ventures are a bitch to adjust. the kingpins are slanted on an angle
I skate mini logo decks, they’re just as good as most other companies but half the price.
U should really try blind boards and they have sick designs I personally like the og reapers
This has got to be the first review I’ve ever watched where someone said anything negative about Mini Logo boards.
A lot of people think I’m weird, but my favorite board company is element.
Sounds like our first Santa Cruz was a defective board you should have contacted them and they would have given u a new deck
For me Deathwish/baker and Stereo are one of my favorite boards, for real I really love the shape of stereo.
Hey can you do the landyachtz sidewalker and I love you’re videos and keep it up
I ride Titus Lites Lows. (German Brand) Love them! But I own Independent Highs as well. Both are great but I prefer the Titus because they’re low ^^.
I think I pop higher on the Indy Highs and Manuals are easier, but I have more confidence on the Titus Lows on Shove-it’s for example. (less likely to hit your shin:’D and the lower center of gravity helps with confidence too)
Showing all those broken skate decks was lowkey the biggest flex of 2020, not only does he have the money to buy them all, he skates so much he breaks them
Probably the best explaining video about trucks, helped me a lot and I finally got 147s thunders.
Keep up the good job!
My son age 14: “Dad, why don’t you skate with me sometime”? Me: (age 52) watching this video with him..:50 “broken arm”….:54 “Broken hip”…etc., etc
Have you ever skated a Shortys board I stopped using mine once the company stopped making them I mostly use what ever blank I can get they are more hit than miss for me
Only boards I’ve had were Power Deck and Airwalk. Power Deck was kinda my first and I’m pretty sure I outgrew it. I lost my Airwalk board long ago but that one was better. I always wanted a board from either Zero, Element, RDS or Anti-Hero. They always seemed cooler to me
I’ve tried most of them independent and venture should be 1st choice, thunders are ok
Don’t get Baker if u skate street and like to do flat tricks Baker will chip chip chip chip chip chip
8 is skinny? I started on a 7.5 Baker and just now started riding a 8.125
I wasn’t paying attention to his face I was just playing skate3 while listening to him. Also thunder trucks seem like the go to thing for me anyway.
I like bombing alot of hills and sometimes i need to turn a lil quick but still be stable would you say venture titauims are my best best? I think so thyre also in the lows catorgory pls help lol
There’s also a brand called Powell Peralta that make very good skateboards in my opinion
Santa Cruz has been good for me but REAL tail broke on my 3rd day skating it when I went to pop. Santa Cruz is my go to. I skate best on their old school reissues and Erick Winkowski models. Fucking love the winkowski decks. I love the Cruz Missile 2 concave. It’s deeper for you front foot with a mellow feeling tail. It’s really good for transition but I still take them street skating. I’ve always liked the shape. My very first skateboard was a 1987 NASH catatonic that I got in 2001 for $20 from a flea market. I still have a modern deck but I don’t skate it as often though. The Antihero 8.0 I have has been really good. I think the REAL deck might of had a defect.
My favorite deck so far has been a isle deck. (The one with coke can on shelf.) Currently skating a greenish FTP deck. But have really only skated it once or twice. It feels ok tho. Not a fan of the FTP grip I put on it tho.
Deathwish! I’m big, I’m rough, but my Deathwish is tough as fuck lol
does 147 thunder low trucks exist? or something like that im a beginner. i have a 8.0 deck and want to ride low trucks. i want to start with thunder someone. someone have a idea? deck 8.0 trucks must be low and i want thunder:) any ideas?
I like Toy Machine and Enjoi but I feel their decks aren’t very strong. They have a great shape though
Wow great video Mathew Digiovanna! I rate is a SOLID 69/420!!
360 flips feel really nice on Thunders but I guess it’s all personal preference informative video enjoi it
Primitive has some dope designs and they’re really good, but I am board hopping atm trying different ones currently trying my first anti hero.
Can anyone tell me a good brand that sells skateboards under 60$?
I’ve only ever skated a Anti-Hero and Girl, They both have amazing graphics, but in my opinion Anti-Hero handles better.
You do understand most of these boards come from the same woodshop? When you buy a board you buy it’s marketing as there is only around 5 or so places that make decks.
Back in the day I had a $5 deck I got from a garage sale, I swapped it for a cheapish element board and then swapped that for an antihero. Just a quick story not that anyone cares
You got a Creature on your wall but you don’t even review it? What a shame…
Aye girl is my all time favorite brand but obviously i like other companies but girl i came back too after 10 years of not skating, im skating a Cory Kennedy pro model but of course a new model
Santa Cruz was my worst ever board, not even close. Baker, Birdhouse, and Element are my favorite.
More wheel bite with lows, but you can use risers. So realistically back to high truck specs.
My expirience
Real: gr8 but chipped kinda fast
Jart: basic boards not bad not anything special
Antiz: pop went out really fast and nose was long and mellow
Polar: gr8 board but chipped pretty bad on both sides
It seems that this guy can’t win a staring contest, jokes aside this helped
Yoo Christian, I’ve been watching you for years and years now, I’m always critiquing your videos to hopefully give you constructive feedback. My only feedback for the last few months is that you’re killing it! Great videos and editing on point. Keep it up
Id say that weight is pretty important too, When you get used to a weight you like and you ride something different you either strugle to pop or over pop to where you lose all control
I just got my first skateboard, dont know anything about it, i just know my trucks are fucked up the rubber in the middle ripped today any help?!
Dgk is my personal favorite but I’m not against trying new brands♂️
My Opinion
Baker: Average
REAL: Hit or Miss (Bad experience for me)
Organika: Trash
Girl: Trash
Enjoi: Trash
CREATURE: God Tier, Prestige 10 420/69 BEST BOARDS EVER
To prevent wheelbite, wax your deck right where your wheels always touch.
Thanks for the video didn’t know which trucks to get theres to many options but I think I’m gonna stick to the independents
Gx1000 and quasi are prettymuch same board. Both made at PSSTIX, all measurements are The same
I got super lucky because I switched from thunder to theeves and getting used to them was farely graceful
More channel promotion than content in this video?
Was hoping you’d go more into each component, like how the height of a truck affects size wheels you should/could skate, or how certain trucks change the wheelbase, which drastically affects the pop and flick feeling more than the height does, etc.
Sick video. Out here in Michigan I can only skate indys for street every ledge or curb is crust as hell so thunders would be done in a second. I have always enjoyed royal trucks for some reason though even though they wear down faster than any truck I’ve tried
Would love to see you rank all the trucks you used in the past. I’m currently going through truck crisis, because who doesn’t blame their board when you can’t land the tricks that you used to have lol
Trucks were the last thing I figure out for my setup when trying to figure out what I most comfortable with. Thunder light 148 is best for me for street skating but indy or ace work for me in the bowl on my big boards.
I should have just buyed the silver m trucks hollows instead of the indy stage 11 hollows. For me low trucks are more comfortable. I really miss those wheelbites
As a newbie that has money to experiment. ACE has worked best so far, has good turning, stable when not turning and it’s easier to pop for me than trucks with a longer wheelbase like thunder or ventures.
I stick to one brand bc I like how they feel…so I would find something that I like. I recommend krux and indys
I know it’s not the normal mainstream shoe you’d review but NOBODY has reviewed the FP intercept Neen Williams pro model! I need to know if it’s the real deal!
Really, a skateboard needs to be looked at as a whole. Even tho you did not get used to Indy’s, you could fix that by using a different deck wb/angle of pop. TLDR: You can make your indy’s pop like thunders and vice versa
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION: make sure you find a brand that has a casted in axle. It’s kind of a thing of the past (axle slip), but it’s still worth noting that some of the OG companies that first had casted axles are still amazing such as venture! Venture trucks All Day!
Ive only skated indys and krux but i really wanna skate ventures
Bushings are also very important. I recently discovered bones hardcore bushings and they are amazing. They allow smooth turning but with amazing rebound. I suggest switching out your bushings for these.
I just got a hit of nostalgia after hearing that skate 3 song
cannot wait to see the etnies joslin 2 on-feet review when you can. thinking of copping them as a backup skate shoes. oh ya, joslin 1 model is the best, hands down so far…
If you make ranking videos for wheels and bearings, you should take one of the worst items from each list put them together and skate them for a video. Like if you agree so he can see
I swear real decks last longer than any of the other decks I’ve tried
i miss the silver S class was like the lowest truck i ever skated and the best variant for me
pay attention to weight. If you go from a super light truck to some THICC indys, you might notice your board not coming around as fast on flips. Or you are having to jump higher on certain tricks. For an experienced rider so has great pop and goes fast it might not matter a whole lot. But for someone just starting out in year 1 or 2, a dramatic change in weight on the truck could set you back a step.
You have 149’s thunder trucks and they 8.5, 8.25 is thunder 148’s
Great coverage . Only thing you missed was how every brand aside from height sizing has a different wheelbase so gotta take that into account too. Stick a screwdriver through both truck base plates and you’ll see what I mean. Some stick out further than others.
U should review the “AcidPly” deck from Quasi skateboards next
Im getting kinda into skating right now and wanna build my first board can u sugested some wheels?
I tried almost every brand of trucks over the years. And I will not turn my back on indy trucks again. It never was worth it. Heck no. Indys are the best.
This helped me decide to give thunder 147 lights a try. Id be happy to break a truck from too much grinding because I really need to work on those.
I know you are no sponsor but like it would be sick if you got sponsored cuz then you would be considered as pro. And your skating skills are unreal
I heard that if you get tucks slightly smaller than your board it stops you from landing premo as often
I have independent hollows and they are my favorite trucks. I wanna try thunders next. Do you think they weigh the same as Indy hollows, or should I get thunder hollows?
Well this just answered my question about my tensor trucks. Thank you!!
For me, a little weird but I consider the weight of the trucks. I like my trucks light so hollows for me are the way to go. I don’t skate that hard anyways to break a truck. So it’s perfect to me and it’s easier to lift the board of the ground.
Hey @Christian Flores: I tried a lot of trucks. One thing that has helped me a lot is understanding what to prioritise (what you said + long lasting, turn, lightweight). I don’t personally need the strongest truck out there. I used to ride Indys, whose main selling points are resistance and turn. Turn was smooth but I soon found out that I can basically get used to any turning behaviour within “professional” brands; worst case scenario I changed bushings. The other thing is that virtually any “professional” truck for me will last long enough, and sure, Indys’ resistance is a plus but I would really prefer to gain on the lightweight side and sacrifice on durability. I pop better, I control spin better, I overall feel better. I found the best balance in Thunders or Ventures with hollow axle and kingpin. Indys were too heavy, and when I tried Tensor Mag Lights they were too light and flick seemed sort of out of control. Silver, Krux and Destructos were fine, but didn’t feel as good as Thunder, Venture or Indys in my personal opinion.
Chose venture for the purple bushings to match my purple baker deck and purple bones clear wheels.
In my first year of skating, i tried a lot of trucks. In the end i settled with thunder. Except for the bowl, i have independent on my bowl board. I have a set of thunder lows and a pair of thunder lights. Thunder is the first truck i have had that i didn’t feel the need to change the bushings out.
Yo Ik this video came out like a week ago but you should try Indy hollows since they’re lighter and are actually lower; 53.5mm compared to regular 55mm it may not seem like a lot but it makes a big difference
This is the second video saying thunder’s turn quicker than an Indy… I claim no way in hell. Nothing has come close to how sharp an Indy turns in my experience.
Hey man can you make a video on falling? On my second day on the board i wasn’t going fast enough to going over a small bump ended falling on my left arm fully extended getting a small fracture on my funny bone. If you can make a small video on it I would appreciate so much man (btw your videos are amazing)
Indys 4 life. (But there should be height options)
I am buying my first board! Not sure am i gonna get 8.25 or 8.5. What would be the best trucks from Thunder for those sizes?
When you order trucks from blue tomato, do they come in pairs or is it just one truck for $30?
Venture trucks have really really really bad bushings and they’re a bit heavy
Rn im on indies, just got into skating. Would thunder be better for street skating cuz thats what I wanna do when I’m decent at skating
Hi do you think a 12-13 year old should get an 8.0 board? It’s the only size I can get so do you think it will be okay if I get that size?
My truck question is kind of odd. I’m looking to build a back up board for skating when it’s wet outside. Are there any trucks/bearings/wheels that are better than others for this? Or is it a “you’re destroying anything, so buy cheap and buy often” situation?
Try Lite carbon fiber skateboard but it cost 199$ is pretty pricey
Yeh I have krux the thing about them is you need to change the bushings
Dude choosing is easy. You like skateboarding? Get Indy’s. You like skating a bunch of stair sets one day and then snapping your kingpin fakie flipping a two stair the next? If that’s the case then get yourself some Ventures!
I have 53 millimeter wheels I skate loose trucks but I want trucks that you need to put more force so I get comfortable popping and I want thunders
Dude the music. It’s distracting. Thank you for the video though.
I like my Bullet trucks. I think they are considered low since they are 51.5mm but I am looking for another brand at the same height and strength because Bullet uses two cones instead of cone and barrel bushings. Bullet has good strength but I can’t stand the bushing setup. I also use 8.5″ axle. The problem is most places don’t tell you in mm the height or they don’t have the width and height I’m looking for.
My absolute favorite board was a 7.75 Erik Ellington Deathwish and an 8.0 Eternal Life Blind board. Best boards by far. Least fav would be a Zero. Lasted me two weeks:/
There’s also a brand called Powell Peralta that make very good skateboards in my opinion
3 things you need to knew about getting trucks:
1.buy
2.independent
3.trucks
I am starting a skate Company. What trucks should I sell? Myself is a Independent user..
Thank you for the clip explaination clip. Although, I reget buying a pair of Thunder Trucks. I feel that Thunder gives a slight false advertisement, saying their HI’s. Now either purchase Ventures or go back to Indys.
good video, but when your audio quality is great you should probably leave the music. its quite hard to hear at times.
Where can I find thunder lows? And which is lower Indy or venture?
Independent forged hollows is the best truck with Bones hardcore medium bushings
It’s not entirely about the height, but also where the axle is. Thunder trucks axles stick out further from the center of the board than Indy does, resulting in a steeper angle.
Bro why the music it’s annoying your information is great but music spoilt it
Can anyone tell me if the brand “HUDORA” is any good? And should I go with “CRUZADE” or “NOMAD” I am so torn and idk which brand is better
Those value production. Absolutely love your videos lately, but can’t wait till you try to land that coffee trick shot again
great no-nonsense informational video. i tried a bunch of different trucks too and i think thunders are best for a more technical/street setup, while indys are a great all around choice. krux and venture are the most stable ones imo (meaning they dont really turn haha). have you tried aces or tensors?
My favorite blank is the red brail complete
I’ve been obsessing over Waltz.

Pretty sure mini logo stuff is made by Powell peralta so it’s not that bad, but it’s pretty good for cheap beginner stuff
you forget to tell about bushings, in my opnion, the soul of the trucks
Man, I can’t watch this with the relentless 8bit boss battle music
I got 8.125 board what Thunder trucks is better 147 or 148 anyone can help?
Pls do one for trucks, I’ve been skating tensors for 5 years and I rly want to know how other brands compare.
I just got Independent black and gold stage 11 titainium axle, hollow kingpin, forged baseplate trucks 129 size for my 7.75 deck. They are good and light. My first pair of indys. Cant wait to ride em.
I’m either thinking Indy or Venture. There’s this hill i like to ride in my community but i also am starting to learn tricks. I don’t want to put to much force on an ollie that it’s harder to lift off. But i want stable trucks.
i am currently riding the thunder team hollow lights. it pretty much felt like riding thunder lights with riser pads. i frickin love the new thunders. i skated indy hollows though and i hated it cause they were still pretty heavy.
I’ve been skating ventures for the longest time and they’re loose but that’s how I’ve grown to like my trucks and overall they’re pretty good the only thing I don’t really like too much about them is the the look maybe like they seem triangular bit heavy but overall pretty good
The problem with height is that there is no industry standard definition for “low” “mid” “high”. Most companies do not publish measurements and the real differences can be negligible.
Thunder high’s 147, since I ride a size 8.0 board. I will never go back. These feel the best to me when I am skating.
You for real just stole his content try to make your own next time
i had a dgk stevie deck and that was pretty good but the worst thing about it was the paint. it chipped off so easily and i could see it was very thing layer for the graphic. i now have a palace danny brady seahorse deck and the paint on that u can tell its much better quality paint, painted on to the board. im now after a new deck i would like to try a powell flight deck but the cunts are out of stock and i want 8″ deck.
Could you please review the vans atwood shoes?
They are cheap and I would really apreciate it.
when i used to skate krux they would kinda bend and strip fast
U just had to put in one of my favorite songs, that also is in one of my favorite games, so I want to play skate 3 and cigarette machine is stuck in my head.
Hey there, I was just wondering if you knew of the brand sanction. Their trucks wheels and boards are so cheap and I was just curious why. If you know anything about sanction trucks or wheels could you pls let me know!
Today I got a 9.25 board and some ace 66s and there fs my favorite trucks, there so gooooddd
Trucks have different wheelbases too which also effects your skating pretty dramatically. Indys are a very tall truck but they have a shorter wheelbase to try and balance the pop feel and keep it from being too steep. Thunders are a pretty low truck but they have a wide wheelbase to give more pop. Wheelbase also effects manuals, and a wide wheelbase makes tricks like tre flips or lasers harder to get around.
i ride indys & overall they skate good, but they are a bit heavy
I’ve had indy Reynolds trucks for my whole time skating I’ve been skating for about 2 years I’m not sure what trucks I shuld get next help
I’ve actually heard some good things about krux. I haven’t tried them but I’ve heard some really good things about them.
1 you can smoke weed out of the hollows
2 the krux hole works decent as a bottle opener.
3 they grind shit
Venture are my favorite but my bushings cracked somehow, hasn’t impaired my skating but oh well
Dude, there are so many blank decks that are so good, almost every high end skate brand has a sister company that makes blanks
My opinion
Baker:average
Palace:average
Enjoi: trash
Element: legendary
Was riding thunders and now I got indys and I have mix feelings on indys ‘cause they tall asfffff
