Good video, but Dr. Oz’s on stage models of how things work (inflammation, obesity, etc) are so dumbed down. It’s as if he thinks his audience have the mental capacity of a 5 year old

Tart Cherry Extract is a source of antioxidants that helps fight the cell-damaging effects of free radicals.
Never heard about tart cherry juice, can someone explain what it is, please?
Yeah, I’ve tried tart cherries in the past, and they do seem to work with healing, anti-inflammation, and regular sleeping patterns. I ate the dried type. Then I switched over to lightly boiled broccoli, various types of oranges and mandarin oranges, and random fruits. I should get back to snacking on dried tart cherries.
I can’t drink it straight because it is too tart for me. I do a 50/50 water to juice and it is drinkable for me.
Coach Elizabeth, great video! My primary interest in the tart cherry juice is for better sleep. I’m 73 and certainly not a runner however, I do play golf and tennis. I understand at night 1 ounce 1 hour before bed. Is there any benefit taking 1 ounce before golf or tennis (mornings)? Thank you!! Norm W.
So what would be the downside to drinking tart cherry juice during my summer mileage training?? I’m at 60 miles per week and peaking at 70 late August.. should I not drink it until races come around?
I drank a whole bunch yesterday for my joints. I feel incredible today. My knees have been bugging me for the last two weeks (I’m a hairdresser) and now it doesn’t hurt to bend down. Thank god.

You’ve just lost a follower. Sorry, but I happen to be a chemist and am so tired of YouTube channels taking their viewers for a ride. DO YOU HAVE ANY EVIDENCE FOR YOUR CLAIMS??????
I love cherries! Cherries are in season now at the local markets, which makes me happy as a runner with muscle pains. Thank you so much for sharing, coach Elizabeth!
Funny thing is, that in the last fifty years, I’ve heard about and used a lot of “whats new and revolutionary and a miracle” supplements and foods.
Give it some time, and a new “miracle” appears and the old one is forgotten.
Only a few stands the test of decades of use and stays in use.
In ten years, do you stil go for the cherry’s?
Eat natural foods like almonds, cherries, apples, brocoli, fish, drink water and camomile the and avoid anything in a can or otherwise from mass fabrication.
I swear by Tart Cherry Juice as my recovery drink after a long run.
Could you please link to some really serious scientific studys that back the claims in this video? Preferably sizeable double blind studies ruling out placebo effects etc.
Can I use for my marathon training? You made it sound like you could take it before a race.
Partly WRONGIf your diabetic, 99% if not ALL Tart Cherry Juice is LOADED WITH SURGAR!! BEWARE!!!!
Non-alcoholic beer drank before and after marathon also reduces inflammation and lowers uti risk. NAB contains polyphenols as does TCJ.
Also it has been shown that while TCJ may improve sleep (does not cure insomnia) in older adults it’s affect is probably not greater than melatonin.
Would the tart cherry capsules be a better option than the juice itself?

Thank you Couch E… Not sure I understand all of this, but….. If one is about to begin (next week) a marathon training plan, one should NOT take Tart Cherry Juice each day during the train period EXCEPT 7 days prior to the marathon?

Hello Coach Elizabeth, this is really ironic, after your last video about Tart cherry juice I have been looking out for it ad couldn’t find it any where in the UK. Last week I found a cherry juice in a health food store that I go to, I was going to asked you about it after watching the video and then realised when you said Montmorency cherry juice and realised that is what you were talking about on here. Plus since I have been using it since last Sunday, that’s a great build up to a race I have this Sunday. So again thank you for another great tip.
Bravo!! This is the most thorough and informative video!! Thank you! ❤️♀️☀️
What about Maraschino Cherries? I’m sure it has most health benefits.
