News flash, Doc, people can easily do their own research online because many of the studies surrounding supplement use are published for all to see. It’s clear that a lot of doctors are being bribed by big pharma to say all kinds of nonsensical things about vitamins, it’s a shame that we can’t even trust doctors anymore. I take up to 8 supplements daily, including 4000 IU of D3 and I swear by them. I’ve never taken any prescription drugs and I never will if I can help it, and I’m 50 and in excellent health.
The bottom line, do your own research and consult a professional herbalist if you’re not comfortable on your own. If you decide to take supplements, especially in higher dosages, be sure to get your blood levels and liver enzymes checked regularly for abnormalities and toxicity because everything that goes into your body gets processed by your liver, so toxicity is a real concern with some supplements. I saw a infomercial on tv and bought this vitamin d supplement. I started taking them twice a day following instructions and didn’t know I was taking 5000 units + daily For about 2 plus weeks or so. I began waking up around 4am to urinate and now I’ve been urinating more often even though I stopped several days back my doctors believes this is the cause I never knew vit d can do that if that’s in fact the case

There is hardly any downside because most ppl couldn’t get toxic levels if they tried. And those who are deficient or low should have a bolus dose prescribed to up their level in a short period of time. It’s an outrage health authorities mostly haven’t informed the public about this yet. If vitamin D would be patented, we would hear a lot more about it, but there’s no money in it for the pharmaceutical companies

My Vit D levels are borderline according to my doctor, so im taking 1000 i.u. daily as liquid. I hate the sun, im always avoiding it, and i spend most time indoors away from windows. (If what ever it is i need from the sun can penetrate glass) So for me i definatley do need to take vit daily because i do not plan on sitting in the sun or changing my life style.

Why would that even matter unless your body does not produce cholesterol? Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome is a condition where the body does not produce enough cholesterol and it’s extremely rare. This ‘bad cholesterol’ (the cholesterol that is deposted into blood) is absolutely necessary for cell survival. @2trey4five There are different types of cholesterol w/ different purposes. If you ask anyone that actually knows what they are talking about they will tell you that there is good (HDLhigh density lipoprotein) cholesterol and bad (LDLlow density lipoprotein). You need both, but people tend to be low in HDL which should be higher and high in LDL which should be lower. There are also VLDLs and many other lipids. It’s called a lipid profile and it’s more complicated than you think.

She basically says, go to the doc and have it tested, if its low, take 10,000i.u a day for 4-6 weeks, then go back to the doc and have it tested again. if its high enough, go on a maintenece intake of 1,000i.u. I would think it would be higher then that, especially in the winter. Try the 10,000 a day for the winter. less in the summer if she is outside a lot.

Give me a break. EVERYONE should be taking at least 4000 a day. Get a blood test for D3. I’ve been taking 6-8000 a dsy since 2008 and my level was it 41% according to a blood test I had two weeks ago. I’m 63 years old and my blood pressure is a little bit high but probably because I work in the airline industry and I have a lot of stress. I take no other medication and I haven’t been sick in more than 10 years.Plus I live mostly on protein shakes and never go in the Sun. Figure that one out.

I was watching a lecture by some prof at University of California the other day and he said that the best way to absorb Vitamin D is by sun exposure. He went on to say that one can’t get adequate amount of Vitamin D in North America between November and February (since its away from the equator and the earth is titled away from the sun). Nothing wrong with going to a tanning solon if you do it in moderation. If you burn you stayed in the bed too long. You start out doing it for only a few minutes and work your way up. Also stay away from the level 4 and 5 beds. I’ve been doing it for 4 years and my skin is actually healthier than before. When I skip tanning for a month or so my acne comes back. By tanning your skin gets stronger and youre less likely to burn when you do go in the sun.

The international units he’s talking about are just plain to low. The consense I think is to get about 4000 IU. Some say 6000. That’s low enough to prevent the toxicity and yet get adequate levels of D. Have a test done and check for levels above 30 ng/ml which are considered adequate. I play golf once a week and take a 1000 IU of day and my levels were 31 ng/ml which is sufficient but I want to take it higher.

My doctor pushes Vit D bigtime. My question is why not just tell everybody to take your vitamins? They don’t because there is no money in healthy people. They want us sick. More fear in sick people.
I contracted Covid-19 on June 17th and my entire family was shocked since I’ve been a health guru since in my early 20s and I am now 55. My vitamin D levels at the time I contracted the virus were 42ng/mL. When this virus hit America I started getting more sun and increased other supplements along with using an infrared sauna to improve heat shock protein activation which basically improves immune function. Regardless though, I contracted the virus. However, I believe that everything I did helped me fight and beat the virus without severe complications. I had low grade fever, loss sense of taste, and mild cough and after 12 days all symptoms were gone. However, it did take a couple of weeks to get my strength back as my metabolic rate was so high fighting the virus that I lost 9 pounds of muscle and fat even though I am considered lean. Fat is toxic so lose the body fat!
I didn’t hear her mention magnesium, BUT it is very important to take magnesium daily along with the D because it activates vitamin D and it also regulates it so everything stays in homeostasis. If you don’t take magnesium then you will at some point become deficient and have a host of negative symptoms like eyes twitching, muscle aches and spasms, anxiety, sleeplessness, and a few others. Also, taking 10mg of of boron per day will help spare magnesium and D which in turn will increase your D levels. If you live down south or a place where you can get sun, then work your way up to getting 20 minutes per day and it will be the best thing you can do for your body.

My Vit D level is 220 mmol/L equivalent to US to about 80ug/dI. I acheived this by taking 5000IU per day and 20min full exposure to sunshine( when available).

Doctors only put patients on ventilators when they feel the patient is at risk of dying within 24-48 hours if they are not placed on a ventilator. Maybe a small percentage of people would have survived off of the ventilators, but they are truly a last resort. Also, people can be quickly weaned off of ventilators as soon as they are no longer needed.
My little sister went to bed with body aches and was found unresponsive later that night and taken to the hospital and was put on a ventilator right away and I also thought because of the ventilator she wound up on dialysis a week later never having had kidney problems or any reason to be on dialysis then she died, I told my friends and family to get out in the sun, when these asswipes say stay inside go outside when “they” say go outside you come inside! I told everyone I could that vitamin D would be very important at this time but no one listens cause WHO AM I? This woman absolutely makes sense, people go out and get some serious sun and see your PCP to see where your D levels are at. So now they’re spraying the skies again blocking our sun cause they know that we know vitamin D is important right now✌

I’m from Minnesota, and I have a very severe vitamin D deficiency, I get prescribed 500,000 iu a week. That shit plays a crazy part and your bodies mechanism.
The reason they were deficient was because they were staying inside the hospital bed and before that they probably reduced their going outs already. That doesn’t necessarily mean it is somehow cause of death. It’s just a correlation. 4% is not a lot compared 96% but it’s significant. That’s hudnred thousands of people still dieing even though their levels are sufficient.
Its also important to inform that the carrier of the Vit D to be well absorbed in the body is Vit C
