Totally resonate with this! I’ve been vegan for 6.5 years, last year I went to India and got sick 4 times. My health/gut bio has never been the same, I went to a naturopath and she put me on the SIBO diet (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) which pretty much excludes all things that are vegan that I can eat to feel satiated like potatoes, rice, legumes, ALL fruit. Before going to her I had been following a LOW fodmap diet for 6 months and I still felt extremely bloated, full of gas and just like I was holding onto extra weight. Which is really frustrating for someone who does a lot of exercise and was eating a extremely clean/restrictive plant based diet.
After eliminating fibre, sugar and carbs for 8 weeks out of my diet and eating mainly salmon/other fresh fish and organic eggs and low fiber vegetables my stomach is always flat now, even after meals it looks tapered in and flat. I don’t feel bloated anymore, it was hard for me to transition into this new way of eating because being “vegan” was my identity. I couldn’t watch my health go down hill anymore, I have felt the best I have now in almost 7 years. By following a pescatarian diet is what works best for me. Now my gut is fully healed and I can eat without pain afterwards and feel light! Lots of love. xx

There is no “this diet didn’t work for me”. We are all the same species and require the same nutrients. Only difference is if someone has an intolerance. that’s where a plant-based doctor will come in because they understand how plants impact your specific body. Stop using the word “vegan” when referring to your diet. Vegan is an ETHICAL LIFESTYLE that does not support any form of animal abuse or exploitation.

This stuff happened to me too! Really felt like I was the only one. It was a frustrating process and Felt like a big failiure seing other people doing so great but just feeling really crap instead. But as soon as I accepted that it wasnt something for me I feel so much better. Its nice to see someone else talk about it.
People were told that red meat was bad but chicken and turkey were healthier for you.

My teeth turned grey after a few months on a plant based diet! And I got extremely anemic. It was horrible for my body and I do much better eating a lot of meat and raw dairy. I am surprised at how much animal-based foods I need to eat. All I know is that I feel 100% better and strong now…such a relief.
I was vegan for maybe one year. Vegetarian 99% of the time prior to that. After being vegan, I became severely anaemic and B12 deficient. I also had a miscarriage shortly afterwards. I eat meat occasionally now, I was vegan originally because I loathe industrial farming. I don’t think being vegan is necessarily a good choice for optimum health… for everyone…. maybe it does work for some people. I have a friend who has been vegan since her teens and is now in her late 30s and she is way too thin.
If you get skinny when you go plant based it’s because you have malabsorption, meaning lymph stagnation, and fruit fixes that. Lots of people in this day and age because of weakened genetics and diet have this problem without knowing, just because someone is fat doesn’t mean they don’t have this problem. Lots of people get skinny first and then bulk up after they fix the problem. dr Robert morse is the best person I’ve ever found
You have to eat a proper vegan diet for it to be healthy. You must have been doing something wrong. Going back to animal products is not the answer. well thats where shes totally wrong… keto is a long term lifestyle and keto its the same thing as the candida diet. it should be long term especially if you dont want it to come back, a whole new way of eating and thinking about food, of course it should be long term!! if you care more about health more than unhealthy cravings then long term is the way, unless you want candida back, when it comes back when you get rid of it, it comes back harder and stronger. people who do long term high fat low carb are healthier stronger dont suffer from things like candida, have mental clarity, look young, so many reasons for long term high fat low carb. candida lives off of sugar so if you take the sugar out it starves

Interesting… Highcarbhannah went through something similar when she was eating raw till four. Being hungry after just eating, bloating, weight gain. She changed to focusing meals on starches: rice, potatoes, oatmeal and eating lots of cooked veggies and she lost the weight and bloating and is doing great
I have never missed out on chicken in 56 years, no problems, perfect health. You should avoid sugar, veg. Oil, prosessed grains. Get some exercise. Chicken with the skin is healthy.

Being vegan doesn’t necessarily mean you’re eating healthy food. You are correct in that the plant based meat replacements are terrible for you because they are so heavily processed and carcinogenic. Eating a mostly whole food plant based diet is the way to go and watching how much of the starchy carbs and fruits you consume because they will spike your blood sugar not to mention fruits can be quite acidic. You want to eat complex carbs because they are slow digesting and do not spike your blood sugar. Like you, I experienced horrible stomach pains to the point where I would be curled up into a ball but I listened to my body and I backed off of the beans and fake meat which helped immensely along with adding sockeye salmon and egg whites here and there. Up until I was about 28 I ate meat 2-3 times daily. I just felt like I was in a fog no matter how many hours of sleep I got and had zero energy. I started doing a bunch of research and reading just how bad it actually is for the body. Its not just the saturated fat and highly processed meats but its also the heme iron in meat. What you are describing sounds more like a problem of plaque and intestinal parasites. You need to purge your bowels of parasites by way of a long water fast and then you would be rid of these symptoms you are talking about.

This video is very misleading and the plant based diet did not destroy your body you did that on your own. First of all, before changing your diet completely you should have gotten a blood work done and tested all your vitamins levels so you could have done a comparison. Second you should have done an updated allergy test, since allergies do change every year or every several years, because our bodies are constantly changing. Third you should have gone to see a nutritionist/dietitian. Eating 100g of fiber, 10+amino pills a day, and not having any complex carbs/healthy fats is unhealthy. You did the vegan diet the wrong way and I feel bad for you.

When vegans think of meat eaters they think of fatty burgers and red meat. In truth, lean untreated meat combined with vegetables and healthy carbs is the healthiest “diet” there is. Vegan food is covered in salt and preservatives. You can notice a change in a vegans face most of the time. Good on you girl

I went through the same experience, felt good at first but after a couple years things started to go downhill. I stuck it out for a long time, and by that I mean 7-8 years, trying everything but the only thing that really helped me was eating an omnivorous diet again. I felt better instantly but it took time to fully recover. Thanks for sharing your story.

Just a side note: I think it’s important for people to know there’s a difference between a vegan diet, and a WHOLE FOOD plant based diet. WFPB diet does not include oils, or meat subs like burgers, sausages and so on. A vegan diet consists of anything that’s not an animal product and/or byproduct.
Reading the comments here i just realised that no one have been vegan because vegan its not a diet. Plant based is a diet. Vegan is about ethics and animal liberation. You can not be vegan and then turn to eat meat again. So all posers here calm down.

35:40 High Triglycerides Unless I am unique in the human population the doctor, and many others, is wrong with his recommendations for “everybody” with this problem. I entered food data religiously for over a year and was very strict in Whole Food Plant Only Low Fat never to get to below recommended high levels of triglyceride. Fat lower than about 12 % causes the skin on my heals to crack. When I added two small scoops of guacamole per week this was solved. Next thing I will try for triglycerides is Red Quinoa suggested in the video “Benefits of Quinoa for Lowering Triglycerides” by NutritionFacts.org.

No judgment hereOils are not good for you at all. Based on what you are saying here, many of your symptoms were due to the oil and possibly processed foods. The biggest misconception about whole food plant based diets are that oil is needed. I suggest you look into that. There is a difference between being vegan and eating a WFPB diet. Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman may be something to look into. I’m sorry you had such a negative experience. As a former bikini competitor eating meat seemed to be the easiest way to be smaller and I have had my struggles eating a wfpb diet, but as long as you follow Eat to Live, it will change your life. I caution that eating meat and dairy is not healthy for your insides. To absorb the nutrients in plants, you should eat nut based dressings. The “hunger” you are describing is toxic hunger from the way you have eaten in your past. I advise that you look into Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and Dr. Mcdougal. I’m not a vegan, but I don’t eat meat or dairy and have been certified in Holistic Nutrition. This is coming from a place of sadness that someone has been misguided into WFPB diets. You are not wrong about the fake meats and oil so a true whole food plant based diet does not include these items. Good luck!
As a woman who’s been vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and keto I can truly tell you that no one diet fits all. I thrived on each diet in certain areas but suffered in many other ways so now I just eat more intuitively and I do not cut out any certain good group anymore. I eat what I crave and I’m still learning what works best each day. Sometimes I’m more low carb and sometimes I’m all about the carbs lol but my huge take away is to always make sure I choose the right foods with less processed foods and more whole foods I feel better all around. Fruit causes teeth decay but not starch. I havent had a cavity in years and I eat tons of starch but not fruit or sweet things.
Been vegan for 3 years so this are my 2 cents:
1. Bloating: Had it for the first months… but it goes away…. it’s just your body adapting to a new diet
2. Don’t do probiotic things… just eat real food
3. There is nothing wrong with complex carbs like beans/legumes/potatoes…. its just brain fuel…. I eat it every day no worries
4. Farting: You fart a bit more but that is healthy… it just means your intestines are working
5. I don’t know how you get inflamation from the most anti-inflamatory diet on the planet (aka plant based diet)
6. Oils are bad for you but I still use olive oil almost every day… don’t be too restrictive about it
7. I never had acid reflux since going vegan…. it’s a mostly alkaline diet
8. Fiber is GOOD for you… let me repeat it… it’s GOOD for you. Fiber is what gives you really good poops! It also a lot moving food through your intestines preventing constipation
9. Suplements: I don’t take them… not even a single one… B12 I get from normal breakfast fortified mild and nutritional yeast… Plants have all the essential aminoacids so it confuses me why someone might be taking suplements for that.
My 3 tips:
1. Eat different fruits/veggies/beans/legumes/seeds as much as possible
2. If you are starting out use cronometer.com to track your nutrient intake(I don’t need to use it anymore)
3. Don’t overcomplicate… I see this with a lot of people and many of them end giving up… plant based is not that hard

I had the same experience. I was so bloated and full of wind. I used to open my bowels six to seven times a day and had several accidents.
I followed all the ‘rules’ I ate a fully plant based whole food diet with sufficient calories. I felt awful and my brain went crazy there is no doubt a vegan diet is healthy to the max and suits many people… I am just not one of them ☹️☹️☹️

I am not knocking what others do but omg your body literally speaks to you as will tell you everything you need to know based on what you eat. Meats are literally unbelievably amazing for the body. I don’t have a problem with vegans, as long as they don’t try to make other people vegan. Those people put a bad name on regular vegans. Most vegans do it cause eating meat and dairy gives them health problems. Then you got the loud vegans shoving their beliefs into your face
You’re lucky you only did it for 8 months. I was vegan for 10 years, eating mostly whole foods and supplementing the whole time, and the first few years were good. I saw a lot of improvements in my health… until my honeymoon period was over. Somewhere around year 3-4, I started having lots of problems staying full after meals, and my energy levels tanked. I developed IBS, anemia, and sarcopenia. And for some reason, I was still committed to the lifestyle so I just started eating more starches and beans. That did the opposite of help me. So then I spent years trying every version of the whole foods plant based diet that exists, only to find my eating becoming more and more disordered. I happen to be type 1 diabetic and at this point, my bloodsugars started spiking wildly out of control no matter how careful I was with my insulin dosing.
By the end of my vegan career, I was severely malnourished, I hadn’t had a period in two years, and I was suicidally depressed. That’s when I finally started reconsidering the lifestyle and listening to NON-PLANT BASED people for once.
I’ve recovered by adopting an ANIMAL-BASED diet and all my health issues have resolved. My muscles are back. I’m fertile again. My bloodsugars are on point. And the depression? GONE.
Poor calcium metabolism due to low calcium intake and low vitamin k2 and vitamin D3 status could also contribute to the poor dental health.
Oof. I was just about to follow this channel, but this video changed my mind. The title and imagery in and of itself looks like propaganda. Sharing your experience is one thing, but making anecdotal claims based on what seems like an experience that was neither well thought out nor well researched (beyond burgers and most meat substitutes are terrible, i eat mostly vegetarian and i don’t touch that crap, it’s just junk food without animals in it)… that’s not cool, man. I’m not vegan. I’m not being hateful or rude. But selling your product to an easily influenced audience by saying things to sway their opinions about a diet that has a potentially very healthy effect on MANY people? Guys, losing weight doesn’t need to be difficult (I used to think it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan known as Custokebon Secrets. Seriously, that diet plan has transformed my life. I probably should not even be mentioning it because I don’t want a bunch of other guys out there running the same “game” but whatever, I am just in a great mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.
Did you go to a reputable non-biased doctor or just come to your own conclusions? It’s really weird when people self-diagnose and self-treat. Just see a doctor. There’s more to things than just your diet. I bet you anything you said, “I feel wonderful,” when you switched to vegan because you didn’t feel good when eating meat. Now you are switching back to a diet that you didn’t feel good with originally but now you feel good all of a sudden. It doesn’t make sense. Don’t self-diagnose and self-treat. Just see a doctor.

Thus far, I have spent over 300k on my gut!!! All of the doctors just place me on antibiotics and pain pills. There is NO way I can work with a Dr.

Candida overgrowth destroyed 4 months of my life. I didn’t know the cause for a long time. But it resulted in depression, skin issues, dandruff, anxiety, paranoia. It was a dark time that almost destroyed my marriage. Getting on a very clean keto diet fixed it. Except I still drink alcohol (gin)

Forgive me but this comment is about to be incredibly rude.
1. There’s no way a grown woman in her 30s could truly believe that burgers are healthy. Plant based or otherwise. If you do, then you have a lot more issues than gut issues.
2. Throughout your entire video, all you showed was smoothies and smoothie bowls. When you went to your local supermarket, did you never decide to walk down the rice aisle or the bean aisle or the pasta aisle? Did you ignore those foods altogether?
3. You are literally a YouTuber. Did you never once think “Hmm I don’t know what to eat. Maybe I should go on YouTube and search up one of the hundreds of vegan YouTubers and watch one or even a few of the THOUSANDS of vegan recipes on YouTube to figure out what to eat.” Like come on. That’s just common sense. Or shit even just Google “vegan recipes”. I promise you’ll find hundreds of thousands of vegan recipes.
4. If you actually ate real foods, you’d realize that all plants have some amount all essential fatty acids in them. Now obviously (which I guess it’s not obvious to everyone) you can’t just eat 1 thing and think you’ll get all of your RDI from one food. You have to actually eat real food and different kinds.
5. The only real supplements that is suggested for ppl to take (both vegans and non vegans) is b12 and, depending on your region, D3. Other than those two, you can get every other vitamin and mineral from eating a whole foods plant based diet.
I’m sorry but it’s truly mind boggling to me that someone in my age bracket is this incapable of thinking logically.

This is rough. 10 amino acid pills a day? I’ve been vegan 5+ years and have never taken an amino acid pill, that is just spreading false information to your followers. Same with b vitamins……….I think you meant to say B12, which is the only actual supplement you should take as a vegan. And continually referring to fake meat packages and the ingredient list???? That is vegan junk food, and not meant to be part of a plant based diet. of course that isn’t close to nature, it’s manufactured as hell. Sharing info about your bloating, gas, etc, fine. But don’t spread false information that leads other people away from a diet that is better for the planet, better for health when done correctly, and doesnt contribute to the suffering of million of animals a day. Thank you for being honest sister. I also tried ginger, turmeric, black pepper and other supposedly anti-inflammatory remedies and none of it worked. The only thing that worked was vaporizing indica herb and eating eggs, meat, and dairy. Meat is a necessary nutrient I am sure of it. I starved for months with the vegan diet and I’m done. I’m back to eating eggs meat and dairy because the inflammation was so bad I couldn’t walk without my knees feeling pain.
Don’t know if you are aware of this fact. ALL INGESTED FAT and CHOLESTEROL takes 3 to 4 hrs of processing in your body before it enters into your lymphatic system. Then it pours into the left side of the heart and is pumped via the aorta to the rest of the body. Eventually after it has passed through the body it makes it to the liver. Here it is processed. On its way to the liver is when some absorption can be detrimental. I’m sure its ok when the levels are low. However, cholesterol is not needed as a food, your body makes it.

What I always find very interesting is how religious some people treat their diets. Hardcore vegans will tell you that veganism is the solution to all of your health problems and hardcore meat eaters will tell you that a carnivore diet is the solution to all of your health problems. We’re humans and not machines, what works for you might not work for someone else. Nutrition is such a complex topic.
I for example feel my best eating lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains, chicken and eggs. But if someone feels better excluding animal products or eating more animal products then that’s totally not my business. (Even though I don’t believe in extremes like fruitarian or carnivore or raw food diets)

Serious question: with us possibly being forced to have a covid vaccine, I saw today that the standard flu jab includes gelatin, egg protein & canine kidney cells… from ur perspective, is this unethical knowing the ingredients in the vaccine.. not to mention Jews and Muslims as they are non kosher ingredients.
