Is in Denmark normal mix up English with danish? It’s odd that sometimes they speak danish and sometimes English
I love your channel and use your app regularly! Thank you for such great, informative content!
They were running so fast that their legs were blurred.
It’s either that or the person who posted this has absolutely no clue how to process video.
I’m 18, I ran a 1:13:35 half marathon just over a month ago…nice race man that’s a great time
4:45 these people got me messed up. They really played Darude Sandstorm at a half marathon
OMG, that British announcer is unaware of how racist his comments were when he was lauding the “western runner”. Nothing wrong with having a favorite runner but his reasoning is super racist. Start listening at 1:53. I didn’t realize that elite runners were saying that it is pointless to race against the east Africans.
In September i ran my first HM @ 1:58:33 ( 5:33/km pace), without specifically training for it. Last year November i started running and in the meantime found my long-distance pace to be 5:45 where i feel i can go on forever. So when i went to Budapest for the HM, i went with the goal of sub-2h and did it. At the same time, i really met my limits for the first time, when i tried to push it on the last kilometer, but my legs completely refused to go any faster. That was something i’ve never felt before.
I’ve done a Sub2 HM with close to no preparation. Not that hard. Sub 1:20 is HARD
“There’s a very good bakery around here but they don’t have time for that” 31:55 Cracked me up
These guys are AMAZING! Imagine being the top marathoner in your state. “Yeah, I run a 2:13 with a 2:10 PR! That’s what’s up!” THESE guys, “Oh that’s nice. You should come in at least 150 th place!” Yo, BIG props to Rupp!
Thank you for this helpful video on half training! Thanks from Canada for km.
how many times a week do u do strength training? Is strength training at the gym absolutely necessary for runners? If yes what kind of workouts will help achieve a sub 2 hour half marathon?
This is a very scenic route. Love every moment of this video. Thanks for sharing!!
In my opinion the marathon is not only a race against other people it’s a mental battle and a battle against fatigue, all of these competitors are warriors
please do a 30k race. Keep it up all the way to ultra distances.
Finished 1:49:55 in my first half marathon! Didn’t really train for it, but I’ll definitely do that for a full marathon. My target now is 3:30, keep a 5 min/km pace, will look into your app!
Just found your channel man and i’ve subbed! I really do want to run sub 2 hr 40 in the marathon! My pb is 1 hr 22. I only started running 4 years ago and i feel like i’ve hit a wall in my improvement…
I’m running my first half in 4 days. I did my long runs at 6 min/km (9.40 min/miles) which didn’t feel too hard. A 10k I did last year was at 5 min/km (8.03 min/miles), other 10k/12k races were a bit slower around 5.20 min/km (8.35 min/miles).
Could I shoot for a sub 2? So 5.43 min/km (9.10 min/miles)? Found this video a little late and only incorporated 15 min of race pace in my last “long” run. I did track workouts and shorter tempo runs. I don’t want blow up at the start going out too fast, but I also don’t want to finish without having run my best.
Any tips would be appreciated!!
Love this video and it really helped. Ran my first half marathon ever and did it in 2:03. just missed the sub 2hr, but was still happy with it. I would like to get your input on running in the heat, it was 85 when I started and got into the 90’s. Is it simply dialing back the pace? Thank you all for the great videos, very beneficial.
I ran it in 2h37 Ben but I’m 15 so I think it’s a good time. never saw you there unfortunately!
Now if the race announcers could have just mustered a little enthusiasm at the finish.:o)
Ok race commentary, you messed up. All those times in the first 20 min, you talked about the Scandinavian record holder going at “world record pace” when he was running with a pacer and one other guy. That wasn’t Kamworor! He was with a bigger group. Can we be more accurate at identifying Kenyan runners? You can’t just look at the jersey color.
did my first half today 3:10 it killed me as I did no training, shall I do a few 10ks before my next one?
I think you should do a bit on recovery runs and pace I think alot will like that
greeting from Surabaya Indonesia..Good Morning! Thanks a lot.
Quick question, how much time should the average person running 4 times a week take to run a sub 2h HM time when starting off with a HM time of 2:19? Will vary from person to person but looking for a rough timeline if possible! Thanks! ♀️
That’s 13:18 three mile pace, back to back to back to back and then some… WHAT?!
Imagine if you wanted to watch some gd content by you favourite top 100 player but they became an athletics channel 9 months ago
I get trypophobia when I see people cut holes in their shirts…
I just did a 15k run last weekend in 56 minutes and my family said I should actually join a club and train decently because I seem to have talent. They think 16km/hr average is fast but fucking hell, I don’t even think I can sprint 22/23 km/hrs, let alone keep that pace for an hour.
I mean if people would just ran faster then they would break records
Did one today without one day of training lol finished in 2:02
I gave this marathon training “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) to my running-addicted brother a couple of years ago, and he is been following the training guide ever since. He had been the 4th placer in a Nationals-level 12k race in this age bracket last week. You should go for this training if you`re get yourself ready for marathons along with other distance training..
Imagine being the guy in 2nd or 3rd place and seeing this dude whip out a camera and just start talking like its a casual morning jog
I enjoy watching your videos to get better at cross country and track
pinches motoristas.. solo van estorbando.. y distrayendo a los lideres..
Anyone else noticed the avengers theme song at the finishing line.
I run a half under 1:45 and I could do it a lot faster if I didn’t have piriformis..reallly sucks cause I can’t really speed at no point during the run
Determination! Talent! Strength! an inspiring race. Feels to me that this world record could stay for a long time.
The most ive ran is 10k today im just gonna yeet a half marathon
2:18:12
Bronze medalist in Athens was Vanderlei Cordeiro from Brazil.
Well done Ben! However i don’t get the hype with Stance socks. I got 2 pairs cos of course i fell in the trap but i find them very average. Only casual wear for now on. Back to proper running socks.
This is the game that you cant cheat.
Africans congs as usual
Always enjoy catching your training and racing videos on Youtube, the idea to race a sub 3 hour marathon while live streaming is awesome!, last weekend I might have experienced the worst weather for a half marathon in Christchurch NZ, it was freezing cold & raining hard causing some flooding on the course but still great fun.
Well done Ben this UK summer Pants so far hopefully it will improve
watching this in June 2020, I am a proud Kenyan, but our fuxked thieving politicians they steal all the patriotism from my heart
They start their own watches..the check thier time and kilometre are they too fast or too slow etc
this would be my 5th half marathon. How important is to bring my own bottle of water and race with it vs. getting water at those stations. I’ve done a few half marathons where the stations are puddles of water making it very slippery and how much time should i factor out when stopping for water?? Thanks. Love your channel.
no fair! he only had to take a few steps with that giant stride haha
I loved watching this. It was really cool seeing Galen Rupp coming in to win the bronze.
Great video. His pace kept me motivated to run longer than I usually do. Thank you for the video.
If an hour were two minutes shorter, would the marathon world record be four minutes faster?
Endurance and perseverance at work. Kudos to all the runners.
My first ever half marathon was last week, I finished in 2:08:30 so I need to take those 8min out of my way… The course was hilly and the last 3k were uphill. I started slow with a pace of 6:40min/km and at 18km I was running at 5:05min/km. Those last 3K just ruined my pace a little bit. I was very happy in the end though.:)
I love the videos.
I am 49, and in only my 5th run EVER, today, I did 13.5 km. It was strange, as the last 3.5k seemed to take forever, and my ankles seemed to start to hurt. I don’t think I was ‘pushing off’ the ball of my feet properly.
Not sure if you guys still read these comments, but I just ran my first half marathon and finished at 1:58:19! Thank you for all the tips you’ve given on this channel!
Thanks for the video. It got me thru my treadmill run. I am surprised how steady your cam was. I tried other running videos and they were so unsteady it made me nauseous. But your video was great.
I just did my first half this last Sunday 1:52:36. Your videos really help me
This big guy after the finish.. damn man..give the man a moment.. instead of immediately taking pictures with him and push him with the record piece of cartboard for your marketing shit. No respect and he don’t understand a bit of how deep a person has to go to run this time on a half marathon.
Great video and tips. Just found out that my half marathon pb was declared void as the course was 160m too short!!! Need to work extra hard to finally get under 2hrs and these tips are sure to help thanks.
People like you make the boring treadmill runs of 1000s of people like me enjoyable. Keep up the selfless, good work! Thank you!!!
how long would tempo runs be for if extended these tips for a marathon?
I am shooting for a sub 2 in 3 weeks! Came close at a really hot and muggy half not too long ago. Hoping that timing with weather will help me out some too!
Thanks for posting this, it brought back memories, I was 17 the last time I was in Niagara falls.
My grandmothers sisters family live there.
ran half the distance alone without breaking his form. amazing.
Congrats! Great seeing your videos, just got sidelined from any activity after some unexpected surgeries so watching this video has been great! Makes me anxious to get back to it!
abraham kiptum this not only a win i salute you as a person but also, you lost a mentor a person who actually started this jamaica senior may his soul rest in peace, this win means alot to family, kudos buddy

Finally an American taking the trouble to do the metric conversions thank you!
Really immersive video…love it! And great footage of the falls. You can totally feel how the ground rumbles.
Love these videos. I am much more motivated watching as I do my treadmill runs. I feel like I’m there. Thanks for taking the time to make these.
Hi Ben I’m your new subscriber from Miami..just love watching all your videos, you’re so much fun and a very positive guy.I just started my training for Miami Full this coming February.I’m learning a lot of things from you.I love your hat,I’m gonna get one for sure.Just keep what your doing..your changing lives
Hi Ben. What are your favourite or unmissable routes and trails to run in Cham? Aside from the track!
OMG it was so good! Thank you for this, it helped me remember the time, when I run my first half marathon!
Thanks for the video!Doing my first half marathon in September and I’d love to hit sub 2 hours. It’s not exactly a couch to half marathon kinda situation as I have some fitness from badminton but it’s definitely gonna be a challenge!
I’m at the stage where I’m running 5 miles at a sub 2 hour pace (5 miles being my current long run distance). Am I going too fast on my long run?
I hope to build my long runs up by a mile or so every 2 weeks.

My first half marathon was last Oct…I did it in 2:05. The course was hilly. My next one is tomorrow. Will let know how I did. Oh and I am a female in my mid fifites.
Great scenic route. Watched this doing my corona treadmill run today!
Lastimosamente anularon por dopaje, seria una de las más rápidas detrás de la de kanworor
I agree with Sage Canaday, pro Ultra Marathon runner with Hoka and coaches himself in marathons and ultras, I think there should be a 50k Ultra Marathon event at the Olympics. Maybe a off-road trail 50k.
Long run question. Are you saying within the long run (at my slower pace) I should be throwing in 20-40 min at race pace toward the end of the run? thanks!!!
It’s funny how you’re running, you’re laughing and you’re still talking like you’re going to trot and the others are slowly dying behind you.
that’s an average pace of 4:26 per mile, for 13.1 miles. I can’t wrap my mind around that pace.
VIDEO IDEA: Hi, Im a proud subscriber of you guys, a sub 36min 10,000m PR and I’m also currently struggling with something called “Osgood schlatter disease” and I was wonder if maybe you could make a video about this problem, and how to achieve the fastest possible recovery? Thanks!
Proud subscriber,
Josh.
that tall man running with the leading women is a complete d*ck. the race operators should have him move over and get out of their way, he isn’t in contention for anything.
Eliud Kipchoge This man has had too many phenomenal moments. Legend
videos are very informative. the HM training is ‘free’ but only when you’ve signed up.
I remember this. Since the Mens Marathon was the last event in Rio they had the medal ceremony at the start of the closing ceremony.
That has to be cool to not only make the podium but to be presented the medals in front of all the athletes who were still in Rio for the closing ceremony
how is this a fair race if not everybody gets the same starting point?.
Love how when they get water or sponges they all make sure to pass it around the group so no one misses out. Lucky to experience doing this in my latest half marathon race. True feeling of sportsmanship
Lol imagine pouring your heart into a race, dying from fatigue and then just seeing first place going “YO! Wuts gud guys, winning this half marathon right now, you know, the usual”
He ran half marathon in 57.59
You are taking his interview as he finishes it…let him breath!

My 2 mile pr of 8:49 is what this guy runs for 2 miles….but he runs that back to back almost 7 times.
I’m doing the dublin half marathon this year. I’ve done 16k 2 weeks ago and did it in 1 hour 27 mins
I started this run on my treadmill when lockdown started, I couldn’t run more than 3km 0:28:06. But today I finished the run ♀️ in 1:43.46.
14.08km. Thank you for putting this run up i have been truly blessed by this ♀️
Hello there guys i saw the hole video and its amazing and admiring to see how strong you guys run you all are a nice team greatings from a runner from tijuana,bc god bless you all be safe good times will come from the of the tijuana runner
1:54:38, like the commentary. “With right amount of hardwork, no reason why Western athletes can’t compete w/ the East Africans.” The Chinese commentators all say that too, in sprints and basketball. Not everyone is Yao Ming or Jeremy Lin. LOL!
So just another max doped runner from Kenya. The mob just needs a circus and bread so they wont revolt.
Very-very good Video…
Thanks…World Record…
B. R. A. V. O.
Forever… Copenhagen….
Huge props to the guy from NorthKorea, not only was he able to hang on to the pack for most of the run, but he placed fairly high aswell, with a pretty good time. North-korea doesnt have the facilitys to train these athlete. and the guy probably never had any real experiences of a marathon, like in the crowd and the atmosphere in the pack.. so huge props bro, saw u collapse near the finish. Fighting till the end… (Yes, north korea bad, but this guys spirit good!)
Well done Ben. Hope to see you both in Cham. We will be making our way around the 23k ( slowly. Our target to beat the cut offs ) but… Doing It! should be somewhere on Marathon route shouting out for you
During my LSD I never had any cramping issues, but during my actual HM (did 2 already) I almost got cramped leg and I need to walk to prevent that.. as you mention, I think the reason behind this is my starting is too fast and I worn out pretty fast after 13-14km.. my best HM time so far was 2H14min, that was including 7 times walking during race.. next time I’m gonna start slowly first then build up speed after 10km
For me is also the wind. I did run this year half marathon of Paris and it was very windy. Man, i see you run and even at that incredible pace (for me) you look like you doing a walk in the park. Good job and congratulations for the awsome youtube chanel. (Sorry for the bad english).
Ben great going there. Im very interested in how you became a 2.25 marathon man. I’ve ran a 1.14.11 half (granted last Mile 5.22, so scope for improvement surely) but the thoughts of doing it twice in a row are scary!
Back running after a couple years Rest and my long term goal is a sub 2.30.. what’s the secret?
you may have won this race but you will not win the RACE WAR:))
What a beautiful run. Really enjoyed it. Thanks so much!: )
Obrigado pelo vídeo. Muito útil para correr na esteira.
A visão do Niagara na chegada é de tirar o fôlego. Uau!
I watched this video, “Half Marathon Pacing Strategy,” and “Half Marathon Race Day Tips and Logistics” repeatedly and followed the advice, and ran my first half marathon 1:48:03. Without these videos, I wouldn’t have been able to do this. I can’t appreciate enough. Thank you so much. I started to watch “How To Run A Sub 4 Marathon” and aim at running my first full marathon in 4 hours.
good video. 2hr14min PB for me to beat on my second attempt this weekend
Amazing video with just the sounds of the street no announcers. I hope there are videos like this!
NO IMAGINO LA HUMEDAD QUE HABÍA…LLEGARON VACIADOS.GRANDES TODOS
the dude side shuffling for 5 minutes to the finish line had me dying what a beast
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that they played the Madagascar music in the background
59:06
When u run 21km for 59min 15 second but you got no 2
Thanks for the video, great content as always. Quick question: if your race pace is 9:00 per mile, what’s your recommended pace to start out at and for about how long?
While long distance runners always warm up before racing, they should always leave them a few second or even a minute to let them cool down instead of subjecting them to a sudden stop!
middle of the pack OMG SOMEONE W A VAGINA. lol.. let’s stick to top 3 humans.
That was shear madness.Anyway that’s how many a. Kenyan rubs for the records or nothing else!!
I finished my second half-marathon last Sunday. I was aiming for the sub 2h but finished in 2h00m38s.
38 seconds…:)
BBC NEWS: kamworor breaks world half marathon record.
Mo Farah: Hold my diapers. lol
Mo always picks easy races,he needs to race with Topnotch runners like Kamworor. He only picks races he can win. The only race he picked out of his league was the 2019 London marathon and he got smoked but he is a good runner though
Why am I watching this I can run sub 2 hour marathon easily and I only run to get in shape
ran my first half in september at 1:40 then second last sunday at 1:33. really trying to do sub 1:30 now and im so excited to get there
What I like your video is, you always happy and smiling
That was fun to follow along. Good pace group too. Hung in there most of the way. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Ben! I’m gonna run a half marathon in October and i’m trying out some fuel for the race. Which timing do you use for your 2 Maurten gels?
How is the video length 57:31 when the world record is 58:18
Imagine for training months on end to win a half only to have a guy vlogging beat you like it’s a walk in the park
he is from yemen. you can prove from historian Taye Boagle tole
im 13 and i ran a solo half 2 weeks ago in 1:54 and ive been running regulary for 5 months
Last half was 2:01 i had no idea how close i was dang it!!! Ok thanks
love your awesome channel ben! So inspiring! Wish you all the best at the mozart 100 in my home country! Be prepared for 30 degrees, it will be fu**ing hot on saturday! but salzburg is worth the travel and sweat.
Greetings from austria

52:50 Bekele really thought it was gonna be his last Olympic games
awesome content Ben, I love your vibe! You and Sarah are the best motivational vloggers!
It is funny when the israeli runner actually looks like an arab. Paid actor.
Hate running in wind, nothing worse for me! Will you be bringing out any new merchandise soon? More hats or even shirts or vests etc?
Abraham Kiptum is a threat to the marathon record. He is a man to watch.
1:17:19 if I were running the Olympic marathon I would definitely triple knot. I can’t believe these guys shoes come Un tied
Thank you for that! you’re right, I should only focus on what I can control when it comes to my running form. From now on I’m going to use that philosophy vigorously
Oyyy before zersenay only 4 second. I hope zersenay or another eritrean runing again broke the men’s world record.
congratulations heros man.
Gracias…..I enjoy it so much I never run a marathon or 5 k or nothing your video got me close to the experience of been in one… now Im watching when Im in the treadmill and its becoming a goal to acctually run one….One more time MUCHAS GRACIAS….Keep posting your videos.!!!!God bless!
First half-mara coming up early in June. Currently doing 3 10k’s a week on around a 5.15-5.20 pace per Km. (In addition to Kickboxing and Taekwondo)
Awwww…. Right after crossing the line, he hugged his boyfriend… What a scene… Marathons… World records… Are to be broken but LOVE is forever.:)
The pace those men and women are running at for that distance is downright incredible
Marathon is the real race of the olympics…Its the event where it all started
So what, I’ve driven 13 miles in like 9 minutes and I’m not even Kenyan
The poor North Korean out there running for his life… literally…
Second and third place ran really fast times as well ( 58:33 and 58:44). They must have been thinking, “Fuck this, man.”
You’re the kind of content creator i’ve been waiting for on Youtube for years! The kind of weather conditions I hate are when there’s very little oxigen in the air and the humidity hits you in the face the minute you start running! Congrats on your win btw!
Always influence by Eastern Africa Specially Eritrean, Ethiopian and Kenyan
Still think there is strong chance epo is making the difference. If you watch lance armstrong and then watch the clips on wide spread use of epo in kenya with easy access and big paydays to africans who have no money and have nothing to loose to feed family and have a good life after getting a big payday makes it almost a sure things that the epo is helping them along with the flynet 4 percent shoe to obtain these new records and grab the cash. I can guarantee you if the money was a few hundred bucks these records wouldnt happen. Even testing doesnt show epo use everytime just look at how lance disguised it
Well done Ben. I enjoy your videos. My son has run there. about the same time you did. His day was sunny and warm!
Ran back to back half marathons over the weekend! 1:54 and 1:57! Thanks for your videos!
OK, Im exhausted from just watching, back to my Taco Bell lunch, bye
Nice work! Glad this vlog came up in my recommendations, as I’m training for a marathon as a complete beginner and could use both the motivation and tips. I’m vlogging the whole process, which has been a great way to document the process. Can’t wait to document a race like this!
Congratulations on the win!
Notice in the end of the race they were playing Avengers theme from Marvel lol
Thank you guys for doing this. The plan looks solid and absolutely a got workout. I would like to add something that is not a workout tip but more a mental thing.
On a SUB 2 Hour half marathon, at the start line do not start up front or close to it because that’s where the faster runners are. Start almost all the way in the back.
During the race you will pass more people and that will give you a mental boost. If you start up front you will be passed by a lot of runners and that will feel discouraging during the race.
Also. Pick a target in front of you that goes about the same speed as you and try to (slowly) catch up to it. Keep doing that during the entire race.
Best time for me 1:52:18 and it actually was not that hard.:-) Felt Great.
Is Kipchoge striding w/ ball of his feet the contact point? For a marathon?
Hey guys I just wanted to thank you all for the video series on Half Marathon Training! I ran my first half this past Sunday in Düsseldorf and your series helped sooo much! I finished the race in 1:59:12. thank you again for the tips on everything, this channel has the best Information by far! The pacing tips worked perfectly for me!
Can I just humbly ask less experienced runners that are trying a half marathon please don’t get near the front of the pack on race day. I’ve literally seen people start walking at less than a mile in and blocking traffic and it’s so irritating to people that are trained and ready to attempt a goal. It’s good to sign up for a race but please keep in mind some people are really trying to keep a specific pace. It doesn’t buy you anything to get near the front.
Can anyone see what watch he’s wearing, just curious, is it a Garmin?
1:56:19
Kipchoge: You need some manners
Lelisa: I can’t breathe

Kamworor made our country Kenya proud by smashing the WR. Kenya celebrates you!
This guy could be the first human to break 2 hour marathon in a real race, he has the potential! Even Kipchoge can’t run a 58 min half marathon.
I always watch this video when I run on my treadmill. Feels not lonely..
ABRAHAM KIPTUM IS A CRIMINAL CHEATER!! He Should never be aloud to run profesional ever again. Its a shame that this dirty man can cheat so many other athletes who competes fairly. THIS IS NOT THE WORLD RECORD!!! THE WORLD RECORD IN HALF MARATHON IS STILL ZERESENAY TADESSE 58:23
Wait, if they had to drink water all along the way, what happens if they want to use the bathroom? Do they just hold it?
You should de-interlace the video before uploading to avoid the comb effect.
Hi I have ran sub 2 hr ( 1:56:54) Chicago half marathon with the guidance & tips shared by you. I am really thankful to you & your channel. Now the only problem is that I am facing is the pain my Left Calf. Are there any specific workouts for it to recover?
I mean, is it even healthy at this point? The guy is skin and bones..looks like a skeleton out there.
I really like the fact there is no commentary. For the first part of the race, anyway….
I did my first half marathon. 1:57:58🙂 so happy to be under 2 hours. The volunteer pace runner was amazing
Congrats on the subs Ben.
I’m enjoying your videos. I’m seeing comparisons with the changes I’ve made. Only been seriously running this year and aiming for my first marathon later in the year. Definitely not 2.20.
Just went under 19 mins for a 5k as my latest PB.
Keep up the good work.
And I hate wind the most as well.
No show of podium, trophy. C’mon!:) Big congratz on subs and winning! I just won first time in my category age m16-m29 at 10k race:D
What is your favorite Olympic moment of all time? Let us know in the comments below and it might be featured in the next #ThrowbackThursday!
My friend doping is rampant, and you can bet they will do a blood analysis on the top runners especially after an alleged world record. By the way I love the Kenyan runners as I competed against them in College and the Pros. I have zero respect for the Muslims runners from Morocco and Etophia as I have witnessed them cheating numerous times.
Hi, great video. Congrats. what is the best tactic for winning a marathon? Do you go out and do your own thing, or sit on the shoulder of the person in second and push at the end?
I’m at 2.13:( so close to sub 2 hour got 5 months to achieve it so fingers crossed
Thank you! This is the best way to run a tread while staying home and safe!
1:54:00 poor commentary. Using Paula Radcliffe a DRUG CHEAT as an example of someone who was able to beat the Eastern Africans
If there was a Kenyan running that race you would’ve been fucked.
Look at how my fellow Country man is turning Military heads from 2:10:25 onwards
Mmmmmmmm you have a point, coz he looked like he could have run at least,,,, well,, under the 58 minutes mark your right!!!!!!
What’s your max HR Ben? Ave 177 is up there. I think that’s about my max congratulations on the W.
mano, isso é extremamente incrivel, ele bateu o record mundial nos 15km tambem! ele simplemente bateu o record mundial nos 15 e correu mais 6km!!
Wow, another sweet, humble ‘speed demon.’ Almost cried myself when he broke down at the finish line.
I just ran my 6th half on Sunday, I am perplexed, I never felt stronger but totally missed my expectations. And I am not one to ever inflate those expectations. Any explanation?
Kiptum was suspended due to blood doping, sad…what an incredible run he did here, too bad he wasn’t natty
36:07 “You can see his teeth, and he’s grinning, a grinning kenyan means a tired kenyan…” very interesting observation but that’s pretty much for every runner buddy:-(
Hi I have pace around 10:30 min/miles. I want to run sub 2 hr half marathon on 23rd September 2018. Its only one week from today. How I can do that?
Congratulations Kamworor. Our next guy in line after Eliud kipchoge
Jesus. If you don’t run much…go outside and measure 100 metres. Then sprint it and see if you can beat 16.65 seconds…he did this 210 times in a row
i ran 1:32:32 with 2 weeks of training and i´m 16… just be a little hard to yourself
I did my first half marathon without watching this in 2hrs and 22 seconds last weekend, but please get me to run 1:20 sub half any suggestions
why would anyone throw their bottles on the same path they were on lmao
Helpful. Just did a 15k and next goal is Half. Question: intra-race hydration, energy gel….do most runners need it for the half or just you just worry about it pre-race? I usually avoid h20 stations and never have carried energy gels…..
Thanks I got 1:40.09 on my first half your videos help a lot
How to spend your time in lockdown?,
Watch someone running only running for 3 hours
why my legs become heavy and tired after 3 km run..and my not moving forward..i try my best to move my legs forward but i cant…plz help..plzzz hepl… I shall be greatfull for u for this I want to complete 5km…..
He got close to the finish line and looked back and no one else was in sight…. Wonder what that moment would feel like
Watching these guys finish the way they did, especially the last few finishers, I have more respect for how they finished the race. I know what that is like because I had to experience limping across the line, too. It’s painful because you’re literally giving all you have, and by the time you cross that line, you have nothing left. These runners are all great at what they do.
Incredible. I’ve been a distance runner for several years, but I’m certainly no olympian. Just a dude who gets out and runs on my local sidewalks. If I ran as hard as I could I might keep up with these guys for half a mile… MAYBE a full mile on a really good day, but I’d flop over dead at the end of it. No way for a full 26.2 miles.
A lot of people can run a 5 minute mile but only the elites can run 26 of them back to back
To all, God bless you all. Jesus loves you and is waiting patiently to embrace you. Including myself, it’s really important to repent and set your eyes on the Lord. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. God bless you all and love you all❤️
1:51:30 today for my first half marathon.
Motivational story:I start and after half km a chest pain make me stop, uturn and going back home. Then i start slow pace heading home and i change my mind and i told myself to try 5k. After 5k (25min) start feeling better and i said myself:let’s go for 10k. Between 7th km and 8th km i tripped and fall all over the place done my left knee and i though that’s it. 3-5sec i was on the floor but i picked myself up and i said:if i will recover for next 2km I will try 21 km.
I felt tired for last 5km and very tired for last 100 m
Amazing performance, a joy to watch. And the pace for Kipton? 4:27 per mile for….a half marathon!
Well Done Ben awesome as ever! Have you thought of the Hardmoors series they’re beautiful, hilly trail runs and are really good fun (slightly silly at times as their half is 17m) with a strong sense of community. There is a Hardmoors 30, 50, 110, 200…. you could celebrate your increasing subscribers too!
I love these throwbacks watching the beautiful countryside and how rio is meant to look
What is your worse weather to run in?? Wind, rain, snow, heat??? For me it has to be WIND!!
American >>>clearly juiced…but WADA is sponsored by Americans….
I did my 7th Half yesterday and I finally got below the 2:30 mark. I Really would love to get a sub 2 half but I lack time and I have no one to run with. Any recommendations on what I could do to get closer? I can keep up a steady 11:10mm for the entire distance but I do Run/Walks of 45:45.
@Ben parkes I raced there a few weeks ago in the army triathlon championships, very open windy course. I’m looking forward to the delivery of my getting it done hat. I ran yeovil marathon on the weekend. Managed 3.01.57 ♂️ so close but yet so far. But it’s only my 2nd marathon so it’s looking good.
Look at the spring in Abraham kiptums step all the way to the line what fitness that’s why he is the world record holder
Thanks for sharing your run. I enjoyed watching it. In fact, you have the same time I had on my 3 of 21K run. I am wondering, what type of camera you were using. I was using ‘GoPro’ but the image was so jumpy because I directly mounted it on my water knapsack. I want to improve my marathon run on my video recording. I would like to get an advice from you. Thanks in advance.
(1km-30km) Kipchoge: Let me pace you guys and run slow on purpose.
(35km) Kipchoge: Good bye.
that so easy i did that first try 1:42:29 https://my.racewire.com/result/7129744
06:10 North Koreas biggest honor ever right there. A North Korean getting to stand next to Kipchoge. I think North Korea peaked at that point.
Hi ben I am doing a 6 HR race around a circuit in October And then Yorkshire marathon 3 week’s later is it too much before the marathon I did 42 miles last time. what you think
Stupendous form by the Kenyan and that is world class running right there
I would love to get my hands on that singlet, where did yu get it from?
My first was in March. I did 2:10. If I was lighter and ate better I think I would do it.
There is a very simular lake at nottingham i’ve ran around a few times. Its always windy one side so i feel your pain. But like you say you gotta deal with it and you won! Excuses are for 2nd place
The announcer was wrong about Americans and Olympic marathon medals. Meb Keflezighi got the silver in 2004. He said the last American to medal was Frank Shorter. Again, this is incorrect.
Thanks for all comments shared!!!You are the best!!!Besides wind-heat is the worst, especially in countries like mine-Greece.But we manage -running in the evenings is a relief.I’m preparing for the Frankfurt marathon at the end of October.
Right on Ben!! Great work! Keep it up! your a huge inspiration!!!
erik you’re the man, didnt ge to catch it live myself, really grateful that you uploaded it so quick!
Nice one! Congrats on the win!:) Would have been fun to see more of the course and race from a runner’s perspective. I run almost all my races with a GoPro-camera on for the whole race. It does take some extra effort though and isn’t exactly ideal for a good time, but many appreciate seeing the course and following along. No where close to 21k (or 24k now) subscribers though:) So grats on that as well and keep up the good work!
Ben. Love your positive videos and your support for the other runners. I am doing Dorsey lake marathon next week so this helps
ive been looking for this!, its weird because its late recomendations by youtube after 3 days
What happened to global warming! Freezing in June! To much geoengineering
Born to run. Amazing stride length. No wonder noone kept up.
I’m pretty skinny but his arms are still like half the size of mine… so perfectly built for distance running
Thanks for another awesome video, I’m from Hawaii and to me running in our hot / humid weather is probably the worst it could be!
He could hardly believe it beautiful running. Congratulations Kamworor.
My best half marathon 1:57:58
My next goal get it under 1:49:59
The commentators came straight from a la liga match in Valencia!
It’s crazy how these guys hold this pace for 13.1 miles, top national high schoolers can’t even hold this pace for 3 miles
Rever essa prova inteira disputada no meu país foi emocionante. Admiração por cada atleta que cruzou e participou desta disputa Olímpica no Rio2016.
Satisfação e emoção em ver Kipchoge destruindo.
Thank you so much for your video. The footage is so steady and focused. It is getting me through my winter treadmill runs in the gym. Unfortunately, there is no WiFi in the gym and this is only video that I was able to put on my iPad (full capacity). I would love to be able to watch your other race videos. Any suggestions?
Some people don’t understand what just happened lol go and run bro for 500 m with his pace everything gonna be alright
Woooow….
Abraham have perfect style and technique of running
OK race promoters. Please stop with the bouquet of flowers. The last thing I would want after splitting my guts for 13 miles is flowers.
Actually more enjoyable to watch without some commentators droning on!
How do you run a half Marathon with a camera in your hand
Just ran my first half and got 5:55/ km or 2:09 min after only running for about 3 weeks although im an avid hiker and always have been in decent shape. Focusing on breathing is my main help
You seem like a great person and you are always smiling….. so i subscribed
Haven’t even started the video but subbed as soon as I saw you won while vlogging looking forward to more quality content
The course was mostly flat and down hill in Denmark so no wonder an easy World Record! Try running this time in Boston in the second half of the race-Solo and see what type and kind of time you run??!
it takes under 2 hours for Kipchoge to run a marathon but over three years to upload this video
In before this guy blows up! Looks like a great vlogger, really honest, likeable and good at what he does. Gotta say though I’m feeling inspired to run and will 100% avoid any events you attend for the pure joke of you blowing past me vlogging whilst I’m almost dying.:D keep up the good work!
Now the time has come finally. Zeresenay Tadese of Eritrea who holders the world record for 12 years has officially become former. Viva Eritrea we will have new world record soon. Congratulations new world record holder.
I know this video is kind of old but the first link in the description doesnt work.
Anyone that can run a 10km at 5min/km pace doesn’t need to watch this video. Move along and get out there. You’re ready.
I can only dream of a) running that far and b) running that fast!!
Awesome, thanks so much for the metric conversions. Keep up the great work!!
Step 1: don’t be totally out of shape. Step 2: Run it. I’ve done 22km in 2:10 after a work day, on an empty stomach, through wind and rain. I’m not super fit, just average. Ok, Me knees didn’t work for two days, but it still was a worthy experience for a first try.
His pace is about the same as what I record my finishing kick to be. What inspiration!
Was even the commentary on for the whole time? I would want to pee at least 2 twice in this time.
No sé lo que dices, no entiendo tu idioma pero me entretienen mucho tus vídeos, muy motivadores
Eliud Kipchoge is a joy to watch. He brings smile in my face. ✌
It seems that the2 hour marathon is really possible too.
And it is not going to be long.
Kommoro is only 27,he has a long way to go!
What happens at 1 000 000 k subs when will the pattern break?
Which Garmin is that? Looking to get one to train with as well.
Thank You.Wonderful reporting.Great video.Congratulations to All,especially to Mr.Kamworor.From Long Island NY.
Thank you for all the great content. I just had my half marathon debut after 2.5 months of practise. Perfect day and a 1h42….
I got a sub 2 hour half by about 4 seconds. Haha. I’m hoping to get a better time next month!
Pretty quick in those Nike cheat flys…isn’t it interesting that all the most recent world records have been set in them? It’s difficult to embrace the athletes’ performance when it appears to be an advance in technology.
When I was 17 ran 1hr 16min it means increasing your miles, ok you need to run at least 60ks a wk. Do a long run once a wk longer than the distance say 25 ks with a low heart rate. Its about strength not speed. Twice a wk run with a elevated heart rate called a tempo run for 45 min but still not feeling out of breath. Natural ability is still the most important your training builds on that natural ability. British runner in the 80s Steve Jones who ran 2 hr 7 Chicago in 1985 always said you need to become strong before you get fast. As a rule when you build a house the Base is first then the walls and finally the roof. The base is your mileage that’s your strength the roof your speed work track sessions 400s 1k intervals. You build on your ability over time.
This is great! I don’t know this guy, let me see what I see read about him. When you think the records are hard to break & no athlete will come close to Eliud Kipchoge, athletes produce even more fast times!
Will this make Eliud Kipchoge want to break the half marathon record too? I doubt, guys like Eliud are too disciplined to move around events. He might give it a try, but I don’t think he will give it focused attention like the marathon.
Only just found this one week out from my first half marathon! I’m 15 and have little experience running, so at the moment I’m just aiming to finish (hopefully under 2:30:00). But if/when I do another half marothon this’ll be the first video I visit!
I can’t believe I actually stayed up to 1:00 in the morning to watch the full marathon. But good job to everyone in the race! I also plan to run a marathon someday, ofc nothing near that pace.
Congratulations kenya they just keep raising the bar higher and higher.
Great commentary, great race, great to witness. Congratulations Geoffrey!!!
I tried, but the 2hour pacers got me at 18k got psyched out for 2k. Leading to 2:02:05
Pete Donegan is the aussie commentator. He calls a whole bunch of different sports in Australia and does it brilliantly. He’s one of the best we have ever had
Even the cyclists had a hard time catching up with Kamora. Congratulations for breaking the world record.
That is an amazing time considering the weather and vlogging!
