of your TV!
LMAO just place your tv in a dim area and turn on the lights behind you, play a workout video, and you get same effect! LOL
Hi Amy, does the mirror require someone to install, does it come with any accessories? Thanks so much!
Quick question about your experiences on the Mirror.
Does it count your movement like when you do push-up sort of speaking?
Or it just plays a movement video and you should do accordingly?
How do you feel about the in-workout music playlist? I’ve seen people mention that it can be connected to Spotify, but wondering if the provided music is any good. I know this is kind of a subjective questiondo they feature popular current music? Electronic? -thanks in advance for the answer.
For me, I like it, but I would love for someone to develop a holographic workout buddy that you can take anywhere. Perhaps the vr headsets will get into this game and bypass the mirror that is stationary. Perhaps a plug in such as a small vr box to turn any screen or mirror into this type of vr training device. Face it: we live in a mobile era where information has to be made quickly and easily anywhere and at anytime.
If it’s just a mirror, why do you need to have a technician come and install it?
Thanks man. Price is all subjective…. people will always complain but then pay $1000 for a new iPhone.. thanks for the review. I have the peloton and wanted some thing more then bike
I love mine too. I financed through Affirm. Interest free for 2 years. I have a family of four and we built a home gym. I will never go back to a semi private/public gym again. I also have the peloton. I love that one too.
Da fuk!!! Now u have me buying the mirror … I started binge watching your videos to learn to become a better videographer, I’ve bought several of things you recommend, now the mirror lol.. dang ur channel is dangerous … love your content by the way! Big big fan of your work
Orrrrr…. you can go to the gym and use the cable machine lol
If you break the “Mirror”, will you get 7 years of bad luck?? Just wondering??
Wow… You have way too much money…. Save yourself 5 years worth of gym membership…Use a TV…
We such a vain society that while we focusing on our reflection, the government can be getting a front seat eye view right into our homes
It’s pretty cool but I have no problem getting to the gym to work out!
Seems like I’ve seen something like this before oh wait it’s called a TV. I bet there’s a whole lot of idiots out there who buy this.
Bro… Fitness Blender (YouTube)!
It’s free, flexible, and challenging, with personal trainers built into every video!
Check them out!
My wife and I have loved FB for years.
One more GAMIC because you have a MIRROR now you just discovered that you are going to be fit for the rest of your life…this is the perfect one until the nex new one this is what marketing is all about and realy got you..!
Just looking at the soy boy pics and tatted girls on there tells you who the target crowd is. I’m pretty sure I can’t live with looking at those soy boys everyday and know I used the same equipment as them. my 2 cents.
Nice, I am trying to join a gym. The mirror is a tad much in price. and I have no where to put it lol.
Love the review! honest and lots of good explanations. I also agree with your ‘theory’. Just like retailers are making smaller sizes bigger, fitness professions really bump up the amount of calories burned all to make us feel better about ourselves.
This looks like it’s one hard yank away from flying off that wall
Did you nail it into the wall? How stable do you think it is without nailing it at the top/only leaning it? Thanks!
That looks awesome! We have an at home gym as well, it’s so much better than having to go somewhere to workout
Lol 2 years later and its $1395.00 still outrageously expensive. I’ll just pay my $40 for my health club membership. This might work for nyc people but not me. Its neat though. I see this FAILING but the teck can be used for google.or amazon in houses and bathrooms for weather and tv as you wake up!!
Why is it with every single workout thing on TV it’s supposed to be about people losing weight and staying in shape why is it that they always show 120 pounds soaking wet women or 155 soaking wet men.
Hahahaaaaaa, another smart screen secretly spying on you. Pay $1500 for this? I think I’ll stick to old school
Can you purchase without the membership? If I’m looking to recommend to home clients, but don’t need the trainer option..?
Hello this is Lawrence johnson, I had an amazing random idea pop in my head this morning…if you would like to hear it text or call me 2705576620 it won’t take me than any more of 3 mins for me to bounce off of you. I want to do better for myself and family…just hear me out.
You just explained 90% of people’s excuses! Love the honesty man!!!
its basically youtube on a mirror. not smart enough they need 3d scanning and tips on your body posture while you excercise. maybe in 10 years. the 39 $ membership is a joke.
OK, for openers, I want a hot chick, not a dude for a coach.
Regardless of how you feel about, you can’t deny that it’s really something out of science fiction even just 20 years ago.
Wow! I was expecting you to tell me how terrible this device was, but your review was extremely solid and informative. Thanks!
Wow $4k. It’s either this or a Louis Vuitton bag. I’ll get the bag.
A used cable crossover with 400lbs of weight is 700$ and free AthleanX video vs a 200lbs resistance machine at 3000$ and ongoing membership at 50$/month. You do the math.
So It’s useless unless you pay 40 a month also you let a camera in you home that can be hacked…. I don’t know…
Something just feels wrong about this technology, like it has a sinister purpose behind its façade of fitness:(
horrible idea, there is a reason why televisions manufactures try as hard as they can to make the screens nonreflective! This is basically just a workout DVD with a gimmick. $39 month membership WTF a real gym is cheaper!
I can do the exact same thing with my smart TV and Youtube or Amazon prime or Netflix video’s.

Id have to do this in my room too! glad to see it fits and can still do the exercises! Im seriously considering….I’d consider mirror ore accurate then watch as watch sensor is off with counting/tracking movements. You could be working your ASS off and it wont count bc it only reads your wrist movementsId also not pay attn to CaoloriesPay attention to DRESS SIZE….weight check-ins and calorie counting is a nightmare and discouraging when we really care about dress size all along anyways. I once lost 5 lbs (Only 5 lbs?? Bummer) BUT was down a dress size.
AHHHH try this next!!! I really want it

The mirror commercial doesn’t show one person struggling with obesity..
. it’s just a 2 way mirror Infront of a screen. Anyone can make this
You can buy this expensive product or make your own for virtually nothing: Simply set up a large mirror facing your computer or TV and work out in the space between the two. Stream or play your favorite workout video. In addition to costing almost nothing, your workout will be private and you can freeze the frame at any time to adjust your position or get a cold drink. Use your own inexpensive heart monitor if you wish.
I feel ill get distracted by seeing both me and the virtual trainer at the same time
How to do a heavy lat pull down without something holding the body from going up? I am 155 lb and I can do 200 lb lat pull down and surely I need something holding me down
Why does it cost so much more than a screen if you still have to buy your own equipment? It can’t hear you, and can’t tell you how you do. There’s no feedback.
So it’s like you can watch YouTube videos.. and yourself. For a couple grand.
hope you kept the mirror since this covid-19 shit shut everything down
home fitness is a great way to build confidence and get wind of things then you can solidify fitness as a lifestyle showing up to group classes.
The reporter asks “Is it vanity?” Only children ask that question. Working out is a legitimate activity.
Great idea, I could even get past the 3k price but $50/mo nah dawg I’m good for right now. I’ll just got to the local gym, and catch up with the neighbors
I think the mirror should have a infrared camera that tracks your body, and it can tell if your doing it right or wrong, or can make the trainer the same size as your reflection so u can match it perfectly….this is just a work out DVD on a fancy TV I dont get it
It’s the Pelaton bike for the same price but without the bike… seems reasonable. Hey I get it, community is so important, especially when it comes to motivation towards self improvement… and we live in a current world where it’s very easy to feel so very alone. People will pay for community and coddling, whatever works, right? Even though you can go running every day for free, the world is your free window and mirror. If we support one another, we can do all the things, and save our money for good living <3
Or… stand in front of a mirror, with your computer playing workout videos behind you.
Like everyone lives in a $500k home and can afford $50 tops and bottoms to work out in. This commercial is way out of touch with the common people.
This is terrifying it not only looks like something right out of black mirror but literally is a BLACK MIRROR
The monthly price is high at 39$ buckaroos a month is extremely expensive. 10$ bucks at the most and that’s stretching it.
I just got mine so I am excited to try it. Also where did you get your neon sign. I love it!!
Feel bad for future generations, pretty soon everything will be created to keep you locked in your house.
They took my idea… if only I had the funds to come out with it first
I liked the video. But the young ladie at the end should know. You should never use the lords name in vain.
I look at a mirror to make sure that my form is correct. It has nothing to do with vanity. If you don’t do exercise correctly, you could damage something or not get the benefit you are trying to achieve.
I work out to free YouTube videos and I have a mirror next to my tv. Lol
Ha ha ha what kind of an idiot would buy this shit? U can get a full Zwift set up for 1200$ and u can get weights, a bench, a squat rack, dumbbells and barbells for 1000$.
anyone know the use of the camera atop mirror? does it only use for selfie only?
How much do you have to love yourself, to spend all your time alone with yourself?
I’ve never seen this before. Money isn’t a problem for me, being I would like this machine to have extra weight. Like an extra 100-200 pounds because everyone is stronger in some exercises than others.
May pursue this further.
Cant get to the gym now, and Lifetime Fitness wasn’t cheap. Quartine life and distancing will change the way people workout for a long time. I love this piece of equipment, and so does my entire household of 4. I’ve wasted money of less valuable things in life, but this is not one of them. Whatever we do, we must all invest in our health and well being in the way the suits you best.
I tried it in Manhattan before shut down. It’s a legit great workout. Subscription is mandatory for one year. But sticker shock is real
Did i hear that correctly $1500 for the mirror then $40 a month for the classes???!!!! I think thats crazy
I just saw the commercial for the first time, this is the coolest mirror ever. I want one!
3700$ isnt that much money to the clientele they are marketing this to.
For 3k and $50 a month you could build a sweet home gym over the course of 18 months.
I considered this because I go to gym daily, especially in light of what’s going on, but 3k for + monthly, turns into a giant TV w/videos. We got a smartphone + YouTube for that.
The person you look at in the mirror is your biggest enemy or biggest Love of your Life.
Here’s my dilemma: the gyms in my area run for about 25-50 bucks a month.
These gyms either have kinda shitty fitness equipment or not enough. And it’s crowded to to point where I don’t really wanna fuss with it. So a good portion of my workouts consist of me going to the gym and not even being able to do the workouts I wanna do anyways.
So if I can get a decent workout when I want them and be introduced to good quality exercises that I wouldn’t normally do. I can justify the cost.
That membership is kinda dumb, but a personal trainer can cost that much PER SESSION. So it doesn’t seem all that crazy.
Some of you in this comment section get really upset about how poor you are and it’s kinda sad
If it could produce more than 200 pounds of resistance (up to 600 pounds for deadlifting and squatting) and was half the price, and didn’t have to pay 50 dollars a month for personal training, and the bar wasn’t a additional 500 dollars… this would be a really good idea
The board meeting always goes…”Then we lock them in with a subscription, so we have perpetual revenue”…applause, champagne.
But people aren’t dumb. We don’t want subscriptions. We don’t want to be locked in.
Can you set up different profiles for different family members?
Well done review. However, I bailed at the 3K base price. No way. Over about 15 years I’ve spent less than $400 at Walmart for a bench with leg extension and lat pull down, plus extra weights, and some upgrades (floor mats, chin-up bar, etc.). Unless you live in a phone booth size apartment in NYC I think this is a major waste of money.
I noticed the weight increment seems to be 1 lb at a time. So no options for doing micro weight increments? If not I am sure this is something that could be changed; but I do five sets of five at maximum weight which a lot of times requires the ability to add a very small amount of weight.
The mirror is for dweebs who don’t know the first thing about working out.
I’d pay $500 extra to have unlimited lifetime access and tell them to shove that $49 a month fee right where it belongs
With COVID-19 possibly never dying and returning periodically, I think this is worth it. Thanks for the video.
Hey Jake please answer. Your body mass is exactly what I would like to achieve. How long did it take for you to get to that level?
Great review. Price is a huge issue the 4 grand I can see but 50 bucks a month for subscription service that’s insane. Should give you a option to not have a subscription and have pre-loaded routines. The service price should be more than 10 bucks tops and I wouldn’t even pay that may be 5 bucks. Also they should have a option for a advance kit that maxes out at about 400 pounds even advance gym rates can’t complain about that. Maybe when they come out with the 2nd generation these updates would be added.
The video she was watching I literally just did! The one one the T.V
You can never compare these types of machines to normal free weights. Theres just a difference between them, 50lbs on one isn’t the same or equivalent on another. As cool as this looks I prefer free weights, I always have a hard time lifting like 5lbs on these things lol. Doesn’t seem as natural.
You don’t have to drive to the gym because your Tesla will do it for you!
3 year warranty is not long enough for a $4,000 purchase IMO. 7 years minimum would be more reasonable. Such a short warranty tells me they don’t have much confidence in their products.
u gotta pay $1.5k and monthly subs??? fooook that…. my home gym which allows me to do all the exercises i want costed $1k total
it’s dangerous to work out in such a crowded place. earn some money and rent a bigger place for your next video.
Interesting. For my retirement years I plan on travelling and living in a self converted van. Gyms aren’t everywhere and a barbell set and powerrack will take up too much space. This just may find a market with those living in small spaces.
That’s pretty cool! Unfortunately that will be something I will never buy, yet something I could use!
if you doubled the load per arm and lowered the subscription fee to 20 bucks a month or 200 bucks a year I could see this being awesome. Right now its not worth it to me But if you up the load to the machine you make it more attractive to more serious lifters.
Damn dude, you’re handsome as HELL! Are you a personal trainer on Tonal? If so, I think I might just put in my order right now!
What a good review. So much helpful information and well done. Thank you!
You lost me at $49 subscription fee. What a rip off after spending that much for the machine.
The calorie discrepancy is not specific to just the Mirror. My Orange Theory Fitness heart rate monitor reports double my apple watch. My lagree fitness advertises MORE than twice what I record on my apple watch. Yes, I would rely on your own fitness watch since there is no conflict of interest.
Love it or hate it, this really is something out of a futuristic movie. It’s pretty impressive actually.
I would totally get this today…if i wasnt forced into a membership
I love this! Thank you for this in depth review!!! My BF and I were concerned we wouldn’t have enough space in our home for the Mirror, but it looks like you don’t need a bunch of room, which is awesome!!
Thank you again for this video! Btw, I love your decor, you’re super cute! ❤️
This was designed to made for females. Guys use the free weights for massive, etc.
Nope. I’ll stick to YouTube workouts. 1500 is not worth it, just for you to see a trainer on the mirror. It needs to have a lot more features.
Bruh $50 a month the must think we’re stupid I was thinking about this because the virus situation rn but helllll nawwwww I’ll stick to my 30 lb dumbells till the gym opens up
I would buy this right now if it didn’t also require $50/month subscription
Honestly, I agree with Shelby because it seems like the apple watch (in her case) isn’t focused on making money off of heart rate and calories burned, while mirror, if they do that it makes you think it is more worth it for the cost and monthly fee.
i would consider this as a future purchase if it was more honest with calories burned
Don’t think I can get behind something that sounds like toenail.
Never before has anyone been able to workout AND… look at themselves in the mirror. WHILE… having a workout video going that you could be watching the reflection of IN… the mirror.
3k for supplemental training no thanks. Also 200lbs is just way to light
Funny reading all of the “just go to the gym” comments in April, 2020 as gyms are CLOSED. I’ve bought so much work from home equipment since March. I like this and find the price reasonable. It’s comparable to all large screen ‘smart’ workout equipment.
The bulk is an investment. The $50/month is cheap if viewed separately, and especially if in place of a gym membership.
My hesitation and concern would be investing in something that has limited use. Once gyms re-open, I prefer the variety of equipment so that the body grows with varied exercises. I also would be concerned about maintenance.
The most expensive things I bought after the stay home order were a cheap treadmill for $500, weighted jump ropes for $200, resistance bands for $70 and some cheaper extras. I bought them knowing that when the gyms re-open, they’ll likely collect dust.
This device should be free for every fatty who want to change his life
Get your Monolith folks. That’s right step right up. A gateway into Lord only knows what, bit that’s not important just BUY it. Because they care about your health and fitness. Wake UP
I watched two other reviews about this and they did not mention the $50 a month. Its obvious they were paid to “advertise”. Fake reviews! Thank goodness for this one guy keeping it real and mentioning the monthly scam! Honestly resistance bands doing them properly will give you the same benefits. They almost had me sold! There’s plenty of YouTube body builders, yoga gurus, strength trainers, etc..that teach you for free with any kind of exercise equipment. This is a very cool estate of the art equipment and I think worth the $3000 if you have that to spend, but $50 extra a month!!?? Now that’s a ripoff!!!!
Cables imo are better then resistance bands. But this price is ridiculous. I’ll gladly pass. I like tried and true methods that work:
Free Weights and Barbell Size and strength gains
Cables Perfect for isometric exercises
Resistance Bands Tone (not gain) and get a pump
I think the screen is waist of money!! What happened if you have a black out, brake the screen, software issue. My room is small. Good equipment. Im sure somebody else will make this without the screen for $300 that I would buy.
Perfect fad workout device, high price, flat and just the right size to shove under the bed after the buyer loses interest in 30 to 90 days.
That’s funny. My fitness goals. My goal to service my 26 year old stripper girlfriend!! LOL
Always interested till I hear about a monthly fee. Why can’t I just have the mirror without the classes?
Upstairs neighbor after getting the mirror –
https://youtu.be/npRc_ksREbU
I’ll wait for another company to make a similar product and not charge extra for the accessories and the monthly subscription
Besides the reflection. What does this do. I can watch workout.videos o n my tv
For $4k the first years investment then $600 per year after that is bullshit for this.. PLUS.. it doesn’t come with the platform for the benching so you have to spend money on getting that as well..
…well now with the pandemic and not been able to go to gyms, I wonder if this would be a good replacement for gyms….
This video was great. I’d like to see if you guys check out the new features when they enabled the camera and microphone in the firmware.
wait wait wait… so you spend almost 4000$ and YOU CAN’T USE IT UNLESS YOU PAY A 49$ A MONTH!!? this is an insult to consumers intelligence, how dare they!?
I would rather go to the gym, of course not during quarantine but being in the gym just gives you that motivation rather being at home. It looks depressing, I’ll stick to my cheap dumbbells and resistance bands
That’s whack. Never seen it. Do the trainers actually say your name like in the commercial?
I hope this doesnt come out as an insult but I like your old lady face lol i think its cute
Is that camera recording you? and are the training videos live or are they prerecorded
Good review but I’m still not sure… Didn’t love the adin the middle of a commercial I was already watching and I most certainly won’t be be buying said product as I don’t respond to gorilla marketing. It is really super annoying as I’m contemplating buying a very expensive fitness product and not sandwiches.
Ehm… sure but cant you find better explanation on the web than these short clips? Sure you can, but than you miss the experience of spending a butt load on a big screen flat screen. The fact that they put more effort in the screen than the overall workout seems to me a bit fishy. Most likely you get some of the workout but id rather stick with my silly 20 buck resistant band which does effectively the same.
$1500 gimmick that they will hope you lose interest in about a month after the novelty dies down but I guess it depends of the person. There is a reason why group fitness is popular because not only is there a social aspect but accountability.
I think this is very useful for older and/or weaker people to stay inside and work out at home, and thanks to the videos they will gather a lot of information which you wouldnt get at the gym.
