Made harder by hitting the target and not just getting it over the height line
You need to control the eccentric phase cause eccentric phase teach you the right movement and prevent injury. You don’t need to overemphasize eccentric phase (5-6 sec) if you don’t want DOMS but it’s not the kind of training (but diet) that lead to hypertrophy.
There is only one right way to do an exercise, the other are bullshit.

1. Crossfitters build muscle because of the nature of their training. However, the focus of their training is not to build muscle.
2. You are correct in saying form is important for injury prevention, but there is perhaps a more important reason, as far as athletes are concerned. Good form = efficient movement = more weight moved over a longer distance for a faster time = victory.

This is just a question: Does anybody else think that going for time destroys good form & technique. I mean i didn’t really see any benefit derived by either participant, who worked extremely hard and did a great job, in their sit ups?
Is it not the trainer’s responsibility to stop them when he sees the bad form and correct this… isn’t that why monthly payment is much higher than other gyms and clubs, because of the expertise on hand?
I like the wall mounted bumpers… I haven’t been able to find those for my gym unless I get them from Australia! Anyone know where to get them?

I think any kind of resistance training damn sure applies the same rules lol. Form is important not because it looks good, but because you can really hurt yourself if done incorrectly (which has happened many times in crossfit). If they weren’t interested in building muscle then Crossfit would all be done on a treadmill haha. Do you even train???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

So what constitutes a “sit-up” to get an actual time in this workout? My understanding is that the shoulders pass the hips. These look like crunches. Thoughts?

Did Annie in 9:34 today. My sit-ups were solid but slow. Had to take a few short breaks. My DUs were slow but unbroken in most rounds.

not good in sit ups. they dont touch the Floor behind and in front. Double Unders are very good but the good times Comes from cheating in sit ups. there is a much smaller way to go

As a woman I think these women look amazing. Why would you want to look like one of those emaciated fashion models who look as though they’d be knocked over with a feather when you could achieve this look which not only looks awesome but is extremely healthy.

Do you understand why it’s important for body builders to control the eccentric phase of motion? If you do, please explain why you think it’s important for a CF athlete to apply the same form? They’re not interested in building muscle (hypertrophy). Do these women look like they need your advise? People are trying to fit CF into a training parameter that they understand. CF has nothing to do with the way they train yet they believe it should follow their rules.

its understandable that form will be compromised, but i am questioning the time they got it done because of the editing. i rather see something like this in 100% real time. other than that, get that explosive core money.

Hey lets lift this moderately heavy weight until we pass out! Yeaaa, we da beeesst!!! Elite!!! The fact that a lot of these exercises have caused numerous serious injuries yet they are still pushed, show little to no respect for the world of fitness and/or weightlifting. Crossfit is nothing but the mecha for douchbagery, i.e the kid on the playground that thinks he’s the best because he swings higher than everybody else…until he swings too high and busts his ass when he flies off the swing.

The details said 135lb overhead squat, but in the video the plates are only 25lb each so with the 45lb bar, shouldn’t that be 95lb?
Not to take away from what these ladies are doing because its amazing but the weights are exaggerated. They should fix it up and put the real weights in otherwise it can give rope the wrong idea. I don’t know these chicks but I bet they wouldn’t finish the wod as fast with the rxd weights that they’re claiming.

I see so many crossfit video, where people do badly the squat exercices, they should do it without weight first, i think bodyweight exercices are enough or the first step in body building, the worst exercice i ve seen in crossfit is the wheel exercice, they all do it badly, i can imagine the lower back pain
