You have to be careful with protein supplements because you might not be consuming enough protein.. you can have 21 grams of whey protein but your body only utilizes/absorbs 7 grams of it.. usually our bodies absorb more protein from animal protein.. whey is high quality but you need like 6 times more than you thought!! This info shocked me when Dr. Berg said this in his channel!! Go see what he says for yourself. Interesting! It doesn’t do any good for people who are supposed to be sedentary for losing weight. I know because I’m one of those people that is supposed to be more sedentary according to the doctors. I only gained weight when I tried it even when I was working in more active job. We protein is very good at helping me to gain weight no matter what I’m doing.I haven’t noticed that it helped anybody in my family who had diabetes and so hopefully it helps somebody.

I’m 17, I used to drink whey protein shakes once a day. I’ve always had some acne but it wasn’t too severe. After a month or so of drinking whey, my face broke out over and over again. It´s reasonably cheap and a good way to up that protein intake without too much energy as well. Kasein is not bad either.

Hi I’m 23 years old I take a Pea based protein because when I took whey I had really bad indigestion and acne. After 2 years of no protein. (I hated the side effects for that long) I switched to pea and although it tastes much worse I feel much better and I have no acne,bloating and I don’t feel lethargy. Hi there! I was hoping someone could help advise me as I’m absolutely clueless about this stuff. I’m a skinny guy, it runs in the family, and I try eating as much as I can but I always fill up way too fast. If I continue eating then I feel like vomiting and choking on my food. When I try working out, I do heavier weights and less reps. I’m trying to build decent amount of muscle but I don’t want to be huge (though I don’t think I have to worry about that considering how much of a stick I am). Is whey a good option if this is what I’m struggling with? And are there negatives that haven’t been mentioned in this video regarding health risks in the future? I’ve for some reason always has negative connotations with protein powder but never really understood why, if it’s just social stereotypes or actual fact. Plant protein does work for me. I have tried so many brands wheys even isolates have gotten some really big boils. Plant-based still gives me boils but it’s like 10% compared to whey.

I used to get sickening side pains when I would drink my protein shakes (even with plant based protein) and supplements in general… I would then get dizzy (probably blood pressure) and extremely dehydrated… it would last for over an hour in the morning after I took them… then i noticed that the days I didn’t take a protein shake or one without protein I was better off… I have since stopped all supplements and feel great and so is my physique… after a workout I simply munch on some jerky and I’m fine… from my experience don’t like to put anything synthetic or processed into my body

I never had any issues, and I do an hour of workout, 4 protein shakes and 2 meals a day.

Actually there is a certain allergen found in milk which is present in WPC and WPI which leads to hairfall in certain individuals but this allergen is missing in the whey protein hydroslates due to the high level of processing, making it completely safe to use.

It can be good but make sure you only take a set amount and still drink a lot of water. I’ve gone into acute renal failure (very scary) because I was pounding 8 protein shakes a day. Hit me a little over a year later. I was very fortunate that I didn’t need to be on dialysis. But one of my kidneys only operates at half capacity from the doctor told me.

Protein Powder (simple like ProtoeinX for my own analysis) or no protein powder, acne had no effects, neither positive nor negative. Skin care routine, genetics, hormone imbalances/ responses, etc cause acne. I’ve experienced this personally guys

I think some proteins going into the body all at once is way too much. It causes the brain question what are you doing to the body? My uncle started taking protein he just has hair loss he is not fully bald just has a bald spot, he had good hair I’m gonna take protein for a year and STOP!

I witnessed a lot of cases (among friends) that got noticeable hair loss after taking protein supplement. Also some of them (that measured) got higher testosterone levels after. But this is not directly tied to protein intake itself. A lot of them changed life habits, start training regularly, stopped smoking and drinking, removed sugars from died, started eating healthier etc. and these habits changes DO increase testosterone. So maybe that is why we notice hair loss in people that take protein? Cos they actually do other stuff that increases testosterone and lead to healthier life habits (and unfortunately hair loss).
Milk consumption could increase the level of IGF. But what if the protein is taken with water? Then it won’t matter, will it?

I’m balding and started to take finasteride and Minoxidil to slow down the progress of balding. Luckily no negative side effects with finasteride . However I started to take whey protein isolate for my workouts and then decided to stop using it when I heard that I could accelerate my hair loss. Now I’m concern to use it. Because wherever I search. It says the same thing, that it could accelerate the progress. anyways hopefully they do more researchs about whey protein and hair loss.

I have been using whey protein since 5yrs now. I dont know about Kidney damage and acne, but, our hair is made of a hard protein called keratin. Every dermatalogist recommends increasing intake of protein in case of hair fall. And you say that protein could cause hairfall. I trust the dermats.

I have taken protein powder for years and haven’t noticed ANY side effects at all. Same with my dad that has been working-out with an almost daily in-take of protein powder for like 15 years or something. Just stick to the recommended amount and you’re good, the last thing we need is for people to think protein powder is steriods 2.0.. because it’s not even remotely close.
Eat and drink as you do normally, but add the recommended amount of protein powder before or after your work-out. Don’t replace meals with protein powder. I mean.. it’s just basic shit
