The intense burst of energy used up in HIIT workouts increases the body’s production of chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and adrenaline. Mental disturbances and illnesses like depression and schizophrenia have been linked to a deficiency of dopamine and serotonin in the body.Boosts metabolism – The American College of Sports and Medicine said that High Intensity Interval Training helps you consume more oxygen than a non-interval workout routine. The excess amount of oxygen consumed helps increase your rate of metabolism from about 90 minutes to 144 minutes after a session of interval training. Not only will you use more energy and have a more efficient body, but you’ll feel LESS tired as you train.
In another study from the same year, it was discovered that both moderate and high-intensity bouts of exercise caused the same amount of perceived fatigue, but the high-intensity exercise yielded better results.HIIT or high-intensity interval training is a workout technique in which you give everything you’ve got during intense bursts of exercise, followed by short (sometimes active) recovery periods. It gets your heart rate up and keeps it there, burning more fat in less time.Blood sugar can be reduced by less than 12 weeks through HIIT.
50 different studies found that high intensity interval training (HIIT) reduces blood sugar and improves insulin resistance by continuous exercise. Based on this information, high intensity exercises are particularly beneficial for people at risk of type 2 diabetes.High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has been recognized as an alternative and more efficient protocol than moderate-intensity continuous training (MCT), which is the gold standard recommended in several guidelines[6-8].

Don’t do it if your old. It’s a young man’s thing. Unless you want a heart attack. Common sense really.
Watched this Christmas day. I find your insights fantastic. Nothing dogmatic but everything is informative with a highly entertaining edge. I’m gonna share your stuff a lot. Wanna see this become a multi million sub channel one day.
200 burpees per day, wow,… am staring 100 burpee with 100 push ups per day… wish me luck
Just came across your channel. First the Burpees videos and now this. Such solid content.
“hell yeah bro, just like rice cakes bro” bill and ted 349, chase barron edition
Man, I been doing high intensity workouts for about 4 years by now, and it’s great!!! Combined with some gym lifting.
Amazing production and content btw, you got yourself a new follower over here.
Greets from Mexico City, Let’s Go HAM!!!
As a German Biochemist Ph D it is about the Anaerobic Part that triggers ATP Production and fast response. Motivation is based on ATP and fast action. HIIT is the best way to fast develop ATP and instant action. With sugar you kill the pain and yourself…
Entertaining & informative video! I really hope your channel blow up!!
Great videoInformative without selling me on a product or workout
VO2 max is great…but is it useful for anyone besides those olympic-level athletes who do their work in that zone?
I watched this before the holidays, so Merry Christmas to You! Nice videos btw. You are like a Baron of the internet. I may just chase you into 2020.
You sound like that guy who would narrate a Netflix documentary on stock market…
Hey chase make a video on calisthenics.
Btw great video
Fan from INDIA
Great video! So informative! I always hated HIIT because of the low recovery time. I was never able to give my 100%! I’m excited to try your approach keep going! Really enjoying your videos
I like your attitude. they’re all options, not rules. And chill.
Your jokes here and there in the video are so funny haha, loving your videos! Love and support from Seoul
The next time can you do the differences you gain or lose in actual strength when you do your workouts? You can look like a million bucks but be weak as a kitten. I learned that the hard way when I used to work out with the machines.
at 11:11 i went to bed…just came back today to watch the rest because there’s more!
amazing info but talking of “options” can you give us the option to sack the annoying (and pointless) background music off???? Please:-)
Hey Chase. Enjoyed the high quality vids.. I literally just found your channel, and subbed after watching this and the burpee video! I have a question. Does HIIT absolutely require quick and dirty.. carbs?
If I was on a low carb diet could I still do (HI)IT? or would results just drop due to fatigue and poor performance?
Shouldn’t this guy look in shape or have muscles… he looks like a defunct gay boy band member. Stop. Peace.
This video is amazing! So much good information. It may have just changed the course of my life. I’ll keep you updated. Down to earth and funny. I love that you reiterate that there are many options. I just shared with a bunch of friends and family. Thanks!! I look forward to much more and my new fitness adventure.
These videos (have watched this one and the burpee one so far) are fantastic
I’m at the very start of my journey just two months in and loving it
Your videos are so well presented they make me watch listen and learn.
Soooo good thank you!
Reppin’ 412. Saw the skyline from Mt Washington. Also, getting on my burpees this new year.
I liked a lot this video! I allways shift the ten seconds to get to the important parts in every video but I didn’t this time! 😉 thats because you are great congrats
If I don’t get the same results as you did after 30 days of 100 burpees, I’m unsubscribing
these videos are so good man, congrats!! Gonna start incorporating some burpees as HIIT (never done ONE in my whole life)
keep at it, great stuff!
I got here from the Burpee video, how I got there? IDFUCKINGK but I like your videos!
I came into this video thinking, “Oh yeah, I know what HIIT is.” But damn, you are awesome, Chase!
I’m loving your edutainment, with real research and real effort to back it all up, while mixed with some of your own take on life. Keep up the great work man, and thanks so much for the video!
you seem like a good dude. and you’re sharing really thoughtful, interesting content. but is the room you’re in that cold that you need a giant woolly knit cap?
I learned a lot from your video, thank you! Everyone else seems to say go as hard as you can for some set time and then take a shorter rest. You’re the first person I’ve seen talk about resting entirely for however long it takes to go 100% on your next round.
Alright man, I am breaking my pattern of online anonymity to say that I appreciate your content and the attitude with which you deliver it. I look forward to hearing more from you and I may just join the conversation over on Patreon to help motivate me to make changes in my own life HAM style.
Wow! I’ve been working out for about 2 weeks now, some of it HIIT, which I HATED because I read an article that said to do 30 seconds followed by 60 seconds rest. I never recovered and it sucked! I’m psyched to try it again, but with a full recovery THANKS!
Hi, just wanna say I reeeeeally like your videos and I am learning a lot
Show those armpits!! So cool!
Great video. HIIT is the bomb!! Exercise during fasted state burns more fat. 😉
My favorite workouts (and the only ones I stick to) are fun ones. Like rock climbing, biking/running up Mt. Washington when I lived in PGH, any kind of sport, etc.
Great artist!!! Respect for the unique videos you are creating. Thanks for the advices
I should’ve learned this before forcing my whole body to do this a whole week with little amount of rest, I can barely feel my body now.
Him: Quick and dirty workouts require quick and dirty energy.
Me: Cocain?
Thank you thank you so much for this video, Chase. It’s great. I am also seeing the benefits of doing HIIT workout. And after your video, I want to add it once a week to my weekly routine.
Hmm… It’s good all the researching & development you’ve done with these videos, while you get some profit via Patreons and Youtube rating. I’m able to gather alternative information from you, but… There’s too much extra info. you put into (entertaining purposes, and that’s not bad for scientific disclosure statements). I think you have the potential to go beyond this point.
Awesome video as always…..
I just dig the way you present stuff, and the content too!
Merry Christmas!!
Your videos are very educating and enjoyable! I’m subscribing before you become a top Youtuber.
Video quality is….
Appreciate the time and effort you put into your vids, 2020 is your year to blow up. Keep going Chase!
