I’ve been eyeing some Path gear for a while now. Could I ask if there’s only a ‘watch hole’ on the left hand sleeve? I’m left handed and wear my watch on my right hand. I’ve tried wearing it on my left but it just feels alien to me. If the hole left hand only then I may just go for some of their shorts. Thanks!
The way you dusted JM…gotta get these! This winter has been full of these days cold but not really so. Dressing is tricky so as not to sweat.
There’s also tights with normal pants cut so you don’t get the bulge problem like with the underwear style tights. The non-bulging tights are my go to cold weather gear.
It’s amazing how people can run having things in the front pockets. I personally only can store small stuff in the back middle pocket while running.
Love path projects. I have IPhone 11 with otter box case and it’s a no go in the back pocket. Do you find it fits in both shorts graves and skyes? Thanks
Great review! I need to figure out how to run my kids to school. Do you walk with them to drop off and then do a longer loop home? Just need to find the time to sneak in those miles.
I love these shorts too! By far the best pair of running shorts I’ve ever owned. The feel of the fabric is awesome, and the 4 stretch pockets + 1 zip pocket is perfect for long trail runs or for all your marathon nutrition. btw I own the 3 inch which are great for road racing. I am gonna get the 5 inch pair soon… I hope. The high price is the one sticking point of the shorts. Great review Jamie!
I’m definitely liking the look, and along with your description of feel and functionality my curiosity is extremely heightened. However, my penny pinching “hobby” budget will not currently allow a new wardrobe. My question is this, between the Janji and the Path Project apparel you’ve tested/reviewed, which brand would you most recommend and support based on brand business model, fit and functionality, and price point?
When are you hopping on the Atreyu train? The subscription is interesting the people need to know your thoughts.
Do these shorts have any sort of internal brief? I know they do not have a base layer, but wondering about brief vs. briefless.
Not tried the shorts yet but the hoody is almost too good to run in. It’s so comfy, so practical and also the extra neck coverage when the hood is up, is also nice. Traveling anywhere, especially on long haul flights, this hoody is amazing!!! Only down side is this hoody is so nice, I wear it to work more than I do on runs. But hey-ho.
Heck ya man love all of path projects stuff. Extremely comfortable and functional. Can’t get enough of it.
Do the nike infinity react soon thanks. Love the videos keep up the good work.
The zipper direction is genius. Always a struggle and I have never even thought of it as a solution haha!
It’s amazing how few running shorts are good for holding stuff for outdoor runs. Thanks for reviewing these!
My god… the worst shorts… pocket in front to fry the genitals with smartphone signal and bluetoot:-(
Great detailed review Kofuzi, glad you are enjoying our gear!
Thoughts on sizing?
Looks like I’d be on the fence between small and medium.
PATH Projects shorts are great. Material is high quality and the build is perfect for running. If I could afford more of their clothes I would buy more and replace some stuff from more big name brand running companies. Oh and the separate liners are phenomenal. I do wish they had actual pants, not just long liners. And they hopefully will have women’s clothes at some point.
They look good, thanks for sharing Jamie. I like my Salomon tight (lycra) shorts too much though.
I may have to look at those the next time I need shorts. I bought 5.11 shorts because they were clearing them out for around $8. No zippers, but the pockets are deep so they hold my phone without any issue.
Great review. I am a Path Projects fan. Also, learned of the brand through Billy Yang’s video. I have the Syke’s and Graves shorts. Both are great but Graves is my go to shorts because of pockets. I also have the hoodie which is a favorite as well. Your descriptions are spot on. Looking forward to purchase their shirts next.
Thanks for the review. I got some Path shorts and liners after watching the same Billy Yang video. Since I travel a lot for work, it really helps having the separate base liners. It’s my go to shorts for races as it can hold all my gels and key.
I’ve always thought wearing shorts over tights didn’t make any sense. But your video blew my mind! Crazy… such a simple thing but sometimes you need another perspective. I’ve only been run commuting for few months but will for sure look into getting a pair of shorts to use those days when I need to drop off my kid to daycare or pick him up. I don’t yet do doubles for the run commute so I’ve only ran home or ran to work depending on the morning or afternoon schedule. The shorts you reviewed here look very interesting. Thanks!
I feel attacked and old with that robin hood men in tights reference.
This question might be a bit late have you tried their running hats and how do like them? I’m thinking whether to get one of them or the Ciele’s. Thanks man!
Been eyeing these. Thanks for the review. Also, didn’t notice before, but was that your phone that dropped racing Jami?
Nice review, dude… thanks. Just ordered a pair of the 5″ variety.
I’ve got a few pairs, great shorts.. love the Zip design as well. up to down.
Man, I wish I knew this a couple of weeks ago! I scoured eBay & Poshmark buying up all the Lululemon Switch Up 7” linerless shorts (they are discontinued). They’re very similar in features to the Path Projects shorts you showed here. I’ll keep these in mind for the future It seems we’re in the minority in looking for linerless running shorts with zippered pockets!
The clothing reminds me of Janji, which has been my recent go-to clothing. I know you reviewed the Janji some months ago, how would you compare the two brands as far as fit and comfort??
I also hate short shorts and go for the 2XU compression. Find it hard getting longer womens shorts sometimes
Happy to see you finally got your hands on some PP! In all seriousness though, I think you and Gingerrunner first peaked my curiosity w/ Janji, but after Billy and Floris were talking about Path, I made the switch and may give the edge towards them. Overall, I think it’s awesome to have both companies in my rotation as it feels really great to support the smaller guys who do good for the running community.
Billy Yang’s suggestion of rinsing the base liner in the sink and air drying is working well for me-and helping to justify the relatively high price point.
woah, hold up, was that a fresh foam tempo? excited for that video!
These shorts look great.. if only they made the liner inside of the shorts I could use for racing mainly for those pockets! I think having a separate liner and shorts on top would make things too hot down there… Only short I’ve found with a generous amount of pockets and liner is the brooks sherpa. Have you found anything like that?
I also think the liner-less shorts play to runners doing ultra races where the liners in the shorts may cause chaffing. The base liner helps a ton!
How are these shorts with regards to wicking and drying quickly?
great review! no logos is a plus. color palette is a plus. the utility of the shorts look great.
what running backpack is that & does it come in black?
