I grow lemon thyme. I’ve been making tea from it for about a year. It’s tasty. I think Greek food uses thyme and sage a bit more as opposed to Italian (basil and oregano) Totally was trying to remember which herb is good for oral/throat infections. I went with yarrow. It’s not a real tasty tea however. Lol. Sharing this. My thyme has become invasive.

I have been using the bentonite clay based tooth powder for about two years now. Ill add some thyme after watching this video. I have gum disease and have had it for decades. The issue has cost me thousands over the years but Im 63 and determined to keep my natural teeth. I used to go for 4 cleanings a year and have had the deep tissue scraping which is expensive. Well since using the tooth powder I have gone down to 3 cleanings a year which saves me $200. After this last visit I am aiming for two like normal people! My dentist was blown away at the results. I have been extremely busy these last 6 months an have not flossed like I should have but my dentist said my gums are doing excellent. The clay based tooth powder is the Doug and Stacey recipe and I followed it verbatim. I went from heavy tartar,to medium and down to light. The difference in the bacteria is astounding. My halitosis is gone and my mouth feels fresh much much longer. People should ditch the toothpaste, even the so called “natural” ones. They are mostly designed to taste good and if you read the labels, they are full of chemicals, sweeteners and are pure garbage. My hygienist keeps insisting that Lister_e is a heavily guarded recipe of all natural ingredients, a very good product and that I should use it. I got a sample from her with my recent cleaning. It IS ALL CHEMICAL INGREDIENTS!!! So I dumped it down the toilet. Now on to a dental mouthwash that will take me that leap further forward. You are a blessing to your viewers and we love you and Mr Rain!(
When people ask me if I have time I always tell them I have all kinds of Thyme just outside my door.
Hi Heidi, thyme should never be boiled. I Lived in France and I was told by a naturopath of a convent in Eastern France where about 30 years ago a kind nun made bedtime tea each evening for her sisters using herbs from the garden but always using thyme. Sadly, one by one these nuns became very ill with liver cancer and I think 11-12 died. After an investigation it was found that thyme releases an irritant to the liver when it is boiled at high temperature. Like you I always loved thyme tea, but I’ve been very cautious of it since, it’s better to infuse it for a short time, or add it towards the end of cooking just passing this on, thanks for the video. S
LOVE these profile videos! You are a wealth of information! Thanks:)
I learn so much…i suppose that thym infusion will kill parasites also…in humans…thanks so much……your so sweet to tell us all this…
Great info on Thyme, as it brought back memories of my Childhood,. My Mom gave us kids Thyme tea as well as also Lemongrass also called Fevergrass in the Caribbean… Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood. and getting me back to drinking my thyme, besides just cooking with it. Ninette BirdThe Caribbean Wife.
By the way, if one is very ill with three of the illnesses you mentioned, would drinking three cups of this tea help more than one? I know that often more is not always better.

As soon the respiratory problems started I started to use my home made thyme syrup with such great result.
Much better than any drugstore remedy.
Nature is the Gods pharmacy. Try it, you will love it.
Wow! As always I’m blown away. As I was watching this video, I was trying to calm down my foot fungus. Not kidding. I’m going to really get busy on the herbal medicine.
The herb and tea videos are my favorite, alot of great info on thyme that I didn’t know. Thank you for the valuable medicinal properties. Blessings
When everyone talks about making tea with herbs, how do you do that? Do you add it to an empty tea bag or just to the water and strain out? Such great information! Thank you!
I have a question and I think an answer. I think the thyme you have is called hi ho silver. My question is can you make a tincture with thyme?
I just pick up ome German Thyme early this year…i love it..it’s my go to herb right now..I use it in soups, but my favorite way of using it…is when I add it to the breakfast bowls…it just kicks it up a notch
I’m curious since you and Patrick stopped taking medication for underactive thyroid gland seven years ago, have you gone back for testing of your thyroid gland to see how it functions now? I ask this mostly because my mother, 83 years old, has been taking thyroid medication for many, many years. I believe there are better alternatives such as what you and Patrick are doing, however, I know my mother (and rightfully so) will ask about lab results to support your experience with an alternative replacement for thyroid medication. Thank you. We look forward to hearing more about your thyroid results.
I had cough tincture from Germany, main ingredient is thyme! Now I have my own thyme tincture, fore the nasty cough hubby gets once a year (he will get otc cough medicine and complain it doesn’t work , then he will take my stuff and bam, cough gone!)
Good to hear what else it does! Thanks!
Great info Heidi…. I love your herb videos. Thanks for sharing. God’s blessings, Kim.
Great video full of great info. Can’t wait for my thyme to grow more. This year is a waiting game.
Hi there Heidi. I’m just busy moving my pigs and as it’s so hot here, I’ve sat down to have a break. Really pleased to have a notification of this video. This is very thymely!!! Lol I love what your saying.. very interesting re worming. Ive grown wormwood this year hoping to find out how to use it as a wormer. ( If you have any tips feel free to share.) I’ve been using my own version of your mineral powders on my family and animals, with great results on the chicks. But…. now I’m thinking to create a herbal mineral tonic for the chicks after watching this video. I too have cured my underactive thyroid after 26 years of medications. The mineral powders and also home made Lugol’s iodine have been the final pieces in my armour.
From 125 micrograms to zero is just fabulous. And three years back they were ready to up it again!! Well I better get back to those pigs now or they will be trying the weak spots. I’m soaking some home cured home reared bacon for my dinner tonight. Bye for now. Looking forward to your next video.
I drink 4cups a day and one before I go to bed I use it in roast meals and salads.
Does this include all the thymes? I just bought lemon thyme and planted it in with my tomatoes. Smells amazing too. Thanks for all that info. I had no idea! I’m much more knowing of foraged medicinal than herbal.
I already grow lemon thyme but now I want to grow lots more of it. Thanks for the great info. I love your videos.
Yes it does make you feel better. I prefer my thyme tea as a colddrink it’s very refreshing pick me up.
Great! Thank you
I never knew thyme had so many beneficial uses.
A recently reposed Saint of the Eastern Orthodox Church gave a vision very recently to a Greek elder concerning the Coronavirus. St. Nikephoros the Leper urges us to continue to go to Church and take communion (which is extremely hard to do now), but amongst the spiritual advice he says to drink thyme. Whether or not you believe the saint’s message, it’s clear that thyme tea would work well. Drink hot water teas a lot, since the virus starts in the throat. The tea would flush down the virus into your stomach where it would die from the acids, preventing viral infection and too much of a high load. I would also add in lemon to the thyme tea (lemon breaks down mucus and is great for your overall body health, even breaks down stones, and the thyme is anti-viral)
Hi, can I use the flowers as well in my tea from Pitsa thyme?
Burned some thyme mixed and blended with the green herbs “Mary Jane” and used that to help with the .. and ☕️ tea more so.. great video. And yes I dried out the thyme in the oven just ah little over 160 degrees for 5-6 min to the . Enjoy
I steep bay leaves and thyme in a cup of hot water after a few minutes I help myself to a nice cup of tea
Hi sir, I have a thyme plant and I was wondering if I can make my own tea leaves instead of buying them?
can you use thyme spice, to make the tea? or does it have to be fresh for effect?
How many times a day to drink thyme? Thanks very much for your video
Sounds awesome but some evidence or science facts would have been helpful
So very true, thyme tea can cure a bad cold and sore throat in 2 to 3 days, drinking it all day long (no need antibiotics). I noted also its calming effect on the body, subsequently lowering blood pressure. Great video, thank you John for sharing.
