Very interested in seeing an actual runner like Seth use the Metaride. The two biggest videos on that shoe currently are Jamison Michael and Kofuzi, and neither of those guys can give a decent performance review.
For new runner shoes may be issue later after time it doesn’t matters..
Ran Pegasus’ when I enlisted them got 2 pair of Ghost 11’s from your Portland store last year. Burning thru my 2nd pair now and will be giving you guys another visit for a fresh pair next time in home!
Hello, may I use this video for my website about running shoes?
Hey Seth, in the current crazy virus world we live, how about everyone doing a virtual run at the same time usong Garmin connects Live track feature! Another way to connect socially without contact!
What is your opinion on the ASICS gel-Kayano 26?
I’m a stability shoe runner (sadly) btw
I never liked anything other than Nike zoom, Pegasus or Adidas boost. Even Adidas cloud foam was awesome. When I think of buying shoes other than Nike or Adidas i feel like i am investing in wrong product. Just a personal preference.
I went to the shoe store thinking of purchasing either the NB 1080v10 or Saucony Triumph 17. I was a beginner runner and wanted something with lots of cushion as I progress onto longer and longer runs so I don’t get too beat up. I found the New Balance upper too restrictive, and the Saucony midsole too unstable (I tweaked my ankle really badly once and didn’t want to risk that again). I then tried the Hoka Clifton 6 more out of curiosity, and it was just perfect. Such a spacious toe box and with the sole being so wide, it was difficult to twist my ankle in a direction I didn’t want it to. To top it off, it was noticeably lighter than either the NB or Saucony. Been running in the Clifton 6 now for almost half a year and it’s been a delight.
Interesting. Get a “kick” out of how many different types of running shoes exist, really “steps” on the brain which could make your mind “run” far away, and depending on the costs of running shoes could make your bank acct. go “afoot.”
QD Hoka for both my wife and myself. They just seem to fit better than most, plus I love the cushioning. Started out with the Speedgoat and now have the Rincon, Jawz, Challenger ATR 5 and the Clifton 6.
Keen to try Saucony and Asics tho.
Brooks Revel knit DNA. Been wearing them for 3 years, through 4 seasons they’ve never gave me issues
I don’t like ASICS FlyteFoam. It feels hard, lifeless, dead. FlyteFoam Blast is a whole ‘nother thing. Pegasus 36? Really? On Cloud? Hmmm…. Not so sure about this list.
Thank you so much for all your awesome views Seth! Was in 2 minds about the Novablast as it’s $230 in Australia! Ridiculous. But…have been looking for a bouncy cushioned shoe that would propel in forward and also be good form easy runs. So I pulled the trigger and bought them. They arrived this morning and I love them! (I’m a 65kg 47yr women who has been a surfer for 30yrs but have picked up running coz my body won’t let me surf as much as I like anymore) I bought the Tokoyo Black/gold which is veeery pretty! Very comfortable upper straight of the bat. And they don’t look cheap. They look premium. Great lockdown using extra eyelit and the runners knot you taught me to tie And the ride? Come on! I wanted to bounce down the street. Cushioned, responsive, propelling, heel & toe responsive (I’m a heel striker) took it on the street, beach, rock. Tread was fine. It’s was gale force winds, 14ft surf, rainy rough conditions. They didn’t blink. Took in everything and even when my legs started to tire I didn’t want to stop coz they just feel so FUN to run in. Fun, as you said, is the name of this shoe & really why I bought it! Even when it was soaking wet my the end of my run it was light. Negatives? I can see how it would be unstable as it is quite high and narrow. I overpronate a little on my right foot but it was ok as the lock down was great so my foot was stable. Similar ride to the infinity but more bouncy & maybe responsive. Infinity is definitely more stable with that arch support they have in it now. Anyway! Thanks Seth!
It’s a nice video I would like to see more videos for Nike shoes running or for training…. thanks
No Nike Vaporfly Next%?? That zoomx plus the carbo fiber plate is revolutionary
I’m flat foot with zero pronation. What shoe should I look at?
For running/casual should i get nike react infinity run or ultra boost 20
How does the Asics Nimbus lite compares to the Triumph 17 And the Nike infinity React?
Thank you for the great reviews. Have always been a fan of Asics, but was starting to stray away in recent years as their performance was starting to be “iffy” in my experience. Had heard that was changing more recently and have been wanting to get back into them. Just ordered my Novablasts, based primarily on your review, but that also seems to be a consensus amid other reviewers. Tell Asics you made a sale for them. I hope the running shoe companies keep sending you shoes to review as you have the best unbiased reviews out there IMHO.
I tend to supinate and don’t know much about walking and running shoes. I usually brisk walk and jog a little over 6 to 7 kms. What shoe would you recommend? Thank you.
Seth I do my 30k long run 20k on bush track gravel road, lime track, & 10k road will the glidride do?
I have run in the gt 1000 6 for the past few years, but recently decided to move away from stability shoes. Also, a note for people looking to get the 1000 9, I would wait a couple months because every 1000 series shoe (at least the 6 -8) you can find them for under 60 dollars on the internet everywhere just a couple months after the release.
I have supination/under pronation. I usually get plantar fasciitis from other shoes. What shoe would you recommend? I only run for 2-3 miles a day, 6 days a week except Sundays.
Normally it is said that Peg turbo2 is a upgraded version of Peg 36. Can I know why Peg 36 is in it instead of turbo 2?
GT-1000 7’s are on sale for $60 on Asics page! https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/mens-running-shoes/c/aa10201000/?prefn1=productSubType&prefv1=Running&start=47
Thanks for the info, I just purchased shoes but think ill get a different pair for running only!
My favorite, is number 1 and 3. Got them from #@t they got nice stuffs
Seth:”Gotta call ASICS about the heel problem”
Damn he got ASICS number lol

Nova blast are fantastic shoe. I’ve had them for a month and watch my times improve.
Hello, may I use this video for my website about running shoes?
QD: I must say I was pleasantly surprised by Skechers….they weren’t even on my radar until started watching this channel. They are making a name for themselves in the running space.
PLEASE Consult a running expert before buying any shoes! I work in a run specialty setting, and I almost never pull these shoes unless someone requests them. The only shoe I agree with on here is the Rincon. You pronounced “one one” wrong (it is not like the number 1), and the peg Turbo is a way to break the bank if you are a couch to 5k athlete. I would only use that shoe for faster if you can run under 20:00 for a 5K workouts. Next percent SHOULD definitely NOT be used for training to make that clear! You should get a racing shoe and a training. Using these “hybrid shoes” is a good way to get injured.
i am a little interested now at on cloud. Wha do you think, do you reccomend it?
Hi Seth, how is the Asics Novablast sizing vs the Nike Vaporfly next%? I use US 10 for next%.

Seth, I was notified today about the future release of ASICS Gel-Lyte XXX. It looks pretty serious, you should check it out.
I have the novablasts and they too gave me blisters on my achilles and on the top of my foot along the tongue. What I did for the tongue was put masking tape along the sides (my tape matches the shoe color so the little bit that shows isn’t noticeable). For the heels I’m just wearing quarter socks and if the blisters don’t get better with breaking them in I’ll try the masking tape in the back as well. I feel like there is a lot of heel room and thats why the blisters happen. even with all of this being a problem I’m so glad i upgraded from the nimbus series to these.
I have the brooks ghost 12 and the Nike Pegasus and my feet be killing me! I mean 3 mins in a 2 mile I can’t feel my feet
I m old asics user this year i bought kayano 26 totally disappointed uncomfortable hard & heavy total flop total loss of 160 $
QD: New Balance in the last 6 months I’ve bought the Fuelcell Rebel, Fuelcell Propel and the 1080v10. Love them all
I love the Novablast! Would the evoride fit in the rotation as a steady run shoe? What’s your approximate running durability. ASICS has surprised me & I’m starting to buy in their products.
Hi Seth, been loving your vlogs for more than an year, and happy that you’re loving the Asics 2020 line up(recently bought myself a novablast too). FYI, it was announced in Japan that Asics will soon be releasing the carbon fiber plate infused shoe called the Metaracer, mid April. Even the Asics store staff in Japan said they had no idea about the exact release date, but I hope it’s coming soon!!! We(Japan) still haven’t given up on the olympics, so I hope everybody can stay strong, safe, be considerate of others and survive through this ridiculous situation, stronger than ever!!!
No
Adidas adizero, Boston
Sketchers gorun razor3
ASICS novablast
????
Hello, I really want the novablast. It is a neutral shoe. Am I right, that while wearing orthopedic insoles (like really from an orthoped) I should choose a neutral shoe because I have already stability from an insole?
I’m not that fast, but I make it a point to beat the people I see wearing shoes that cost over $200. So far, so good. Shoes are nice, but not magic. When people refuse to pay over $200, they will stop charging that much. So can ridiculous Forest Gump people realize shoes are not magic? I understand the better shoes will cost a little more, but $400? for those dumb elf shoes I keep running past? come on.
Adidas, by accident so I’m the odd one out. Wanted to avoid Nike, ended up in tempo-adidas land and was al smiles discivering the adizero line. Asics has been a long love for daily trainers up until 10 years ago (cumulus), I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the Cumulus again if the price was right.
My #1 is the Cloudflow by ON. By far the best shoes I’ve ever bought
Hey, Set, do you plan to review the Asics Kayano 27 someday? I am very interested in the stability line of Asics.
Hi, what makes the Solar Boost 19 better than the Solar Glide 19? They look almost identical to me
I bought the Asics Novablast, sight unseen, based solely on your recommendation. Bought them from your link to running ware-house. Awesome shoes. My knees were thanking me afterwards. I ran in a pair of asics when I was a senior in high school. Ran over 1940 miles on them.
I have slight pronation. I’ve had the adrenaline 19 for a little too long and looking for a new shoe. Not sure if I want to get the adrenaline 20, gt 1000 9, hurricane 22, or Arahi 4. I’m still only running low mileage everyday to prevent injury. When I did do longer runs I had Achilles pain, shin pain, and knee pain. Only happened after running 3 or more miles. I’m not at that point yet.
QD: Asics all the way! Asics have always felt better on my feet than any other brand. Just a better fit in general. So it’s great to see this innovation. Got the Novablast a week ago on your recommendation and absolutely love it! Probably gonna use it for longer runs and then add the Evoride or Ninbus Lite for shorter runs and tempo workouts.
Thanks fellow Seth!
I think you will be disappointed with the Metaride, especially for price. I found the glideride to be a superior shoe. The two companies that surprised me are ASICS and Saucony. New Balance has some nice Fuelcell shoes but not enough other shoes. Skechers Speed Elites are special too, but the other hyperburst are not as good. But great pricing for Skechers.
Sorry guys Hoka Bondi is a much more comfortable running shoe over the long haul. Brooks Glycerin is not even close.
You video is not balanced and lack looking at other brands, which are much better.
Great job as always. I am looking forward to trying on clifton 7. I liked the clifton 6 but switched it out for NB 1080 V10. So glad I did. That’s a great sneaker to run. Feels like I am running on pillows. I am a huge NB fan but i would defintely love to try and run in clifton 7 when it comes out in June I believe.

Im a new runner im 5’7″ have a shin splints and knee issues. Can you give me a shoe recommendation for daily jogging
QODSalming!!! Hesitantly tried a pair in spring of 2018 (can’t remember exact model)…great shoe. Bought the “Greyhound “ summer of 2019. It became my long run shoe and my steasy shoe. Great fit, soft but springy. Worth checking out.
Wrong title for this video. Should be 2019. Nike Pegasus 37, Brooks Ghost 13 and Glycerin 18 are the 2020 running shoes out now. The ones in this video are all the 2019 iterations.
Has the Novablast continually give you blisters I am a very new runner this year never run before thinking of getting this
My Pegasus turbos didn’t last 50 miles before the react and ZoomX foam separated.Give me the standard Pegasus any day over the turbos I don’t rate the turbo at all and I’ve had most of the Pegasus over the years
Thanks for sharing this video with all of us. It is really helpful. I have recently purchased one of these shoes and they are great. Also sharing here an article on best road running shoes. Check it out here: https://www.fitnessattention.com/6-new-stability-road-running-shoes-womens-running/
QoD: 100% ASICS! I own the Gel-Nimbus Lite (because of your excellent review) and I LOVE them!! Just like you said this is a classic every day trainer and the midsole is superb. Next pair will be the Novablast (and maybe the Glideride aswell). Thanks Seth for sharing your unbiased opinion!!
Asics seam to have a bit of an ego. Relying on their past success to get them by but the truth is that they haven’t innovated for a long time and try to create the impression that they are by slapping a flashy name on basic EVA midsoles. Not to mention the unreasonable pricing
No REEBOK? What the heck. The Floatride series is a good running shoe.
How are you!!! James…
I’m like this program… Really do you insert more and big differences It… I talk about Asics… I’m from Brazil It last product dont arrived in my country for sale yet…
Asics Gel could a excellent products that. A Big hug for you!!
Asics Kayano 26? Good joke! Hoka Arahi 4, Saucony Hurricane 22 & Brooks Transcend 7 are far superior stability shoes than Asics outdated technology.
QD: Asics make loves to get away from being “the old man shoe” which is good to se
The On Cloud shoes are not great for any terrain except for indoor. I consistently had issues with rocks getting stuck in the spaces on the sole and it’s a real pain to take them out.
Best all round shoe for a person who wants to get into running?
They are soon going to come out with a collab metaride with kengo Kuma that’s all black. https://hypebeast.com/2020/3/asics-metaride-black-71i-wl9022-release
#MakeAsicsGreatAgain! Could never get the Kayano, loved Cumulus 17. The Glideride is the bees knees! I’m hoping there’s a Glideride FFBlast coming soon.
I know it shouldn’t matter but I just don’t like the look of their line up ♂️
Would love to see Asics be relevant again they were such a good shoe and its good to see them getting back in QOD for me it has really been New Balance in the last 24 months starting with the Beacon they have really been amazing I have pretty much left all of my other brands for now (other than trail) I wouldn’t say that I wont try others because I love shoes I always try everything on but keep coming back after trying NB on and like them better so why not.
I have the ASICS gt1000 9s and they are super comfortable even the first day I broke them in
will be cool to see that Asics racer shoe that is meant to be for the olympics, carbon plate etc.
the pict adidas, but there is no adidas in this video
Hi, we have hardly been working here in Israel for a week.
In the meantime allowed us to run outside, hope that remains:-). it’s nice to see your videos, and see that actually the world is still beautiful.
Hello, may I use this video for my website about running shoes?
Skechers Speed Elite…. Easily a better shoe than most of these on the list….
what is a GREAT running shoe for a mile run or short distances?
Hey Seth, how would you compare the Glideride with Hoka’s Carbon-X, mainly on stiffness? I am considering both for my long runs. I would love to try the Novablast as well from the excitement I hear from you guys, but 10mm doesn’t work for me anymore:(.
worst running shoes of 2020??? cause this is the video for it
just got bondi 6s after owning several pairs of “boost” (lol) they dont last 5 minutes!upper shreads to bits and the tread wears out fast resulting in the boost not working as it should(injury shoes for real)
the last hoka clifton 3s i owned lasted 1000km. im ready for hokas again
QD: Fits the video but really who has come out of nowhere with all these changes and shoes than Asics?
Seth, you’ve got to stop saying supinators need a stability shoe! Supinators need the most neutral shoe available to encourage their foot to roll through, or pronate. Signed, a long-time supinator:)
Just got the Nova Blast yesterday and got the same Achilles tendon rubbing on my first run with them. One sock did not cover my tendon and I had some rubbing and redness in that tendon area by the heel counter but my other foot was fine because the sock covered that Achilles tendon.
The rubbing would probably develop into a blister if I went on runs with lower socks exposing my Achilles to the heel counter. I’ll go on more runs this weekend with higher socks to protect my Achilles and report back if that helped or not.
You and Jami M giving us a cringe-free association with MAGA
Hey Seth! Looking for recommendation on long distance Asics shoe. Im torn between the novablast and glide ride. Im leaning toward the glide ride. Im 6 foot 195 lbs and log about 25-30 miles a week. Ive already bottomed out my hoka rincons after 100 miles. Thoughts on the two Asics?
Seth, do you always use a runners knot/loop, or just when you need a more secure ankle fit? Thanks for all the great content.
Hey Seth, stuck inside in France so can’t go shopping but still running around the block. Question: What would you go from the Mizuno wave inspire 15 with its little pronation correction. I have had two pairs and got 650km in each but i would like a change. Take care of the family. Cheers.
I scored a pair of Meta Ride for $99. Perfect for easy recovery days for me. Heavy and too much technology but couldn’t pass it up at that price
QoD: new balance, i took my zante pursuit for marathon training and they held up nicely in stormy weather up to 20+ miles for at least 2 times. They held up well using them after drying them twice
Seth, does your trying out so many different shoes help or harm your running form? The real questions for myself is as I train for a marathon (now postponed but I’m still planning) wouldn’t I be better off to do all my runs in the shoes I plan on racing in? Or if I’m mixing it up should I race in my long run shoes?
QoD: Without a doubt, it would be ASICS. I never liked ASICS in the past, but this recent line-up is incredible. The Novablast is my favorite.
Well it looks like the video shut off before the actual video was intended to be done
I have been looking for a new daily trainer, so i decided to buy Asics Gel-Nimubs Lite. Its a good shoe if you like wider toebox. They are well cushioned and bouncy. I didnt have the chance to try them in store, so i just ordered it online. For me i could go half size down, becouse they are a bit too wide for me in the toebox, i did the “Runners knot” and it helped a bit. I suggest trying them first at the local store before buying them if you can.
Great overview. I really like these overviews within one product line, as well as the comparisons between manufacturers and models. No heel rub problems with the Novablast for me. Novablast, at $130, is shoe of the year. $130 is my top end I like to pay for any shoe. I’m not as big a fan of Flytefoam as you, a little too stiff and hard for me, but the FFBlast is fantastic. GT-1000’s usually don’t work for me. Given your review, I may have to get a pair of the Nimbus Lite’s if the midsole material is more forgiving than Flytefoam. Thank you for doing all the research and delivering all the information. Enormously helpful.
Trying to find a versatile supportive shoe, good for the gym and outdoor running, anyone help out?
Got the Novablast for my daughter. She’s been using them for her faster days. No blister issues and she loves them.
QD: Definitely ASICS. Have gone from 0 shoes that interest me to 4 within a few months.
This is the review I was looking for Seth! Thank You! Gonna pick up some Gliderides now
Go to Jami reviews, Eddbud, or Kofuzi for good reviews and opinions. This video SUCKS!!!
ASICS are my jam! I can’t run in Nikes always get injured. I overpronate and got a nasty hamstring injury in the Pegs. Switched back to the GT-2000 series and no problems.
Watching you talk about shoes makes me more excited to keep my daily running routine. Thanks
QoftheD: Brooks. Prior to trying them out I thought they were too normal, too standard to be interesting but after trying a lot of shoes I loved the Ghost 12 the minute I put them on
QD: definitely Asics. I work at a running store and man has Asics gotten back on their game
I bought the novablast, ran twice 10km and I love them. My favorite run shoe experience so far: ahari 3, vomero 14 and pegasus. Novablast left a great first impression. Great shoe for people like me..a medium runner, (3, 4 times a week) not super fast, 76 kilo’s, 174 cm. Novablast is great.
Haha the casual shoe guy Seth Fowler as a performance reviewer
I will surprise everyone but as Asics fan I ran my first 10K in the Asics Gel Excite 6, I might use it for my first Half Marathon. When you have budget restriction, you gotta improvise.
Asics is the most surprising for me. I got the glide ride based on your recommendation especially when you bought a second pair I knew it had to be good. While it’s a heavy shoe surprisingly my legs do not feel beat up afterwards. Imo it’s a really good shoe for logging allot of miles but keeping legs feeling fresh which was a nice surprise.
Who is the guy who is running @min 7:30? This guy overpronates as hell and definitely needs a stability shoe!
Used the Peg Turbo’s all last year and really enjoyed them but always seem to have difficulty with sore Achilles. Switched to the Peg Turbo 2 and have had zero problems and enjoy them for all of my runs……question is where do I go from here? I am interested in other shoes but if it’s not broke should I attempt to fix?! Thanks
Hey Thanks for the Great Video
I am currently using a Pegasus 34 which I use for my high intense training and want to change the Shoes and buy 2 one would be Pegasus 36 another budget one for milder walks. I was confused if I should check Nike control tr3/tr4 or the Nike Flex Experience RN 9 /2020
Thanks do let me know your thoughts!
What are some good shoes for high school sprinters? For training/sprint workouts.
I ran in Asics through high school and college. Then about 2-3 years ago their toe box in the Nimbus got so tight I had to look elsewhere (Nike). I tried the GlideRide based on your recommendation and really like them! I’ve put them into my long run arsenal (along with the Vomero 14’s). Your channel, in a sense, brought me back to my roots.
good vids!! bought my evoride after hearing your review. liking the evoride, just that I keep going faster even on my slow days. Looking for an easy day asics shoe now, Nimbus-lite or Novablast?
Just be careful when you order direct from ASICS. If you do, the return policy will not allow you to test drive a shoe…If you wear it, you cannot return it for any reason. I would definitely look at running warehouse or road runners as an alternative to ordering from ASICS direct.
