Score: The goal of Angie is to perform 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 100 bodyweight squats for time. Your reaaally good but hard on yourself, too. Doing very well.:-) The music suits this workout!:-))
I cant seem to find what a fast time is on this WOD. I happen to be really good at bodyweight exercises. I completed this today (with strict pullups instead of kipping) in 7:10, then ran a to the treadmill and completed a1 mile run for a total time of 13:26. I’m in very good shape but have never competed or even trained at a box.
The dog cracks me up. Mine watch and usually get in the way, the animal is wondering why.
FOR ALL YOU CROSS-FIT HATERS!!! I have been doing bodybuilding for sometime. All I have to say is try it. Even with the “sloppy” pull ups as you say. lol Just do it once giving it all you got. Bit of advice, have something close for when you vomit everywhere.
The dog is all up in his grizzle when doing push ups! My dog does the same. LOL
Far and away one of the greatest athletes I have ever had the honor of watching. My entire unit is obsessed with your workouts and all your videos. #tip of the cap by a bunch of navy seals
Agreed. It’s funny, those “sloppy” pull ups actually take practice to master and use a specific form different from strict. Both ways are great, but kipping isn’t sloppy, it’s just different. Why don’t people see that?
Okay, I’ve been a gym rat for 40 years. I think crossfit is a good idea. I don’t understand the utter lack of discipline on some of the exercises and I ask why not? This cheating on pullups and things is crap and the reason it’s crap is that on my last birthday, when I turned 64 I did 57 nonstop pullups, no kipping and no kidding. Okay, so they were underhanded grips, but so? On that birthday, I skipped pushups and did bar dips, full bar dips. My goal was 64. I did 70. When I turned 58 I did 100 consecutive fingertip pushups and 50 underhand pullups…yes, they are easier than overhands. Consecutive=nonstop=no rest. I’m off to the gym shortly to try Angie. I will reserve comment on the remainder of the two exercises in Angie until after I test myself. I don’t do traditional sit ups, so that will be interesting. Instead, I do a variety of crunches, yoga boat poses, dragon flags, a couple sets of L pullups and leg ups either hanging from a bar or from the top of dip, never allowing my legs to go lower than 45 degrees to avoid swinging. Not at all concerned about the squats. Maybe Angie will humble me.
Love Birds Central sent me! Great training! I subscribed and like 10. I stay active in comments:)
I have yet to see a crossfitter perform one actual rep of a pull up.
That’s one of the problems with timed exercise, you get desperately poor form. And yes I know the difference between a kip and a pull up, but even regular pull ups performed by crossfit looks more like a kip than anything I’ve ever done. It defeats the purpose of the pull up completely. That’s not even remotely a back exercise. On top of that, it’s a great way to injure your shoulders, jerking around like that. He may need them for another 30 or 40 years after he’s done with crossfit. I’ve never been able to break 30 reps of perfectly controlled 2 arm chins, and 2 reps one handed with my stronger left arm. Admitedly the one handers were less than pretty but I weighed near 210 at the time.
I wonder how many they could do properly.
Yep. we must kill the bad fat and belly first to get the 6 pack.Between I heard that most of the celebrities used to follow to kill their belly using this 7 food items.worth watch here now bit.ly/1a2CrOJ?=lpzkt
Yes i mean it. even i was very sad since i workout well for abs but nothing was coming. btw!but ye I saw an interview with body building champion where he talks about 7 odd foods he eats to keep his abs hard. i found it here bit.ly/16NYpRy?=znsdw
Spealler is da man.. I been crossfitting for 3 months and love it… And to all the nay sayers i brought my cousin to crossfit with me one saturday and hes a lightweight bodybuilding champ.. He did “Fran” 95lbs (Rx) and he almost died!!! Lol so until u try it u should prob shutup
those pull ups are hard i used to do mine slow with a hold now im cross training, when speal did 100 “sloppy” pull ups it was still an amazing feat good luck to anyone who thinks its easier that way, I shall await your response video
ROFLMAO… You just made my day. I would love to see you attempt Angie. Actually, it would be great if I could do it beside you… that would REALLY make my day.
Hahah, yeah i feel you man, been doing crossfit for about 2 months now. Came from bodybuilding. Never thrown up in so many consecutive sessions before!
I wish I had this advice the first time I started. Didn’t make it to the trash in time
Those really weren’t good form pull ups. Work on your pushups (should be possible in one or two sets at your fitnes level). Wear different shoes for the squats running shoes will cause you to put weight on your toes, which you should def. not do!
Alguien puede decirme como se llama el tema musical y de quien es?
They are specifically called “kipping pull ups”. It is obvious they are different from “strict”. It actually takes some technique to get it down and for me it really does not feel the same as strict. And yes, you can do more in less time, no sh*t his time would be longer.
Oh please! Those “pullups” were embarrassing don’t be a baby and do them properly!
Pull up = back straight, shoulders down, elbows out, up and down. That’s 1 Rep. WTF were those??
how anybody can call them pullups is beyond me..state of me…try proper ones and c ur time
Love Bird Central sent me I subbed ya and turned on notification
Austin, you are a machine! Added your video as a demo on our “ANGIE” WOD page: https://wodwell.com/wod/angie/
My way hit each exercise with 25 reps for 2 sets. Then each set do each exercise 10 reps
@MrTaylorreaves
It would probably exceed the time limit if he didn’t.
Okay…. I did Angie in 13 mins and 20 seconds including the 40 seconds to get to a reasonable spot in the gym to do the last three things. The pullups humbled me in part because a couple members of the feather patrol (muscular guys who life light weights) were bogarting the better pullup spots. Without kipping it took me about 3 minutes to do the pullups, half underhand, half overhand…okay, I know, but give me a break, I’ll be eligible for medicare in ten months. The pushups were pretty easy…did 70 without stopping the balance in two parts. Sit ups were about the same. Squats….darn….thought I could run the table with those, but stopped for about ten secs at 85. All considered, not bad for a dinosaur. Props to you young’ns who came up with this. I’ll keep on it until I can beat the time on this youtube…for sure by the end of August….
Good vid, I think the labrador could do with some crossfit training though, even when sped up he moves in slow motion.
@Kaeltor yeah bc after 100 pullups he shouldn’t be tired at all
Killed it!!! You’re looking incredibly lean. You can really see it when you’re doing those push-ups.
The guy on the right did not do one single pull up. The guy on the left was questionable as well. COME ON GUYS! If you’re gonna do Crossfit…do it right!
HUGE RESPECT…..
Hello to all CROSSFITERS all over the planet…
CROSSFIR RULES….
I like the music choice! Double speed the repetitious, single speed breaks, half speed no-reps and hand signals…:P
It would better, if you pressed your feets together during your sit-ups.
