I’m doing an easy simple diet but I’m cutting I’m having 2000kcal a day I’m having 88g fat a day under 55g carbs and over 250g protein I have 400g chicken 160g cheese that’s most of my kcals but I discovered alpro soy protein chocolate it has 690kcal 50g protein 50gram per carton easy to drink carbs but spread out through the day into 4-6 meals a day I also take chocolate brownie my protein and I have 60g of that with water tastes and mixes perfectly and one or 2 limes cut up and blended into juice and that’s basically it for my diet you could say it’s keto maybe a little dirty with cheese 160g a day but tbh that’s the only way I can get my fat in because I’m allergic to nuts and can’t have avocados much because they aren’t as ripe and I’ll need more than one a day so it’s too much money but my diet is around just under £200 a month after the 5kg of protein power is bought and that’s will last me just under 3 months 82-83 days I’d say what do you think of my diet I start my

Ace talk with a good signal to noise ratio and not primarily pushing pills. Healthy people eat a balanced diet with wholefoods plenty of vegetables and not pizza and coke. It should be common knowledge that the oxalic acid in spinach reduces calcium uptake, bone in canned sardines is a good source, milk and yogurt is a good source, vitamin D is needed for calcium uptake, a high dietary fiber (30g + per day) intake being good for the gut microbiome and bone health. It is interesting to note that the audience are old and probably already working hard on a good diet, it is the young who should be taking note of this sort of information. I wish i had eaten more vegetables over the decades. I now eat four cups or more of veg a day and my mother thinks I have gone mad. I also lost a lot of unwanted weight changing my diet like that though. P.S. Don’t bother with orange juice for vitamin C, it just rots your teeth; eat a portion of broccoli instead.
For me, I’m thinking about supplements bc I want to maintain a calory deficient diet to get the remaining fat I’d like to off, but I don’t want to lose more muscle mass and everyone says to consume 1g protein per lb, which is 210grams. It’s hard to maintain 1700 calories and hit 210grams of protein and still get vitamins and minerals and some carbs.

Overall I agree with most of what’s being presented, but there are two things she said that are simply incorrect. First, it is true that dairy consumption is correlated with bone loss, but the mechanism is not that the body leaches minerals from our bones. That has been debunked. Secondly, it doesn’t matter when you eat your protein. Your body recycles it and combines it to synthesize the proteins it needs. Protein is used as an energy source only as a last resort after carbohydrate stores are depleted. Eat your protein when you want. Health is more about eliminating the toxic foods than anything else. It’s subtractive, not additive.
Thing is though I’m trying to lose weight not gain weight as I was very overweight and am still losing weight. Lost about 100 pounds so far and been doing cardio and weights to tone at same time. Eating healthy and best I can but unable to get enough protein. Did a lot of research and I’ve seen mainly that protein supplements aren’t only for bulkers, the bulkers take the high calorie ones I’m taking the low calorie one and have seen it can help with weight loss as long as your still exercising and eating right. Shall I not take the supplement at all then?

I like that she addressed vitamins as sources of nutrition…in my opinion, taking vitamins as a way to be “healthy” instead of eating for health, is just freeing folks diets up from good food to junk/processed food, which isn’t going to work. I would love to buy hemp protein. The problem is it is so expensive probably because of the draconian laws against it. It’s a pity because hemp protein is very healthy and can provide you is a lot of fibre.

If you take supplements, I would recommend doing a kidney cleanse 3 times a year. All those supplements give your kidneys stones. Down the road you’ll be on dialysis if you don’t counter act those supplements. Good luck all.
Why does she keep going on about protein? People get plenty of protein. Also, research suggests that we don’t need 1200 mg of calcium per day. I’ve been training for 35 years and gained lots of experience in training and diet and your right supplements are a waste of money if your diet is right then you don’t need supplements unless your doctor says so. The only supplements I take are omega 3, flaxseed, cumin, turmeric, black seed, multi vitamin, vitamin D in the winter months, and I only do 8 weeks on and 4 weeks of as for diet it’s chicken fish eggs nuts for protein and vegetables brown rice yams oatmeal stuff like that. I had alad ask me once how can I put weight on I asked him what he eats he said I eat loads I eat loads of chocolate and crisps but can’t put weight on, and there it is. I gave him a stater diet to do for a month he gave up to much work he said my point is to eat well is hard work that’s why people do supplements like protein and carb drinks because they think it’s going to work they are supplements that means to supplement your fantastic diet you have going on. A badly educated teenager would have a protein drink for breakfast and I would have a 4 egg omelette with oatmeal and raspberries and blueberries. You are what you eat. Oh and the only way you can tell if a supplement works and the effects on your body it would take months in a lab environment not at home.

You can get 10 pounds of Hemp seed on ebay for $20 dollars. It’s pretty affordable. The ground up stuff in a fancy bag is just overpriced. When you grind it up the oils can go rancid, so it best to buy the whole seed and blend it fresh!

Humans aren’t supposed to drink milk from a cow. We’re not baby cows. What other animal drinks milk from a different species? People can’t digest milk because it’s not for us, it’s for baby cows. Get your calcium from the same place the cows get theirs eat your greens.

In terms of cost make the comparison with buying a half dozen eggs and work out the cost per egg and how many eggs you would need to eat in comparison with a protein shake. I have never bought any protein powder I just eat a whole foods vegan diet and makesure I eat 2100 calories (sometimes I eat less but i make up for it on other days) also I’m only a 5’3 14 year old girl so that’s why it’s lower lol but I’m getting alot stronger so itself working

Do a vegan protein/granola bars critique list! They’re all glorified candy bars & super addictive. Clif bars, GoMacro, ProBar base, NoCow, lara bars, luna bars etc.

I am on a similar diet (GAPS protocol) to control chronic migraines and mild epilepsy. It works if you stick with it & don’t cheat with grains, starches, and sugars. However, I try to keep my calories up so I don’t stay in ketosis, otherwise I drop too much weight and don’t have enough energy for skiing, hiking, & mountain biking. The important point I want to make is that ketosis can be risky for some people. Please have your liver and kidney function tested before going on a diet like this!

Most go for the lean protein shit which doesn’t really make you bigger, just helps you maintain muscle mass while cutting. If you want to gain muscle and don’t want or can’t eat 24/7…get a weight gainer sup. Just don’t forget to excersise because that shit has a ton of calories and will get you FAT. Supplements work, if you know which ones to use and how.
We need enough carbs to fuel our brain. Also when we do anaerobic excercise we burn glucose.
Sugar is also a body building nutrient
Keto diet is just to low on carbs for long term health

Hemp Protein all the way! Sorry. I am a year late learning about it. My skin has cleared up tremendously on hemp protein. I also notice my depression/anxiety healing with that along with a better diet:)
I have followed the ketogenic diet for a year and a half and have reduced my A1C continually (although slowly) to a very normal range. I do eat 20 plus grams of lower carbs per day and moderate meat, good fats like coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil (love avocados as well). I don’t have sugar, flour or dairy but love nuts. I have also followed the Ketotarian( ketogenic with some vegetarian it includes eggs, fish and sardines. I feel way better, have lost 60 pounds and now have lots of energy. Wish I had done this years about!

I am for plant protein. I have been using whey for an year. The basic problem is that whey protein might lead to constipation since it has GMO (Genetically Modified Organism). Now I switched to Plant protein for the past 5 months and I really feel the positive difference. The Plant Protein is natural and is Gluten free. The best part is that, plant protein does not contain GMOs.
Hemp protein isolate would be quite something. Currently hemp protein powders are only available in 70% protein amounts, but if you guys can get hemp up to 90, that would be awesome!
