Serious questions from curiosity… why not just take a prenatal pill? It has the majority, if not all of these of vitamins in one pill and they’re available OTC. Also, for electrolytes… why not just drink purified water enhanced with electrolytes? Gatorade and Propel aren’t the only drinks with electrolytes.
So according to this info all the biggest brands are useless. So allllll the scientists and doctors that crafted these pills are wrong. Yknow why i HATE everyones…everyones OPINIONS on multivitamins? Nobody knows.. 100 drs say one thing while 100 others say another. You all need to get your shit together, get together and make a fckn decision.
Which bone broth do you use I’ve never tried one that taste good and salty I always have to add bouillon cubes to mine
Lmaooo he said we take vitamins to look good and show off for Instagram, I take them for health and longevity lol
Tells you why they don’t work and than doesn’t offer a solution. As far as I’m concerned this was a useless video
Dr Mike, have you heard of a study claiming that the micronutrient content of fruit and veg has significantly declined in recent years? This was the justification a plastic surgeon (on youtube) used to recommend taking supplements. The same guy quotes another study, where over 70 different diets were found not to provide the needed daily nutrition. Help please, trying to figure out which research/professional to trust. Too much info out there.
If your a healthy people u dont need multivitamins.
But if your not healthy people its ok to have multivitamins?
You should suggest the correct one for people who go to gym every day cause they are too many in the market and we don’t know. Thank you
I’m a big fan of Dr. Mike but I just can’t agree to this one. I believe that good, quality vitamins have now become a necessity in modern times. The most obvious change that has caused this IMO is the lack of quality vitamins and minerals that are now available in our crops/foods due to the fact that our once nutrient rich soils are comparatively depleted, as opposed to when our parents/grandparents were young, due to over-farming practices, pesticides, GMO and early harvesting practices, etc. Tell me a red delicious apple now tastes the same as it did 30 yrs. ago… NOT even close.
Guilty here. I take vitamin c and fish oil (Jamieson) everyday.
Dr. Mike:..this unrealistic body image that’s pushed on us.
Dr. Mike: *exists
It’s very hard, almost impossible, to get all nutrients from food.
Hi Toria, this is Danielle, you 1 kidneyed follower! I was waiting for this video and I took notes. My doctor told me she would “prefer” I don’t do the Keri diet as she feels it is too “aggressive.” But when I pressed her, she couldn’t give me any good reasons NOT to do it. I’ve been doing a TON of research as well. I thought about Atkins but I think I’m going to stick with trying Keto. I’m going to get all my blood work done prior to starting just to make sure my kidney function is normal as it always is. I would like to keep you posted on my “journey” if you are interested. Thanks for sharing this info!! Take care, Dani
What if you take them separately? Such as magnesium supplements
I have Chron`s disease (currently not on treatment…) I am attempting to turn my eating habits around (less junk and sugar, more fruits and vegetables), but is it a good idea to take a supplement?
Both hands out. Left hand forward. Hands clasped together.
My bloodwork says that I’m Vitamin D deficient so I just take that. Pacific Northwest gang rise up (in the dark because there is no sun)
I’m vegetarian so I take B12. My blood test this year and last year came completely fine except for low vitamin D, so I’m taking that. I’m also taking vitamin C just cus.
One doctor long ago told me I have nothing to worry about when getting a little lax on my nutrition sometimes out of practicality. He was right. Drinking enough fluids in general is another thing. Unless the question is could I ever get away with drinking too much coffee and cola or some other kind of stimulant while trying to stay up for long periods of time to drive truck? That was and is now never going to happen as part of my career for me too because for one thing I am so terrible at trying to cope with shift work instead of a regular week to week schedule over long period of time except for 2 week holiday when trying to operate any kind of machinery or set of instruments while trying to communicate with others at the same time over radio. Which would still be problematic for anyone. However try and convince all that to your baby sister that she doesn’t need any vitamin pill taken often during the day that she saw advertised online. It is just a whole lot easier while she isn’t looking to throw out all of them or at the very least try after locking them up in a place and making sure she will not find the key or use her allowance to go out and buy more anyway.
So most of the vitamins I need conflict with each other? Hmmmm
You’re teeth are brighter than my future lol. You’re absolutely stunning girl!
Take multivitamins they work he just wants to sell his product
I would really appreciate a more scientific review/comparison of a few of the popular multivitamins floating around including/especially: Gem, Ritual, & Kachava (which is like a meal replacement/protein drink) & Olly brand as well. ✌️
OMG I’m a med student and when I hear about people ranting about how more people should be taking vitamin D everyday and im like GIRL NO IT’S LITERALLY MORE HARMFUL FOR YOU LIKE STAHPPPPPPP
I take zinc o4 ZMA before bed, several hours after my last meal.
I take 3 pills of Optimen On, what do you think about this multi?
******Dr. Mike is a coward/man boy and here are the facts*******
This coward… This man-boy has attacked Dr. Judy Mikovits and runs for the hills when Dr. Judy agrees to debate him. Dr. Mike confirmed on three separate occasions with Patrick Bet-David that he would debate Dr. Judy. As soon as a day was scheduled for the debate, Dr. Mike bailed out on his commitment to debate Dr. Judy on the Facts. Is Dr. Mike the kind of man you want your children to aspire to be? This coward who went out of his way to slander and libel Dr. Judy does not have the backbone to debate her? Even worse, he does not take ownership of his decision and blames the talent coordinator on Patrick’s show. Do you know what Dr. Mike’s excuse was? Dr. Mike said that he was pressured into accepting a debate with Dr. Judy. Are you kidding me, on three separate occasions you were asked if you would do it and you confirmed every time you coward. Watch this video, Patrick is so powerful!

*** Dr. Mike you coward, you owe it to Dr. Judy to debate her on the facts!****
Hello sir…can u recommend me the best multivitamins..which works properly
ADA says do not take Vit C{for teeth}. Scurvy and other illness are fine without Vit C. Do not be Healthy, Bless you.
The lady who asked the question looks way past her fertility age; the black lady is talking all about prenatal issues. WTF?????
Only stated taking them because I have been pale and tired recently
Deficiencies may be so low exactly because people are taking basics multivitamin and multimineral supplements that at least give them the minimum amount of everything needed, without even remotely approaching the danger of excess, with plenty room for nutrients coming from food, while preventing deficiency.
The other way is just having supplemented foods everywhere, just like some European countries do to face some common deficiencies in population, but this doesn’t allow to control how much one is taking and the danger of taking too much is behind the corner.
Also, this solution is leading to imbalances, as fortified foods contain just a handful of nutrients more.
If someone wants to get every essential nutrient with the daily diet, even eating 200 grams of vegetables in both meals, they need good luck.
I’m not even starting on eating “the American way” or just generally eating stuff coming from conventional farming, which depletes a lot of nutrients double good luck.
Also, I wouldn’t take any “osteopathic association” seriously, as they are one of the least to apply scientific evidence to themselves.
thank fucking you doc. I almost joined a networking scheme of a company that sells supplements. Their presentation on their products is pretty convincing for anyone who is “Insecure.” Did my own research on supplements and stumbled upon this video. Definitely not joining that network now after watching this. I don’t wanna be a part of a group that prey on insecure people for monetary gain. I can’t be a part of that even if I can make money easily
“Odds are you don’t have any health conditions! Odds are you doctor didn’t tell you to take one!” Uh, hello. Chronic and genetic illness here. You’ve got to stop making blanket statements, doc.
maybe they dont have a deficiency because theyre taking the vitamin
Told to take calcium, b2 and magnesium for migraines by my neurologist.
WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
IS IT TRUE?
Wtf is he talking.
He isn’t big enough to talk about this shit
Most multivitamins dont have the same ingredients that conflict with each other. Show us the “those” multivitamins then. People call themselves expert by saying “dont use it that and that ” these days
Another BS video,
also Full-Body workout shit is same BS as this one. He’s assuming gene activitation which has no scientific data to back it up.
I still didnt see any major bodybuilder who is doing full-body at high level. all BS
If most of the multivitamins don’t work (even bodybuilding.com’s own brand of multivitamin), WHY bodybuilding is still selling all these different multivitamin brands with zinc, magnesium, calcium etc in it?
Next time just put the disclaimer in the description save some time
My stepdad takes multivitamins/supplements every day, one day he went to the hospital because he had a complaint of dizziness and he is not the type of person to go to the hospital if anything happens to him (it has to be serious, or painful for him to actually go to the hospital). He did some blood test and vitals, turns out he is completely ‘healthy’ and everything is fine. I hypothesize its the vitamins he is taking that may be causing this (he’s vegan).
So what happens when you eat broccoli? It has both calcium and magnesium as well as other vitamins and minerals like iron.
Tune in next week where he will say that they do work! Imagine that.
One other resource useful for patients is going on mytavin to check for nutrient depletions caused by medications.
I had an allergic reaction to my prenatal and my OBGYN office recommended that I just take Flintstone vitamins instead. This just seems wrong. Am I right?
Funny your example is vitamin D, cause my doctor just put me on vitamin D supplements.
i just want to eat multivitamins and fish oil along with protein shake all day forget food
My doctor told me it couldn’t hurt so why not just take them. I always worry that and buying capsules with nothing in them though lol
There’s a thin line between misquoting scientific studies and blatant malpractice while trying to sell your brand supplements.
So the reasons overall is that despite taking the multivitamins, they’re just not really even getting the vitamins and minerals into your body via absorption correctly? Interesting, thanks for the upload!
I need vitamins I don’t eat any fruits or vegetable like dead serious I’m super picky
I just ordered a 44 supply container of Animal PAK…Everything looks good except for their Chromium is in the form of chloride and I don’t see any vitamin K…but other than that really good list of vitamins and other stuff
Stop the pharma obsession. I’m 63 and the only pharmaceutical drugs I take are Symbicort and until this SARS thing happened, rarely actually took that. Could l likely be put on other meds but they know I’m not interested in doing that unless there’s a proven reason for doing so. I do take vitamin D to prevent infection (there are legit studies showing its effectiveness), and cannabis for sleep (works better than anything else I’ve tried that was GP recommended, and my GP was in favour). There’s a degree of brainwashing by the pharma companies on medical students that carries on into their practice.
i like jim but this kinda doesnt sound right because the foods we eat sometimes have all these and would not take in some things. even if you buy his vitamins lol
Sir mujhe bhi body banana chahte hi kiya khaye Mai sir taki Mera bhi body bne plz
Yea I remember somebody once told me Americans have some of the most expensive pee
I take a multi-vitamin for a few reasons. One, I don’t eat veggies. I hate them with a passion and nearly vomit any time I try to eat one. Second, I’ve got a stomach condition that makes it where I can only eat very small portions which can lead to me feeling super short of breath sometimes to the point where my vision starts to go. I 100% agree with Dr. Mike on most of this. But, if you feel better taking a multi-vitamin and can afford it, go for it. It’s a no-risk situation. Like wearing a mask during COVID. It can’t hurt, can only help.
Absolutely agree that eating a healthy diet is number one thing to do. I have had results from taking vitamins and herbs. Turmeric for pain, ashwagandha for stress, magnesium for aches and pains, bs for and iron for energy.
Odds are you don’t have any of these conditions
Me: pregnant binge watching vitamins videos
Tried getting out of codliver oil capsules when i was younger with something similar to this… apparently my doctor told my mum to give me them to take when i was younger. I failed
hey doc mike, im a cyclist, is it ok for me to take vitamins two weeks before every race??? i was just wondering, cuz im doing it every two weeks before my sports event which is bike racing.
Don’t bother with other vitamins buy mine….Dr Jim Stoppani.
I supplement electorlytes, b vitamins, vitamin d and hyaluronic acid. I take a 27mg iron every other day.
I do alot of IF and keto. So i feel good about my choices.
I eat a good amount of veg and take no other meds. I track using cronometer and had a good idea what i wasnt getting enough of.
I just looked it up and magnesium is actually very important in the absorption of calcium, this guys a lying phony
I just read an article that said your multivitamin should include zinc, calcium and magnesium. LOL
He should be a villan in some good hollywood movie it would really suite him.
Best part of this video was before the video started an ad playing for vitamin supplements. XD
You kind of bounce around between weight loss supplements, and then talk about a vitamin deficiency, it’s a really confusing video, I wish you would have stuck to just one subject matter. Because when I think of supplements, I think of fat burners or energy supplements. When I think of vitamins I think of Vitamin D, iron, etc, I’d love you to redo the video and focus on one or the other. I definitely agree that people take things that are unnecessary, even vitamins such as magnesium that can be easily fulfilled by just eating the right foods. Any who, still love your videos!
These vitamins and minerals made get rid off of all psychiatric medications. And im talking about strong anti psychotics for bipolar disorder. So be a little careful before you put up a video. And no doct prescribed these minerals and vitamins
Where does the vitamin obsession come from? I think a large part are people getting older or out of shape and just wanting to feel better. People will have a pain and then Google or a friend will tell them a possibility is that they are deficient in “x”. I would be curious if that survey had asked the reason why people are taking them.
I only take the ones my doc says which is unfortunately a ton of them:( iron, potassium, d, calcium, b12 and cranberry on top of my lifestyle changes:/
Odds are I am pregnant and need it… however, after I’m done breastfeeding, yeah I won’t need them… till I get knocked up again…
I’ve tracked the vitamins I get from foods. And a good multi vitamin does just enough to get me my dailies. They help loads with my migraines.
Fun fact: Just now the advertisement before this video was for a protein shake with fiber that helps you diet.
I searched Most of the Multivitamins have Calcium and Magnesium so what should I do Stop taking them?
One of the rare people that takes Vitamin D because of a deficiency. I should just go outside more lol prob would help my depression as well.
Should I, a 22 year old sexually active female, be taking a prenatal vitamin in case I get preggers?
Mah mom’s money are waisted because our doc told us to take vitamins for no reason
I used to take a multi vitamin a suggestion by my mum and she meant well ofcourse. My psychiatrist told me to get rid of em and gave me a blood test to see which vitamins I did and didnt need and prescribed those.
Check out this Dr.’s pro-supplementation stance https://youtu.be/o0u8UdZeOhc
I don’t really trust doctors….not gonna trust everthing they say. They’re not right all the time. I went to a doctor and complained about everything I was having issues with. He said I was perfectly healthy. I went to another doctor. Turned out I was right…I had so many health issues. But the first doctor told me I was just insane lol.
Multivitamins can be great for other people who don’t get enough on their diet. It’s not necessarily bad. Don’t always listen to doctors. Many of them are idiots who don’t give a sht about people’s health…all they care about is money.
Talk to midevil people Amish why they should take vitamins… Vitamin B12 and B6 come from meat. And vitamin D needs sun to activate the inactive form of consumable vitamin D. Vitamin C will be pee out if you take bunch and forget little.
Can I shrink you and keep you in my pocket and you can help me make decisions throughout each day?
Most people take vitamins for some reason. Like vitamin C for scurvy, and vitamin D for rickety bone issues. Vitamin A for eye problems. I literally memorized the whole pages of vitamin deficiency on step 1 usmle. Useless but great for House, MD series.
If Joe Rogan was taller and leaner, he would look like this dude.

So if most don’t work. What are the ones that do? I ask for ur recommendations. I may be late for this video. I hope u see my message.
God knows if you’re still checking comments from a year ago, but question:
Do you have a particular multi-vitamin or set of supplements you’d recommend to someone who’s working through an eating disorder, to help get them the nutrients they need while they’re working on the root problem? Or would it be more tailored to the results of a particular person’s blood tests? (I know this one’s a bit controversial cause some nutritionists won’t want you to take vitamins ever and then learn to rely on them, while others see them as a stepping stone.)
Finally, someone sane is speaking about these stupid supplements ughhh
Well I’m taking bcs I think I have a deficient of some kind of vitamin,I think is B12 bcs i have premature white hair, i didnt go to the doctor for this but that’s bcs I’m tired of going to the doctor (i live in europe ), I had a health problem and I’m tired of going to the doctor, I dont consider it necessary, she most probably will tell me that”is not a health problem”
There is no substantiated research showing zinc to inhibit amino acid uptake. There’s one random study done on rats but even that only concluded zinc may interact with certain amino acids.
It’s been two days and it says: ”Vita JYM:
We no longer carry this product”
Is this scientific based? Are there any studies that would support these vitamine theories?
So Doctor what multivitamin supplement would you recommend for someone training hard and over the age of 50?
I really was gonna leave at 2:15 My heart legit dropped when he said “hold up”
To answer how the vitamin craze was started, according to Adam Ruins Everything (which yes, I used to watch), this craze was popularized by Linus Pauling, who made up these crazy beliefs later in his life. Due to his previously earned popularity, everyone trusted him.
That’s why if you take calcium, you need to take Vitamin K2 along with it. K2 eases and absorbs calcium in the system instead of it just circulating around the body, getting into trouble and depositing itself (calcium) where it shouldn’t be.
I have some definite medical issues and I agree, so much, with this. I also think that people take extremely crappy supplements. I would urge that if you think you do need a supplement, you need to do your research on the supplement and the companies you spend your money on. There are tons of terrible supplements out there. Terrible quality, loads of other ingredients. I think it’s safe to either not take them at all, supplement with actual food, or seriously get into researching the product.
The first reason is bullshit. A normal meal contains a lot of different vitamins and minerals and if this was true then we would all be living with serious deficiency. The other reasons are also bullshit. Most multivitamins I have seen does contain the vitamins and minerals that this guy claims are missing. Take your multivitamins guys and dont listen to this bullshit.
You will never get full 100% nutrition from your food, most people don’t know how. Eat regular and supplement. It’s the easiest way

Batista body shawm Michael’s voice and Channing Matthew face
Both ads before this video was for dietary beauty supplements #irony
Ok great! Now what! lol. Just a heads up Jim. You might want to leave suggestions of A multi-Vitamins that does not have all these vitamins.
Same im trying to overdose my self on my gummy vitamins
Dr Mike has way too high of confidence in doctors, IMO. My doctors have never tested me for deficiency in anything, even though I’m on multiple prescription meds that are known to deplete a list of vitamins and minerals. I had to practically beg to get a test for my vitamin D level (which would have been deficient except that I was already supplementing at that point based on educating myself about my medications). Nope, I think Dr Mike has good input on many topics but I think he’s living in a fairytale on this one. I’m going to keep educating myself and begging my doctor, if I have to, to get proper testing. I’ll keep eating healthy, exercising, and supplementing to bridge the gap.
“raises hand” but veganism is not a diet. What you meant was “plant based” and no, it is not restrictive at all, lets stop spreading further misinformation Mike.
I find that taking Vitamin B really helps with stress management at work. Really notice a difference when I do take them and I don’t.
And yet geniuses such as Ray Kurzweil takes hundreds of supplements!By saying that I’m not advocating supplements just pointing it out its not all just crackpots!
My boyfriend takes so many vitamins every day, I get the vitamin d3, pretty much everyone in my country has vitamin d3 deficiency because there isn’t enough sun. But I don’t get why he’s taking all the other stuff, he even told me that I should go on vitamin d3 because I am always tired, but I don’t wanna spend money on something that I don’t even understand…
I just clicked on this video and my first ad is for personalized vitamins
I’ve got a lot of deficiencies so I have a lot of vitamins and supplements. It’s not even about how I look. And to tell you honestly, they do help.
So many people order American vitamins from various websites because they believe they are of better quality and have no idea about the lack of regulation in that area. I can’t really get this obsession with supplements.
Hey! What about omega 3 capsules? Some say we should take it every day, is it healthy?
I never take vitamins only vitamine D during fall and wintertime. I tried multiple times to take multivitamines but for some reason it made me feel sick I even tried the vegan ones but with the same result so no vitamins for me except the for D.
Dr tell us the specific name of multivitamin product please?
im on warrior diet 2-22… and i AGREE… there is no need for multivitamins.. only benefits are expensive pee and bloated stomach
Dr. Mike could you please talk about Omega 3 supplements and vitamin D for countries where there’s little sun? (UK, for example)
Multivitamins do work when you need them. Too many people already get what they need from food and sun, but still take vitamins and when they dont see a difference they just whine.
What he is saying is actually correct. get a blood test, check which vitamins/minerals ur deficient in and just buy those ones
That’s why his don’t don’t sell not even at the dollar general stores
oh wait… your body can’t absorb any synthetic vitamins why do you think they are so ridiculously overdosed.
I picked up men’s strawberry multi vitamin not gluten free & didn’t need the extra sugar smh
I started having leg cramps every night so I assumed I was low in potassium. I tried bananas first as well as hydrating well and it didn’t help so I got a multivitamin. It sounds like I was wrong in doing this. I would love suggestions.
Just wanted to see how they look before I purchase them! Going to cop the strawberry ones!
