Quarter-Mile Burpee WOD. If even a half-mile sounds like too much, cut the WOD down to a quarter-mile of burpees. Even 400 meters of burpees is an impressive feat! For intermediate athletes, this scaled version of the Burpee Mile WOD takes approximately 30 minutes.
The second WOD has burpees in the middle. You could do them a little faster than in the first WOD, but it all depends on how hard can you push on wall balls. You don’t need to speed up on burpees if you can do last 30 wall balls unbroken. The last WOD ends with burpees.

Those aren’t burpees, that’s just falling on the floor and getting back up
Typical crossfit burpee with bad form.
With feet a bit wider apart than shoulders, initiate burpee from standing position
then move down into a low squat and hands between your feet.
Keeping elbows tucked in, kick feet back keeping the same width apart
keep a plank to do one push up (chest touching the floor and elbows tucked in)
step out (as shown in this video) or bring both feet simultaneously back to low squat position making sure you land on flat feet
raise from low squat position for a jump with or without arms raised above your head
The other day I was trying to do some burpees and i couldn’t land my feet in the correct spot with one single movement and it was very frustrating, after watching this vid I feel better to know it’s okay place my feet in two movements, at least as a beginner.

Update: As of CrossFit Open 2018, this burpee technique is no longer the standard as it is now required to jump your feet back up and not step up. Still a great tip though if you’re doing “scaled”.
Hey Craig! Awesome vid as always! Just a little thing: the bar facing burpee technique is good but pay attention when you jump over the bar. To be a valid rep you have to jump with both feet at the same time, and I noticed that during the WOD sometimes you jumped with one foot before the other one. Keep up the good work dude! #partoftheteam
A Burpee with one pushup and no Jump is a 1 Pump, 2 Pushups is a 2 Pump, 3 pushups 3 Pump. And a Navy Seal Burpee. And the hipster Burpee with a Jump.

You’re fitter than me chap. I suck at burpees; find them really hard. I always struggle to smoothly get back to my feet after lying flat. You do these so fast!

lol i know that sucked XD the military specialty i wish to take up requires 41 burpees in 1.5mins XD(pretty sure they ment 2mins ),75 pushups under 2mins,
85 sit ups under 2mins,20 pull ups it wont be timed,A 1.5 mile run in 10 minutes,tread water for 3mins,A 330m swim,and a 25ft dive…….jesus i got alot of work to do im no where close this outta be fun oh well XD

This is what proper burpees look like (minus the last one). Rather see 1 good session like this than a 5 min clip on ‘proper’ form without proper demonstration. It’s nice to show 1 or 2 burps, but not easy to demonstrate a 50 b challenge.

If you want to improve your burpees you need to learn the counts. or else you will keep struggling. watch my channel for authentic burpees..
I have been doing 50 burpees a day for 50 days, and I know how hard that is. My best is 159 and I felt like crap. Great job.

This is way sloppier than a real burpee and it’s a great way too get hurt. Arms are waaaaaay too wide.

Just FYI so I’m straight with all of you. My original plan was to do 100 burpees in under 4 minutes. I don’t train burpees in my workouts and mid challenge I learned the hard way you have to put in some serious training to reach that goal. This was a stepping stone towards that goal, I have a long ways to go, but it’s all about improving each day. Get after it my friends!
@brianteoh11 This is actually very poor training. It could be considered a test of my training, and again, a poor test at that. I didn’t like the lose standards in the other Burpee Mile videos so I did my own.

They are harder with press up phase done by tucking elbows in and reaching high at the top of the jump phase with both hands.

yea good luck jumping 7 ft the whole way, my old platoon used to do this like once a month and the best time i got was 1 hour and 47 min and by the end i was jumping like 3 ft. But i recommend for anyone who wants a challenge.
