Consumption of added sugar exhibits a negative impact on weight control. Stevia, with its almost non-existent calorie count, helps promote weight loss when used as a substitute for sugar (which contains 15 calories per teaspoon ). Stevia is also believed to help control cravings for.In fact, just one tablespoon of table sugar contains around 16 calories and 4 grams of sugar. Stevia, on the other hand, is free of calories and has been linked to several potential health benefits, including decreased cholesterol and blood pressure levels, better blood sugar control and increased insulin sensitivity.
It’s a sugar substitute called stevia. Stevia is about 100 to 300 times sweeter than table sugar, but has no carbohydrates, calories, or artificial ingredients. Not everyone likes the way it tastes.
Stevia is a nonnutritive sweetener. This means it has almost no calories. If you’re trying to lose weight, this aspect may be appealing.

What’s it matter if it takes a while to get into bloodstream if the sugar will eventually get there?
Please read this first: https://www.dietdoctor.com/how-kevin-hall-tried-to-kill-insulin-hypothesis-pure-spin
salsa makes anything taste better! my day is awesome…thanks for the support!
I’m usually having brown rice. Recently, I moved to brown flour as well and I must say it feels so much better, healthier:) I’ve never tried quinoa but I’ll give it a try as soon as you post some food recipes video with it:)
I eat corn like crazy (especially tortillas), and it does NOT make me gain weight.
we were NOT built to eat sugar every single day. The reason why we crave it is because the ancients were attracted to the nectar of fruits in between finding and hunting animals.
Did he just say… “sugar isn’t linked to type 2 diabetes”?!?!?!?!?!?! HOW??????? Normally a fan of Jeff but he is looking at the wrong sources on this one.
Just clicking on suggested video after suggested video and I got here but, I’m pretty sure I went to high school with you (HSH)? What a small world haha cool to see you doing your thing with so many fans!:)
How fukin cool, sharing what you know and how you make your videos
sugar isn’t bad on its own. it needs dietary fat to turn evil. yes, chocolate is satan. better snack on gummibears. there is no real food that is heavy in sugar AND dietary fat because nature doesn’t want to make you sick.
I agree with some things you say. However, there are several things that I find are not fully explored. Sugar, as you note, may not have a direct correlation with obesity per say…There are studies that show a bit here, and a bit there. But, there does seem to be a more than associative relationship between sugar and satiety. It’s more than being aware of marketing, and health claims on packaged foods filled with sugar but no real nutrition. Sugar, seems to have both an addictive quality, and seems to leave one feeling unsatisfied and wanting more in a short time frame. This tends to make most people eat more which leads to weight gain.
There is research that supports the addictive nature of sugar, and its potential to disrupt hormonal responses to food intake. all this can very much lead to weight gain. and eventually a cycle of dependence to sugar and sugary foods.
I lear about quinoa ( quinua ) back in PERU, where is very popular in the Andes, and you right is an amazing source of nutrientes, Ill try to share some great recipes, their is sooo many. cheers and thank you.
I can put like 500 cal of sucrose sugar in a big cup of water and it gives me lots of energy and makes me feel great. Totally kills any desire to eat too. Also notice strong body fat loss with this. Ever since I started doing this a few times a day I lost the stomach fat I could never lose. Not to mention I feel wy better.
If I drink 1 soda I feel like shit. Bloated. Just awful lol. I drink possibly 40% the volume as the example above yet I get far more bloated. Isnt the carbonation either. Shit just sits there. Also makes me instantly want to eat.
The criminals are fructose and all the random chemicals usually in sugary drinks. Naturally created sugars are wonderful and require very little processing.
Lmao the delusion is real with you bud so stupid if you actually believe this.
Great to see an in-depth breakdown of the various terms associated with carbohydrates!
wow shes so pretty, & she looks so familiar, i just can`t remember where have i seen her before, where?
The LIVER manufactures all the glucose you need. You are cliearly employed by the sugar company.
Great video… the only thing I would consider is that the body really does not need to ingest carbs. It can make enough to fuel our bodies as needed on its own.
um…why so much hate against starch? potatoes, rice, etc. aren’t bad.
except for the fact that the body isn’t built to get large amounts of its energy from fructose. fruit was a seasonal thing for our ancestors.
She should go to Okanawa and tell them to stop there diet of 70 percent sweet potatoes. Its pure sugar in her words. To much of it is not good. Even though they have very low diabetes and are slender and have the longest life ecpectancy. If carbs and starches are bad why is that the case? Also Japanese people eat white rice with every meal and there healthy and slender and live long. Please give me a response.
Why are people upvoting Mrdubs uncited post?
Sguar is bad for you because its empty calories, extra calories with no nutritional benefits, not because of some intrinsic property of sugar itself. It’s not a hard fact to deal with, if you’re counting calories its not the end of the world to eat some sugar.
I decided to make a follow up video to this one addressing some of the most commonly raised concerns including addiction, insulin and fructose… watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_n2L0pBpcI
Thank you for these great videos! Lots of misinformation out there especially about fruits.
Videos like this are very dangerous. Saying that “sugar causes [type 2] diabetes” (around 9:10 into video) is not entirely true…I will admit that you did say “if you eat too much of them”, but then you return your discussion to the culprit of sugar. Diabetes isn’t caused by eating starches. Intolerance of dietary sugar is a symptom of diabetes, not its cause. The distinction there is linguistically subtle but of extreme significance.
If it were true that high starch foods were the cause of the type 2 diabetes pandemic there would have been diabetes rabidly loose all over the world for most of civilization’s history…as the staple food of pretty much all civilizations (rice, barley, wheat, corn, beans, etc.) are grains. Even today most of Asia still consumes rice at every meal. Until recently (the last 30 years) type 2 diabetes was virtually unheard of in India and China. Today, diabetes is very common in India. Why did it change? It isn’t the addition of starchy foods to their diet…
The information in the video is not wrong, but could easily be misunderstood. It is extremely good for folks trying to control their blood sugar.
How much has earned this woman from those big brand names to say those BULLSHITS?
I’m dialectic, and was told popcorn was a snack I could eat???
Advert here was a water app that reminds you to drink water!!! If you need a reminder to drink water you’re a waste of oxygen
100g of sugar a day is 500 calories from pure sugar.
That is a lot. I think the WHO number of 40g or around 10% of daily caloric intake would be a safer bet.
The issue is more with things like satiety when eating high sugar foods. Sugar is good for getting you to eat more without getting as full. So while you could maintain your weight if you kept your calories the same and replaced carbs or fats with the same value of sugar calories, it would be very difficult to do mentally as you will essentially have to stop yourself while still hungry.
There’s no shortcuts to fixing up your diet.
Your english is great! I will be filming new quinoa cooking videos soon!
Dude, you are high. Overall caloric intake, regardless of the macro make-up, is A factor in weight gain/loss. However, you referenced a few studies but did not tackle the biochemical and hormonal responses to eating macro nutrients and their effects on the body. Your video title implies that sugar doesn’t make you fat. Did you take a collegiate level nutrition class? Carbohydrates (sugar) are broken down and absorbed into glucose in the blood. When the blood glucose levels in the blood get to high the pancreas secrets insulin. What does insulin do? It takes glucose and stores it as energy in fat cells. So, yes sugar literally makes you fat. That is a fact and not correlative.
I have lost 120 lb in 2 years it’s not. a diet it’s a life still you have to Dow whot worked for you it all so how much you eat and I cut back on everting and walk 10 000 step ever day and it work out its be a year and I am stell at my wight of 220 I stared at 345 it not easy but ever one can Dow it I am 52 and it was a battel I live in Louisiana were its eat everything so just keep your head up witch whot you eat and walk ever day good luck to ever on how is on this on thes walk
Great information, comes off a bit boring. Thank you for taking the time to put it out there though.
Jeff why do you use artificial sweeteners in the supplements you sponsor? Did you actually say sugar is not a central role in obesity that’s pure baloney I think the keyword is over consumption I cut sugar down to 10 g per day and I lost 32 pounds of fat
Love your channel but this “myth busting” seems like a stretch with current evidence.
first video that jeff’s made that disappointed me. I dont have the time to “prove my point” to a comments section lol.
This is one of the better explanations about the difference between fruit sugar and isolated sugars and the problem with processed foods and starches in terms of gaining weight or eating for a diabetic… does anyone have an alternate view or feel there is evidence to suggest anything off base about this explanation?
Well sugar has an impact on the insulin more than other foods..and it increases hunger so you obviously indulge more on sugary foods and other foods… has the same impact on your brain like drugs… So I dont really think its a myth busted science… but I would rather want to see how much sugar is okay consuming before it has that kind of impact on the body…
good information, myself I went on a low carb diet in December (200 grams per day was my baseline) so I had to make my carbs count so as to maximize nutrients so I ate apples, berries, some bananas (but not right away) lots and lots of vegetables, some winter squashes especially butternut which I came to love a lot, I stopped pop, (I used to only have one doctor pepper a day once in a while two) then I went to kombucha, but then I was still have problems with sleeping good at night (I have symptoms of hypoglycemia at night even tho I am not type 2 just prediabetic) so I gave up the kombucha because it did have caffeine, I was thinking the caffine (which came to 80 to 120 mg per day) was messing up my blood sugars and decreasing my appetite during the day and at night I would have these hypo symptoms that are relived when I eat something like fruit or whole grain something. I don’t count caloires, I eat whatever I am hungry for dairy, fruit, whole grains, I don’t eat bread in fact I am going to be making my own, I got really sick in January most of ht emonth with middle ear infections which I have not had since I was a kid many moons ago, the flu and then a cold. I had a fever for 3 days which I never have any fever last 3 days. now I am able to walk without ankle pain, I lost a little weight and I have more energy finally I don’t have cravings between meals, when I am hungry I just eat my normal fare and it doesnat take much to satiate me. it has been a awesome experience after striving on improving my heatlh for the past 20 years.I forgot to mention I do not have to use willpower to avoid eating the bad, I am getting so well fed that things that usually called my name don’t anymore. what a relief.
your missing the point of what she said, its not that bread has more sugar than the jellybeans, its that the jelly beans are half fructose, where the bread is all glucose, so the jelly beans take longer to get to your blood stream because your body has to first cleave off the fructose.
Even more reasons to pay attention to sugar and carbs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_ImE1Vn90g&t=24s
Whoa!! I just commented on your Facebook how much I like Brenda Leigh Turner! She’s awesome. Just bought some quinoa and going to try it in the next couple of days.:)
Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will really work for me? I notice a lot of people keep on talking about this popular weight loss secrets.
Why have you got the awful music overlay drowning the message?
whole grain pasta has away more fibre than any fruit, therefore the lady in this video is contradiicting herself
for time reasons…i just user a strainer…but soaking overnight and then rinsing is even better
Yeah but if your an athlete you can’t eat 6 cups of brown rice or quinoa, you need something more easily digestible like white rice.
Quinoa is definitely the healthiest and most complete package. Has a lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Rice is mainly just carbohydrate.
So basically if u eat snob wur daily calorie intake no matter what sort of macro it is u will gain weight?
If ur on a healthy diet and have a it of sugar during the day as in ur still in calories deficit it should be fine since ur body needs calories to use for energy correct?
Ok question is. Fructose (sugar ) get stored in liver not in the rest of the body opposed to glucose that gets stored wveybwere in our body, well can the liver reuse the fructose stored and turn it to glycogen to be used in the body if not enough glucose consumed?
i like sugar, it taste sweet, but:
To be clear though, sugar, like saturated fat, is a heterogenous class of compounds. Among the sugars, the monosaccharide, fructose, and the disaccharide, sucrose (fructose + glucose), seem to be of greater concern than the glucose alone (as a monosaccharide or as a polysaccharide in starch). The fructose-containing sugars seem to cause greater derangement when it comes to elevated insulin levels,55, 64, 65 reduced insulin sensitivity,66–68,69, 70 increased fasting glucose concentrations,71,72 and increased glucose and insulin responses to a sucrose load.55, 64 Providing liquid fructose supplementation to a western-type diet in mice increases lipid burden and atherosclerosis despite identical calorie consumption.73
Fructose, as compared to glucose, increases oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL);74 and the effects of oxLDL on vascular cells cause pathology commonly found in atherosclerosis and CAD, such as endothelial cell dysfunction/apoptosis, foam cell formation, abnormal vascular tone and blood flow, inflammation, increased cell adhesion molecule expression, pro-clotting, and increased intracellular oxidative stress.75 The level of oxLDL is significantly higher in patients with CAD, and the sensitivity of oxLDL for predicting CAD is substantially better than the Global Risk Assessment Score (GRAS), calculated using multiple risk factors including age, TC and HDL, blood pressure, diabetes, and smoking (sensitivity 76% for oxLDL vs just 20%, for GRAS). The specificity of oxLDL is 90%, thus, fructose’s noteworthy ability to increase oxLDL in humans undoubtedly increases the risk of CAD.
Additionally, fructose increases the levels of advanced glycation end products76, 77 — which, in turn, may lead to dysfunctional macrophages entering the arterial wall and contribute to atherosclerosis.78 Oxidative stress, reactive oxygen species forming in the heart and aorta, and lipid peroxidation may also play a role in fructose-induced adverse cardiac effects.79, 80 So might an increase in sympathetic nerve activity.81
Added fructose—generally in the forms of sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in processed foods and beverages—also appears to be especially potent for producing diet-induced leptin resistance.82 Leptin, —the satiety hormone, suppresses hunger and regulates energy balance, and thus is a key hormone in the maintenance of normal body weight. Leptin resistance may be a fundamental cause of obesity,82, 83 itself a risk factor for CHD.84
Excess fructose or fructose-containing sweeteners also markedly increases risk for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) — the most common liver disease in the U.S.,85, 86 and a strong independent risk factor for CHD (probably in part due to associated systemic inflammation).85 The association between CHD and NAFLD is stronger than the link between CHD and smoking, hypertension, male gender, diabetes, high cholesterol, or metabolic syndrome.85 Markedly reducing intake of added sugars, especially sucrose and HFCS, can lead to NAFLD regression and, presumably, reduction of associated CHD risk.87, 88
Consuming fructose or sucrose has been found to increase myocardial oxygen demand, cardiac sympathetic nerve activity, and platelet adhesiveness.47, 89, 90 Feeding sucrose to rats causes the development of atheroma, the degree to which depends on the amount of sucrose (but, notably, not fat) in the diet.91 Moreover, feeding sucrose to rats, as compared to starch, significantly increases the lipid content (total cholesterol, and the free and esterified fractions of cholesterol, and TG) of the aorta.91 Finally, sucrose leads to increases in 11-hydroxycorticosteroids (for example corticosterone) in a proportion of human subjects, possibly also increasing CHD risk.92
This was a great video. I farm and take an interest in food trends. It’s funny how from year to year we change our minds on what’s healthy and what’s the new plague. Love the correlation/causation examples!
I KNOW! maybe if we add sugar it’ll become popular! i kid…
All those studies show that sugar is not to blame was funded by the sugar industry, get your facts straight and stop lying to people, processed sugars have no business being consumed at all… your a hack
Dude added sugar is terrible for you. Table sugar is evil and you know it.
Asian civilizations have lived on white rice for centuries and they are known to work well into their 80’s and even 90’s slim, trim, healthy and sturdy people!
So I know that you have a point, but.. Come on.. White rice is better than so much other stuff.
Love the video!! I’m am curious about sugar & gut health? That’s the current “trend” for those against sugar. I personal believe I feel better when I cut out sugar but like you mentioned, it might be more because I also replaced that with more nutrient dense foods. Just curious if you have come across any research on sugar and its effects on the gut. Thank you for the great content!
I’ve been eating Dave’s killer bread, 100% whole wheat, lots of fiber…so I know starches are sugar but if I’m choosing a lot more quality starch, would you say that is fine?
i used to drink energy drinks and coke i quit them and lost over a stone and half in a 3 weeks
This is all fine and good until you get really hungry, then all bets are off. The problem with diets and exercise is we want to have a one size fits all approach. Do you go into a clothing store to buy clothes and see all clothes the same size? No. There’s a lot of different sizes because there are a lot of different people. Do you go shopping for a car and go to the dealership to see all cars the same make and model? No. Same thing applies to getting healthy. You have to find out what works for you. What works for me might not work for you. So what does that mean? You have to experiment. Trial and error to see what works for you. For some people, a diet means salads and water, and for other people a diet means skipping the cookies before bed. So I would say the key to getting healthy is not diet and exercise. We all know that. I would say the key to getting healthy is trial and error. Yes, trial and error. Why? Because diets, for example, are of no value if you don’t stick to it. Most people diet for a few days, then quit. Why? Because they haven’t figured out a diet plan they can stick with for more than a week. Ok if that diet doesn’t work then try it again but change a few things. If it fails again then change a few more things. Keep trying and trying and trying until you find a diet that does work for a long period of time. The problem is most people don’t do this. Most people think there’s only one way to diet and that’s it. No, there’s many different ways to diet. You have to find what works for you.
Love your videos!:D
Just one question: how does black rice compare with these?
Just because I’m on a budget, I choose brown rice over quinoa
I usually trust Jeff’s opinions, but I’m going to pass on this one. I know how I feel when I eat something sugary. My teeth hurt and my skin itches. Plus sugary foods tend to be high in calories, low in nutritional value.
So the scientific rational behind the keto diet is b.s.? The whole idea of starving your body of carbs to force your body to burn fat for energy is not based in any real science? How do you explain the people that are doing the keto diet and losing weight even though they are eating alot of very calorie dense foods that are very high in fat? If all calories are the same, then those people should not have lost weigh.
watch this video please https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MSFmIptZv8
Sugar is a poison anyone disagrees with that is an ignorant piece of shit who got paid and even the studies many of them made by people who got paid
Best video I’ve seen on the subject well done.
Love White Sugar(Sucrose) It is better than Glucose and fructose individually. I noticed when videos spoke about bad sugar they kept showing white sugar. misleading!
They try comment about sugars being all the same, it is wrong white sugar is made up of glucose and fructose it is called sucrose when bonded together and it takes time to break down giving the body longer to materialize the substance.
So you can consider white sugar (sucrose) a slow release. Where glucose or fructose go strait into energy use and excess to fats to your liver and other parts of your body, it is used later, to convert back to sugars when your body is lacking energy.
Hence the obesity and cancers in people, Fructose is the main killer found in fruits and vegetables they are useful in small quantities but the excess is the problem. When they took fats out of food they replaced it with Fructose a big mistake.
Fructose is very low glycemic. However, it has 10 times the glycation index of glucose. Glycation causes more harm than glucose spikes. Fructose consumption leads to many more health problems than complex carbohydrates and glucose on a gram per gram basis. https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/abundance-of-fructose-not-good-for-the-liver-heart
This video is so retarded, it was the last video I watched from this chap.
i thought grains where bad for you im confused i eat quinoa alot??
i believe that sugar is the easiest way to over eat that is the correlation
this can also correlate to the bad life choices to heighten the effects
meaning
if someone is sad they have sugar
then they have more because they might not address the problem
then they dont stop
this is the way it correlates
a large portion of this persons calories come from sugar
this is when people blame sugar
Coming from a rice eating country, we tend to lean more towards quinoa and/or oats considering the carb content of rice. But the question really is, is Quinoa better than Oats? Which is which? Found this article online which was very helpful for me to decide: http://tmhmlife.blogspot.com/2018/08/quinoa-vs-oats-which-is-better.html
I need more people like you in my life.. My friend are all beer and takeaways..
You need to come to Ireland to workout with me:)
I pronounce Quinoa the same way too… Ill try do a full swap with the brown rice:)
check out my quinoa energy bar video…but i will be posting more quinoa recipes soon!
I think sugar can be used to your advantage. just spike insulin with sugar to store the nutrients you need. when you pair it with a lot of fat you will probably store it. used it before a lifting work out to get more muscle glycogen.
So between all your knowledge and that shirt being open….
you’re driving me crazy woman
So no ones gonna talk about how BREAD has more sugar than JELLYBEANS?
ok
Woa:) Thanks a lot! This video was greatly amazing and interesting! thankks!
Do natural popular lose weight secrets like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I have heard numerous amazing things about this popular weight loss diet plan.
the information provided in this video is for cooked oatmeal or not?
Check Dusty Shaw YouTube nutrition and fitness subscribe https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jSZ1JYAPovk&feature=share
could you watch the documentary called the “sugar film” and comment on it
the difference is too small between white rice and brown rice compare to your body so it is irrelevant.
Unsubscribed after this video. He’s more interested in being contrary, rather than helpful. This video shows absolutely no perspective as to the greater problem of sugar addiction, and it’s effects.
Seriously dude, your motivation here is alarming.
That or ya brain broke.
Love your videos Jeff…. but need to disagree here… u haven’t touched on a very important factor here which is the effect sugar consumption has on the brain and how it is being proven that it is addictive. And if it is addictive then it stands to reason that people will over consume it and thus it will lead to obesity. Not saying it’s he only factor but it seems to me to be one of the biggest. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Keep going strong bro! Cheers from India!
This is something I’ve been wondering about and skeptical of for quite some time. It’s basically “common knowledge” that consuming refined sugars causes an insulin spike, which inevitably leads to increases in body fat. This seems to indicate otherwise.
If anybody read: Gary Taubes “Case against Sugar” he could clearly see this as nonsence video… ( Jeff Nippard BUSTED)
Great information. I just started eating quinoa. I love it!!
Cheese is well known to cause nightmares. And nightmares are often a form of disturbed sleep causing people to move around more and get entangled in sheets. Therefore it is very plausible cheese causes bed sheet entanglement deaths
Its that sugar is highly addictive (even more so than cocaine in a recent study with rats) and the dopamine urge increases so the portions increase. pound for pound sugar won’t make you fat if it is within your macros (as you rightly say) but people cannot keep it within their macros
Does the fructose from fruits make us fat in a caloric surplus? Is there a quantity for the daily fructose?
Thanks for watching!

lol these videos are so stupid. this guy googles a couple articles then tries to act like he’s an expert. Regardless of if it makes you fat or not, sugar is terrible for you. I think this guy just likes sugar and is trying to make himself feel better about consuming it.
My favorite example for “correlation does not equal causation” is a “study” that shows the correlation between chocolate consumption and IQ that concluded that chocolate makes you smarter
He says we shouldn’t villainise one nutrient like sugar as the main cause of obesity then immediately goes into be wary of high fat, high salt, energy dense foods.
Sugar, or as it is known in the browner parts of town, “La Cocaina del Diablo”
If you introduce sugar there is a fast increase of insulin in the blood that few minutes later start to reduce the level of sugar in the blood and you have need to introduce other sugar, if you do it with the sweet drink you introduce calories without reducing the “hungry sensation” and increase/decrease of sugar in the blood is faster
Wow, such an amazing video, cant wait to see more, thankyou so much!
Nice vid! Coul you do a follow-up and talk about sugar intake and cancer? There is the notion that it fuels cancer but I have found contradicting information.
Do you still think it’s okay to eat quinoa? I feel like your more recent videos kind of swear off grains
Hey Jeff, maybe you should watch Robert Lustig’s Sugar: The Bitter Truth. It will make you change your opinion on this. I can disapprove everything you said by using his study as a source. By the way, the “Seven Countries Study” was actually a lot more countries that that, but Ancel only chose those 7 countries because it supported his idea. Your video you just made was strait bull shit. You should also see who is financing some of these studies you shown before showing them!!
Basically, the “Standard America diet” hates you. And would rather you have jelly beans for breakfast than to have that toast with butter.
Dear Certified Holistic Health Coach Corrina Rachel I’m writing today to inform you that I think you’re fucking hot keep it up with that research girl
sugar is still the worst source of carbs out there. also constant high blood sugar is called diabetes… just something to think about.
Is it concerning I couldnt pay attention to more than 5 minutes of this video? Low in sugar?
Nice video. I don’t rinse quinoa and never had an issue with the flavor.
I changed from eating rice to quinoa a few months ago and just recently I did it for my kids. It really does fill u up as doesn’t take much.
It is not better if there is no nutritional content in it. I mean, you are eating to live, eat what will support that. You need all the nutrition you can in todays world!!!
How about the science behind gaining weight? As in sugar literally causes insulin to spike hard. And insulin is a storage hormone that removes sugar from the blood, and puts it into fat cells in your body? This is the basic science behind gaining weight. This isn’t coloration, it is scientific fact.
Your knowledge on brown vs white rice is a sad miss. Do some more research no disrespect. Lotta myths packed in
Desperate for myths to bust or? This seems like quite the sophomoric breakdown. Nice to know all calories are equal.
thanks…the washing of the quinoa should help! good luck with that picky boyfriend of yours!
Myth is not busted. You’re cherry picking studies and not looking at long term metabolic influence of sugar and the psychological addiction to sugar. You’re an idiot for acting like the myth is proven busted
Wow this video is amazing. It teaches you a lot about sugars and stuff
What you neglect to mention is that most of those studies were sponsored by the sugar industry..
Yes, the premise is flawed: The question is not if sugar makes you fat, but that caloric over-consumption makes you fat. However, all calorie sources are not equal, and fructose & sucrose are easier to convert into glucose than, for example, starches; starches more easily than lipids, lipids more easily than proteins and so forth. So you will more quickly max out your caloric intake with sugars that with almost anything else. Hence it is more accurate to say that sugars, together with other caloric sources, particularly starchy foods can indirectly contribute to weight gain.
What about fructose coming from fruits. Are they also need to be checked for sugary content.?
I cannot concentrate on the content and most people would know why…
All-in-All….is all about portions, time of consumption, physical activity, rest time, acceptance and commitment with one body!
“Smoke more” It all makes sense, potheads that have the munchies
I don’t cause I hate high fructose corn syrup I don’t care about soda because it has it & it doesn’t dissolve in the blood like sugar does I’m the same with tbhq & etc.
Many videos on U tube say that oats are rich source in Proteins while in this video you have stated the PROTEINS ARE ONLY 2.4 grams per 100 gms. of oats.
Why are you delivering information whilst being dressed to head to the night club?
Please don’t condone this. The majority know how inappropriate this nonsense is. Infact, this just shows how inferior you actually feel inside that you have to scoop to such level to feel superior (or in other words ‘sexy’).
Ridiculous.
Very interesting. But we’re not saying “food A has a higher score on the GI” & therefore it’s necessarily “worse” per se. I mean, lots of fructose (& less glucose) might be lower on the GI but it’s still going to be working the liver hard. If I’m reading this right, a balance of both fructose & glucose is going to put the lowest overall load on the body’s chemistry.
Great video and memories! I had this colour of shirt and a white belt around this time too
No, sorry. For trained individuals perhaps, but for the vast majority of people, sugar causes addiction, insulin sensitivity and all sorts of other problems.
So do potatoes have a slower digestion rate since it is high fiber?
How do they compare in taste?
If it was proven that dog shit give you a whole day nutrients and really healthy…will you eat it?
This video cements the man as a gatekeeper. Omg you literally used the CC argument is the weakest argument. Ahh you’re a shilly
Great video content! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you tried Chireetler Fantastic Physique Rule (do a search on google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for learning how to get amazing muscle definition without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my work buddy at very last got excellent results with it.
Lol Jeff I think you’ve been abit brainwash by the sugar companies. Firstly I suggest you should look at who’s funding those studies secondly you should look up studies like the Honolulu study. Thirdly you should look into what type of diets are the best for people who are overweight and diabetes and it’s not a sugar diet.
I can’t believe my French fries (with salt) was nothing but sugar … No wonder it’s so delicious.
This has been on my mind. Great info. I always see Bodybuilders preach white rice in massive amounts but i rarely see them use brown and NEVEr see the quinoa? There are a few types of quinoa? Red, brown?? Please advise.Love the info available. Thank you!
I’ve allways seen sugar as dead calories. AN 800 calorie cake or an 800 calorie roast dinner will take the same amount of exorcise to burn. It’s just that that cake has so much less protein, vitamin and mineral content compared to the roast dinner it’s obvious which one should be eaten more regularly.
If you eat 2000 calories of cake a day and only cake. But you burn it off you won’t be fat. But you will not build muscle easily and you won’t have the vitamin and mineral requirements for healthy cell production in general.
Hi!
I like eggs but get bored of eating them every morning. I would like to alternate between eggs and a meal replacement shake in the morning. I am having a hard time choosing between a protein power and a meal replacement powder when I really am looking for something that has protein and can replace my usual breakfast choice. Lastly, I do not like whey protein and prefer plant based powders, but haven’t found one that isn’t gritty and is filling. Can you recommend an alternative to whey protein? Can you please provide some insight. I’d appreciate any information you can pass along. Thanks!
But not consuming sugar isn’t about it making you fat. It’s about non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This video is wrong just because sugar doesn’t make you fat doesn’t mean it isn’t bad for you in other ways.
Not all epidemiologic research is observational. For example, clinical trials are epidemiologic and one of the strongest forms of evidence.
Rachel I’m not horny I just wanna give you a kiss on your pretty lips
What do you think of lost a ton of weight using Custokebon Secrets? I notice many people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets.
If you’re interested in sugar and its affects on the body: https://youtu.be/LPxIssabhTc
Hey Jeff! I love work and appreciate the effort you put in it…. I also appreciate that association does not imply causality BUT… ( This is a humorous but:)…. The bed sheet tangulation death association to cheese consumption you chose to highlight the stillness of making these assumptions may not be the best for your purposes……because (here in Europe at least ) there is a well known/ association between late night cheese eating and nightmares…. (The smellier the cheese the worse the nightmares ).
So… The nightmares induced may put people at risk of ‘bed sheet strangulation’.
Thanks dude for your hard work and keep the video’s coming I’m an avid watcher:)
Dr Chris Gauci (from Malta)
or salt ya know. People tend to love adding that to everything they make as well *shakes head*
To start, I would say that I love your videos. You usually have lots of good information.
Having said that, I will say thatthis video is dangerous. The danger of sugar does not present in the mere casual consumption. The danger of sugar is in the metabolic affects, and the way that most forms of marketed sugar are not metabolized properly. There are various forms of sugar present in our foods, and the way that most people consume it (and the volume they consume) is NOT healthy.
There are a variety of factors that consume to weight-gain and obesity, and to say that sugar is not a problem in this epidemic is dangerous. To focus simply on obesity is misleading, as this is not simply considered a catch all for bad health. We have to look at specifics, such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease. It is no wonder that the US is a leader in these being our top killers, as we only have to look at our diet.
To note, the consumption of sugar at an uncontrolled level along with the consistent elevation of blood glucose is not healthy for most people. Along with diabetes, consistent elevation of blood glucose has varying organ and systemic effects, all the way down to the cellular level with long-term effects on the body. If we look to specific diets we can further see that, given the availability of sugar in various forms in the food market, sugar has become a replacement for many dietary needs when it is not supposed to be.
I would rethink this video. The information is just plain dangerous and I fear misleading…
I just tried quinoa for the first time today and it was much better then expected. I just don’t like brown rice that much but love white rice, this is a great alternative which I will definitely be eating more of…
been hooked on quinoa ever since i took charge of my diet. great video!
love quinoa: its from the family of the Amaranthus (flowers easily to found in flower shop)
the mostfamous one is the fox tail.:-) just to let you know..
7 countries was paid for by the sugar industry, who vilified Yudkin & all but destroyed him! You need to research some more!
I keep hitting send mistakenly lol! Ok, but the washing might help to get my boyfriend to eat it…he kept saying it had a butter taste which I don’t taste but apparently he did (super picky eater!). Thanks for the vid! Illl be sure to check out Brenda Lee Turner. I love Bexs vids, your vids, so probably Brenda’s vids too! Thanks!
Ahh informative! Lol! Also, I didn’t know about washing quinoa before cooking to remove the bitter taste!
Lol u lost my sub even before I subbed! Ur becoming the new vegan gains bro. Smh
This video only holds water if the amount of sugar, and sources of sugar does not alter behaviour in consumption of food. In anecdotal experience, a large increase of refined sugar beyond the recommended 30 grams/day makes it difficult to keep to my caloric limit. Essentially, there might be an association between amount of sugar consumed and the need to consume increasing amounts of sugar to get the same satisfaction. If anyone is up for it, try a diet of high added sugar(120-150 g per day) vs low added sugar. I think, in my limited anecdotal experience, that a low added sugar diet is much easier to maintain.
I think you make good points none the less. Sugar is not the only factor, but it is an important factor. Taking out added sugar will help go towards better diet and exercise habits.
I just had nutella after watching this with less than usual guilt ahaha
I absolutely love this lady information off-the-charts wonderfulhi absolutely love this sleep information off the charts wonderful
I think the body WANTS to use ketones primary for energy. But because humans eat sugar all day, the body tries to get rid of it through energy-burning, which is not that good for health. If you do keto and quit eating sugar of all kind (also starch), you get slim and healthy.
sure will. did you see my Quinoa Energy Bars recipe video? go search it on my channel…delicious
Queen Noa? Quinoa? I didn’t know it, but I certainly will try it!Protein, vitamine B2 and E, 3 minerals (and good for gluten-free diet)!
What I’ve learned Vs Jeff Nippard
Who is right, I’m confused
This is still sugar obsession to blame for increase of diabetes rates in Australia. Lots of Australian substituted their beloved soda with a “healthy” (and healthy for many people cancels portion control) alternative of fresh fruit juices and later tons of fruit smoothies full of sugar, natural but still average Australian consumes way too much sugar than needed. No mystery in growing scope of diabetes
This video is mind boggling dumbfuck stupid. I suppose his dumbfuck subscribers will listen judging by the dislike bar.
He calls a fact a myth.
I love quinoa, mmmm:) It’s crazy how many people DON’T even know what it is.
Yes, sugar is making people fat, sick and it’s deadly!!!!!
https://youtu.be/dBnniua6-oM
It makes me “laugh” when people tell me “What the hell is quinoa”… maaaan you have to know it:P it’s so great! I really like to cook it with salsa:) have a nice day Brad, you’re the best, I have to say that again:P
