Walmart sells sweetened condensed coconut milk in 14 oz. cans….if one doesn’t mind the insanity of the shopping weirdness in there currently. Baking aisle, at least here in MO.
As with most vegan ice creams, this looks like it goes from solid to liquid real fast, without the soft phase in between, and it also looks kinda grainy and crystallized. It also looks extremely sweet. I’m sure it’s not bad, but it could be better.

I used cream instead of milk made it more creamy. I recommend switching the coconut oil and coco butter to butter it has a way better flavour the coconut and coco butter

I know I’m late with this comment, but I’m allergic to coconut and pretty much all of the dairy free recipes seem to use coconut. It is in so much! It also seems to be a fairly rare allergy, at least here (UK).

Even faster method:
Vegan ice cream in 2 hours
1 can of Cream of coconut, chilled
Any flavoring
Any throw ins
Whip cream of coconut with a mixer
Add in flavoring and whip again
Add mix ins
Place in freezer safe container and put film wrap against the ice cream
Put a lid on if you want or just leave with film wrap
Freeze 2 hours
EAT!

Easier Recipe:
Ingredients-
600 ml Coconut Cream
1 tin vegan condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean
Method:
1. Add the coconut cream in a chilled bowl under an ice bed (a larger bowl with ice).
2. Whip up the coconut cream until light and fluffy with a hand mixer or whisk.
3. Add in the vegan condensed milk, mix well with a spatula.
4. Add in the vanilla extract or any other flavouring of your choice and mix. (exmango, chocolate etc.,)
5. Chill in the freezer overnight or for 8 hours.
6. SERVE AND ENJOY ☺️.
So last night i put a can of coconut milk and 2/3 c sugar and simmered it for about 45min and it turned out white and not like a caramel texture,

First put the coconut milk in the fridge a while and scoop off cream or turn can upside down and scoop the settled cream and leave the water for another recipe or just drink, that may be why others recipes aren’t working. It’s ice CREAM, not milk cream and all coconut milk is not equal so lose the water and should work better. I use THAI brand so not diluted and can probably use the entire contents…ijs

If you do not have a churn, you could kinda resemble the texture by puting the mixture in the freezer and whisk it throughly every 30 min, it is not as soft as churning it but it will be definitely creamier than letting it freeze directly

i took of the lid and saw that the texture was perfact but there was caramel on the side so i scraped the sides n decided to run the food processor for few seconds

You know if you’re allergic to nuts, this whole vegan ideas won’t really work since most vegan’s food have nuts base:/

Rather than the two cans of coconut milk which you are left with without the cream part of it why wouldn’t you simply use a can of coconut cream or whip up a package of the cream? Then you are not left with two cans of liquid that you then have to deal wth.
This is my favorite ice cream ever because of no dairy ( milk, condense milk and cream), but still has same consisty and healthier for me. Please, can you add the link of where to buy the “chocolate lover” that you used one of the recipes. Thank you very much.
That’s Great! And that’s why I came here, finally found a dairy free, sugar free (if you don’t add any) and gluten free option! And it’s possible to add more flavors for those on a keto, i.e.: put berries, like strawberries, which are available most of times, cheap. We can also add a few melted chocolate 85% cocoa in other versions. Also found out coconut oil can substitute cocoa butter, cheaper. And about vanilla bean (so expensive in some regions), it can be optional, I think… But, wow! We can eat ice-cream again So Grateful
P.S.: Could you only be civilized and RESPECT other ppl lives? Some beings live in a restriction mode, not by choice. Deal with it. Or.. go to a ZOO. You can’t live in a society.

I suggest next time you use 100% vanilla flavoring rather than one that says ‘artificial’ flavoring with 10% vanilla extract. Lol
I am highly allergic to milk(not diagnosed but my throat gets itchy and tight and I cant stop coughing and severe digestive distress) but it’s perfectly okay though because I went vegan ❤️

When you were pouring almond milk did not mention it, in the ingredients, so had to rewind many a times to check whether u have mentioned, finally had to forward, it was quite irritating, headache to see the video, ibe has to always check before releasing, your pronunciations are not necessarily understood by all, so here instead of acting concentrate on clear words. There are many countries with different pronunciations, so it will be better put in writing clear words, hope you got my point
to avoid the sugar u could just use really ripe bananas or stevia…

I’ve started my hand at homemade vegan ice cream about 3 years now.
Overall, I would give myself a grade of 70-75% out of 100% on ice cream making skill level.
Just when It seemed like I “perfected” the recipe, things started going south on me and I’ve spent the last 6 months or so trying to figure it out-hence th 70-75% grade.
While I’m trying to figure it out, I still keep an eye open for new or fresh ways for making vegan ice cream.
The method that you reveal in this video causes me to ask you a couple of questions:
1) Doesn’t all of your ice cream taste like coconut regardless of what flavors you use?
2) How in the world do you get your coconut milk to cream like THAT on the top??
The reason I don’t do coconut based ice creams recipes-I do soy milk-is because whenever I made coconut based ice creams, they always tasted like conut regardless of the flavor and whenever I refrigerated my coconut milk or cream, it never gets thick on top as the Youtube videos, LOL!
Anyway, I took the time to write all of this to you because I looking to see if there is new or fresh info on this topic that I haven’t already heard before.

Well, give this a try today but remain liquid not creamy like in the video…disappointing cause I have high hope for this. I did everything and even churn it in Kitchen Aid ice cream maker(been frozen for 2 days). According to Kitchen Aid instruction, the cream suppose to turn into ice cream after 5 minutes of churning but since this in not your typical ice cream recipe, I let it churn on “stir” setting for an hour and its still liquid…so I just pour it into a glass bowl and leave it in the freezer. The only thing I didn’t do from direction is to let the cream sit in freezer for an hour before churning but since my Kitchen Aid ice cream maker was already frozen, I didn’t think that would matter…well, since it didn’t work, maybe it does matter…who knows.

hey guys! i would recommend using organic bananas since other bananas are sprayed with something made from shrimp and crab to make bananas not turn brown and last longer ❤️ god bless
Cocoa butter isn’t from coconut, therefore NO coconut flavor.
I like frozen banana ice cream if you like more fat add nuts cashews make it creamy! We use a champion juicer with the blanker also can add frozen fruit! Also I think it’s better for you and delicious!

I just want to let people know that cashew production is very harmful to the workers who process them. They produce an acid that irritates and harms the skin and eyes or the workers who are not given the proper PPE.
I just want to make sure people do their research before consuming foods that may be harmful!
I usually mix frozen bananas with a few tablespoons of coconut milk non dairy creamer. Then I flavor with either cookies or natural chocolate syrup and it’s pretty bomb too.

Recipe works great but any ice cream that doesnt have other strong flavors will have a slight chocolatey flavor from the Cacao Butter
do you plan on trying more flavors? & the salt is supposed to enhance the flavor
