Rummo is the best vegan gf pastayou cant tell it’s GF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how chill you guys are when people complain about your sharing food and eating after each other. He he you look old enough to make your own decisions.
Maybe the banza is crumbly bc of the shape you bought. I feel like the penne would keep the shape better or one of the thicker shapes.
I think I’ll try quinoa noodles.. I try to avoid anything bready because I know it just isn’t the same without gluten ;-;
Wow! That looks fabulous! Can you replace the eggs with oil or do you absolutely have to have the eggs?
Hi Paul, can you please recommend a substitution for the corn meal? 2 kiddos are allergic to corn. Your pasta looks fabulous!!
they should try to make lentil pasta with other flours, maybe with rice/corn flour
Jessie is my hero and I cook solo every day so I have a new cookbook to buy!
Please try DeBoles artichoke pasta. Tastes (to me) like normal pasta. Love the angel hair cooks fast! I was a fussy eater, as a kid, and still am, as an old person. But I do like their pasta.
These kinds of trying new food videos require a little maturity and an open mind. People are so attached to their concepts. Pasta is just a concept, not the truth. So it’s allowed to evolve and change into whatever else people decide to turn it into. You grown women are so closed minded and judgmental and act like teenagers saying “ewwww gross!” at anything that doesn’t fit your mental concept. Grow up.
Hello….why even state the protein per serving if your not going to tell us the serving size..details ladies
The black bean pasta makes an amazing southwestern style pasta salad with corn, avocado, tomato and a vegan chipotle mayo. Super good!
The vocal fry on these women is just horrible. I’m from Europe and having to hear this kind of English is just plain torture.
I’ve been making egg noodles for years. Thank you so much for sharing this. Now I can make gluten free noodles!
Totally agree on the TJ’s red lentil. Did not like it at all.
gonna try the edamame pasta…have been using chickpea pasta a bit and it’s delicious with olive oil, salt and pepper, little garlic powder with cashew crumble (ground up cashews, nutritional yeast and salt)…when i’m in a rush, its my easy go to. I always rinse it in cold water after boiling…if you overdo it, it’ll get filmy…never had the wheel pasta before, but have all the others and they don’t fall apart. very helpful video to see what i’ve been missing! ps family and close friends sometimes share food/containers, geeze…kinda sad people gave you a hard time
Vegan over six years and I prefer whole wheat pasta. I prefer to eat lentils as lentils. Alternative pastas tend to be chewy or crumbly. I put tons of veggies in my pasta sauce and rationalize the use of regular pasta. I don’t eat pasta on a daily basis, so I allow myself to eat regular pasta and make the sauce as healthy as possible.
You ladies are so gorgeous and I loved the video! Very helpful. I love Banza’s spaghetti:)
Who would love to just sink their teeth into a nice, juicy, medium-rare serloin steak? Mmmmm it makes I mouth water just thinking of the taste.. add a little bit of hot sauce for dipping and oh my…
Or maybe some nice juicy chicken? I prefer chicken lags over wings but man are they both so good…
Humans have canine teeth for a reason… that’s for tearing apart flesh and meat… not eating grass and weeds..
Just take a pice of steak one day and try it.. it won’t hurt eating just one piece… you won’t regret it
Nice taste tests! BUT if you liked Tinkyada you would LOVE Sam Mill’s Pasta D’Oro
-it is by far the best of all those you tried. I guarantee it. It’s made from cornjust one ingredient. 190 cals per 55g, Protein 3g, Carb 44g, Sodium O, Total fat 0.5g, Total sugars less than 1g. Of course it is hard to get since most people are so afraid of carbs, but it is the best tasting and easiest to digest gluten free pasta I or my clients have ever tried. And no I am not a Sam’s Mills salesperson lol! Been vegan since 1985 however. Raw since 2001. The only time I ever eat cooked is once or twice per year and I have a small portion of Sam’s Mills Pasta D’Oro corn pastaso if I only have a little cooked food once or twice a year you know I am particular….The girl on left’s facial expression is so funny. She’s so not feeling these
Since durum is wheat and all wheat has gluten I am a bit confused. But I am probably too literal minded. All your other samples are gluten free so gluten avoiders are happy. Vegan for six years it is always interesting to find out about other foods I could eat. My favorite pasta is the brown rice pasta like the brand you guys tried. So based on your taste test I plan no changes. I think talking about nutrition requires a whole diet approach. For breakfast I had 2 heads of butter lettuce, 20 grape tomatoes, 1 lb of cooked green peas with 1 onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Lots of nutrients but eating a lot of “low nutrient” brown rice would give me the fuel nutrient that my 6 foot tall body needs to operate.
Thank you guys so much. I’ve had weight-loss surgery and now regular pasta just doesn’t sit well with me at all. I’m looking for a healthy alternative!
GoGo Quinoa pasta from Costco! Although the other day when I was there they didn’t have anymore. I did pick up the Banza Chickpea pasta the other day at my local market. Happy to see you guys liked it as I haven’t made it yet.:) Great vid!
Edamame pasta is made in China. How is that sustainable? And who certifies it?
Thanx for trying them so I didn’t have to suffer like you guys did
The Battle of The Pastas
Coming out soon Aug.9th on DVD and Blu-Ray
In Theaters soon
Just starting a gluten free diet, but I would probably say that unfortunately the best and most realistic GF pastas are the least nutritious ones, such as ones based on corn and rice.
“It smells like UC Berkeley campus” Your chemistry together and honesty about less healthy eating habits (loving white pasta) makes you much more relatable and thus easier to watch and trust your opinions and advice.
Great video! I developed a gluten sensitivity over a decade ago and needed to find a non-wheat pasta. I tried corn pasta, but it’s not like regular pasta at all. Big thumbs down. Then I tried Tinkyada and that was it! It is the closest to regular pasta in my opinion. I was happy to see you both liked it. I’m trying to switch it up a bit, but nothing else in the video seemed to be worth the switch. I haven’t tried quinoa pasta, but I guess I’ll stick with Tinkyada or Trader Joes’ penne version which is comparable, organic, and cheaper!
I love Toni’s faces. Thanks ladies for suffering so we don’t have to.
The dill scent and lemon are refreshing and perfect for summer ♪ I want to eat with cold wine! It looks very delicious ☺
I have got to get me a pasta machine to make GF noodles! I used to eat homemade pasta noodles at a friend’s house when I was a girl. It was a family activity, just as you suggested. I still remember how good those oodles of noodles were. Thanks for another great video!
Do you have a favorite alternative pasta? We’d love to hear what it is!! -Michelle:)
I love the Trader Joe’s red lentil sedanini cooked with garlic, tomato sauce, spinach, and cheese, though I haven’t tried it with a vegan cheese. It’s one of my favorite dishes.
First I love your channel!! Im still struggling with transitioning to being full vegan. I love pasta!! Do you know if the Barilla pasta brand is vegan? I have been getting that brand lately!
Thanks for trying all these! You could even put “gluten free” in your video title or tag it because all of these except the whole wheat were GF. As a vegan by choice and now recently GF by necessity, I realize how much overlap there is in the gluten free and vegan communities. I agree that all the legume-based pastas are crumbly! I think I’d rather just eat legumes as legumes… =)
I love the Trader Joe’s brown rice pasta and it’s pretty cheap too:)
I appreciate your review of these products. Although, I have not tried any as yet, I likely go with BANZA. I love chickpeas in just about any way you can prepare them.
Jovial Foods has the BEST pasta. Really similar in texture and flavor to traditional semolina wheat pasta, holds up well in all sorts of dishes, and a nice GF option
What is the best vegan cheese powder for making mac and cheese?
i love eat banza! 2nd fave after just regular pasta for sure
Agree on the edamame. It was like chewing on rubber bands. I would rather eat less pasta and go for the white pasta. Great video.
Toni bouncing in the chair constantly was very distracting. Looks like she was having an off day.
Sharing food with a close friend it’s no big deal as long as y’all are healthy do what you wanna do!Forget what people say in the comments even though I’m writing a comment LOL.
YES! I can’t wait to try this I’m sure the restaurant store will have a pasta maker. THANK YOU!
What a great video idea! Who knew there were so many (vegan) pasta options
Thanks for the product reviews. I really appreciate all this information.
Very helpful! I have tried a few alternative pastas with mixed results so I appreciate your reviews!
Toni’s Youtube channel wasn’t linked! I’d love to check it out:)
My pasta machine is packed. Tried to findthe box it is in, stilllooking. ut made this androlled out for wide noodles. These are great. Thanks! Do you know if you can use the noodles in something like tuna noodle casserole? Wondering ifthey will hold up while baking.
I make banza often, and I find it really easy to overcook. I usually cook it for 6 minutes and rinse with cold water after. This gives it a much better al dente texture.
I’ve only had the regular and whole wheat pasta. Price will be a deciding factor as to if I try any of the alternative pastas. The extra protein is cool though.
#WellGoodSquad!!!♀️ Omg that Look’s delicious and I want some Now. lol Definitely going to make this. ✔
Im watching beacuse I just ate Red Lentils pasta, and its terrible lol.
