Thanks! Yet, more sweet shoppes and donut shoppes are popping up everywhere!
Had a good size cake and now fasting 24 hours feeling disgusted.
Great video Dr. Nick!! Sugar is a killer for sure. ❤️
We need to start using consistent language. The word sugar used in this video = sweetener = sucrose, and the worst thing about sucrose is that it’s 50% fructose, which can only be metabolized by the liver.
The word sugar, as in blood sugar, is every carb other than fructose, which gets reduced to and metabolized as glucose throughout the body.
The terminology needs to change. Nutrition labels need to change: It would be better to list fructose content instead of sugar content under carbs.
Someone explain sugar alcohol to me. I been using monk fruit with stuff and it’s the only thing that tastes okay but im scared it might kick me out of keto
Fantastic Video Doctor. Palm sugar is also one of the healthy natural sugars which has been using in India for many many years. Ayurvedic Doctors always recommend it. Yes they dont recommend if you have diabetes.
Doctor Z. Thank you so much. Tell me I am crazy. I can’t touch sugar due to my health. So I dried orange peels with cardamom in oven blend them like powder and that my sugar for my morning coffee. Is that crazy or ok to continue with it?
Our dear doctor, you just saved me by telling that’s it’s ok to eat honey and dates when I cure my insulin resistance.
“In this video…” ça commence toujours pareil et je m’amuse à l’ imiter♀️
raw honey helps me a lot when i cant sleep just table spoon of it 5minutes after im relax, sweet dates just really amazing makingme so smart on trading
HOW CONSUMING. I use Stevia packets and Truvia is Stevia and you show a picture of all the Packets of Sugar subsitutes Sweet N Low, Truvia and say STAY AWAY from these. then on your Chart of “Best Sugar Alternitives” you say Stevia is good. So WHICH IS IT?
That’s stevia stuff is unbearable, I don’t know how anyone manages to get it down. I’ve never liked sugar, I’ve always used agave nectar or honey as a sweetener.
I have found that Splenda spikes my blood sugar less than stevia for sure. Liquid Splenda is great. Doesn’t spike my blood sugar and WAY better than stevia drops
I’ve removed sugar so effectively from my diet that I now find a few blueberries in my plain yogurt to be too sweet. A year ago when I started Keto I tried all manner of things to replace sugar in desserts, etc. I have bags of erythitol that I haven’t touched in at least 6 months as I just stopped eating sweet stuff. My entire flavour palate has changed. Now that I use heavy whipping cream in my tea, even the thought of milk in it makes me cringe at the though of how sweet that would be. Where I would have had fruit-laden yogurt in the past, I’m more likely to just add cinnamon to plain yogurt now. A year ago that would have sounded gross or at the least odd it’s my new normal.
Monk friut is hard to find with out a blend in it. I want pure monk fruit and I do not want to order it. I want to go to the store and buy pure monk fruit. What stores have pure monk fruit?
Please Dr. Is raw honey or maple syrup good for pregnant woman?
When choosing stevia, it’s important to look for “whole leaf stevia” on the ingredient label instead of rebaudioside a or stevia extract, and try to avoid those that contain added ingredients since many of them are derived from genetically engineered corn. Truvia and PureVia, for example, are not purely natural stevia at all.
I just found out I am allergic to erythritol, broke out in major hives, needed a shot and a round of prednisone.
I use monk fruit and stevia all the time….. it has been a lifesaver for me for my coffee and my keto lifestyle!!!!
I try and avoid refined sugar like the plague. Have done for at least 30 years. I use English Toffee Stevia. There are so many ways to use it to take care of a sweets cravings. I also use honey in my morning brew of honey, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. To my knowledge, at 71, I have zero arthritis.
No ims, ams, or ose for me! I don’t use sugar for anything, but if I need a sweetner I use Stevia or honey. Gonna try raw honey and monk fruit! Thanks Dr. Z!
I am planning to reduce my sugar intake and you just uploaded this video. Thank you so much Dr.
Thank you for the information Dr. Z. What about agave nectar I thought it was alkaline so it won’t raise your insulin levels?
