Ingredients 1/4 cup uncooked brown rice 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric 1 teaspoon olive oil 4 oz. tilapia fillet 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1 tablespoon.While the rice is cooking, heat olive oil in a small pan. Season the tilapia with salt, pepper and paprika; add fish to the pan, cooking for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until it is flaky when pierced with a fork.
After removing the tilapia, add 2 tablespoons water and the dried fruit to the pan.Rinse tilapia fillets in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper.
Place the flour in a shallow dish; gently.Instructions Place fillets on a large plate then rub the salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried basil and olive oil all over them. In a skillet (preferably cast iron) heat 1 tablespoon of oil on high heat for about 3 minutes. Turn down the heat to medium then add two fillets to the pan.Parmesan Pan-Seared Tilapia A Zesty Bite. flour, Parmesan cheese, tilapia fillets, panko, lemon, salt, italian seasoning and 2 more.
Keep the tilapia warm by covering loosely with foil. Add the minced shallots and garlic to the same pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until fragrant and soft. I think it was done long before he flipped it. I do love sushi though.
For clarification for other people, basically whatever side is flat goes up when you first put on the filet….so when you flip it the second time it’s cooked and presented better. I prefer to let the pan heat up for 3 min with a decent coat of olive/whatever oil, then cook medium flame 8-10 min per flip. Add the condiments like butter and garlic afterwards… many different ways to do it though.

Made this for the first time tonight. The only thing I didn’t add was the salt. It turned out so well! So flavorful and delicious. I ate the entire fish…just couldn’t stop. The sauce is heavenly!

Boiling the fish wrapped in a plastic foil is perhaps not a good idea. Plastic contains elements that may cause cancer. It would be unwise to do that.

@EatNowCryLater: I doubled the recipe since i fried two big whole Tilapia. Added thinly sliced red bell pepper just to use the leftover half piece i had in my fridge. The Sauce smelled wonderful with the ginger. The tender-crisp carrots, spicy ginger, sweet salty combination of hoisin & soy sauce all perfectly complimented together w/ the fish. As a result, my husband, who normally eats light at supper time, ate 1whole & a half of fish. Yup he almost forgot to share it w/ me:-) i have fina

Hubby bought a box of frozen Tilapia we grilled, fried & baked it. Never thought of putting sauce over the fried tilapia. I’ll surprise my hubby w/ this dish tonight. My favorite part of the fish is the head;)
