In LOVE with your bookshelf background! So many books I’m jealous ❤️
I really like when the Booktubers reach some kind of consensus opinion on great new reads it makes things much easier for me if I see one. I don’t feel as if I’m risking anything if three reviewers gave it four-plus stars. Thx

My favourite book of the year so far is probably Thorn. It’s a retelling of the goose girl. Holy moly did I go through a rollercoaster of emotions with this book! So freaking good!
I am waiting for A Pinch of Magic to come out for Kindle can’t wait to read it
I just lost my dog so that is why I listen to it it is hard to leave your pet behide
House of earth and blood has been my first Sarah J. Maas book and I loved it sooo much. I struggled for the first 150 pages because it was too info-dumpy but then got sucked into the story and I couldn’t put it down. I am very curious about reading Robin Hobb but I don’t know if I can commit to that many books right now.
The term for standalone series is “interlocking standalones”!!
I’ve read 95 books this year and a lot of them were recs from your channel so thank you for that:) my favorites are we are the ants, autoboyography, this is how it always is, someday someday, birthday and a little life:)!
The LG Gram has a newer version that comes with 10 gen intel and the newer iris plus graphics
House of Earth & Blood was so good!!! The evidence is that it was my first ever Sarah J Maas book and then after finishing it I read every single Maas book in 2 months because i loved it so much and just needed more from her!
This looks like a great list. I read A Pinch of Magic, based on your recommendation. My book club will be reading Kingdom of Souls next month, again, based on your glowing recommendation. I will by buying Witches of Ash and Ruin because Celtic mythology, LGBTQ representation, and witches. YAS! So thankful for your recs. Keep ’em coming.
Loved this list! For House of Earth and Blood I totally agree, I wish I hadn’t read the synopsis
I’m just starting my booktube journey, if anyone is interested in my June wrap up.. here it is @rpVM
Same for House of Earth and Blood, I SHOULDN’T have read the synopsis!! Still I loved it, it was an amazing book and can’t wait to read the next one
I love your channel sooo much!❤️❤️. I would love more bookish videos in the future!❤️

Assassin’s Apprentice! Yes! I’m so glad you loved it!
I keep hearing so many good things about Fortuna Sworn…I might have to look into that one sometime.
I really need to check out All Boys Aren’t Blue too.
Really enjoyed hearing about these Ashleigh and I hope you find a lot of other books to love as the rest of the year goes on!
I only knew that House of Earth and Blood was going to be in the video. I’m kind of interested on reading Catwoman: Soulstealer by SJM at one point.

It’s nice to see you talking about books again as I subscribed to your book channel in the first place. So you came full circle! I am currently reading A little Life by Hanya Yanagihara (because of Kat of paperbackdreams). If you’re not into sad books it is NOT for you, cause it’s a really devasting story, but so beautifully written and told!!
If you are lonely, depressed and sad
Then feel and fell down in this music and start everything from 0..

Me *breathlessly pushing aside a stack of books*: Wait! But I have time! Never stop talking about books!!
It’s so nice to read kind, uplifting, and inspiring messages by people from all walks of life, whilst listening to this beautiful music. Thank you Peder B. Helland. Throughout “Our Journey” we all must go through our own trials and tribulations, just as Christ has suffered for us. Know that you are never alone. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
We are all different. But this music it brings us together. God bless you all †††
This comment section is so cute, emotional, and awesome. You people are awesome <3 The world needs people like you in it. God bless you all!! Remember to drink lots of water and eat enough. When this is all over I'm sure we will all be grateful for all that's happened. We will get something AMAZING out of this, please. Please stay positive. Please dont think negative. And please. Please always remember you are NOT alone.

I’ve been looking through these comments for a while and I’ve just been blown away by the amount of positivity and love that’s being spread, and I want to try and contribute to that. So, hey you there. Yes you, wonderful person reading this comment, it’s going to be ok. I have no way to know what kind of situation your in, but I do know that you will be able to get through. Even if you just wanted to listen to this song as a way to relax or for background sound as you did something else, everything will be fine. If your drawing, or making any kind of art, just take a minute and appreciate it. Just take a moment to stretch, or grab some water. You deserve it! You deserve to relax, you deserve to be happy! So please, take care of yourself! I love you! And have a wonderful day!

If the world was this music……we wouldn’t have any fighting and would be living in peace and harmony.
I used to listen to this music, me and my dog in my bedroom when we take a nap in the afternoon. Now when I put this on when I take a nap, it makes me remember my dog, and make me cry and sad, cuz she’s not here anymore. But it still put me to sleep when i take a nap in the afternoon.
For me personally, “It ends with us” by Colleen Hoover is the best book I’ve read so far. Go and read it, it’s the best!!!
I just finished “Bunny” yesterday and what the hell!!
The book is so strange and weird in an amazing way.. I don’t know what to say about it actually except that it is the weirdest book I have ever read.
All of these books are on my tbr I hope I can get to them eventually by the end of the year. Btw your videos are so much fun keep going ❤️
“Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They’re either lonely, they’re missing somebody, they’re depressed, they’re hurt, they’re scarred from the past, they’re having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn’t believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I’m writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don’t be depressed about the past, don’t worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today’s not so great don’t worry! Tomorrow’s a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!”:) SHARE THIS AROUND

When I listened to this music while looking at the beautiful pictures..I felt so calm.I really want to go to that place alone. I want to rest from a life full of sadness, pain, anxiety, drama, etc..But it is very impossible for me to go to such a place. However I still hope I will get there through in my dream..

Aristotle (/ˈærɪstɒtəl/;[3] Greek: Ἀριστοτέλης Aristotélēs, pronounced [aristotélɛːs]; 384–322 BC) was a Greek philosopher and polymath during the Classical period in Ancient Greece. Taught by Plato, he was the founder of the Lyceum, the Peripatetic school of philosophy, and the Aristotelian tradition. His writings cover many subjects including physics, biology, zoology, metaphysics, logic, ethics, aesthetics, poetry, theatre, music, rhetoric, psychology, linguistics, economics, politics, and government. Aristotle provided a complex synthesis of the various philosophies existing prior to him. It was above all from his teachings that the West inherited its intellectual lexicon, as well as problems and methods of inquiry. As a result, his philosophy has exerted a unique influence on almost every form of knowledge in the West and it continues to be a subject of contemporary philosophical discussion.
Little is known about his life. Aristotle was born in the city of Stagira in Northern Greece. His father, Nicomachus, died when Aristotle was a child, and he was brought up by a guardian. At seventeen or eighteen years of age he joined Plato’s Academy in Athens and remained there until the age of thirty-seven (c. 347 BC).[4] Shortly after Plato died, Aristotle left Athens and, at the request of Philip II of Macedon, tutored Alexander the Great beginning in 343 BC.[5] He established a library in the Lyceum which helped him to produce many of his hundreds of books on papyrus scrolls. Though Aristotle wrote many elegant treatises and dialogues for publication, only around a third of his original output has survived, none of it intended for publication.[6]
Aristotle’s views on physical science profoundly shaped medieval scholarship. Their influence extended from Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages into the Renaissance, and were not replaced systematically until the Enlightenment and theories such as classical mechanics were developed. Some of Aristotle’s zoological observations found in his biology, such as on the hectocotyl (reproductive) arm of the octopus, were disbelieved until the 19th century. His works contain the earliest known formal study of logic, studied by medieval scholars such as Peter Abelard and John Buridan. Aristotle’s influence on logic also continued well into the 19th century.
He influenced Islamic thought during the Middle Ages, as well as Christian theology, especially the Neoplatonism of the Early Church and the scholastic tradition of the Catholic Church. Aristotle was revered among medieval Muslim scholars as “The First Teacher” and among medieval Christians like Thomas Aquinas as simply “The Philosopher”. His ethics, though always influential, gained renewed interest with the modern advent of virtue ethics, such as in the thinking of Alasdair MacIntyre and Philippa Foot.

Hey you! Remember, never be discouraged in life! This music helps to take all of the negativity out of the world and to think of how thankful you are to be giving a great life. People don’t realize how lucky they are to have friends, family, food, water, pets and other loving things we are blessed to have! Always be yourself, never care about what other people think of you. Don’t do things which don’t make you comfortable and follow your heart forwards, not back in the past or the future. May you be blessed to live a happy life and stay safe all of you! God bless you and keep you happy:) Good night. These wonderful comments made me want to make one myself

Penguin Books»[1].

Have you read beyond the darkened shore? It’s based on celtic mythology and is fab!
XPS 13 and 15 are having major battery problems. The battery is under the track pad and swells pushing the track pad up causing it to be unusable. I can’t find anything on that happening with the XPS 17. But is seems to use the same battery. This swelling is happening about the one year mark. Only solution I can see is get a new battery every 10 months. But Dell is having so many battery issues they are sending out refurbished batteries. Look at the Asus and Lenovo.
Based on your previous recommendation, I read the series by Lauren Layne and loved it! Thanks for such videos!

All living things were traditionally placed into one of two groups, plants and animals. This classification may date from Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC), who made the distinction between plants, which generally do not move, and animals, which often are mobile to catch their food. Much later, when Linnaeus (1707–1778) created the basis of the modern system of scientific classification, these two groups became the kingdoms Vegetabilia (later Metaphyta or Plantae) and Animalia (also called Metazoa). Since then, it has become clear that the plant kingdom as originally defined included several unrelated groups, and the fungi and several groups of algae were removed to new kingdoms. However, these organisms are still often considered plants, particularly in popular contexts.[citation needed]
The term “plant” generally implies the possession of the following traits: multicellularity, possession of cell walls containing cellulose, and the ability to carry out photosynthesis with primary chloroplasts.[7][8]
Current definitions of Plantae
When the name Plantae or plant is applied to a specific group of organisms or taxon, it usually refers to one of four concepts. From least to most inclusive, these four groupings are:
Name(s) Scope Description
Land plants, also known as Embryophyta Plantae sensu strictissimo Plants in the strictest sense include the liverworts, hornworts, mosses, and vascular plants, as well as fossil plants similar to these surviving groups (e.g., Metaphyta Whittaker, 1969,[9] Plantae Margulis, 1971[10]).
Green plants, also known as Viridiplantae, Viridiphyta, Chlorobionta or Chloroplastida Plantae sensu stricto Plants in a strict sense include the green algae, and land plants that emerged within them, including stoneworts. The relationships between plant groups are still being worked out, and the names given to them vary considerably. The clade Viridiplantae encompasses a group of organisms that have cellulose in their cell walls, possess chlorophylls a and b and have plastids bound by only two membranes that are capable of photosynthesis and of storing starch. This clade is the main subject of this article (e.g., Plantae Copeland, 1956[11]).
Archaeplastida, also known as Plastida or Primoplantae Plantae sensu lato Plants in a broad sense comprise the green plants listed above plus the red algae (Rhodophyta) and the glaucophyte algae (Glaucophyta) that store Floridean starch outside the plastids, in the cytoplasm. This clade includes all of the organisms that eons ago acquired their primary chloroplasts directly by engulfing cyanobacteria (e.g., Plantae Cavalier-Smith, 1981[12]).
Old definitions of plant (obsolete) Plantae sensu amplo Plants in the widest sense refers to older, obsolete classifications that placed diverse algae, fungi or bacteria in Plantae (e.g., Plantae or Vegetabilia Linnaeus,[13] Plantae Haeckel 1866,[14] Metaphyta Haeckel, 1894,[15] Plantae Whittaker, 1969[9]).
Another way of looking at the relationships between the different groups that have been called “plants” is through a cladogram, which shows their evolutionary relationships. These are not yet completely settled, but one accepted relationship between the three groups described above is shown below[clarification needed].[16][17][18][19][20][21][22] Those which have been called “plants” are in bold (some minor groups have been omitted).
Archaeplastida + cryptista
Rhodophyta (red algae)
Rhodelphidia (predatorial)
Picozoa
Glaucophyta (glaucophyte algae)
green plants
Mesostigmatophyceae
Chlorokybophyceae
Spirotaenia
Chlorophyta
Streptophyta
Charales (stoneworts)
land plants or embryophytes
Cryptista
groups traditionally
called green algae
The way in which the groups of green algae are combined and named varies considerably between authors.
Algae
Green algae from Ernst Haeckel’s Kunstformen der Natur, 1904.
Main article: Algae
Algae comprise several different groups of organisms which produce food by photosynthesis and thus have traditionally been included in the plant kingdom. The seaweeds range from large multicellular algae to single-celled organisms and are classified into three groups, the green algae, red algae and brown algae. There is good evidence that the brown algae evolved independently from the others, from non-photosynthetic ancestors that formed endosymbiotic relationships with red algae rather than from cyanobacteria, and they are no longer classified as plants as defined here.[23][24]
The Viridiplantae, the green plants – green algae and land plants – form a clade, a group consisting of all the descendants of a common ancestor. With a few exceptions, the green plants have the following features in common; primary chloroplasts derived from cyanobacteria containing chlorophylls a and b, cell walls containing cellulose, and food stores in the form of starch contained within the plastids. They undergo closed mitosis without centrioles, and typically have mitochondria with flat cristae. The chloroplasts of green plants are surrounded by two membranes, suggesting they originated directly from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria.
Two additional groups, the Rhodophyta (red algae) and Glaucophyta (glaucophyte algae), also have primary chloroplasts that appear to be derived directly from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria, although they differ from Viridiplantae in the pigments which are used in photosynthesis and so are different in colour. These groups also differ from green plants in that the storage polysaccharide is floridean starch and is stored in the cytoplasm rather than in the plastids. They appear to have had a common origin with Viridiplantae and the three groups form the clade Archaeplastida, whose name implies that their chloroplasts were derived from a single ancient endosymbiotic event. This is the broadest modern definition of the term ‘plant’.
In contrast, most other algae (e.g. brown algae/diatoms, haptophytes, dinoflagellates, and euglenids) not only have different pigments but also have chloroplasts with three or four surrounding membranes. They are not close relatives of the Archaeplastida, presumably having acquired chloroplasts separately from ingested or symbiotic green and red algae. They are thus not included in even the broadest modern definition of the plant kingdom, although they were in the past.
The green plants or Viridiplantae were traditionally divided into the green algae (including the stoneworts) and the land plants. However, it is now known that the land plants evolved from within a group of green algae, so that the green algae by themselves are a paraphyletic group, i.e. a group that excludes some of the descendants of a common ancestor. Paraphyletic groups are generally avoided in modern classifications, so that in recent treatments the Viridiplantae have been divided into two clades, the Chlorophyta and the Streptophyta (including the land plants and Charophyta).[25][26]
The Chlorophyta (a name that has also been used for all green algae) are the sister group to the Charophytes, from which the land plants evolved. There are about 4,300 species,[27] mainly unicellular or multicellular marine organisms such as the sea lettuce, Ulva.
The other group within the Viridiplantae are the mainly freshwater or terrestrial Streptophyta, which consists of the land plants together with the Charophyta, itself consisting of several groups of green algae such as the desmids and stoneworts. Streptophyte algae are either unicellular or form multicellular filaments, branched or unbranched.[26] The genus Spirogyra is a filamentous streptophyte alga familiar to many, as it is often used in teaching and is one of the organisms responsible for the algal “scum” on ponds. The freshwater stoneworts strongly resemble land plants and are believed to be their closest relatives.[citation needed] Growing immersed in fresh water, they consist of a central stalk with whorls of branchlets.

What Lies Between Us was a very disturbing book BUT I could not stop reading it. My Mother passed away about three years ago and all I could see was my Mother being held captive and how much that hurt my heart. I’m sure I could have killed someone who was mistreating my mother. Nevertheless, I got my “feels” under control, lol, and trudged ahead. I was so glad I finished this book. Authors get giant kudos from me who can think of shit like this to put down on paper. Five star read!!!
where is price comparison? Don’t you think it’s important aspect to consider when buying the laptop??

Mythopedia looks absolutely stunning! I had to pre-order it.
Loved the video, Alisha Rai and Farah Heron have some really good stuff to read!! Looking toward nonfiction. Erik Larson does some great historical stuff. And…..in the middle of Beach Read right now….and love it!!!
Would love to see more book content especially self help books written by women.

Do you have any other recommendations on law of attraction & manifestation that are more beginner level than super attractor? ❤
Thank you for some book recommendations! I’m so excited to read some of them.
The dream daughter is fantastic! I still think about the characters and I read it over a month ago.
The success part you mentioned really reminded me of me working incredible hard for great grades and then graduating with a really REALLY good GPA in my Bachelor’s degree and literally feeling nothing lmao
Going straight to your Goodreads account to add those romance books to my tbr section
Another great video! I really enjoy your book content as well as your bujo content, of course. But books are my passion so yeah! Thanks for these videos!
This is probably one of my favorite youtube videos ever made!
Got home from a long day at work and saw you posted a video, made my day ❤️❤️
Really enjoyed ‘Atomic Habits’ too. But I’ve gone the opposite way to you – I normally read a huge amount of non-fiction/self-help so am trying to read way more fiction this year.
It’s been sad lately only a week ago I lost my wife in a car accident and I turned this on and it made me think of her even more than before please pray for her
You should check out The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. Very similar to Atomic Habits but it takes things into a broader perspective (like there’s a chapter on target and Starbucks) and it’s fascinating!
If you are into fantasy I would definitely recommend the Six of crows duology!
i’m a slow and rather casual reader, so i’ve only made it to 22 books so far this year (and i only really got started on the actual reading part around mid-february). but my five faves so far would probably be:
Thomas Mann – Doctor Faustus,
Italo Calvino – If on a winter’s night a traveler,
Carmen Maria Machado – In the Dream House,
Vladimir Nabokov – Pnin, and
Mikhail Bulgakov – The Master and Margarita
I’m currently reading The Help. Pretty good book BUT I actually like the movie better., LoL Great video!
I heard The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is a good haters to lovers romance book! I think you’ll really like it. Also, I’m still putting off reading Imagine Me because I can’t believe it’s already the last book.
Great video queen! You’ve read a lot of great books this year already and it’s only July!
I’m so glad you finally did this video! I’ve been looking for some romance books to read and this came at a perfect time
CC really started 2020 right, unfortunately the year went downhill after that, but at least CC was a light in this darkness
My favorite read so far this year has been The Priory of the Orange Tree and Vicious!!
I also got mythopedia from netgalley! I totally agree it was stunning! Do you know if the final copy will be in full colour or will it stay black and white either way it’s beautiful but I’m just curious if you know if it will be in colour?
Guys honestly none of the laptop are all made by actual brand name, ram ssd processor display everything is from third party only the chassis and brand name are built by the company. It’s best to look at ram processor ssd and then visit bestbuy etc to see the build quality and pick one, or else be like my girlfriend who was confused that she just got macbook air 2017 in 2020, design that’s 12 years old.
I will totally understand if you don’t feel like checking out my channel, but I’ve got a recommendation video relating to nonfiction if you feel like checking it out at any given time.
I heard “Get a Life Chloe Brown” by talia h was a really great romance!
love the book recommendations + how you broke them down! it’s quite the welcome relief to hear that you also have been turning more to fiction lately over non-fiction, i can definitely relate!
I was looking at Mythopedia and realized we have another book called Myth Match by the same creator(s). It’s unbelievably beautiful and I’m definitely interested to get a look at Mythopedia too.
I read chloe brown. Good representation, and a decent guy. But otherwise, meh.
Great video Ashleigh! And so happy you’ve had such a great reading year so far!! Bring on reaper of souls
Tbh you inspired almost 10 books I’ve read this year and a huge part of my tbr love book videos ☺️☺️

I didn’t know you were into romance books! I love them and I often find myself reading those the most.
Those books that follow a new set of characters are called companion novels! I guess you could call it a companion series
So cool..your book corner..goals…..eeekk.
Welll done.
I need to stop with the netflix and get down to some reading.
Current read: The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas
Also I haven’t read a romance in a long time…might be time for a switch.
One hour and thirteen minutes in and I’m looking for some rope…goodbye cruel world️
The Guest List had me guessing until the end! I’m so not a mystery/ thriller reader, but The Guest List is definitely a new fave!
I know it is cruel but I have to say that He Started It is the worst of the worst, especially, its ending is crap. I can’t believe that Samantha Downing wrote that book, because I really enjoyed My Lovely Wife.
A Good Marriage to me is a decent read, not that great, but it is okay, the reveal is a bit out of blue and safe.
can you do a video about how to read more, what is your reading routine, when do you read etc:)
I’ve been trying to read little women on and off since april because my stupid ass bought an english copy and that’s not my first language. I’m like halfway through and I’m enjoying it but omg it’s a struggle with the old writing.
Also, I finally read dark matter and it’s by far my favorite of the year until this point
Great recommendations thank you! Would also love a video about best audiobooks of 2020. I am newer to those & have difficulty with some of the voices. My favorite has been The Dutch House narrated by Tom Hanks.
okay so i think i’m gonna make this video my tbr for the rest of the year I REALLY WANNA READ ALL OF THEM
I’m so excited for these books but I just have to say you do the sponsorship so well and you seem SO GENUINE about them and I really appreciate that. It actually makes me want to listen and not click through! Infectious
Just added The Troop to my Goodreads TBR. I’ve been trying to get more into horror so this sounds perfect! Also, definitely want to read Bunny:)
I LOVED Get a Life Chloe Brown and I can’t get to Dani’s story fast enough. Redford Morgan is the man we all deserve, really. The Guest List sounds very Agatha Christie, I’m intrigued!
Gabby just wanted to let you know that on your recommendation I read a Peter Swansong book ” Before he knew me”. Really enjoyed it, thank you and I would give it a 4 out of 5. This is the second book I have read from your list of books/authors and aim to read 5. Keep the videos coming. At 55 years old your personality is one of the few I can listen to re books without having to turn off. Thanks again, btw I am a black woman and love thrillers but will try some out of comfort zone books.
Still hella scared to read The Troop even though I am interested. Love The Guest List obviously, have The Dream Daughter, Long Bright River, and 11/22/63 on my TBR.
I gave Home Before Dark 4 stars. I wrote a review on my blog inoneversion.com but I might do a video review too.
Sorry, couldn’t even get through 3 minutes of your video. Why do youtubers chop a bunch of clips together? It’s so choppy and not fluid. Kind of annoying ♀️
I also loved Home Before Dark and Long Bright River (I may want to read it again myself as well )
So happy to see you have a mid-year book reviews! Love your energy and personality!
I got the dream daughter from the library because of you!!! Gonna start it soon!! I hope I love it!
A good marriage, home before dark and the guest list have been my faves to!!! Can’t wait to pick up He Started It now ☺️
I’m currently listening to The Troop on Hoopla and it’s insane!! There were a few times where I was seriously grossed out lol but I can’t wait to finish it!
We don’t really read the same things but I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing what you thought cos whenever I go outside my wheelhouse (fantasy, scifi) to actually pick up a thriller or mystery, it’s likely I’ll pick up something you raved about.
Any one else not love long bright river? I found it boring
Loved your recommendation ❤️ https://youtu.be/-rWd6OlGah8 here’s my list of books I have read in lockdown love from
If you’re reading a really popular book and you’re 65% through but it’s taken you ages and just isn’t catching you, would you give up on it and start something that probably will grip you? I’m reading a karin slaughter and it’s not all it’s hyped up to be
I read The Dream Daughter because of your reccomendation and absolutely loved it! And of course I tell everyone else to read it too! Keep the great videos & reccomendations coming.
Why did you miss so much of the actual new laptops that are out already? Lenovo Yoga c940, HP Spectre x360 late 2019, Dell XPS 13 2020, you missed a lot man…

In general, the details of Aristotle’s life are not well-established. The biographies written in ancient times are often speculative and historians only agree on a few salient points.[B]
Aristotle, whose name means “the best purpose” in Ancient Greek,[7] was born in 384 BC in Stagira, Chalcidice, about 55 km (34 miles) east of modern-day Thessaloniki.[8][9] His father Nicomachus was the personal physician to King Amyntas of Macedon. Both of Aristotle’s parents died when he was about thirteen, and Proxenus of Atarneus became his guardian.[10] Although little information about Aristotle’s childhood has survived, he probably spent some time within the Macedonian palace, making his first connections with the Macedonian monarchy.[11]
At the age of seventeen or eighteen, Aristotle moved to Athens to continue his education at Plato’s Academy.[12] He probably experienced the Eleusinian Mysteries as he wrote when describing the sights one viewed at the Eleusinian Mysteries, “to experience is to learn” [παθείν μαθεĩν].[13] Aristotle remained in Athens for nearly twenty years before leaving in 348/47 BC. The traditional story about his departure records that he was disappointed with the Academy’s direction after control passed to Plato’s nephew Speusippus, although it is possible that he feared the anti-Macedonian sentiments in Athens at that time and left before Plato died.[14] Aristotle then accompanied Xenocrates to the court of his friend Hermias of Atarneus in Asia Minor. After the death of Hermias, Aristotle travelled with his pupil Theophrastus to the island of Lesbos, where together they researched the botany and zoology of the island and its sheltered lagoon. While in Lesbos, Aristotle married Pythias, either Hermias’s adoptive daughter or niece. She bore him a daughter, whom they also named Pythias. In 343 BC, Aristotle was invited by Philip II of Macedon to become the tutor to his son Alexander.[15][5]
Portrait bust of Aristotle; an Imperial Roman (1st or 2nd century AD) copy of a lost bronze sculpture made by Lysippos
Aristotle was appointed as the head of the royal academy of Macedon. During Aristotle’s time in the Macedonian court, he gave lessons not only to Alexander, but also to two other future kings: Ptolemy and Cassander.[16] Aristotle encouraged Alexander toward eastern conquest, and Aristotle’s own attitude towards Persia was unabashedly ethnocentric. In one famous example, he counsels Alexander to be “a leader to the Greeks and a despot to the barbarians, to look after the former as after friends and relatives, and to deal with the latter as with beasts or plants”.[16] By 335 BC, Aristotle had returned to Athens, establishing his own school there known as the Lyceum. Aristotle conducted courses at the school for the next twelve years. While in Athens, his wife Pythias died and Aristotle became involved with Herpyllis of Stagira, who bore him a son whom he named after his father, Nicomachus. According to the Suda, he also had an erômenos, Palaephatus of Abydus.[17]
This period in Athens, between 335 and 323 BC, is when Aristotle is believed to have composed many of his works.[5] He wrote many dialogues, of which only fragments have survived. Those works that have survived are in treatise form and were not, for the most part, intended for widespread publication; they are generally thought to be lecture aids for his students. His most important treatises include Physics, Metaphysics, Nicomachean Ethics, Politics, On the Soul and Poetics. Aristotle studied and made significant contributions to “logic, metaphysics, mathematics, physics, biology, botany, ethics, politics, agriculture, medicine, dance and theatre.”[4]
Near the end of his life, Alexander and Aristotle became estranged over Alexander’s relationship with Persia and Persians. A widespread tradition in antiquity suspected Aristotle of playing a role in Alexander’s death, but the only evidence of this is an unlikely claim made some six years after the death.[18] Following Alexander’s death, anti-Macedonian sentiment in Athens was rekindled. In 322 BC, Demophilus and Eurymedon the Hierophant reportedly denounced Aristotle for impiety,[19] prompting him to flee to his mother’s family estate in Chalcis, on Euboea, at which occasion he was said to have stated: “I will not allow the Athenians to sin twice against philosophy”[20][21][22] – a reference to Athens’s trial and execution of Socrates. He died on Euboea of natural causes later that same year, having named his student Antipater as his chief executor and leaving a will in which he asked to be buried next to his wife.[23]
Great video! I can’t wait to read Home Before Dark book, I pre-ordered but it hasn’t been sent!!!!
I could’ve sworn some of these books you read like in 2019, I’m losing track of time

I’m probably in the minority but I did not like Home Before Dark. The ending was meh to me.
I would recommend you romance books but I got a lot of my recommendations from you soooo have you read historical romance before though? I read one a couple of months ago and I actually surprisingly really enjoyed it, it was just fun and light to read.
I haven’t watched all your book reviews, so please forgive me if you’ve already read these, but the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn are AMAZING. They’re funny and poignant at times and beautiful books. Also, Birdie by Taylor Ryan.
Some of my 2020 favorites: Verity by Colleen Hoover, Little Women, The Silent Patient, Digital Minimalism, Talking to Strangers, The Fountains of Silence, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Flowers for Algernon
My favorite read so far this year was A Heart So Fierce and Broken, the sequel to A Curse So Dark and Lonely. ALL THE STARS.
I just read a really good book it’s called How To Hang A Witch. It’s set in Salem and goes into the Salem Witch Trials and it has real people’s play on names. There is also another book in the series called Haunting The Deep it has to do with Titanic. I am not completely sure what it’s about. The author has had family members in each event in history!
I’ve been procrastinating 11/22/63 for SO LONG that I should really just put it on next month’s tbr and force myself to read it hahaha
Hello,
Great content! Just a quick thing…the put-on accent seems a bit too obvious and deliberate. Fix that and the video experience will be golden.
fyi I just started reading again in 2020 after thinking I hated it for years. I subscribed you and one other booktuber on youtube & have read 20 books so far this year, basically all of them are books the two of you recommended. Thanks for the inspo!
YES YES! More videos from you this week. The last few videos has been really great i always want more♥️
hey honestly you don’t have to spend a lot on laptop a friend sent bought this one for me and its the best laptop I ever had https://amzn.to/2A4Nk6w
I needed all the positive reinforcement, thank you all so very much.
I read THE ONE as I said. Thank you for recommending it, I am glad I read it. I gave it 3/3.5* because I didn’t like how people changed half way through the book and we didn’t get any hints for suspicions. Their personalities changed so much and it didn’t fit right with me. But, I really love the ending especially last few lines. And I don’t know how but somehow it was easy following all five characters and I managed to remember everything. Also, short chapters are a plus. Why did you like it so much? Can’t wait to read more of your recommendations
You are so much fun to watch definitely my favorite booktuber. Thanks for the recs, I put a few on hold at my library.
Currently reading Lock Every Door because of your recommendation so Home Before Dark is definitely on my TBR, and also He Started It and The Guest List. I’ve recently gotten over a THREE months long reading slump but so far this year my favourites are The Simple Wild, The Kiss Quotient, The Bride Test, and Josh & Hazel’s Guide To Not Dating.
I thought you DNF’d Get A Life Chloe Brown before…I guess around this time it was good.
