I’ve got an interesting question: Is breaking bones worser than if you were bleeding? Or do you not focus on blood and just on bones?
Can you discuss meniscus tears, injuries at some point? I tore my left medical meniscus in 2003 playing soccer. I also played hockey when I was young and into my teen years. I had two left knee scopes and my meniscus repaired, the second was for scar tissue blocking movement. It hasn’t been the same when I play on the adult soccer league.
It’s called football not soccer. There is no such sport as soccer
Nice work, if you don’t mimd we can support each other sub me i’ll sub you
If I was on the status stadium and see someone laugh I will go to the pitch and fight him
@ 2:49: They are the BVB and Schalke 04 from Germany. Two Teams tha realy( I mean REALLY) hate each other
One of the Reasons I dont like Soccer is, that the Players are often so Brutal. I prefer Wrestling or Boxing
12:05 this actually wasn’t even a foul. Goalie clearly went for the ball in the first place.
Love the content guys, keep it up! I went over funny on my ankle a few month back playing football (soccer) and it’s not been the same since. Immediately after I used the rice technique to reduce swelling and inflammation, it worked a treat. However once I thought I recovered I continued playing. During these games when tackling with force the pain came back. I then used the rice technique again, however this was not effective as there was no swelling or inflammation present. I then played earlier this week and went over awkwardly on it again and the same pain has been more consistent, it hurts the most when applying pressure on the joint such as walking on it. I can plantar flex with no problem however when I dorsi flex the inside of my foot below the bone hurts excessively.
Do you have any idea what damage I may have sustained and now how to fix the issue?
Keep up the great content guys!
React to Andre Gomes’ injury. Was tackled by a player before dislocating his ankle 45 degrees to the right before sliding into a defender and fracturing his metatarsal
Can you do these after a fractured ankle and out of the cast
I was trying to learn middle splits. I was very close to learning them but I forced myself to much and I injured my left hip. Are these exercises going to help in this kind of situation? Because I really want to achieve the middle splits.
The stomp was not intentional, the player lost his balance.
I could have used this 5 months ago….but relevant to me now because I’m STILL not back up to normal yet and working on strength and proprioception. great video, thank you.
Dr. Chris I know I’m a month late but please look at the Taylor Vs Eduardo injury from quite a few years back now, absolutely horrific and one of the worst injuries that we had seen at the time. Also the goalie tackle you seem shocked at isn’t that bad from the goalie it’s the angle of the camera shot which makes it look like he tackles the forward when it’s essentially the other way round, the forward just didn’t protect himself and took the shoulder to the face, for context look at Stephen Hunt Vs Petr Cech for why goalies are protected.
Thanks for the vids!
I was just walking on the soccer field and by walking i mean WALKING, and my ankle just rolls sideways and then I land butt first on the ground and then got kneed in the back by my teammates who ran into me when I fell. So i ended up spraining my ankle, getting a big bruise on my butt that hurts to sit and bend over etc and a bruise on my back that hurts when i lye on it.
Thanks guys! Broke my ankle plus a bone or two five weeks ago. Heading to step one… ABC’s…:D
Hi dr. Chris. I’m a 13 years old girl soccer player. I dislocated my patella 6 weeks ago at soccer practice.
My doctor told me to stop playing soccer till i’ve seen a orthopedic surgeon (in 1 or 3 weeks).
I have more pain than i usually have (i already have chondromalacia patella). So i went to the doctor’s office last friday for the 2nd time since the injury, and he looked pretty worried when he examined my knee. And i’ve messed up something in my knee:/
I’m so nervous, because i may not be able to play soccer anymore.
https://youtu.be/MJivUab5P-M 9 Painful Deaths Ever in Soccer & Football. Perhaps you can shed some light on what the medical jargon really means!?
I tried doing the knee to wall test and it really hurt my ankle and it was getting better but now feels worse again. Shall I re do r RICE or carry on strengthening?
Thank you so much Bob and Brad for these very helpful videos. I broke my fibula two weeks ago after a fall. Recently switched from a ankle brace to a full boot since I felt the former was not immobilizing my ankle and foot well enough. Since I started wearing the boot, I have been experiencing a lot a cramping from my Achilles’ tendon all the way up my calf. This happened every time I got up to walk. So got some muscle relaxants and taking Ibuprofen. Now trying to massage the calf and stretch it which has helped
Finally another soccer injuries video, i love them❤️
Keep the good work up
the goalkeeper is “defenseless player”, so they usually wear shoulder or knee to protect themselves
Don’t remember how I came across this channel, but man your videos are fun to watch
My I ask? I broke my leg ( my foot, tibia, and ankle ) about 8 mos. ago. It is coming off soon but I wanted to know if you know any ankle exercises I could do to strengthen it?
PLEASE HELP:O
PS. I had a in home physical therapist but he has had to sequester/Quarantine himself. {As have we}. He doesn’t have it but he is in the age group that can, so that’s why.
U really are a great doctor..explains everything detail..keep up..love from India
Hi Guys Bob Brad You so full of information thank you again
Hey doc, I don’t really expect an answer here but it’s worth a shout, I play soccer at youth level and recently I got feeling where a muscle or something like that just “teared”. It’s a muscle connecting on the inside of the hip bone connecting to the stomach. I got professional advice and they said in the beginning it was a muscle tear on a muscle up on the bone. Just 2/3 weeks later I trained a full week of training 6-7 times and had a game that weekend. Just that morning a felt a little bit of discomfort on the hip because I think e slept on that side. Either way I dint think about it because I’ve just trained more than a full week with no problem. Well in the game it only took like 20 minutes til I felt it again. Not to the same extent but I couldn’t go 100%. The advice I got recently is now I’m just “overusing” the muscle (too much load) and because of that I can get the pain after a while. Though he also said its a hard muscle to rehab and its trough running and getting back to things.
What do you make of this because this is an injury that I feel should not keep me out for this many weeks, thanks in advance
These coud be used for rehab of fractures calcaneus? Please answer anybody
My right knee was severely affected when I sprained my right ankle last year. Please share some recovery with both ankle and knee alignment. Thank you guys.
All the things can go wrong really show how much of a machine are bodies are. Even the simple things can create all kinds of problems, if they’re done wrong. No interest in the medical field but these kinds of things are really interesting to me, just for knowledge’s sake, even for sports like soccer which I don’t watch.
I’m still waiting on Dario Scuderi injury, love the video, hope it could’ve been on this video, but keep up the good work
6:20 did he pause him self? Edit: OMG DR CHRIS RAYNOR COMMENTED ON MY COMMENT
Hey guys how about videos for people with inguinal hernias?! Can you show some excersises for this as I work on feet all day and lift a lot. Thanks please would appreciate it
nice video you should react to this on (Kankava saved Gusev’s life) next time 😉
Cool channel.:) Saw you did a Rugby vid awhile back. If you ever do a part 2, should check out Rugby League injuries specifically.
Defenders don’t (usually) aim for the attackers, they aim for the ball, but with the pace of the modern game, even the slightest mistiming ends up with a foot in the ankle. That being said, there are always ones that aim to maim
Great vid! But i don‘t really agree with comments on securing the airway. I don‘t know how it get managed in USA but here in Germany you should stricktly avoid moving around the tongue or stick fingers into the mouth. It actually is completely enough to put unconcious persons in recovery position! We don‘t even use biteblocks in emergency situation if the patient has a seizure
Thank you!! Just sprained my ankle trail running you are giving me good ideas to get well quick:)
Hey made it. There is a games called batman arkham sires. There are varies injures. I know it’s fake but I want to know what bones are been broken. Tnx
I think the clip at 5:56 was in part one, too. The yellow guy (Maecel Schmelzer) play this Session his 250 and 251 Game for the BVB.
Perfect timing. Just sprained my ankle on Sunday, sept 16 and found your channel. Getting ready to start the alphabet.
I watch this and it’s called football in England. I’m not too bad myself.
Been asking for a part 2 since the first one came out, great video
Great vid. I’m a fan all the way from South Africa
I’m liking this under duress. Your breakdown (pun intended) is awesome. The clinical descriptions helped.
YIKES, Poor guy! 13:15, exactly what I yelled at those guys the first time I watched it…” Get your fingers out of his mouth”. What a scary injury.
you guys are amazing, I love the content and it’s extremely helpful
Your channel is awesome Dr Chris. I’m sure time will bring the deserved recognition. Great quality and content.
You should do a part 2 for NHL/Hockey Injuries!! Also, love what you are doing! Keep up the amazing work
Soccer/football can be a dangerous sport Be sure to let me know if you have had a soccer/football injury in the past! Share this video with someone you know who is a soccer fan! If you know of a soccer injury that I missed, let me know in the comments!
How Ramos didn’t get a match ban injuring salah arm shock me. Iwas thinking he deserves 1 year ban
You should learn a lot from Unflexal if you’d like to know how to training good and be more wholesome.
The only major injury I had was 10 years ago when I was 4 and I broke my arm
And I do sports so it’s not like I don’t do anuthing
Your the only and best docter youtuber I know and I subscribed
Great ideas guys! I’m a PTA but I still love watching your videos! Usually there’s at least one thing per video that i hadn’t thought of before that I can add to my treatments. Today I learned that new exercise for IR/ER that I’m sure will be a fun addition for my teen patients. I always have trouble coming up with high level exercises for knee patients who want to get back to running. I would love if you guys could do a video like this one but for knees. Thank you!
That’s great but it’s too painful and kind impossible to do.
Bob and Brad thank you for making these wonderful videos I have learned a lot from your videos Livewell harm no one✌
You should react to Santi Cazorla’s injury, the guy lost 8cm of his Achilles tendon
Very good advices, thank you! But why do you act as two bad sport journalist?? So annoying. Maybe because I am a woman.
My friend sprained her ankle badly. Cracked talus. I told he sprains can be bad but hers is slow to recover.
These are great exercises to know. I especially appreciated your comments about the hip abductor and how it, and the whole leg needs to be rehabbed and strong to be back to normal. I have had SO MANY injuries to my ankles and legs and only once have I had a PT give me any of these exercises. And then it was only with the bands! So, this is just great for me. With these I hope to prevent any further falls. Thank you!
THIS IS WHY I DONT PLAY SPORTS IVE HAD TOO MANY INJURIES ALREADY
I’m so glad you are uploading again I love your videos keep up the good work!
Definitely one of the best 14 min. Of my life. ❤ Im starting this today.
Hi their Dr. Chris
My freind, Ash
Was injured in a car accident
The Steering wheel pushed down on her femur until it snapped. Also, her ankle was shattered. What would have to happen to her when she was taken to the hospital, (this was several years ago )
Thanks, Bob and Brad! I went through all of your ankle injury videos this week when I got a sprain while walking my dog. I feel so much more informed and know how to proceed and the best exercises to get back on the trails faster.
why am I warching this this does not look healthy but its a nice concept for a viedeo
Very timely video for me; as I broke both my ankles in a freak incident two weeks ago.. I will be bookmarking this video for my rehab stage definitely not there yet but my crutches will come in handy to help during those hopping exercises. I will get the doctor’s go ahead first, though before trying. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us I enjoy your videos.
Also, I ordered some resistance bands! And love your Amazon products recommendation page!
My sprain is so bad i cant even do the ABC’S let alone the band excersises.
its been sprained for 2 weeks and ive had an ankle brace on it
Does this also work for stiff ankles that has not been used due to non-bearing weight of tib fib fracture surgery?
Dude you are like the only youtuber that’s actually educational. I watch this with my brother because he is a doctor
These videos are amazing! Great explanations and love how much fun you guys have together:)
Hi Chris, can you watch luke shaws leg break, it happened about 3 years ago and was out for about a year and a half and it looked awful, but that makes me wanna see you react
Hi, can i ask? i have my ankle fracture for almost 2month, and my doctors remove the cast or cement, they told me their is a little fracture inside the bone, its ok if i do the exercise?
I’ve never sprained my ankles but I roll my ankles all the time! At least once a day I roll one or both of my ankles. I roll both to the outside of my feet. I even used to stand on the outside of my ankles. Anytime this has happened, the pain ranges from non-existent to maybe a two. I’m just wondering if this is normal or not. I do have high arches.
11:42 that’s just a horrible injury but that’s the hard part of soccer rules that’s no rulebraking from the goals because he got the ball without going trough the attacked, even though he tackled the living shit out of him the rules would argue that the attacker shouldn’t be in that situation because he’s second into the situation. This is just unfortunate because the attacker would obviously not want to run into the challenge if he got the chance to break but the speed of play in this sport at the highest level is too fast so you can get caught and this happens. That’s a part of the sport that I I gets too much rules supporting them is the goalie, the rule book often protects the goalie but more often than not the attacker is the one getting messed up because the goalie gets trained to punch the ball = which could lead to punch the head, and jumping up high into traffic and collecting the ball, when they do that they can protect themselves with both knees and shoulders which also could lead to a knee in the head.
Keep it up! Also, you should do a part 2 of football injuries. And include the injury to Johnny knox.
P.S. I love how you ended the video from Monty Python and the Holy grail.
Thanks for the video really informative and fun, ive had an ankle injury since late last year and it comes back when im playing soccer and do difficult turns and tricks id sprain it again. Ive gone to the physio but its really expensive (went to 3 sessions). Would youse recommend surgery
The injuries are all terrible. But 4:00 the trainer running tho…….
Dr don’t do rugby union injury s you will give yourself a heart attack?
I was wondering are hip flexors something that can’t go away like u can ease the pain but it will come back later or can it fully go away
What I’ve learned from watching all of these injury videos. Human legs get damaged a lot. My legs need more stabilization
Can these exercises work on an old ankle injury that flares up with overuse?
Hi guys
Could you guys please make a video on Peroneal Tendonitis?
For part 3 review Luis Montes injury. It was one of the most dramatic ive seen. Awesome video
Also the player he got injured with, they both suffered injuries
I started tearing up when I started seeing members from both teams help the players with low consciousness. I know it’s silly because at that point, winning the game doesn’t matter because someone’s life is on the line but I’m so used to seeing seeing American football players completely ignore other members of the team (not necessarily revolving around injuries, just interaction) so it tainted my perception and I assumed all sports were like this (If you couldn’t tell, I’m not knowledgeable on any sports). I don’t know what it is but it just warms my heart to see stuff like that, even though it’s so minor.
Hey guys is it possible to do the “how to walk, sleep, and drive…” but for a pinched femoral nerve where the pain goes down the front of the thigh. I would REALLY appreciate it. Thank you
Wow thank you! Start rehab my ankle this month after sprain. I can feel sore already when trying on the alphabet J. I can feel it is working.
Probably a long shot but how about you do waterpolo or handball injurys, i mean not the most popular sports but quite a few injurys
Yet again awesome display gentleman! The information you provide is invaluable. Thank you
i played premier and odp soccer growing up along with boxing, kickboxing, and some wrestling. the worst sports injuries i have ever had all came from soccer. 8 concussions, a broken wrist, 2 broken ankles, and an osteocondroma(sp) on my femur right above my knee that i kept secret for 3 years. the last one made my ortho tell me that i was, “a fucking idiot that is too tough for my own good” after showing him and right before telling me that i was going to have surgery the very next day. dr. kody in spokane, wa, the best ortho ever.
Thank you!! I’ve been feeling really down recently after spraining my ankle. Afterwards, my other ankle started hurting as well. My knees flare up in pain sometimes and I hurt both my wrists as well. I’m an active person and was planning to workout more during quarantine. But unfortunately that happened. After I found you guys, I started doing rehab exercises I learnt from both of you and it helped a lot! I can now hop around a little and walk pain free!
Can hip flexor pain lead to cracking in the hip? I am trying to self diagnose since we are quarantined
The worst soccer injury I’ve seen. Was a goalkeeper called Peter cech getting his skull fractured
What were y’all saying to Heather during those butt squeezes?
