Really helpful video, thank you so much!
Would you recommend a apple watch even I have a Android phone? I do wear the fitbit versa now and think about switch to garmin vivo active 4. What do you think about? and do you think these 100 CHF more for vivoactive 4 is necessary or is the active 3 as good as 4?
Thank you so much for answering!
Ha sido un video muy útil, este canal es recomendable ya que agrega contenido que verdaderamente es necesario.
I got the Versa Lite for Christmas and it does exactly what I need i love it! I wish I could afford one of the Samsung watches though
Hello thanks for your reviews.
But I have a question regarding garmin vivoactive 4 & venue
You said they are not that good in gym tracking.
Is there’s any way to overcome this if I’m gonna by one of them.
Regards
Thanks for the list Eric. Would you consider the Venu to be swappable with the VA4 on your list since they are basically the same sensors?
What are your opinions on the charge 3, I checked your description and charge 3 was no where to be seen
Debating between the venu and vivoactive 4. What made you guys choose the vivoactive over the venu?
Thanks!
I moved from a Garmin Vivoactive 3 to the Apple Watch 5 and I have to say as a runner the HRM is pretty darn accurate. I do lots of cardio centric activities and don’t see a huge difference from garmin to Apple.
Fitbit Versa doesn’t last. Screen was twitching uncontrollably, they sent us a replacement under warranty. It died later too (within months). Complete junk. Like throwing money out the window.
I’m really stuck on the Garmin Vivoactive 4 or the Amazfit Stratos 3. Any opinions?
Hey Eric, great content. What about the galaxy active2 and the Fitbit versa 2 have you had the chance to try those?
Super helpful reviews! Thanks Eric:) I was wondering if you’ve tested the fitbit versa 2?
Garmin quality does not surprise me. My boyfriend and I have been used 6 different handheld gpsr models since 2003. We geocache and that has us bolder climbing, crawling around etc.. my unit is on a lanyard around my neck regularly bouncing off boulders and rocks and never have I had one give out. We always got new ones due to updated technology. I had a Fitbit charge2 HR for about 1 1/2 years. It did okay when I was doing steady exercise. Hiit, forget it. When your working your butt off doing burpees and you look down and its flatlined blah. I got the vivoactive 4s in december thinking I could wear my chest strap for an accurate HR. Nope. Don’t need it. This watch totally keeps up with me going from rowing to kb swings to burpees! I’m SOLD!
Good video. I think you do some of the best YouTube review videos for fitness trackers.
HI GOOD FRND IS THERE ANY RIGHT ACCURATE AND EXACTLY WHICH SHOW ALL AND EVERYTHING IN RIGHT WAY AMOUNT OF MY WHOLE BODY IS THERE ANY BODY FAT ANALYZER DIGITAL SCALE MACHINE UNDER BELOW 35 OR 40 DOLLARS
PLZ TELL ME THE VERY VERY BEST RIGHT ACCURATE AND EXACT MY FRND OK
Surprised that the galaxy watch active 2 didn’t make the cut!
I find that most hr sensors are not bad while at rest, but start to give wrong numbers when you’re active.
Excellent video, really it is the most valuable, important and informational video.
100% Respect! The video doesn’t correlate with my interest but pure respect, expecially for starting the video with the limitation list. This is perfectionism. I liked it.
I’m a gym rat but also an avid mountain biker, gravel cyclist and trail runner/ hiker. I have been with Polar HRM watches for over 15 years but I’ve given up after my M600 issues. I was thinking of the Garmin 645 or the Vivoactive. I want an all day wear watch that doesn’t look to bulky like older HRM watches.
that dude freaks me out… can you be more… idk… human? and less skynet?
I’m in the market for a new fitness tracker. I was looking into the Garmin Vivomove 3S. This video helps a lot actually because the Vivoactive is pretty similar.
great picks. if you get the chance, can you suggest some gimbals for phones? thanks.
I got the Garmin vivoactive and it was so buggy I returned it. The weather apps kept saying 10 degrees colder, the watch faces corrupted, the Garmin pay kept saying the password was wrong, you could only download a total of 16 apps or watch faces. I ended up buying an Apple Watch and I’m really happy with it.
I read the garmins are shit for sleep tracking, is that their weak link?
nice summary Eric… Im still rocking an amazfit stratos, based on your review. love it on the hike trails and backpacking with GPS. I might pick up a garmin instinct, but my year old stratos is still going strong.
Nice job Eric. Look8ng forward to your Suunto 7 review. Hopefully, it can be the ‘Apple Watch’ of Wear OS.
For swimming, crossfit and Nordic Walking, what about Polar Vantage V compared to Ignite!? which one should I go with!? ♂️ any advice?!
The second downside of AW 5 is absolutely poor battery life; as poor as a lifespan of a butterfly.
Hey Matt! Which tracker has the best/ most accurate sleep tracker?
will you make a review on Huawei GT2? Why not garmin venu instead of vivoactive 4? Venu has a better display.
Excellent video as usual.
I’ve been looking for a wearable that’s more durable than the Apple Watch and the landscape can get confusing.
Accordingly to DCR comparison, AW 4 and AW5 (after update) still have the best HR sensor for workouts. Vivoactive 4 (and Venu) sucks for this category of exercise, unfortunately.
The Apple watch is a fail, to me, due to cost, and that it only works with a iPhone. The vivoactive, being touchscreen, isn’t conducive for sweat, or rain, but l could be wrong. What about the Garmin 245? Apart from no altimeter, it’s great. Good review.
You have the best reviews on fitness trackers. Will you make a review on galaxy watch active 2? I’m really looking forward to see it because of your review on how the hr sensor perform in the gym.
I’ve got the vivoactive 3, great watch, GPS doesn’t lose signal even in the woods mountain biking. Used it for 6 months now, very happy with.
what do you think about the Garmin venu and the polar vantage m?
AAFES has the Garmin Forerunner 935 on sale for $230. Should I jump on it?
Great video the only comment I would make is that you don’t get the same ability with the Apple watch across Android and iOS
So awesome. Love your amazing channel. Just liked and subscribed, hope u do the same. Thanks
Glad the vivoactive 4 made the list. I would never buy an Apple product. Decided to go with Vivoactive 4 and really love the watch. Nice design and build. Could be a bit better on the smart side but excellent fitness watch with accurate metrics.
For tou, what’s the best sleeping tracker and fitness tracker? Could be the same? Thanks
I have had a few Fitbits in my day, then switched to Garmin, and had an apple watch… and then ended up buying an off brand from Amazon (Mgaloo) for less than $50 and honestly, the the off brand is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It has all the features of any higher end fitness tracker such as steps, GPS, alerts, HR… Plus blood oxygen levels and blood pressure, as well as being waterproof.
The off brands have apps that are less bells and whistles, but it’s by far the best value for me.
Thanks for the video, it’s nice to see where the more expensive devices are sitting.
Do you find with the watches with GPS give a more accurate step count then let’s say the Fitbit charge 3 that relies more on vibration?
I’ve always been tempted by the Garmin Fenix 5 series, but aren’t too sure if it’s going to give me the satisfaction that my Apple Watch 4 does. When I plan on doing more outdoor things, that’s probably going to sway me more to the Garmin.
The Stratos is a sleeper hit on this list. People should definitely take a look at it.
Great video as usual.

Thanks. On the Series 4 right now. Vivoactive 4 a good upgrade?
I really like this video and explain beautifully and in detail about Best Budget Fitness Trackers in 2020. thank you so much for sharing..
Hi Eric, what fitness watch would you recoment for crossfit trainings?
How’s the vivo active 4 battery life? Also, can you respond to text messages?
I have the samsung Gear and love it. The ability to use just the GPS without a phone makes this a must have for fitness.
Great video, as always!
Did you test sleep monitoring on the vivoactive 4? I’ve heard that that is its weak link. Thoughts?
Surprisingly, I bought the Amazfit from Amazon and I only charge once a month! Love the weather features, sleep diagnosis, and so much more…my only problem is step counter is never right! But for the price I didn’t mind…since I figured out it is 1/2 off step count, I double it for accuracy and dont need a secondary pedometer.
I really wish Fitbit would make a military grade fitness tracker! Hubs works for a delivery company so he is really hard on them and he generally only gets a couple of years out of one.
Geesh, I’ve been shopping for a REPLACEMENT for 2 months now trying to make a decision. Thank you so much for the help!!! I actually was considering the Vivoactive 3 because of the GPS feature. Going to Matt’s Daily Deals NOW.
Thanks for the continued context hope you and your family are well during these times.
Awesome tips, I do have a galaxy watch for over 2 years now and I bought it used for $100 bucks. It still works fantastic and I couldn’t have got anything better for the price, the Garmin Vivoactive got me to think about a little upgrade based on the sports modes capabilities. Thank you for the video, keep up the good work!
I am still using the activity tracker you suggested 2 years ago. still a great watch if you need something basic. From the looks of it the $45 watch uses the same but updated color UI.
My hubby bought Yamay smart watches for us. Neither one accurately tracked our steps. We are sending them back.
I just don’t understand why you’re not over a million subscriber yet. This is some of the best content on YouTube salute my friend you do an excellent job and I respect and trust your decision-making. I’m looking for another fitness tracker and this helps me explore options I didn’t even know about thanks again. Memphis TN Supports you. Also I would like your opinion on a mavic air 2 drone. When you have time.
Hi Eric, I was curious if you’ve tested the Fenix 6 yet or plan to this year? Thank you for all the great videos and content, really appreciate all the effort and time this probably takes!!!
I’ve had my Vivoactive 4 for 2 months now and I’m freaking loving it, it’s awesome. Just convinced my mom to buy one too yesterday to motivate her to be more active:) Btw I use it all day everyday for notification management, water intake & cycle tracking, checking my HR, body battery and all the other things it monitors and I do cca 3-4 one hour long GPS activities Mon-Fri + a few hours long hike on the weekends and 2-3 non-GPS activities per week and the battery life is still quite impressive.
So..I picked up a Venu to try out comparing it to my series 4 and it’s sketchy man. Gym based exercises and high intensity it can’t keep up at all. I didn’t get the same results as you did with gym based exercises.
I’ve been binging your videos and a few others for the past few days, trying to decide on a fitness tracker. I’m still trying to decide on my final decision but this list was really helpful, I was happy to see that the Vivoactive 4 made it so high on your list. Thanks for all the reviews!

I just want heart rate, sleep monitor, and a really good gps! Do the watch gps’s work good in the middle of nowhere? Are they as good as the handheld gps that people use on quads and dirt bikes? Can you actually see the roads and trails on them?
I just found you. I sure wish I’d seen you earlier. Yes I was that person that wanted the smart watch for Mother’s Day. I once was a android person, till switching with daughter. She got me the Apple 5 series 44 mm. I wish I would’ve known about the android watch you just showed. The one that can connect to Apple. I can tell already I’ve messed up. Thanks for all your hard work.
