“In a move best described as despicable, Congressman Pallone and Senator Alexander are trying to sneak their Surprise Billing legislation into Friday’s COVID-19 bailout package.
We are all being asked to tweet the following people to let them know that sneaking in benchmarking legislation while we are confronting this pandemic is outrageous, especially as it disproportionately affects Anesthesiologists and ER Physicians who are risking it all right now.
I don’t use twitter and emailed my Congressman my disgust with this move and if you aren’t active on Twitter, an email will suffice.

The Alexander/Pallone agreement is not the answer. The agreement goes way too far and cuts reimbursements to doctors by as much as $100 billion just when we are doing everything in our power to fight the
Pallone/Alexander are trying to cut funding to physicians by as much as $100 million dollars in favor of insurers…
We doctors are the frontline of defense, literally saving lives, and Pallone/Alexander wants to undercut access by underpaying us?
You're putting insurance profits ahead of patients and the physicians who care for them, just when doctors are needed most.
Alexander/Pallone are trying to ram their agreement through without full consideration by both chambers and in the middle of a national health crisis. It could hurt access to care just when it is needed most.
On the flip side, it would be great to prop up Sen. Cassidy (@SenBillCassidy) and the STOP Act as the champion & bipartisan solution that protects patients and doctors.”
