Below is a comprehensive list of what makes a class hot or Bikram yoga. Bikram yoga consists of the same 26 poses and two breathing exercises performed in the same order every class for exactly 90.When entering a Bikram yoga class you pretty much know what’s going to happen. Hot yoga, on the other hand, will always be different depending on the teacher and the style of yoga offered.
Hot yoga can be more active Vinyasa, Power yoga, or quiet like Yin yoga. The difference is in how you describe and define the practice. Bikram and Hot Yoga incorporate physical techniques into their practice. While Hot Yoga is traditionally seen as the more progressive, Hot Yoga is often faster and more intense in the time it takes to reach the end of each poses. In.
While Bikram is a form of hot yoga, and they both leave you sweating like a beast, there are a number of differences. I cover off the top 5 differences below. Difference 1: Let’s start with the style. BIKRAM has a very standardised sequence of 26 postures, including two breathing exercises.Performing poses for 60 minutes in 37 degrees and 50 per cent humidity for hot yoga, and 90 minutes in 40 degrees and 40 per cent humidity for Bikram, can do so much more – from fine-tuning your body to cleansing your mind.
At the outset, one of the very first differences you will notice between the two forms of yoga is the studio. While a typical Bikram Yoga studio is mirrored from wall to wall, the Hot Yoga studios do not have mirrors on the wall. The reason behind this is that yoga believes that mirrors are distracting.Hot yoga refers to yoga classes taught in a heated room set anywhere between 90 and 105 degrees.
Multiple yoga formats fall under the hot yoga category, including Vinyasa, Gentle Flow, Power Flow, Hatha, and much more with postures and sequences varying by class, teacher, and studio.Time consuming – Most yoga classes are 45-60 minutes long where hot yoga goes for 90 minutes. If you are to practice Bikram yoga, you need to make more of a commitment in your schedule.
You can get injured – Though the heat naturally causes you to make a.There are specific differences between Bikram and Vinyasa, and understanding the unique attributes of each of these yoga disciplines will help you decide which form is best for your fitness needs. Bikram Yoga.
Be prepared to sweat. Bikram yoga is the most well-known form of hot yoga. Yoga guru Bikram Choudhury created this unique form of yoga.Bikram Yoga is the Original Hot Yoga! From the early 1970s until approximately 2010, Bikram Yoga – also known as the 26 & 2 – was equivalent to “hot yoga”.
Its unparallelled benefits and worldwide popularity inspired many to try to imitate it.What is the difference between Bikram yoga and hot yoga? Now that you have a fairly broad understanding of these two forms, let’s look at the details and look at the differences between the two.
1. Studio. At first, one of the first differences you will notice between the two forms of yoga is the studio. What is the difference between Bikram yoga and Hot Yoga? Rooted in ancient Indian tradition, early yogis would probably feel right at home in a Hot Flow Yoga studio as the gentle temperature would remind them of home. Let’s untwist what Hot Flow Yoga and Bikram styles have to offer; these two mysterious branches of the same yogic tree.
Traditional, Therapeutic Yoga Methods. It will not take long for you to experience the difference between the Bikram Yoga method and the various types of hot yoga. This is a rough comparison – as “hot yoga” can be one of many dozens of things – but we hope it will give you some idea of the differences. The temperature in a hot yoga room, on the other hand, can vary between 80-100 degrees and the humidity varies as well. 2) When in Bikram Another major difference is the look of the studio itself.
Bikram yoga is done in a very brightly lit room with floor to ceiling mirrors at the front of the room, and carpeted floor. Hot Yoga studios tend. The short answer: Bikram yoga refers to a specific set of 26 postures while hot yoga is normal yoga, just in a heated room.
Are you ready to sweat? Studio temperatures for Bikram and hot yoga range from 90 to 105 degrees. While yoga is an ancient practice rooted in.

Apparently its not bikram yoga. Another teacher started it. So to call it bikram is shameful..as well as an insult.
Maggie is amazing. I used to do Bikram years ago. Since Covid, I have turned my screened in porch into a hot yoga studio and she is my go to teacher!!! Sincere thanks to this studio and this video!!!
I’m sure it’s nice, but yoga mashups??? If it’s not 90 it’s not B✌️
That was fantastic! being in self-quarantine at home, this is a great resource! thank you!
First time I watch yoga ♀️ for 30mins it’s fantastic very pleasant need to try this from tommrow
Adi, this is perfectly beautiful!
Thank you for this!
Using it in my infrared sauna…wow! 136 degrees…now I’m REALLY sweating!
Blessings!
Wow! I havent done hot yoga in literally 8 years and it’s crazy how out of shape my body is now but I am going to start going to class again but I am going to use this to prep me for my comeback. Thank you so much for this. You are such a master at your craft!
thank you,-this is a life saver! great for my COVID-19 challenge! Day 7 now and I ll continue until we can go back to work in the office
This is the best instruction I have ever heard of the Bikram poses. I have listened to many teachers and had trouble with poses and now that I know what muscles to engage they are much easier. Thank you!!!
Hey Maggie, greetings from Brighton in the UK great class and great instruction perfect for lockdown!
I never got the flue when practicing Bikram yoga, I suppose that the heat of the room does not let viruses thrive…
My bikram studio closed yesterday due to virus as well, glad to have this to do at home for the time being, thank you
I recommend folks to have done some Bikram in your life before you do this. This is fast paced and you should have known the asanas before u practice this.
So grateful for this video..my studio closed due to the virus…thought i would have an issue doing on my own..but i didnt..it was awesome…
THIS vid has been my extended CoronaCation saving grace! So grateful!
Loving your video for my home practice. Thank you http://www.atthewellnessnetwork.org
Having grown up in the LA/OC area and attended elementary school in Long Beach it is so cool to join the class here in Cambridge England!
This is a great class. Also here during COVID 19, and Ive been using this video all the time. Thank you so much for putting this on youtube, itś been an absolute life saver. Youŕe a great teacher!
I prefer the 90 minute class. It’s much easier to do the poses the second time, more deeply, it feels like doubling the effect.
new name should be “Hot Rape Yoga”. u studios that still bear his name should be ashamed.
BEST Bikram Vinyasa Fusion class indeed!!! I have been benefitting from this class for quite some time. I could not start todays class without thanking you first. Namaste.
Thank you. Phenomenal class and pace for a 30 minute version. Really helpful and quite the achievement!
Wow I like it now quickly hurry up follow this time is so nice
Thank so much for organising this amazing yoga session. I had done most of these exercises many years back from Dr Phulgenda Sinha’s book, Yogic cure for common diseases.
Maggie, looking forward to following your Bikram yoga guided class.Love your energy & joyous energy. I miss our city’s Bikram hot classes when the local studio closed their doors. Happy I found your channel. For the folks keen on Raising their vibration through breathing, health & energy teachings and spiritual connection with loved ones who transitioned, join me on my channel:)
Hey Everyone! I got my 90 minute class up and running! Check it out! https://youtu.be/6CdpvgjZox0
Did he just laughed at the way she pronounced his name in the beginning? Can he even speak a word of Spanish?
Awesome video will be using virtually found my new instructor thank you brodie!!! That flowing into each posture was mad clutch brodie helped me get to another level of yoga I wasn’t able to reach right on right on!
Thank you so much, this didn’t even feel like 90 minutes. I’m still sweating as a type this and can’t begin to tell you how good I feel thank you.
i have experienced some of the tension in hips and what not. I realized after continuing practice that i did not have the muscle i needed in those locations after continuing through poses like standing leg pulling pose i have built up muscle and flexibility my hips have never felt better or stronger. bikram makes your body feel odd until you go consistently for a month lots of micro muscles i have only ever worked in that class. I have also had a lot of techers tell me to not go to hard to not take a posture all the way until you are ready. that there is a ton of benefit not going so deep. etc. maby you need to come to Philadelphia and take a class with gerardo or Jessica meyers.
Today I went to the studio I have been practicing in for the last 19 years and because of the Corona Virus quarantine, it was closed.
I went home, bummed out and decided that I must get my yoga in spite of the tough times we are all collectively going through.
I found your class Maggie, it was fantastic. I will be using it for the next 6 weeks until the quarantine in Riverside county is lifted.
Thank you for posting it, all the best
Great! Thank you for the upload, loved the “bend your forehead moment” haha =D Aloha from Hawai’i
Thanks Maggie, for making this accessible to working moms pressed for time! You ROCK!:)
Thank you so much. This means that during lock down I can still get my bikram fix
I use to go to classes ( so much gratitude to teachers). I have to say these 26 postures are very helpful. In extreme winter it’s amazing going to hot sauna classes. However I use to get exhausted by the end and can’t focus on postures/what instructor is saying, rather fighting with sweat. Gulping liters of water with so called energy boosting powder. This video helps me to practice at home and improve my posture. Thanks for posting this.
I think I might try this…. I got extremely depressed when the virus hit because the hot yoga controlled my ibs…. And the 90 minute one was just too difficult to do at home by myself…. My teeth are litteraly falling out due to the acidic build up in my body… I will try this tomorrow
Thank you for this. I took an online hot yoga class via zoom yesterday for the first time. I found yours and it was the perfect segway to understand the poses and breathwork with encouragement. I’m excited to start this journey with you. Friends that have COVID19 here in NY said hot yoga was the only healing that moved phlem and made them well. Thought you should know what a good work this is. xx
I never thought we could get it in 30 mnts. Loved it. Great work.
Its hard to find bikram yoga studio thesedays. (Prbly because of the heated condition) So glad to find this video to practice at home. Heated or not, this is cool flow!
Thank you Maggie! I live in Costa Rica in a very small city and there no yoga studio nearby. So it is a really pleasure to have the opportunity to practice with your video. I ‘m new with Bikram (in the past I practice other types of Yoga) and I’m really loving this method! Thank you so much! Namaste
I have started doing this session daily morning from last 4 days. But from day 1 my Eyes are turning red daily after the session. Is it something to care Bout or am I doing something wrong??
They need to change the name and take the name Bikram out! He did not create theses poses or series.
A healing practice to balance the mind and body. Thank you Maggie ♂️
Thank you for sharing this beautiful practice…it’s definitely a favorite. Namaste
‘Tension in the body is tension in mind…relax the body to relax the mind’……<3
Is a 90 minute class supposed to be 90 minutes? This is the second one that I’ve seen it’s just over 80……
Thank you for having this out there. It is greatly appreciated. Great teacher!
Practico bikram desde hace 7 años en casa y en mi maravilloso estudio de Bcn con mi maestra Lucia Kelley. Nunca me he lesionado. He aprendido a abrir mi corazón. He aprendido de mí y de mi cuerpo. Y miles de asuntos más. ES UNA PRÁCTICA QUE TRAE LUZ Y AMOR. Amo esta práctica. Me sienta bien.
ive been doing yoga about 3 years and am OK at it, because of my youtube algorithm they recommended beginners handstand exercises, and this is only anecdotal but only after 1 or 2 days of basic hand stand exercises i saw notable improvement in my balance on the one leg postures, and balance in general, and a loosening in my lower back which has always been tight, its https://youtu.be/oBcWjpFG5yY, or saturnomovement if that link doesn’t work, and on top of all that this guy is a complete hunk
Hi, I am so glad to find this video. Just start first yoga today. ❤
Namaste. Quarantine hot yoga 4th week. Stay safe and strong mentally physically and spiritually.
Thank you for an express version of Hot 26. You have saved my day!:)
3rd degree judo black belt here. Always wanted to do yoga to help my judo/BJJ practice. Never really took the plunge though. Not only is this helping with rehab, flexibility, and strength, but I think I’ve found a new passion, and something that helps me with managing my mental health.
Thanks!
P.S. My friend is in the running for Olympic and Commonwealth qualification for judo, and she could only complete half this session!
Everyone, go to Raquel Welch’s Total Beauty and Fitness. It’s the same workout, challenging, relaxing, and without the CONSTANT TALKING! I couldn’t watch past the breathing. Annoying!
Thank you for this video. My studio was closed today so I came home, cranked up the heat, and played this so I could practice.
Stretches looks good. Cold yoga with 60 F works for me. Cooler the better. I’ll die of dehydration in a hot room.
It’s been about a year since Ive done Bikram due to pregnancy then C-Section… This was a great class for me to ease back into it! Thanks!!
I’m here during COVID 19 as well, I need just the basics since I’ve been a student and teacher forever. Thanks
Amazing explanations and instructions. I just wonder would these squats and exercises bulk/ muscle out a woman?
Very good class, thanks to you I can practice at home and STAY HOME at this difficult times. Namaste 😉
Epic class. Thank you for putting this together. 30 min. Exactly what I needed to restore my spine while working from home during COVID-19. Appreciate you sharing this with us.
Thank you so much! This was just perfect for re-introducing myself to the practice after being at home for 4 weeks and not. doing. anything… Plan to do it every day this week. <3
I think you are so negative, maybe for you doesn’t work, but for me workout perfect. I don’t like negative statement like this so I make sure I never follow your videos
Maggie has excellent verbal communication and guiding through the poses of the bikram sequence. her adjustment tips are fantastic, allowing me to expand my understanding of the intention in this practice. thank you Maggie!
Very good morning. Indeed the excellent session on fusion of Vinyasa and Bikram yog. Thank you very very much. Absolutely clear instructions are appreciated. Fantastic. God bless you.
Just took this class…I have been doing bikram yoga for over 10 years…the instruction and dialogue was very good…….I thought that it was a bit rushed…..not even toe stand posture in this class….I know its a 60 min class, which is what I usually take ( I used to do 1.5 hr class ), but still very rushed…..class was 53 mins. Good class but rushed

You’re my new instructor and classmates for now, during these strange times. Hot yoga in the home office!
I do this every day. I can easily do the 30 minutes but not the 90. Thank you.
First time doing this session, totally enjoyed it. It was quite the challenge. Much to work on….
Thats great workout, i have just did it and i feel awesome! Thank you for this nice video.
Perfect exercise for me who has not done yoga for a year ( pregnancy and finally some time for myself). This is awesome for me who has been an athlete but now has to start from almost scratch, I only did glute and shoulder exercise during pregnancy (fire hydrant, backkick, sidekick, squats, sumo squats and so on). Love from Sweden.
This has been a lifeline for me during the stay at home isolation. Thank you!
Muchas gracias dan clases en torrejon o cerca de madrid gracias saludos namaste
Awesome video. Just and FYI: We sell awesome Men’s hot yoga shorts. http://www.
Bikram is not the founder. And I feel so bad for the young women he assaulted. Why would you want to support this guy
Yoga is so f**** lame stretching and s*** while we so women can try to keep their f**** tits unwrinkled and refined except for the fact that women always hit 30 and then they get cottage cheese going that’s that’s pretty much it so good luck pitches
Who’s here 2nd week Stay Home lockdown Covid 19? Trying to get my hot yoga routine intact physically mentally and spiritually. Namaste.
So happy I found this. I have really been missing yoga due to the virus. Much appreciated that you uploaded this thank you!
I’ve been a Hot Yoga practitioner for 25 years. This class by Adi Westerman is a perfect and beautiful 30 minute version the sequence of 26 poses. Adi’s excellent instruction is ideal for experienced Hot Yoga and Bikram yogis who want a non-classroom setting but with expert instruction and demonstration. Thank you so much for creating this gem.
Loved this, Maggie. You’ve got a great approach and a great energy. I really appreciated that there were all sorts of levels in the class and you were supportive of all of them.
I actually followed the full 52 minutes and I’m doing it again tomorrow
Thanks for another great class. So perfect for me. So convenient.
First yoga practice of the quarantine I love yoga, but I don’t have the discipline to practice by myself. I have an audio, but I need to feel the energy of a class so I prefer a video format even if I am not constantly watching. Thanks for uploading
Excellent class. Well paced with a gentle soothing voice. Will definitely practice with this again. Thank you.
Thank you for this practice. I find it challenging each time I come to it, so it’s teaching me to give grace to myself and my body. It’s also teaching me to show up for myself. All the best to you.
Dear Heart Alchemy I am 69 with severe hip arthritis. I live in Hawaii so I have the heat part in the late afternoon. I love your class I would love to visit you in California one day so you can give me some alternate instruction. Aloha
This is the best Bikram Vinyasa video period. I enjoyed everything about it including the person who performed the poses. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!
Ah! Great class, I enjoy all the different styles incorporated, and great instruction! Thanks
Love this practice! Doing it during virus 5 x per week! Namaste
Thank you! Justy did my first yoga practice in 3 weeks, doing it at home. Boy, I needed it.
I began my yoga experience 30+ years ago. I’ve practiced many forms of yoga through the decades.
When Bikram Hot Yoga came along, I was hooked, but our facility eventually shut their doors.
Then I found this video and WOW I love it!
About to turn it on right now and get moving!
Yoga keeps me young and strong! Super important to me at age 60 with an autoimmune disease that causes much painful inflammation!
Clean food, yoga, mindfulness….ahhhh!
You have no idea what youre talking about. Youre just a hater.
That was so intense! First day of practicing with you. Thank you for being so encouraging. Although I was begging for the last pose to come lol.
What a delightful thirty minutes of practice. Putting on repeat now for a full 60!:D Thank you Adi!
This guy has no idea of what he is talking about!! It is not true that there are any long time Bikram practitioners.
He prefers his methods sure!!! Who doesn’t prefer their own stuff. But the question is how tire and time tested his methods are
I’m doing this every day now whilst my favorite studio in Oslo Norway is on lockdown (BYO Oslo <3), this is a great class, I couldn't find anything like this on YouTube half as good that suits my needs, so big thank you @HotYogaAsheville
I wonder, could you also do a 60 min and the full 90 min versions? (apologies if you already have).
Stay safe folks!
Hey Yogis, we know your love Bikram check out latest Quarantine yoga flow for when you only have 30 minutes and need to sweat (it will definitely make you sweat no heater required!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-NtpsI70jo
Absolutely perfect class. I use the audio when I travel and it’s nice to be able to mix it up. Thank you.
This class is so strengthening and helps me to recharge my mind and my body. Maggie has a very motivational voice and her instructions are very clear. I had to stop going to in person classes due to chronic sinus issues. Being able to do this yoga at home (outside) is a total game-changer. Thank you Maggie and Heart Alchemy (great name by the way) Lauren in Houston, TX
Hi Maggie, just wanna say thanks for your great class. I have done Bikram at studios but now live in an area, Eastern north Carolina, where there are none. Finding this on YouTube is good and your class is excellent. Good balance of posture times, savasana time, and not to much “chatter”, just focused and important clues. You are a good teacher! Thanks
Great instructor. My instructor is really strict and makes me feel like it’s boot camp rather than a practice.
Thank you so much! Trying to exercise during this crisis when I can’t get to the gym. I miss yoga. It was wonderful!
Thank you for this amazing class. What an angelic voice you have ♀️♀️
Maggie’s dialogue and connection to the poses is amazing. Thank you so much for propelling my home practice to a new level! Namaste
Maggie Grove is so sweet and great with the communication of the poses. Love from NZ!
Amazing, thank you:) perfect for my top floor apartment in the summer heat.
I also love this video and do hot yoga during the winter months. I live in a very rural, agricultural area in California… with the nearest town with yoga about 13 miles away. I have a space heater in my spare bedroom and do this video, which is book marked on my laptop! It makes it possible to do a hot yoga workout from home. I also have a hot tub, which I usually need after one of these courses!! It’s great having this option, taught by such a capable instructor!! Gonna get to it now…. haven’t done it since last fall….. here goes!! Thanks Maggie!
Is this good for patients suffering with multiple sclerosis? Would you suggest me the best practice for them if there is any that you might know. It would be a great help. Thankyou
Thank you Maggie, much gratitude for your generosity. Love you
The dialogue for camel says to push your hips forward but it not meant for people to have their hips in front of their knees. The hips needs to be exactly above the knees. So many people bring their hips behind their knees in the camel set up. But the push of the hips drives the lower back bend. Hopefully no teachers are out there letting students push their hips beyond the knees in camel. It’s rare in the west for students to be doing that in camel. But there is a lot of “push your hips” forward in the dialogue because usually the hips are too far backward not forward. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this video! Just did it from my home office with the heat on since my studio is closed for Covid-19. Making it work!
Loved this I still sweaty even though not as hot as there, can you make more I love these
Please add another great video like this! No other yoga practice makes me so light and free. Namaste
Thank you. I’ve been recovering from a nasty cycling accident. I’m still recovering from shoulder surgery and figuring out my neck issues. I didn’t think I could do a full class. I was actually surprised at how much I could do. I thought you taught a very nice class. Thank you for sharing.
This is a fantastic class!!! Any chance you’ll add additional full classes?
Sería muy útil una clase de bikram yoga ♂️ en español, hace años que la espero… Gracias
I respect & agree with your opinion. Aasan is for prepare your body physically fit and stability of mind and than do meditation.. Not for over depression in ligaments
This really is the best vinyasa bikram fusion class. Thank you so much.
this was great but Bikram is such a shameful man. Also, I didn’t really like all the Shavasana. Childs pose is helpful without having to spin around so much on the mat
Just saw his documentary on Netflix..naahhh.
Thankfully yoga was not created by him.
Wow… I did this at my gym so it was hot yoga. You are truly one of the most thorough and instruction based in structures I’ve come across! Thank you so much for these videos! In addition to Vikram yoga could you possibly do an inversion class and arm balance so also an advance/intermediate class! You are awesome keep up the great work! Namaste
Thanks for watching! All of my classes are free and available for everyone to use but as I’m not able to teach in person due to COVID-19 if you would like to pay there is the option to do so via the link below:

Hi Maggie! Thank you so much for uploading this class (and also the other bikram classes)! I live in a small village where no bikram or any other yoga studio is around, but I loved to practice hot yoga when I lived in a big city some years ago! I am so glad that I found your videos, I do one full bikram yoga class every sunday and it’s great! Thanks and go on like that!:-) (In Germany it is not hot enough for the full bikram temperature, but for me it is okay to do it with normal room temperature except in the summer, haha I did the class several times outside in the garden this season…)
Bikram, a very bad man, got his form of Yoga/sequences from his Master but came to America and named it after himself… and completely denatured the form. The asanas are great but I don’t call it Bikram yoga, period.
Love this 30 min class, I’ve been doing it for the whole of lockdown and it has been amazing.
Thank uoi Adi.
I’ve been doing Bikram regularly since 2004. I don’t comment on Ashtanga, Vinyasa, or other types of Yoga. When people ask, I don’t recommend Bikram. I tell them to try various styles and find the one for them, but I happen to like and practice Bikram. People should do what they like or what speaks to them.
Ostensibly, there’s an idea of “non-judgement” that’s absent in these criticisms of Bikram Yoga and here, of people who practice Bikram. I find it interesting.
Bullshit. I was scheduled to have 2 knee surgeries and opted to try Bikram Yoga and 20 years later my knees are still healed. Bikram as a person is the worst but this practice is the real deal and it does produce the results it promises. You are responsible for how you practice no matter what style you choose. It’s your body only you know when to push or not. 20 year is a very long time and this practice has helped me heal injuries never gave me any……
Anyone who supports sexual assault is crazy and that is exactly what you do if you practice his kind of yoga, hot or Bikram, especially knowing full well what he did.
this is the best Bikram yoga class on the net. It helped me with my anxiety and I’m trying to do it every day. It’s clear, relaxing, self-loving and very instructive. Thank you so much
Thank you Maggie, this will be our daily yoga fix during Corona lockdown in Dubai
Thanks for posting this. I will definitely need this class in the next weeks and maybe months.
U hater. I would take cold showers after Bikram and no injuries. Being exposed to hot and cold are good for longevity.
i’ve been doing bikram yoga since 2003, about 3-4 times a week. before that i did a variety of other styles, and really prefer bikram. i do practice now mostly at home, and of course do not get the room all that hot, just a space heater. in that situation i am very careful and may not be able to get into some of the poses fully. in any case i pretty much disagree with this guy, it’s been a very healing yoga for me. i have a slight scoliosis in my upper back and this has really helped that immensely, actually way more than other forms, like vinyasa.
This is really the best Bikram class i’ve discovered online so far. Thanks for sharing!
All yoh are doing is so great and I appreciate it.
But, do you even know what is yoga?
It has total of 8 things combined called YOGA
Named in sequence
YAM,
NIYAM,
AASAN,
PRANAYAM,
PRATYAHAR,
DHARNA,
DHYAN,
SAMADHI.
Among them, third is AASAN
All you, Bikram and other westerns are doing is just AASAN, NOT YOGA!
AASAN is just for physical strength, yoga is much much more in depth and much much more wider than this..
You can imagine earth as AASAN and galaxy as YOGA..
Just read original yoga first rather than just blindly following anyone and doing anything..
Just did this and I’m absolutely useless and terrible. I’m 30 and absolutely struggling with poor flexibility and posture despite always playing sport and keeping fit. Makes no sense i did bikram yoga for a bit back in the day…but I dont like him
I have taken many 60-minute versions of Bikram’s sequence in studios but this class by Maggie was the best! Too many instructors try to cram all the postures twice with no breaks in between making it feel rushed and not as meditative. This class was perfect and maintained the integrity of the original 90-minute version. Thank you for not rushing the class and including Savasana between each posture! This will be my practice until Studios reopen. Namaste
Muchas gracias dan clases en torrejon o cerca de madrid gracias saludos namaste
Sorry to bother you, is this safe for me if I have a pinched nerve in my neck close to my spine?, sitting down is my issue mainly and was hoping conditioning might help. I’m a slim guy just for the record lol.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing class! Namaste!
Well Iv been practicing bikram over 11 years now and I have a huge long list of the physical, mental, emotional benefits Iv received from practicing regularly. My body had tons of injuries as well & the Bikram yoga has dramatically healed and relieved me from chronic pain issues.Im a certified Bikram teacher and have taught over 10 years in 4 countries at about 35 different studios teaching thousands & thousands students. Iv had all different ages, body styles, injuries of students You name it and they never tell me they they get worse after they practice bikram yoga.Id say the key is listen to your body dont push yourself and practice regularly.Your intelligent You know all this.I thinks its the wrong title dangers of Bikram yoga based on facts as well its not correct You t say standing bow is very dangerous & alot of ur info is based on opinion not on facts
This has been awesome. My neurologist recommended Yoga for my TBI. Unfortunately the lockdown happened not much longer after that. I’ve done this type of Yoga years ago and loved it not just for the physical aspects but for the emotional, and spiritual aspects as well. Namaste and thank you for posting this along with other Yoga videos.
Thank you.. this is just what I was looking for.. Im traveling and I would like to keep my practice consistent.. grateful:)
Thank you Maggie Grove and others for providing this video so I can continue to practice and develop.
I was referred to this video by DforDavid.
I have an L5-S1 & L4-L5 disc bulge that extends 2 mm into my central spinal canal. I was told this type of yoga will assist in my healing.
So helpful! Time for a long-term commitment for body tune-up. Thank you!
Thank you!! I haven’t been able to practice because my studio is closed so this was perfect ♥️
AMAZING video. The teacher is very pleasant and her instructions are detailed and very clear. Great job. Will recommend to family and friends. Thank you a lot.
Thank you so much Maggie you are great! I am doing this 60 min class on a daily basis since full lockdown started take care!
What a great class! I’ve been injured and unable to get back to hot yoga. Our studio is closed due to Covid19 so this is where my practice will be. Good job, you explain and demonstrate asanas well.
Thanks for this!
Jan
I am new to yoga and older so I have to be careful with transitions. I loved this video. There was no pressure or judgment to go further than what I could do but challenging enough to push myself just a bit. The calm demeanor and voice was very comforting.
Thank you Maggie for your excellent teaching, your time and your inspiration at a globally dark time. I am shining a tiny bit brighter today because of your class!
Thank you. A perfect class. I miss the heat and a class full of students, but this video will get me thru the quarantine. Namaste.
Maggie is an amazing instructor. Her instructions are detailed and clear. You enjoy doing this yoga sequence at home. It is like you are present with the others in the room BIG THANK YOU for Maggie from Prague.
Plz advise after how many classes one can see benefit in weight loss. Plz also advise diet plantk be followed to loose weight quickly. I have started doing it and i am doing 3 to 4 sessions in a week. Thanks.
the man himself is garbage. the poses are just a few of so many that help so many.
Hot 26 series, really.. this is not your creation, drop the hypocrisy
Namaste!! I really enjoyed this.. 60 mins 26/1 perfect!!
Thank you for this great session. Had trouble with some poses but it was a wonderfully moving stretch.
Thank you so much for having this class online! My studio is doing online classes but mostly the during the hours I am working from home. My body feels so much better after 2 weeks off!
Great class. I look forward to doing more with you. Thank you, so much, for this.
Bikram the shameful personality..take an example of him how yogi shouldn’t be
Thank you Maggie I’ve always wanted to do a 30 day challenge and thanks to you, I’m doing one at home during COVID-19. And bonus is that my husband is doing it with me for the first time!
Hi Maggie, thanks for leading us. I really like the way you give instruction/explanation of each poses and also your timing. Thanks again.
Interesting how the video cut off once he was saying more complimentary things
Thank you so much for providing this version of my favorite yoga series. Quarantine has made me more, not less, busy than ever-and more in need of practice even when I can’t make 90 minutes. Namaste.
Just curious, but at the very end, why did the room go dark and just the instructor left? Is that part of your format? It was kind of strange to me. Your class was wonderful! Doctor recommended it!
Its not yoga its good excersise routine by Bikram. Yoga is very wast abstract subject its union of body, mind and universe. A true yogi should be free from greed, anger, hatred, sexual desire, arrogance and wordly attachment. People like Osho and Bikram took the basic yoga and meditation practices modified it to be useful and result oriented to suit western mindset. They commercilised their own brands and earned name and money like any sucessful entrupruener. But as they never focussed on spirituality of yoga and meditation they got distracted and defamed at the end. I think we need to give them credit for their their inovation and marketing. Its to much to expect very high morality and spirituality from bussinessman. In open society how anybodys personal life determine his professional excellance we need to separate two.
LOVE YOU and love this class so much. After 10 years of enjoying Bikram 2-3x a week, I now live in a small remote village in the south of france so this class online is a life saver! Thank you!!!
Thank you!!! This video is going to save my life! At home on lock down but now I can do my Bikram at home. Got a little ceramic heater to heat my room.. Just
did my first at home Bikram session today using your video!!! And I feel great! Man I’ve missed this!
Thank you so much for this 30 minute class. I love it. It’s perfect.
interesting points,if anyone else trying to find out yoga exercises for buttocks and thighs try Yanas yoga results ( search on google )? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my m8 got cool results with it.
Hey Yogis, we know your love Bikram but check out latest Quarantine yoga flow for when you only have 30 minutes but need to sweat (it will definitely make you sweat no heater required!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-NtpsI70jo
Thank you! With the virus concerns, I can’t go to my studio. I miss my Bikram classes-this really helped!!!!!
Not well informed, i have amazing functional strength from bikram, been doing it for six years, really changed my life for the better. Remember not all studios are as good as the next.
Thanks So Much for this Online Resource. I go to Bikram Yoga 5-6 days a week here in Toronto and have made a makeshift Hot Room in my bedroom complete with a Space heater and Humidifier. Great way to keep sane in our insane reality! Be safe and Stay Healthy everyone!
I find a 60 minute class much more approachable but may I ask what is the difference in the sequence? Is only one repetition of each pose performed, or are they performed for a shorter count? Would love some insight
Is anyone hear after the Bikram documentary? This is the first thing that comes up, despite all the pain, people still find healing and help from this hot yoga practice, I’m too afraid to try it in a studio now
FYI, THERE’S A DOCUMENTARY IN NETFLIX ABOUT BIKRAM YOGA. THE FOUNDER, THE GURU, THE PREDATOR.
Thank you so much. I am on vacation and I had the awesome opportunity to take your class in front of the lake with the sun coming out during my practice. Not quiet as hot but it was a wonderful experience to take your class on a deck surrounded by the lake.
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.” -Mark 13:21-23
The end of this clip shows that the woman doing the interview has really no clue.
been using ur online U Tube class for some years to top up my other yoga practice, but now as we are in lockdown, its become even more vital Thank you Heart Alchemy and thank you Maggie Grove for having made this available to the world when you did!!!!
This dude: Talks about dangers of Bikram yoga
also this dude: top viewed video has Bikram in title
Thanks to Netflix I’m on my 4th day of hot yoga, with a bunch of portable heaters in my room, he might have fucked up but he got some good shit. My back is feeling good so far…
Thank you!!! My yoga study closed a few days ago, so this is great!!! thank you, thank you thank you!!
Thank you for this video. I’ve watching and tried many other yoga videos and I keep coming back to yours! For me it’s the perfect blend/addition of vinyasa. I’m trying to do yoga everyday during COVID and since I can’t go anywhere I’ve resulted to YouTube. Thank you for clear audio, inspiring instruction, and something I can progress with everyday!
Great class during these very difficult times,
I did it outside and was such a wonderful experience.
Thank you for this short version during Quarentine!=!! Definitely going to check out your full version as well! Warmest regards!
Also just want to thank you again for posting this. I feel so grateful and will be practicing with you daily!
Thanks for this! It’s really a great class and very well put together! Namaste!
Interesting. I love to hear “yogis” give their “intellectualized” opinion of Bikram yoga, especially when they admit it is not their regular practice. Bikram yogis are not “personable” is an absurd generalization. It is perfectly acceptable to not have a preference for a style or method. We all miss a huge lesson in our practice when we go about judging others….it is not anyone’s position to judge. Do your practice and share with whom has asked for guidance. Let the universal spirit/creator be the judge. If we are to grow in consciousness and mature…make more attention to the contrition of your heart. peace.
I THINK the heat in the room can be opcional, Bikram just trained that way maybe because he wanted to recreate the same weather conditions (India),when you come from this kind of weather is difficult to get use to A/C.THE best place to practice yoga for me is in nature, you will breathe all the pure oxygen, but of course you won’t have the mirror
Hey Everyone! I am branching off to start a new channel called Yoga Tough… I have a NEW 30 Minute class up! Subscribe and check it out! https://youtu.be/SwNW4QRuoyA
I just finished this class and I felt like I was at a yoga studio.Thank you so much, you’re helping me stay same in the middle of this quarantine!
Great class. The ad in the middle was kind of distracting, but overall really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Will I loose weight doing this? Or at least will this define my body and strengthen my muscles?
This is such a great way to get back into a home practice! The flow of postures is perfect….well, except I do one more Wind Removing series after the final Savasana. Because you can’t have too much wind removal right?!?:)
Why are people using the name “Bikram” after the man who said he invented this yoga (he didn’t) is a rapist and has illegally fled America to avoid charges? I thought he name was no longer being used and shouldn’t be at the very least out of respect for his victims.
perfect for doing in my appartment with no air conditioning!
Thank you so much! You are a awesome teacher!!!!! Thank you million!
Not my usual yoga practice, felt very light, I’ll do another 45 minute practice afterwards:) it was good to meditate though!
Thank you so much Maggie for this video, which I often come back to, and is one of those routines that keep my body and mind healthy during lockdown.
The biggest danger of Bikram is being an attractive female anywhere near its founder.
Thank you for this. It is keeping me sane while I isolate at home.
sony a cute boy model see his pictures here
https://zee.gl/96ytCu
I thought that yoga was toning and shaping the body. The dude right behind the teacher is really not inspiring. How we are going to get more males to practice if they assume they going to look like that? Little chest, chubby belly, skinny arms. not an inspiration!
I was devastated my local bikram studio closed during covid, but have been so happy to find this shortened version to add to my Jillian Michaels. I love your gentleness as a teacher. Do you have a 60 and 90 min version as well?
I’ve been doing Bikram 3x a week for 6 years and I’m antisocial and really don’t like people, you are right about that. My studio runs it too hot105+, humidity up to 60%. I’m going to start doing it at home 2x a week, only one studio session. I’m going to only cook it up to 85-95 degrees wearing sweats. I figure 85-90 in sweats equals 105 half naked.
So grateful to be able to do my Yoga practice at home during this crazy time! Thak Maggie!
Thank you so much for posting this class! I love your clear instructions!
Just saved this wonderful video to my quarantine workout file. Thank goodness it’s pretty hot(ish) in my back yard. Thanks for this class!!!
Fantastic video, this will be great when travelling, visiting family or don’t have the full 90 minutes, thank you!
also there is a slight level of exhibitionism when it comes to the outfits. First time Ive ever seen men in mankinis/underwear and why this has to be i dont know. 90 minutes in your underwear is uniquely bikram
Hi
Is it okay to have a super cold shower right after class is finished
Thanks. Have just done my first Bikram class (going in without any pre-conceptions) and this has helped understand what I went through and what I can expect going forward.
Appreciate you sharing this time with us. Good wishes!!! I did love and I did follow the instructions
Im so happy I’ve found you Maggie you have such a Soft persona, I have never connected with other instructors but I feel connected with what you have say! An absolute gem of a teacher
Best 30 minutes of my life during this whole lockdown!! Glad I found you! Thank you so much!!
Ive finally done my first Bikram Yoga this week! Ive been practicing hatha yoga, power yoga and astangha for over 20 years. For now I feel Bikram Yoga is the most effective, direct to the point class ive ever done! Very physical yoga! The heat is amazing for the practice! Anyway sometimes I go to a yoga class and the teacher has practice yoga for like 5 years he/she looks like a newby however in Bikram since the teacher is only guiding it doesn’t make much difference if he/she has not practice yoga for so a long time, as long as he/she can guide well! Bikram sequence has really what is necessary and safe for a body flexibility and health! However when a person go to a yoga teacher training and create a class with their own sequence or mix other techniques such as breathwork or remove the lengh of a class bycrekoving the pranayamas I feel there is a danger there! I do not thrust this bom of yoga teacher training a beginner need ti be very careful by choosing a yoga studio!
My goal is to lose weight. Would I be able to achieve it without the heat? I tried you 90 mins hot yoga at home. Thank you!
A big THANKS to you Michelle from across the country in Florida!!!!
Thank you! Such a great gift to have for keeping up the practice from home. Clear instructions, just the right amount of time.
Dear Maggie,
This is Maider, from the Basque Country (Spain). During these days that we have to stay at home due to the Coranavirus Emergency, practicing Bikram Yoga everyday with you is a blessing.
Thank you so much for your wisdom and your healing sweetness.
Namasté,
Maider
Interesting class, I will definitely try it again. Namaste!
I’ve done this every day for a week now. I’m used to Bikram classes and I love love love doing a 30 minute version at home during COVID time. I just don’t feel like the full 90. You’ve put this sequence together so beautifully. Your postures are gorgeous. Cute lil smile. It’s been a joy this week. I must try your others. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing 60 mins express class…I m feeling good as can’t move out due to corona lockdown.thank u
Supporting my local yoga studio is, of course, heartfelt and needed during the studio closure. However, it awesome to be able to set my mat up in front of my gas fireplace,, relax and enjoy. Thank you for this gift.
Thank you for making this vid. I first discovered these postures with Raquel Welch’s 80s fitness video! Then Bikram classes. It’s so great to see a knowledgeable teacher sharing a shortened version, especially for those who are new or when some of us need to get back into it. Namaste!
Awesome practice. Thanks so much for uploading full 90 minute class! I can’t do the hot yoga due to a skin condition so I really appreciate this at home practice.
Thanks for this. The Bikram studio in my town shut down in January, and thenthe shelter in place action. I am going to do this 60 minute class for 30 days for the classic 30 in 30.
i was so distracted by the chick in the front who just DIDNT get it ahah
Wow I remember a video of the class wasn’t allowed on Youtube because of copyrights and in order to keep the integrity of the practice for those who owned Bikram studios but since Bikram Choudhury’s allegations everyone has gone rogue…..I LOVE IT!! THANK YOU!!
Who would have guessed. Here we are, doing bikram home in Finland as world has gone crazy. But this helps me keeping sane… Thank you.
Thank you for continuing to keep this practice in your YouTube offerings. It’s the perfect instruction and length of time for me now during our CCC: Collective COVID-19 Circumstances. Very grateful!
I’ve been doing Bikram for over 10 years, but I cannot seem to focus enough right now to do a longer version of the series while sheltering in place, so this is really helpful. I really appreciate that you have put together this 30-minute version and shared it publicly. Thank you!
Great work out I miss my Bikram Yoga very much I will practice four days a week but now that I have this on YouTube I could practice every day thank you thank you thank you
All the yoga studios are closed but I got to do Bikram yoga on my porch tonight with you. Thank you
i have been to many many different bikram studios and this is really good instruction on all poses
This is really difficult to hear, you seem to be to far away from the mike.
thank u for share this, im going to do everyday on this quarantine ❤️
Yoga is suppose to be meditative and relaxing so maybe more show and less yell… this class would irritate me and disconnect me from the mental part.
Maggie, Thank you for posting this video because it has helped me a lot. I moved to Nicaragua from NYC where I had done a lot of yoga and was a Vinyasa yoga teacher for 10 years. I had done probably hundreds of classes of Bikram throughout NYC in those years. I moved to Nicaragua to run a NGO to help people that informally working at trash dumps by giving them scholarships to study and find another path for themselves. During this process I gained weight and was under a lot of stress. Yoga is not common enough in Managua and especially at the level of Bikram. Last year I bought a space heater in the USA and brought it to Nicaragua. My room here is very hot already, but with the space heater, it is just as hot or even more so then my Bikram classes in NYC, I think. I turned to youtube for the possibility I could find Bikram online and your class came up. I put a long length mirror up to see myself while you lead the practice. I have been doing it about 3 times a week and I notice an immediate difference when I weigh myself and the people who comment about me outside. Right now, Nicaragua is going through a lot of civil unrest. There has been a lot of violence and looting. Not all the time, but randomly. Doing your class here has helped me so much deal with this stress as well. I have done your two video so many times and every time I have said to myself, “you need to thank her.” So I am here thanking you. As a former yoga teacher I know the gratefulness and happiness in being thanked. And now as your student here, I want to say the same to you. Thank you for helping me bring Bikram to my home in Nicaragua and helping me deal with the LIFE. Namaste! Tim
I love bikram yoga but i do agree with his points about the practice
great class! love the calming music throughout and very clear verbal directions.
Great instructions. This is really helping me to get stronger every day. Thank you!
Sound is too low, also lighting condition could he improved and you’re standing too far better compassion/photography could help a lot…
Sorry too many critics in one comment but I thought constructive comments could help.
Me daría mucha verguenza publicitar un sistema de yoga plageado y que el “maestro” sea un violador.
Bikram is nothing special or magical, and what this guy is saying is true
Thank you for this video! I’ll be using this video while I miss yoga during coronapocalypse. So grateful!
hey, can I ask you guys a question? There’s this one word in the set that I never understand. I don’t know how to write it; it sounds like “gloots”, “squeeze your gloots”. Do you know what it is? thxs
You’re all keeping me company through corona isolation. Thanks for the class, stay safe everyone. xxx
Thanks, I had a stay in place nice hot room 60 via your class. I am using a small space heater and the hot shower and setting up in my bathroom. Working great.
Everything about this was fabulous, wonderful teacher. Nice, calm vibe felt like a private class. thank you
I havent done Bikram in many years. Probably 10 years or so. Taking a class on Friday and want to be prepared. Thank you for this informative video! Here’s to sticking with Bikram for good this time!
Bikram script tells us “pulling is the objective of stretching.” Interesting point concerning the non symmetrical cooling that may occur after a hot yoga sesh. A 5 minute COLD shower immediately following your session is a good solution. I used bikram to recover from near death experiences, Scars to prove it! I credit bikram yoga in getting me back into great condition, quickly. Love it.
I’m a Yoga instructor. There aren’t many Yoga classes this good online. Thanks so much
Maggie, I am so glad I found your class. To be able to continue practicing amidst all that’s going on.. what a great stress reliever. I can’t thank you enough. ❤️
this is perfect, thanks so much for putting this video out! ted from Cali
Thank you so much. Because of the social distancing I have to practice at home. Your video is a great help!
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I love Bikram Yoga and haven’t been able to practice because I have two little ones at home and barely any alone time. 1,5 hours is impossible for me at the moment, 30 minutes I can squeeze in! Really happy about this so thank you!:D
Wow. I felt so good after following this video. I literally released tears by the end I felt so relieved.
Please do a full Hot 26. Loved your calls. Would love to try a full one since I cant make it to my normal Hot 26 class. Cheers
Thank you. sooooooooo Much!!!! I absolutely LOVED your class. It was the best 1 hour Bikram series I have done! Perfect save for quarantine times!
Absolutily the best, the voice so calm. Please add more video
But it’s not Bikram Yoga. He stole it from his guru who invented it. You people should practice Ethics instead.
yeah….I just found something very meaningful to do in this lockdown… great work Maggie!
This is the perfect class and perfect length to get in a yoga session whilst (what feels like) the rest of the world goes mad. Thank you so much for this. I’ve been doing this for the past three weeks (twice a week), and getting deeper in some poses and feeling so much better all over. Thank you so much for this class!!
One of the best workouts for begginers and all levels love to start my day with this simple but strong workout
We are now on lock down in New Zealand and I am going to miss my hot studio however your video has been a life saver. Doing it in the sun is almost as good. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent cues! I actually felt like I got more out of this being able to focus at home, Thank you for posting,
Absolutely love your videos. I’ve been doing your bikram videos for over a year now as part of my journey in reversing my rheumatoid arthritis, it’s helped heal my joints so much!! Thank you!
Just found these. Thank you so much for putting all this together.
I really are in love with this vinyasa. My husband and me practice it daily but at about 70 degrees instead of 100. Is that ok? Thank you for sharing!!!!
I HAD REALLY A GREAT TIME, THANK YOU,I WAS WAITING FOR SHORT YOGA CLASSES IN BIKRAM,THANKYOU
Ahhhh…what a relief to get my Bikrm back on!! Thanks for this! COVID SURVIVAL!!
Before starting yoga do v have to do warm up exercises also?
I Iove this class. Being an older person I may be doing more YOu Tubes and this is perfect!!!
Thank you for your video. I have been doing Bikram for about two years and I always sleep well during the night. I do not need sleeping or anxiety pills after a class. Also when I am in a class I do what my body can I never, never follow the teacher. That is a way to survive Bikram yoga.
I’m so sorry. I lost the new link you sent to me. I’m doing this class right now. [email protected] msn.com
Thank you so much that was PERFECT and you have a lovely bedside I mean MATT side manner: ))))
Hey Yogis, we know your love Bikram but check out latest Quarantine yoga flow for when you only have 30 minutes but need to sweat (it will definitely make you sweat no heater required!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-NtpsI70jo
Was an ‘addict’ for 5 years did this 5 times a weeks and then my local studio shut and then I learned about Choudry and then I didn’t practise for 3 years and THEN Coronavirus and then I thought I better do something and then I found this and then I realised I was fat, weak and inflexible and THEN I realised despite Choudry this yoga is gold and it turns out it was keeping my tummy flat and my body strong and I had taken it for granted. I am delighted to be doing this amazing practice again now that it’s allowed on YouTube. Thank you Maggie I love your pace and style, this is helping an old fatty find peace and strength in very testing times
Great class but the loud swallowing sounds were somewhat annoying at times
