Help!!!! Just diagnosed with Cervicogenic headaches. Please tell me what to do. God bless you both for all you do. Shalom….Beverly
How about the brace slowly sliding down your leg. I walk 2.5 km every day and I have to stop and adjust the brace at least 2
4 times on the walk
doc can I ask can you practice kicking a bag, with a knee brace with the metal hinges?
I’m a 13 year old soccer player, and i’ll have to wear a knee brace every day. When i’m at soccer practice, at school and even when i’m with my friends in town. I have one of those normal braces, who stabilizes my knee cap and it is 10 centimeters below and above my knee cap. I’m at the hospital 2 times a week to PT. 3 weeks ago i dislocated my knee cap, and i couldn’t bend my leg for 5 loong days. There’s nothing that can help with my pain and i need another program for PT.
I ended up in the emergency room yesterday, because i messed up my ankle at practice on thursday without knowing. So i’m not allowed to play soccer in a week. This is the 3rd time this year my doctor has banned me to play. The first time (february 26) was 6 loong weeks without practice, the next time (april 29) was only 1 week, and now the 3rd time (may 23) is 1 week.
Great information guys, I really need this. By the way first Brad with his singlet now Bob flashing his sporty black shorts, my wife can’t take it.
A coworker recommended Back on Track knee braces, but I read a summary of what they do, and I don’t think it will work for me. I have prepateller (sp?) bursitis. It flares up every few years or so (particularly after a long period of sedentary lifestyle and not enough going to the gym to stay strong). For bursitis, I’ve always been told RICE rest, ice, compression, elevation. The back on track braces (and some of the other braces on the market) are too warm. Back on Track in particular is designed to trap your body heat and radiate it back through the joint, which probably helps arthritis patients, but could only worsen knee bursitis which only improves when you put ice packs on it. I have a basic knee wrap that has a gel pack I can put in my freezer, but is there anything else available, that doesn’t have a bulky ice pack, that would work well for day to day activities? I’m back at work and it’s not convenient to carry and ice pack around with me all day.
Can you deadlift in this brace? Does it eliminate the knee pain which I experience only when I deadlift and only in my right knee.
Hello bob and brad… I have the one which has got hinges only on lateral side.. is that okay?
The copper braces are so lame, pardon the pun. For me, they just don’t work. It is very difficult to find braces that are comfortable and that work. At this point, I refuse to wear a brace outside my clothing when I go out.
I had my first knee surgery for a torn meniscus, and had to have about 1/4 of it removed. https://for-knees.com/knee-brace-review/
They are so funny, informative, and intelligent. They are much better than average PTs.
How are semi-recumbent bikes for knees that are in pain? A good idea?
Thank you for making this video. I have the bone on bone arthritis and am a very large woman. Pain is tremendous. Going to try a knee brace.
I’m having trouble finding the episode where you referenced a particular heating pad that produced deeper heat penetration than the average heating pad. I’m hoping you can share the product name and advise if it is available on Amazon. Thanks so much.
I had incredible pain in my left leg and it could not bare weight. The doctors and surgeons did not know what to do and so they gave me this huge, full length leg brace with these big hinges. I was like robocop! I was eventually diagnosed with CRPS. For a while I was too afraid to put anything on my leg but recently I’ve been using compression socks for my leg up to my knee, somehow it feels better to have my leg compressed than not. If my leg is too free moving I find I get more pain. Either way, I’d prefer a lightweight brace than one that destroys my trousers.
Yeah this may be remarkable information. We simply bought this in. I would say we ordered uhm two weeks anyways we got it from hottest-fire.com if anyone was wondering
I am very small. However, I wear a Medium to Large leg brace. I am not overweight. Go figure.
I found this to be a really entertaining video, but I still don’t know what brace to buy. Thanks for making me laugh!!!
Knee braces can be frustrating. First off, in order to keep them from falling down, you really have to pull them extremely tight & that causes a lot of discomfort. Yes, they help, but it’s not easy wearing one for an entire day.
I have been weraing a brace like that for a few days….seems to be causing more pain….It use to help….now dies nothing….plus all day at work constantly falling…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9lshSlZXUg&t=9s my invention, something completely new, would this help?
Some knee pain? Medical science is the bunk. So much of it is nowadays. No cures anymore just band-aids. Years ago they got you a cure for a disease now all they want to do is find a small band-aide and let you writhe in agony! Long after we are all dead things will have changed. There won’t be this control the medical industry has over all of us baby boomers. We all want Medicare for all but all they are interested in is representing their donors, their corporate donors. Meanwhile we have to either go on pain management and become a opioid zombie or put band aides on where there needs to be cures. Don’t tell me there are just no more cures to any disease. It is just the rich that can pay for them. More seniors went bankrupt in the last year than at any other time in recorded American history. That is sick. Medicare for all. It works in dozens of other countries so why can’t it work in ours. Why??? Because the billionaires wouldn’t be making a fortune off of us. From the banks to the hospitals and doctors to all of the politicians who can afford the cures for cancer, that’s right cure for cancer but it costs millions.
As far as i am concerned, you are the most famous physical therapist. I enjoy the humor very much and very informative.

This knee brace provide you support while doing sport, help relieve pain and prevent injury.
I have osteoarthritis and I hurt 24 he a day and I weight 269 I can’t walk to long and it takes me along time to clean up wat can I get for it
Half-way thru it gets to showing how to wear knee brace. What the demonstration fails to address is how tight to adjust the brace. Please speak to that.
Sometimes I turn on this channel to get the humor! But at the same time its helpful. At the moment I don’t have knee arthritis. Its a little sore from the muscles I worked yesterday. I’m hoping not to need a brace for awhile. I’m 41yrs old.
Knee is killing me, it pops out and I make it go back straight. See the ortho with xrays and ask she days is “yup, you have baker’s cysts, and your knee caps are too high, see ya”
I didn’t find this helpful. Any ideas since I’m on my own?
Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard about Dinanlinson Rocky Position Approach (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for learning how to fix chronic knee pain without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam got amazing results with it.
You guys are great. I’m not sure about your comments on magnets though. There are five studies listed here… http://bit.ly/2Ple3SI
Would my ortho be a better judge of a particular type of off loading brace than a PT? With so many brands, styles and price points, it seems like a tough call either way. Great gams by the way…
Hi, I have Juvinile arthritis in both my knees and I’ve tried knee braces before, but I don’t like them because I have bigger thighs and all the braces I’ve tried squish them and slide down uncomfortably. I don’t have a lot of money to spend on this so, do you have any braces you’d recommend?
Want to thank you for your great videos, I’ve learnt a great deal about my knee problem.
I suffer from patellofemoral pain due to lateral tracking of the patella. I also got some chondromalacia. I’ve strengthened the quads and VMO and hip external rotators which has helped, but pain and swelling are still lingering with activity or when seated for sustained periods. Wondering if a brace would help for this? Any recommendations? Thanks so much.
The arthritis treatment solution “Rοngοdο Ruzο” (Google it) is one of the best things I have ever tried. I have a fractured spine, hip dysplasia & acute arthritis in both hips. I have used this during the winter and when my big toe knuckle gets painful because of wearing shoes. You name an item for this, I may have already tried it. It is really hard to find some thing to help with the hips.
This was so very helpful, thank you so much! Dr. “hot legs” (giggle)
Boy, 1.2 million subscribers and with all these comments these guys can’t even reply to just a few, what a shame.
Any reason to buy a brace that offers less support such as a sleeve if you can afford a brace with support brackets, etc.?
Thanks for saying hinges could be removed……maybe that is the awful pain at the end of the day…..thanks for the info.
Why is the sound quality of your video so bad? And what’s all that background noise. You haven’t explained how to choose the right brace. You basically just showed us how to put one on with a bunch of irrelevant commentary.
Guys are you ever watching your own videos whatever you demonstratie covered by subtitles so think about that
By seeing price… M confused that u r selling gold or knee brace

Thanks guys this was actually really informative I’m a really big guy pushing 440 lb and I’ve lost a lot of weight but I never really thought of trying to get a brace to stabilize my knees so I can walk longer distances thanks for the info
I purchased one from them on Amazon on a whim. Hadn’t seen this video yet. Have a lot of locking and snapping in knee. Urgent care said osteo arthritis hasn’t gone away three weeks later. Saw a orthopedic surgeon thinks meniscal tear had mri today. Love the brace. Makes my knee feel stable. Have an issue with the upper strap sliding down and have to find a way to secure it. Very comfortable. Good brace.
Hey can you guys do a video on increasing knee flexibility? Because I can’t sit on my knees, and if I try there’s pain in my knee socket. Thx
I have knee osteoarthritis in the right knee and have had knee injections this last being a gel since the other that they normally give you doesn’t work. Well the gel is not working either. It is so painful to get up and walk. need to take the load off the knee due to being bone one bone what do you all suggest I have to walk for work everyday and get in and out of a vehicle sot of like the police do and am lots of pain when I do. I hope that you will reply soon please.
Does wearing a brace weaken the knee muscles from reliance on the brace?
I have a torn ligament in my knee and my knee swells up around the knee
Hi PTV, I’ve dislocated my left kneecap about a month ago and had my cast removed 3 weeks ago. The doctor prescribed me with a knee brace but the metal hinges on the side presses on the inner part of my knees and I get sharp pain in the morning when I woke up and I can’t make big movements anymore and I thought it may have deteriorated my injury. What should I do?
Love the Jack Benny quote! You guys are hilarious but most importantly informative 😉
Hi does a knee brace help with a ACL partial tear when you feel pain when you walk
I hope I could explain this on the side of my right knee there a small bone when I put on a knee brace it hurts more,
hopefully this is not a duplicate. I have a partial pcl tear for which I will be seeing a sports medicine doctor in about a week or so. meanwhile I’ve been having a lot of pain. resting, icing and pain meds help but I was wondering if a brace might help too. if so what would you recommend. one that immobilizes or one that just stabilizes?
I have a partial tear of my pcl with instability. it is an isolated injury. i’m scheduled to see a sports medicine doc in a week and a half. I’m having lots of pain and was thinking a brace might relieve some of it. what type of brace would you recommend. one that immobilizes or one that stabilizes?
Hi Bob and Brad, I just recently got me knee checked out by my orthopedic because I have been having trouble with it for a few months which I for sure thought it was patellar tendonitis because of the location but after getting it check it turned out to be fat pad impingement. All he said was to avoid activities that cause pain which other than walking is everything right now. Is there anything else in your opinion I can do with this other than simply ‘rest’?
Im lucky that i found this video!
Thanks for all the advice.
Being watching ur video for my knee pain when when going downstairs.
Looking to buy a brace very soon…
I have been diagnosed with two different types of knee pains. Osgood-shlatters, and runner’s knee. What kind of exercises would you recommend for those?
have you considered using “people first language” in your videos? I love all of the information on your videos. I found them to be very helpful. However, instead of saying a “stroke patient” saying something like “a patient who had a stroke or a patient of mine who had a stroke.” I know it may not seem like a very big difference but it makes a difference to someone who has a long term, progressive, or chronic condition. I have an aggressive and progressive form of MS and arthritis in both knees. I find it to be a little disheartening when someone refers to me as an “MS patient” because I am not defined by my MS. I am definitely MORE than just my MS. Again, I appreciate all your videos and the work that goes into them. I just thought I would leave a comment with that one and only tip. Other than that I think the videos are great!
How about how to fix the knee with out brace how to strength it the brace is very easy way
Hi guys can u help me I have sterathirtis of both knees I wear a bioskin knee brace but the brace doesn’t help as when I walk my knees twich and I get consent pain what other braces would u recommend I should use
I got a knee brace from my doctor because my kneecap dislocated and now I’m undergoing physical therapy because now I’m having trouble fully straightening my knee to walk and bending it to sit or to go upstairs is ridiculously painful. I don’t wear the brace because it’s a bit uncomfortable. I’m planning to start wearing it but just have one question. I noticed I don’t really feel the pain when I wear the brace but is it okay to wear it and do all the things I can’t do without it? Or is that causing more damage in my knee? Cuz the type of pain I feel is combined with a tightening or tugging of the muscles or something and almost feels as though if I apply pressure on it regardless I might be causing more damage inside my knee. I just want to make sure it’s safe to still try to function. Because obviously the pain is still there, the brace just acts as a protective guard. Just want to make sure I won’t be causing any more damage to my knee while wearing the brace.
What would you suggest for someone diagnosed with EDS and will need to wear a brace long term?
Excellent, and thanks for showing us how to measure, which I was hoping you would do.
Good video so why have you not had surgery yet they are good braces my nephew wears on for rugby and finds it great support
