Thanks for the video, but once you heat up the milk over 190 ‘F it kills all I mean all nothing will be left and then you have to add culture witch is full of good bacteria then it will become a yogurt.
So it doesn’t matter organic or not organic milk as long as you don’t add anything to it.
But organic milk is good when you drink that milk.

I like your channel a lot. But as a microbiologist I have to note that sugars in yogurt don’t kill bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria grow well in presence of sugars. If you mean that products of lactic acid fermentation may cause bacteria to die than I think that if you do not consume stale dated yogurt you should be fine.

There’s this yogurt company called “Oikos.” I eat the “triple zero” one, it’s where there zero fat, zero added sugar, and zero artificial. It’s sweetened with stevia and tastes really great. I would really recommend; they have a variety of flavors. Also, I just wanted to ask, but does heavy whipping cream contain transfat (the mono-diglycerides)?

I think what also helps is not buying the junk foods and keeping your fridge stocked. During quarantine I’ve been going to the grocery store less than every two weeks trying to buy mostly fresh foods. I will freeze what I can’t use up to prevent waste and eat it a diff day.
If I want cookies i will make them myself, instead of buying them. Especially during quarantine, I’ve personally had so much extra time to put into my nutrition. Check out their daily work outs on Instagram, they’re so fun. I look forward to them!

Oikos triple zero greek yogurt needs a mention. Much better than those noosa & other popular brands (activia?).
There are times when body does not need those high calorie heavy fats. e.g. pre-workout or post-workout. Organic + grass-fed is a formula for skyrocketing prices. Greek is already expensive to begin with.
I eat yogurt, especially greek one mainly for protein. And to some extent pro-biotics and calcium. Not for omega3 I got Salmon/pills for that:)

I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches I used to eat them when I lived in Florida
I use to think I needed to stick to a diet to be healthy but thankfully I’m getting rid of that mindset. Autumn can you please help me? Probably a stupid question, but…does adding Mio to my water break my fast? I’ve been 100% adhering to 16/8 IF, also sprinkling in some 20/4 days, and doing this for 6 months. Start weight 272lbs and now I’m 226lbs. However I drink water with Mio. I’ve seen good results but after finding your channel I’m very curious if the Mio needs to go (at least during my fast). Thank you for your help, inspiration and guidance. Personally, I don’t think fattier foods give me more satiety than “bulky” foods. This is the reason why I quit keto and lowered fat in order to increase whole food carbs. My meals are bigger now and I can go several hours without hunger. This thing of drinking oils to satiate hunger sounds like a myth to me; 150 calories of oil added to my plate doesn’t fill or satisfy me like 150 calories of beans do.
I eat Stonyfield and Greenwise organic yogurt all the time. Almost on daily basis for breakfast for last few months. I mix a lot of different things into it though. Nuts, chia seeds, bee pollen, oats. I make it into a superfood.

cardio = cardiovascular exercise. Cardio is good for improving overall cardiovascular health. It may not make you look good, but your heart will thank you when you’re older. Don’t completely eliminate it!

A friend forwarded your link. I am enjoying your energy and knowledge. Recently I got hooked on Labne (kefir cheese ) so I replaced my yogurt with it. The Labne was recommended by my Syrian friend who grew up on it. Have you eaten it. I just checked label and it says…. Real California Milk? What could that mean. There are a few brands like Victor’s and Karoun. I have to get it at a local Middle Eastern grocer of which there are 3 in Watertown,MA.
‘Grass Fed’ is not absolutely necessary. You can still lose weight eating any healthy proteins and fats. ‘Grass Fed’ = expensive and not everyone can afford that nor can everyone even find that in their grocery stores. I can honestly say that in SE Michigan, I can’t recall ever seeing anything grass fed in my local stores.

Actually strained yogurt is higher in fat content over protein, the protein is in the whey which is strained off.

Hellim is the Turkish name for Halloumi cheese. Turkish Cypriot is where it originated from. It is very popular in Turkey. You can find it in many restaurants served

Lactobacillus eats uses lactose, a type of sugar, to create yogurt. Bacteria is somehow not killed by the sugar intrinsic to fruit, but it is killed by added sugar? I think you’re oversimplifying to the point where the information that you’re presenting is inaccurate. In the case of yogurt and fermented foods, sugar feeds bacteria. When making coconut milk yogurt, sugar is added because coconut is naturally low in sugar and the bacteria need a sugar to feast on to make their acid. Sugar can act as a food preservative (i.e. slow bacterial growth) due to its hydroscopic properties, but I don’t think that’s an issue with the types of bacteria found in a commercial yogurt cup. Correct me if I’m wrong…

I’ve ben eating this way for over 35 years and people are always amazed that i look half my age, never need coffee for energy and have never relied on alcohol to have fun (never been drunk) and they always wanna blame how i look and feel on my genetics when both my parents died of ill health in their 40s so no, your health is 100% in your hands and takes consistent discipline and a love of self to achieve. I’m originally American but have been living forever in Israel, and dairy products are fantastic here. And as an FYI from a “native” speaker, it’s labaneh, with the emphasis on the lah! I eat it almost every day for breakfast with an Israeli-style salad, use it as the dressing with lots of black pepper and a spoonful of zchug.
Thanks again, and haloumi does rock! We grill it like steak on a ribbed pan and serve it up with salad, a typical Israeli supper.

Such high amount of carbs with fat as in some Dairy turn off that fat burning mechanism*, So true Autumn. High Carbs induce the body to store fat. I love low carb dairy but never forget to read labels… Either CARBY or FATTY… choose one never both.

I made my own yogurt with A2 milk in my Instapot, very easy.
I have to confess, the habit of companies and people in the US to state calories, carbs and so on per serving size mildly annoys me ^^ I understand that it might help to get a quick overview of “how much calories and so on am I consuming if I eat this” (IF people really only consume one serving size, which I kind of doubt) but it makes comparing the nutritional value of different food options way harder. And it makes grocery shopping way more difficult.
For example: I love hot sauce. In order to keep my sugar intake low, I used to buy only those that have less than 3g of sugar on 100ml of sauce. In Europe that was easy to do, because all food products are required to state the nutrition facts per 100g/ml. Now I live in Canada and 90% of hot sauce I find states “0g of sugar” even though there’s sugar listed in the ingredient list. But since a serving size is only a spoon full, it won’t show up on the nutrition list:-/
And before people complain: Yes, I know that there are hot sauce options without added sugars:-P It was just meant as an example but is true for a lot of different food items.

High intensity work outs helps you burn fat more than lifting. Lifting helps you build muscle and burns calories but not as much as cardio. Burning calories is the key to weight loss. You should be doing both.

unfortunately we gain weight because we have a sluggish or stagnant liver. and what causes that is a high fat high protein diet over the years so i would like to suggest looking into Medical Medium’s information and books there’s no guessing games with his information. i’ve been losing weight while healing from a couple symptoms like anxiety, fatigue & brain fog & haven’t even had to work out lol also fruit is sooo important, it’s anti aging! and i’ve been struggling for 3 yrs trying everything to lose weight including keto. and have lost so much weight within 1 month it’s crazy, and i’m eating more! my fav books from Medical Medium are ‘Cleanse to Heal’ and ‘Life Changing Foods’

I’ve been waiting for this! My eating habits have been out all of sync since quarantine started and I started to eat really unhealthy, processed, fatty foods to deal with the stress. I’m ready to get back on track though!
For toddlers yogurt, it is not easy to feed from a 24 oz Organic Valley Grass fed and then put rest in the refrigerator to be used next day. It is difficult to pack for day care or school. I have never seen Stonyfeld organic 100% grass-fed Greek yogurt anywhere. Sad but true, have to stick to Yoplait or Activia multi-pack options just because of the daily use size and taste preferred by kids. Experimented with siggi’s Icelandic yogurt, though expensive, kids were receptive but didn’t like the thick texture. If you are a mom, you will know how tough it is to be a mom.

Oh girl I thought I was the only one that does this. It is for sure the easiest to copy the meals and eat the same for as long as I can until I get sick of it.
You should have mentioned that in connection with dairy it is not only lactose that can cause issues but alpha s1 casein, too. Lots of people cannot tolerate it. And lots of people think they have problem with lactose when in fact they have problem with this.
I’ve been struggling getting my body back in like the last year.. but this def gave me some motivation to get back into it and just go hard❤️❤️ i appreciate you babe! Keep inspiring!
