straight to the point i was looking for a vid like this and all the other ones never said the exact sizez this is the perfect vid
Might get 55 my street is VERY bumpy I can’t cruise like at all so, I have 52 mm I’m prob gonna get 55-57 mm
Just got a complete girl deck from ccs 54 mm wheel and 8.0 deck size I hope it’s perfect for street skating. Loved the video give me some rest on the wheel size
It’s hard to get your hands on a new set of bones right now. With the Corona virus there not producing any wheels. Check their website
I normally use 52mm STF wheels by im gonna buy some 54mm ATF wheels for cruising cuz my ground in parking lots and sidewalk is so rough
Thanks. I purchased some 54mm wheels for just riding around in my neighborhood on roads and sidewalks. Still not sure if that’s the right size. I’ll see how it goes.
7:30… is that not THE first 1080 on vert? Like, documented and everything?
Can you slide in them for speed checks? Or do you mainly have to foot brake?
I have no idea why this has dislikes, such a good, helpful and well-edited video.
Thanks for the tips
i want to pop some street wheels on my cruiser to practice my Ollie, its straight trash
Is it just me or is the sound of a skateboard moving so satisfying
you’re my fav person (besides my gf no offense but like yea) and i rly wanna meet you in person someday
Anyone have a durability issue with these one of mine had a junk taken out first day of riding there the atf rough riders 59mm by 40mm also 70 or 80a not sure which one
Where does this guy live apocalypse world. There is no traffic.
Did you ever notice how much George moves his arms when he skates
Skated bones and spits but bones just feel better spitfires feel too chattery, bones glide like butter in my opinion.
If I want to learn tricks but ride on very rough roads/sidewalks what wheels are recommended?
I made the mistake of having small wheels hill bombing I got the worst speed wobbles
4:16 Guy
3 droplets of the newer-technology ceramic greases… either Archoil AR8300 nano-ceramic grease or DayLube’s NanoCeramic or any of the multiple greases that contain kluber-isoflex-topas (NB-52) plus 4 hours riding, which will polish the races leaving a ceramic coat, equals any cheap bearing becomes near swiss-quality. AR8300 is the best in my opinion though. As for top quality 608 bearings: 1. NTN 2. Bones 3. Zealous However, if you’re willing to buy one of the above greases just get yourself a cheap-somewhat-quality bearing (i.e. Xike, VXB, FGen, PGN).
And all the girlie’s said I’m pretty fly for a white guy
Getting a 8.378 sized board and thinking of getting 149 thunder trucks and 24 mm wheels. Is this the eighth set up? I haven’t skated in so long so coming back has me a little confused. I hope you’re able to respond. Thanks SW
Why didn’t you talk about softness/hardness? Do you even skate, bro?
3:14 “heh… how’s it goin’?”
I can hear it in his voice
what wheel size are the first ones at at 0:08 bc I think i have those
The problem with the Spitfire Formula 4s in the classic shape is that…yes…they are good wheels….but they are very very very skinny. I’ve only been skating for almost a year, so not that long, but I have realized that they seem very icy. By that I mean…they slip too easy. Because Formula 4’s are formulated to slide easily, which is great, but the 53mm size that I have been riding in the Classic shape only has a 16mm contact patch. If you switch to the lock in version, or the conical full Formula 4s in 53mm, they are 21.5mm…which is 5.5 millimeters wider on each wheel! that’s a HUGE difference! So I’m switching to a wider wheel, either the lock-ins or the conical fulls for street…because when I’m gonna power slide, I don’t want to slip out, which is what seems to happen when I use the skinny Classic-shaped F4s. I want there to be a lot of contact patch touching the ground so that I’m stable and have the confidence to slide hard when I’m going fast. Hopefully I phrased all that in a way that makes sense.
The spfs slide easier than the street formulas. And formula 4s slide easier than both of those.
Im so confused what size trucks and wheels should i get for an 8″ board? I wanna do street skating and skate park once in a while but mostly street helppp
My board scrapes when I try and roll of In the skate park
What do I get?
Can you tell me what kinda wheels i do need to ride on a very rough road, and also I am a beginner so what’s should be weight and dimensions i need
Are you using risers? I’m new into skateboarding I was thinking about getting one of these wheels set but I’m worried, did you get wheelbite?
Is there skatewheels that can do both skateparks and streets?
Round house is the softest wheel and the go over everything rocks, sticks and gashed roads with asphalt missing.
Really wanted info on the pink wheels. Looking for that old school big wheels that are still hard. What are the pink ones!?
Very useful info for new riders! Sometimes even after few years skating we don’t know all the info on our gear. Knowledge!! More more more!:)
How do you know they are the best if you’ve never tried any other brands like bones or ricta
I got the blue 55mm lock ins and they even feel a long stretch better than my spitfire wides which are phenomenal. I’ve been skating since 95-96 (born in 91) skated shit load of wheels bones, kryptos, oj’s, lucky, pig wheels, ricta etc. but still find myself coming back to that spitfire urethane baby. The blue lock ins are butt-soft & smooth but still slick when you need em to be
So bones changed STF 83b formula with years. The difference between v1 53mm set from 2008 wear down to 50mm and stf v2 53mm 2017 wear down to 51mm. Newer set much smoother, accelerate faster and effortlessly roll to everything much easier to slide aka buttery slide and revert tricks. The old set definitely has more grip and chirk loud sound.
I’m a beginner and I’m using 52mm but the road outside isn’t the smoothest. Do you think I should get bigger wheels?
wow, I can’t believe they muted the audio because copyright, I wish companies would stop doing shady stuff like this for the sake of money
I skate death skateboards I don’t know if anyone else does aha
I prefer skatepark wheels because you can use them basically anywhere but with street wheels you can’t use them in most indoor parks without sliding everywhere
I need some guidance! Will 55mm be too big for street style skating like ledges and rails?
My oj wheels were super slippery in the beginning too. After broken in they felt like any other wheel I’ve ridden
4:14 something to remember. you might break some ribs, but you’ll get it eventually.
Am I the only one who looks at the thumbnail when people say thumbnail?
Comment what wheels you guys are currently riding im riding the santa cruz slime balls
an 83B street wheel? are they fast on ashphalt and shit like that or do you have to push the crap out of them and then pop in the next two seconds?
I skate some Spitfire formula 4s 99 duro 54mm and after two months I really like them, they feel more grippy and a tiny bit softer than the bones STFs. I have the original shape but I like the shape of your wheels because I skate a lot of transition and I use the wheels to lock in to the coping on grinds and I think that shape will help.
would these sit well on my Independent 144 Stage 11 Trucks? (new to skating and need something softer as the terrain near me is rough) Great video!
I’ve been skating for a month and broke my arm before even landing one ollie. This is gotta be a lot of fun.
hi, I hope someone can help me with my skateboard setup
8″ deck
independent 139 low truck
but I don’t know which wheels are the best for me, I want to begin with tricks but only in streets, I don’t have a skatepark and stuff like that, I read that I need formula four(spitfire) or STF (bones) that’s right?
I got a regular and decided I like just cruising around more. So I just ordered these, since I dont wanna spend more for an entire longboard.
spitfire formula 4 classic, conicals, lock ins or radials for street?
idk if u tried these already but cloud makes these pink wheels and they are pretty good for cruising and doing stuff at skate parks
title:STREET WHEELS vs SKATEPARK WHEELS what he actually does:skates for the half of the video
Skateboard youtubers are so boring when it comes to talking. They yap on way to long. Just get the point. Y’all annoying as crabs.
This video would be so much better without the 30 songs and the 3000 sound effects and cuts. Where is the information?
Are these wheels hard or soft and are they make too much noise on rough ground?
Yoo bro I just bought a new skateboard with wheels I’m a technical skater who does a lot of flip tricks I didn’t know much about the wheel sizes and I bought 54mm wheels they looked nice and I thought that the perfect wheels were going to be but when i bought it and the wheels were delivered sides all my friends says that the wheels were way too big for technical skating is this a problem?
And should I buy new ones
Hi can i just take weels to my skateboard like just take wish one
I just purchased an 8.5″ skateboard and since it’s on the thicker side I was wondering the Santa Cruz 60mm Slime Balls would be okay on my 8.5″ deck? Any advise on this setup would be appreciated!
Quick question: do you have to put the design inside or can you just do it either way you want?
I use hard ones be uase I skate in streets because in Egypt there is only one skatepark in Egypt Cairo but I live in alexandria
To save you time regarding new wheels.
<51mm wheels are great for street you can feel the ground better.
>54mm wheels are ideal for vert.
It’s amazing how big a difference a few mm can make! In the end. It’s about personal preference anyway.
Can you post vlogs and informational videos separate please. Because I don’t really want to watch the vlog. I want to see the tips and the differences.
Hey I want to buy these wheels but I’m not sure if the bearings need spacers
so i bought 56 mm slimeballs, y’all think that’s ight for street?
could you do a Video and compare this wheels to these “shark wheels”?:) would be awesome
I just realized that this entire video is word for word of an article
Ever since the start of these vids I always wondered how cool it was for you guys to have an intro from a new York drill rapper also looking forward to watching the vid I’ve been so interested in wheels recently and bones are ofc in that conversation
5:06 hol up. He’s mall grabbing!?!? You know what that means!! POOOOOOOOOOOSEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRR
I have bones clear and I’m getting new ones because I don’t really like them
I just got these and I love riding them, im a beginner and I did notice coming up from 52mm i feel a lot less comfortable trying to do anything other than flat cruising should I switch out to my 52mm for learning tricks or would it be helpful to just get more comfortable with the new wheels
Do they come with bearings, sorry in advance, I’m new to building a skateboard
Dude say s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s
Quick talking, straight to the point, quality video, doesnt bore us with egotistical look at me look at me. Thank phuq for that
I have no clue whats going on here..But ill act like I do. Anyways Im a beginner and I barely just ordered my skateboard J have no clue about any of this But can someone help me? The skateboard is 8.0
i dont really buy stuff often because i live in croatia and the skate shops there dont have much stuff and if i try to buy from somewhere else shipping is so much
Personally I’m Pig Wheels for life. I’m not like some ride the best fuck the rest type, I mean I’ve tried Bones, Ricta, OJ, Spitfire, Type S, and Alta as well. It’s just a personal preference thing, I mean if you like those you do you. Ride what makes you happy. P.S. a nice second in wheels in my opinion is Force or Speedlab. Both really great quality but just not the best for me, but I’d still recommend.
I’m old Skool 56yrs old and was skating red kryptonics! But bought some second hand spitfire f fours and love them
So we not gonna talk bout how bad the last person gripped they board?
sorry i have been skating spitfire 80hds for longest time and i have to stick with those
I honestly can’t find an answer for this question but which way are the wheels supposed to face since they aren’t symmetrical is the flat side supposed to face out or not.
Good video man, I’m on Spitfire 54s Formula 4 99d. Find them great for general Street ride smooth. Got them paired with Independent Black bearings.
Every time someone power slides on video the noise gives me goose bumps
One tip bro stop talking with your hands others wise keep it up
Do you notice any wheelbite with these? Really considering them because the streets in my town are shit lol
4:14 that happened to me one time and I hit my lungs so hard that my breath stopped I needed mouth-to-mouth breathing ;-;
I skated bones 2 times and spit fire 2 times I like spitfire more
Earned yourself another subscriber.keep it up
Man some good skateboarding in your videos
Yo I to started skating spitfire classics then I rode my friends board he had formula four spitfires as soon as I got back on my board I felt the difference and I’ve been skating formula four lock ins ever since
I unsubscribed sorry its cuz I cant watch skaters that ride regularl it messes me up
as i grew up skating i usually got the $25 spitfires but i eventually tried out the ricta naturals, liked them and moved up to the ricta chromes, i loved that they were 101a but they didnt power slide so i went back to spitfire and sprung for the $33 formula fours and ill never go back
Good info but maybe help us old school guys out who aren’t as familiar with the new scale.
Basically I was used to the A scale, so 84a was soft
These use the B scale so basically 84b is over 100a. Really hard.
Arryn:*puts link if you don’t live in Scotland *
Me: sad Scottish noises
Lol all of the roads in my place are so bad that some people use cruiser wheels
I have a question, with these wheels are they like most wheels where they feel smooth for like the first 2 weeks, or do they skate smoothly for a longer time? Also, how often should you change them out for a smooth ride?
If you skateboard, these BONES Rough Rider wheels are a must!! Seriously these are the perfect in between wheels for cruising to the Beer store without having to look whack on a long board. I highly recommend them. They can help you get some smooth “cinematic” shots too
Bones stf took me a bit of getting used to. Had some softer bone icon wheels before and when i rode bones stf i would slide without even trying and i would get sketched
I skate oj keyframes and i have always wanted to have something under the name spitfire because of the good reviews they have. The problem is that I live in Britain with a train journey away from a skatepark and rough roads and very choppy concrete! What spitfire wheels do you recommend?
Just stepped it up to 56 mm 101 a spitfire conical fulls from some 52 mm spitfires
I like these wheels but are they good for tricks and street skating?
If you haven’t tried any other wheels then how can you say they’re the best. I’ll take Bones wheels. And I’ve tried both.
I love my current setup. I use it for street. There are no parks or pools where I live. Nearest park is 4 hour drive away. I’m skating 8.5 blank CCS deck, Thunder 149 highs, 1/8 shock pad, bronsons shieldless bearings, Bones Hardcore Hard bushings, and 56mm 100a blank wheels or 56mm bones rough riders for cruising. This is the 3rd time I changed my setup in a couple years. I’m surprised how the wide boards suit me.
i skate street and transition so maybe this wheel will be good because im riding super hard ones atm
That granny in the orange trainers and blue shirt can get the shmeat
Not even kidding but the way ur wearing those socks and the helmet u look kinda gay and poer tbh
I always see the side with the designs on the wheels being put facing inside the board. Is this how they’re supposed to be? I always imagined that you’d want the graphics showing outside.
Is it just me or do new wheels look really aesthetically pleasing
If you want to watch a review on the conical fulls go to my channel. This review is really good as well! Great video:D
Quick question, does anyone use bearing spacers and is there any point when wheels are always left loose? Reason I ask is I’ve just received some Bones Swiss and they have arrived with spacers in the box????
I don’t know how to get all wheels off the ground please help me!
Your for head looks so big to the point it looks like your mega mind really small cheecks and chin and really big upper face
question what size deck is yours?, &’ if it’s a 7.75 board can i still get these wheels for 7.75 board?
I’m not used to 53 mm skateboard wheels anymore I’m used to OJ hot juice cruiser wheels so what should I do to get used to normal hard skateboard wheels again it will probably take a while
oj mini super juice and ricta clouds (86 duro). Pretty nice wheels too
Canadian bones out here like, “Yo, fuck the letter A, we rate with B’s.” That’s cuz Canada is the B rated country in North A+mericA
for the next Q&A, can you tell us all the big wipeouts and crashes you had, how many bones broken and injuries have you had when skating? show pictures or vids clips if they exist
Hi man, I just wanted to ask, I’ve had a lot of reviews on these saying they start to break apart like not long after using them, is this true if so, what are some good substitutes for just cruising?
Thanks
60b /= 80a. Its more like 74 78a. I dont know why bones says this:(
Lol, huge backpack, no size 13 wrench. And you knew beforehand it was going to happen:-D
How am I supposed to trust a mf that buys shake junt bearings
what u guys think is better? to buy a special cruiser board to ride a city or buy a skateboard deck and longboard wheels to it? i’d like to have an opportunity to make some simple tricks and riding for a long distance
THOSE ROADS ARE SO SMOOTH THO WTF. Come to the UK and feel our pain… ;-;
So my skateboard wheels rn are hard wheels but they absolutely suck on the streets of my neighborhood so should I get cruiser wheels?
Pharmacy Board-shop Hollywood just got a lot of BONES wheels in and I’m going to add this to the Instagram link
That nut that doesnt spin on is either the axle itself is stripped, or the nut is stripped. old trucks will usually not be straight on the axles, thats why the nut wont go on. some skate tools have rethreaders on them.
honestly spitfire are more flatspot resistant than these but bones hold their shape for longer which is great but a killer if you flatspot them.
where can I still find these they’re either sold out or discontinued everywhere:/
Do cruising wheel give a better smoothness then regular wheels and faster? Im getting back into skateboarding and I usually cruise around with my board
Dude… you don’t know what your talking about. After living 2 years in Hog Town I moved to Montreal. Their streets and footpaths (sidewalks) are like a Third World War zone. T.O. Is a skatepark compared to here… even with the streetcar tracks
Hey, I have heard these wheels chip a lot. I have very rugged streets and am wondering whether these will last?
Lol I’m just wondering if I put these wheels and bearings on my Walmart skateboard will it be easier to ride? I don’t rlly do tricks I just like cruising…
Im searchin for smt like cruiser wheels to put on my used normal 8.25 deck, so that i can cruise super chilled. Still they should be hard enough to powerslide. Anybody can help with some info/knowledge?:)
hard wheels feel like shit, they vibrate to fuck and you can feel it in your teeth
Try the new Oj super juice 55mm. I’ve been riding the 60’s for so long I’ve got them down to 55’s and they still roll over absolutely everything and are face pealing fast.
Do you think you think they are good for cruising and tricks?
Man this wheels got the oldskool yellowish Color love it. Might cop
so i have 54mm wheels rn can i just buy the 60mm and put them on without getting new bearings or anything
I’ve been street skating spitfire F4 101a’s for a long time. Time to change it up!
I’m a beginner looking for wheels. I can start but I can’t stop. How do you stop with wheels like these, since you can’t slide with them?
I’m keeping my skateboard for tricks, and getting a penny board for cruising I’ve used my skateboard way too much so whenever I’m riding in the streets I get funny looks because they’re so loud
That shitty street is still better than all streets where i am.
I get shit but i wear a helmet, one day i was doing a transfer and i got hung up on coping and hit my helmet so hard it cracked…. if that was my head…..so now i dont care what people think
I got ricta clouds 56mm. The biggest I’ve ever skated, they’re ridiculously smooth and fast but it’s harder to do flip tricks. Where I live in nyc the streets are absolutely fucked and I can actually skate them with those wheels.
I like how bigger wheels are considered longboard wheels when back when I use to skate they were just considered normal wheels
u can also buy OJ superjuice 55mm wheels. i use them a lot and they work so well as filmer wheels.
is there any good cheap wheels these are currently out of stock
spitfire wides, aka SFW mike anderson signature. Which is now the conical full shape. Classic 99d blend non F4.
Big wheels and some new bearings are a complete game changer
I got an off brand penny board, the follow-come wheels I can’t say what the hardness rating is, but it’s obviously softer than trickboard wheels, they ride smooth on pavements that have light rubbles, but when I take it to ride on the main-road (road cars ride on) I feel the u smooth road on the board, wheels then roll slower and makes my riding not an enjoyable experience. I want to get a new set of wheels, do I get these Rough rider wheels or skark wheels?
Thanks
take a drink every time he says slightly jk love your channel
Can’t wait to get back into skateboarding i used to skate through out junior high and high school but street cruising was always a pain since i had shit streets thats always cracked or the road material makes it hard to skate so i used to go to a skate park or the indoors skate rinks but in my senior year the indoors were shutting down and the skate park i used to go got torned down so then i just stopped skating but i want to simply just cruise around but by the look of these wheels i probably can
I got a skateboard, its not from walmart lol
Its from a warehouse (new and was wrapped up) and i need wheels but i dont know if i need a specific type of truck for the wheels. All i know is 59mm is good for me on the streets/side walks. Someone help with this
Says its silent while explosions can be heard in the background….
Can anyone help me I have a 8.0 deck and was thinking about getting 147 thunder trucks is that a good idea
aye I hope y’all know that my rough riders split in half yesterday
You look like every rapper to appear on ridiculousness. And I mean that in the best way, not trying to be mean. Cool vid bro
the effort that went into is mad under appreciated, it’s the little details that matter that most people don’t pay attention to, me being a skate videographer I do and that with being said props to your channel man
I like super hard wheels like 101 A’s spitfire but I like bones too.. what’s the most similar wheel I can find that’s a 101 a or harder for bones
I’m trying to find the Bones hot pink wheels but idk what there called? Anyone
I’m not a fan of the OG white wheels, like I know they’re the OG, but they become yellow n gross looking. I usually rock black, or colored wheels. Black wheels are nice because they always stay black
Edit$40 (I know it’s the dollar sign and not the pound sign but) isn’t just slightly more haha, it’s literally double the price
Most flatspot resistant? Somebody needs to test Spit formula 4s vs STFs
Ive never used a skateboard before, do u recommend these for a beginner whos gonna cruise a lot + not do a lot of advanced tricks since ill be learning for a while?
The guys voice fucked it all up for me..just made my own bearing instead.
are there any wheels good for cruising but still decent for skateparks?
40+ years leading the industry and that’s all I need to know? Pretty weak ☠
okay so it’s 2020 and i clicked the link and they aren’t available anymore. i want these kind of wheels for my skateboard. my board is 7.75 and idk if these will work. sos help lmao
Awesome review! Think they’re good for bowl skating? Just got back into skating after 16 years, turns out I’m badly out of shape so I mainly just cruise and bowl skate some, not a fan of longboards for some reason, these wheels seem like a perfect medium.
Cool vid and all, it did help a little. It was a little disappointing though. I saw five different types of wheels in the thumbnail and thought there’d be a little more variety. I’m a longboarder looking for good wheel sizes, and a 60 is one of the smaller wheel sizes, as longboard wheels can typically go up to 69 mm.
pretty sure the SPF is actually harder… @ 7:39 but maybe the formula makes the difference
im not really a fan of bones. dont get me wrong there great wheels but when to comes skating rough ground there not as good as spitfires. i prefer spitfires
Actually STF more flatspot resistant then SPF its from my experience and Bones website with pic of percentage material lost after drag. People’s who talking about easy flatspots bones wheels probably ride cheap price point 100s formula. https://bones.com/why/drag-test/
Seen Shredz on Crail!!! So awesome to get recognition from one of the biggest distributors!!
Thank you, the problem about where I live is that there are some fat cracks in the road so I nearly die every time I’m out there with a 48-52.
U look so fucking gay with the helmet on when your doing street clips, I get it if u wear a helmet when your on a half pipe but when your doing street clips it looks hella gay
ik this isn’t even out yet but can we get one for spitfire too??
I ride 58s. For me it’s the perfect in between size. I’m also a older sk8r too. Might have something to do with it lol
Were not going to talk about that long ass manual in the beginning? I bet if he was white every would have timestamped it.
Okay but how are we not talking about where the dude caught a fish:0
The first set of wheels I got were some Rodney Mullen Bones wheels when I went to Kona for my birthday
There is a lot of skaters in the comment section, I am gonna learn I just bought a board….but I have never even stepped on a skateboard….Any tips??
from 3:17 to 3:54 what song is that, ive been trying to find that for so long and havent been successful
I hope you’re getting paid well. Cause you just sold me these wheels bro
Lol the grandma is one of those people who thinks skating is for bad kids or whatever.
Thanks my man…my GF is getting me wheels for my bday and she needed to see this to learn about the shape, size and hardness.
Do you think that 63 mm muckefuck wheels are too big for street skating
I’m very proud that I finally got my ollie so I am announcing it to yt. Thank you and goodbye
If my bones STF’s wear out, i’m trying out spitfire just because…
I’m using the chemicals in the test tubes to fun the best wheels lol. I have a bunch of different wheels between my daughter and I. I got her 60mm spitfire for speed and still looks like street wheels. I have 70mm orangetang and 60mm ojs for cruising and 54mm spitfire for the skate park. Once she’s use to riding the board we’re switching up the wheels. I’ll probably get the 60mm spitfire wheels for my board for transitions, since it’s my favorite style.
Sometimes my feet pretend to do a trick while I’m asleep. They actually twitch and I feel my legs doing an Ollie motion.
I don’t really understand, so it’s a good wheel or a bad one????
I just got my first board (after spending way too much time on skating tiktok) and I’m having a ton of fun already:)
Thank you sooo much this helped a lot no one else told me this I was looking for a wheel that could be used for tricks and rough terrain so prolly 57 to 58
Wait wtf this is my local skatepark and I go there all the time
When I was younger I got kind of annoyed w slippery ramps now I’m jus’ like WHEEEEEEEEEEE and i get sweaty faster
