Omg! It’s after 1:00 in the morning and I want to have a poke bowl! Now I can’t sleep lol! Thank you for those awesome recipes!
Ahhh…..NO!!! We do not add black pepper to Ahi poke! You must be haole.
Don’t wanna be judgemental but the salmon sashimi doesn’t look right.. LOL
Is Poke meat always raw? If you use chicken in Poke, will it be raw too? If I order a Poke dish, can I have the restaurant cook the meat?
That was so creative and innovative! Inspired us to try new things and new tastes! Thank you!
I love how simple and clean they keep these recipes. So much modern poke piles on the ingredient to the point you can barely taste the fish. Big fan!!
Hello my friends how can I get one of that cute soy sauce dispenser in Australia
I love all your videos ✅
15 min to make pokebowl
her blue nailpolish matched perfectly with the orange salmon <3
Love this vid. I had a tofu poke bowl a little while ago and I thought it was amazing. I added avacado to mine over rice. Yum
man i LOVE poke bowls!!! especially salmon! i used to eat poke every week but now i am broke:p
So poke is like ceviche? All looked good! I’d eat the tuna ones, I LOVE tuna. My dad and I cook something similar to the tofu poke all the time hah….love it for noodles!
Ok, just because you cut raw fish & season it isn’t Poke. I call it prep for the hot grease.

The Yooniverse has spoken. I was JUST thinking that making poke at home would be a good idea and your video came up! Looking forward to using your recipe, yay!:D
I just use the one cup rice one cup water method when I cook my rice and it never fails:)
Yummm!! Ahi Tuna is used for sushi also so I know this good. =D
‘”If you don’t know how to cook rice by the time you’re 7, you’re ostracised”
As an Asian, I think i’ll use this line for my future kids
This video seriously saved my date night thank you so much for the different variations of poke bowls
I saw this video months ago and couldn’t get it out of my head! I finally went to Japan town and bought all the ingredients to make several of these. I’m SO excited to make this right after my exams tomorrow
These look absolutely brilliant I’m so going to make some for lunch today.
I’ve tried another “California roll” poke that uses the spicy mayo sauce, along with imitation crab and avocados. It’s amaze! But, I absolutely LOVE tofu poké. It’s refreshing and not too heavy.
Currently addicted to the cucumber with gochujang but instead of sesame oil i add in a little mayo.
Thisis a horrible video. learn how to film and edit. The actual video wasnt helpful at all.
I really wanna try that Garlic shrimp poke, I love garlic shrimp!!!!
I can’t find say sushi graded salmon, not even from waitress
Does the tofu need to be sauteed first? It looked brown on the edges. Thanks for all the tasty ideas!
Awesome! You can make a menu out of this video for a poke shop.
Omggggggggg I got really hungry just by reading the video’s title!
you’re probably well aware of the Japanese influence in Hawai’i history… No matter what ethnic background you are, if you grew up here, you went to Japanese Okazuya (japanese delicatessens) for your school ‘field trip’ lunches… I used to go to the one next to St. Louis Drive Inn… (St. Louis High School is where Heisman award winner Marcus Mariota attended as well as former Alabama qb Tua Tagovaiola….). love your videos!
did anyone else thought she was going to say “after a long day of work… i don’t wanna see that”, anyone?
Poke bowl!
You’re my best friend
In a world we must defend
Poke bowl.
ugh that spicy ahi poke looks TO DIE FOR!!!! my mouth is watering so hard it hurts…
Please do not limit to using Hawaiann Salt only, sounds really stupid! Some other varieties are also good and healthy! ><
I’m really happy that I learned about you guys via Emmy’s channel. Love what you’re doing!
This is GREAT! I love the vegan varieties of poke. I never heard of vegan poke before this video become very popular.
at least she cooks her rice the right way.. not like the bbc lady boiled the rice then drain it in a colander after that wash the starch off.. Who does that? Not us Asians! ♀️
Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories of my home. I grew up around TANIOKAS n yes the food is the BOMB!!!
i have never seen him not like a food. everytime its “MHMMM” Looks for server/cook thumbs up “really good thank you MMHM”
So yummy…. but I’m not brave enough to eat nato though lol:)
Thanks deeply for sharinG your Dangerously delicious receipe!!! Your presentation was awesome and super easy to learn from!!! Happi Summer fellow Tuna lover!!!✌⚘
What is the difference between Hawaiian salt and sea salt? Are they interchangeable if the Hawaiian salt isn’t available?
Wow, so many different ideas! I made your original poke recipe for a family Xmas party, and it was such a big hit. Your recipes are always spot on. I want to try all the variations in this video, but I’ll probably try the one with the tobiko first. Thanks for the recipes and have a wonderful week!
Oh my gosh you guys, thank you so, so much for all the yummy veggie options!!! These look delicious:-)
Spicy salmon is my taste of choice… this is one of my favorite tabieats videos…
I just made it and had it for dinner. AWESOMELY DELICIOUS!!!!!
Hi, TabiEats, I feel that poke are an alternative to sashimi. yum
You’re so creative guys! I love all of them! Thanks for your hard work! I only knew the basic ones and now I have even an italian version to try. You’re the best! Love you guys <3
you guys are so creative!! ✨ i will have to try making that tofu poke, it looks delicious
You make a very weird face after taking a bite plus you need to give honest reviews. It’s just not possible that all that you try tastes good.
How do u just eat raw fish:(((((( I feel like I’m guna get sick from it
You must have a hollow leg, my guy! Where do you fit all that food??
I want some! Also, Lincoln in the swing = cute. Also, Season 6, please.
2 years ago yet the rail STILL isnt finished.. yep, Hawaii for you
Went to hawaii last year for vacay and our aunty introduced us to foodland and its poke bowls and we FELL IN LOVE if we ever miss dinner cause we were at the beach too long or driving around too far from home, we’d always get poke bowls before theyd close and some tea. That was our staple meal during our stay and Im glad I can make em myself now thanks to you!much love!
and here in yet another Episode of British food Ruins Hawaiian Food…
NOBODY puts mayonnaise in POKE…ever
Mark: It’s now time for desert…… MICAH
Me: oh god he’s gonna eat his son
I’m a great cook but i would still love if you came to house to cook for us <3
Such a nice fun lady <3 keep up the good work
Frickn crack up yo title Das my go to for convenience. ❤️
FINALLY! After watching so many clips on YouTube for making poke, this is my favorite. Thank you for sharing.
Interesting choice for a title. Foodland IS NOT the Hawai’i standard in which poke is measured against, more like a last resort.
Yummmm! The poke is awesome! I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers…
You’re doing an amazing job! Keep it up!
Fuck offf this is the worst poke bowl ever!!! This is fucking click bait
I hate this cliche music, and I can’t hear you speak over it.
EL cámara tenía parkinson?, en realidad sólo es un vídeo medianamente bonito, la música es basura y tu voz no se escucha bien. No vale nada.
The editing and filming of this video is the most jarring experience I have ever had. Also, if the music is free, that doesn’t mean you HAVE to use it.
Really bad audio because you did not have a microphone close to you. Instead, you tried to use the camera’s microphone. (sad)
A couple things to try:
* wear a lavalier microphone pinned to your dress then run a wire to the camera or audio recorder such as a Zoom H4n.
* rent or buy (eBay) an XLR shotgun microphone then have it located just out of frame. Run a wire from it to the camera or audio recorder.
When you edit the video, the main audio you should have is the voice track and certainly not the music track.
The moment you took lemon juice out of a bottle! the video is over for me!
This video is a keep Thank you for teaching these recipes
i can’t deal with this loud toddler music all over YT. make it stop!
what the fuck… how do you have this many subs with such a terrible camera setup
Hey there, I was wondering about camera/sound equipment are you using?
the music was wayyyy too loud and y’all need to get a tripod lmaooooo
His face after every bite is the same…..takes bite, rolls eyes, tilts head back a lttle, then widens eyes, says wow, contines smacki ng food while saying how good it is…..that every first bite with random mmmm noises in between…..always the same
Who the hell films a video like that? That filming plus the music totally ruined this video.
You opened my mind to vegan poke. Thank you! How about beet poke?
very good cam work congrats on setting women everywhere a 1000 steps back due to your unbelievable lack of awareness and competence
I thought the video was really good even the shaky parts worked. I did think the music was a little loud tho. but anyway I saw him filming on a phone, was the whole thing shot on a phone? and how can I find fish fresh enough to do this? the nicest grocery store near me is kroger and ive asked them before and they ß they wouldn’t use it for sushi or anything raw.
If Satoshi likes garlic so much bring him to Gilroy Garlic Festival!
I just had my first poke bowl at a restaurant. That is why I am here to see why they call a bowl of salad, poke ball?:/
I was not happy to pay for an actual meal and get a bowl of salad…
I have frozen Tuna at home that I need to get rid off. Could I use this recipe? Tuna instead of salmon?
7:36 i know he isnt, but it looks like the background is a green screen in this shot
I still used soy sauce when I eat Poke Bowls, maybe don’t need it after all.
What a beautiful person and family. I’m not sure how you put away all that food and be so slim. Lucky you. Arohanui ki Aotearoa New Zealand to you and your whanau
Dang my uncle’s shop is right across from the 7/11 area across the shop
I need this kinda attitude….I’m pretty much an asswhole!!
Hey fellow Asians remember when people use to make fun of us for eating raw fish.
Making money by us just wishing we were eating what he is eating lol
Thank you for the video and recipes‼
I have fallen in love with poke bowls, the thing is the places that make them can be soo expensive so you showing me how to make them at my own home is amazing ❣
OK guys vegetables are not a thing? My favorite place makes a vegan poke bowl and now I’m hooked looking for more vegetable ideas for poke bowls. Thanks for all of these, definitely gave me some ideas. I’m most unfamiliar with the sauces and I’m going right down to my local Asian store to look. Don’t forget avocado they must go on top!
Before becoming a famous her hijab was perfect now a days It’s a joke and Insult to hijab……it’s a shame
That first poke bowl with the spicy mayo tuna furikake on top of rice looks so good… I want to make that my desktop wallpaper.
Music is way too loud to hear the directions. Poor quality in editing.
One day I will be like you mark and you’ll be my! Mentor
I’m a Filipino and I love eating lots of Puke specially the big ones
The place he went to buy the food is literally freaking heaven
8:57 Don’t eat tuna every day, 2-3 meals a week. Because it may contain more mercury than other fish. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/mercury-in-tuna#frequency
that place’s food looked good for sure, but almost 70usd for that small amount seems like a rip-off… mind you, idk how much food costs in hawaii on average, so maybe it’s a good price there!

I really like the videos, so much single use plastic though
You have to always stuff your mouth to the max with every bite?
When adding your ingredients order can make a difference. For example, when making spicy ahi poke, add salt and mix the shirancha in first, let sit for a minute, then add the ikura, then mayo and green onion last. You will notice the spicy kick will be different.
0:11 this guy has the best reaction towards food lol #overhype
Mark, your videos are awesome. They really are. So much wonderful food, but so much single-use plastic. Hope the Pacific doesn’t start spewing the plastic up on those beaches.
does hawaiian salt different from sea salt and kosher salt? Poke without raw fish? all my life i watched food video about poke and they were always raw fish. i mean, it is eye opening! what is poke anyway? i am not sure anymore..
wow I so miss living in hawaii for the food like this!!! yuuummm
Adding a pinch of sugar or a tablespoon of mirin to the salmon mix will round out all the flavors. Thank me later
You make everything look so good!!! Gonna go get me one tomorrow
Wow, this looks so good! Definitely wanna try to make the spicy tuna:D
When I went to Hawaii, the island of Maui, we went to the grocery store and they had tons of poke. It was amazing. I tried several kinds. I was in love w the server and the food. I love everything about Hawaii, esp the island of Kauai. Mark! Would have loved to see u eat as a kid! Bet u have wonderful parents! I would love to eat fresh poke every day, three times a day!
I have a poke addiction. White rice, Salmon, Cilantro, Avocado, Green Onion, Cucumber, Sesame Seeds, Fried Onions, Sesame Dressing, Spicy Mayo, House Sauce. All the sauces are both on the rice and fish. I’ve spent $300 at my poke shop I’m a regular there and I eat this bowl every single time.
Thank you for this Satoshi and Shinichi!! Great ideas, love you guys!
Waipahu is a great place to be especially when your Filipino, you’ll feel right at home lol
yum i have been wanting to make poke from home thanks for the recipe:) this looks so delicious and refreshing! that is a really nice piece of tuna too!
This dish is only for white folk. All you third world trash stick to eating bugs
U should have also tried Highway Inn which is also near Taniokas. Right in front of the bus transit center in waipahu.
I’d love to try the poi mochi! Yes, I’ve had, and like poi, and I love mochi.
ur eyes alone can already describe the food brother btw love the vid:D
I would love to see a show with Nadiya,
Nigella and Jamie Oliver
I used to get aku poki with ogo when I was 21 at Tanioka’s I’m now 62 and so very glad that they are still there. I wish we had a Tanioka’s in Seattle.
Dinner is always the first thing on my mind. It’s what gets me through the tiring day
Chinese who selling Japanese food. S like you Eat dutch cheese maked in kenya
Your Mom’s favorite the tuna poke I think I might try. The veggie ones I know I would eat. That is a lot of poke to eat. I think you both had a great lunch. Thanks Brothers.
I love Nadia. Huge fan of her. Her journey is inspiring. Signed a fellow muslim sister.
As an Asian, it’s always weird to see rice not being made from a rice cooker. Also when she started added salt and vinegar to it I gagged a little.
I stay away from people who does anything about Hawai’i or who arent locals, because it bothers me to the max when they cant pronounce any of the words correctly. Especially when trying to say “Hawai’i”. It grinds my gears the wrong way
This is awesome!!!! love the color! Just cooked something similar, but going to try out some of My’s options:D
enjoyed watching your video. I use yo live in Oahu. The green in the maki slushy is green ebi..shrimp..my favorite sushi. You take big bites..really enjoyed your video. im sharing it on my facebook.
I can’t wait to go to Hawaii next month to try poke! I miss Japan too! This video was mouth watering…
He’s that one teacher who walks through the dumb student without getting mad when they don’t know wtf they doing
This show is so good! Loved her on GBBO & I’m so happy she has her own now
I love this! Currently buying all the ingredients to make it myself!
I feel like this guy has never been mad or angry in his entire life
Wow, that’s a talented chef. She makes it look so easy, and soooo tasty
There’s a place near here that let’s you choose what you want on your poke. Making me hungry for that watching this vid:)
I’m allergic to garlic ☹️ it always looks so gorgeous in recipes
First day of Ramadan and I am watching this. Why do I do this to myself?
Seeing her cut the onion with scissors made me feel more normal because I do it that way!
How the hell is that gonna measure water? Nothing about that is “fool proof”
You didn’t even say how many cups of rice there are and that line will move up and down depending on the size of the pot.
The best way to cook rice is to actually measure it or the asian finger method.
This not how a real Poke bowl from Hawaii is made. Wtf is this crap.??? You people are completely ruining poke.
I just finished eating my dinner and Nadia is making me drool..
what line on the spoon? you should be able to measure one cm by the eye. at least when you claim to know something about cooking:D. or finger if you really are the beginner. but line on the spoon:D?
1:12, hummmm, is someone gonna tell her that farmed Scottish salmon is treated with chemicals that kill off the sea lice that attack caged farmed salmon?
Waipahu baby…I used to live in that corner house behind dat 711 sign at 0:21. My cousin dem still live der
Omg I grew up on poke in Hawaii. These all sound so good! Let me know if you need someone to taste test
Great job Julie and Joe! Proud of you for getting back into the swing. Can’t wait to try this simple recipe
Good stuff; but terrible video. Maybe get a lens with a better depth of field; the shallow DOF are great for pics, but not for such a video…just my 2 cents.
I measure my rice with my fingers. Btw, I’ve never seen poke like that here at home(Waipahu, Oahu) but imma try like that but with tuna. I’ve never had salmon poke either. I wonder how it taste and with all those toppings but I don’t know what my family gonna say if I make that kind poke. Hopefully they no slap my head. lol
15 Minutes?! No way. I feel like it takes me 15 minutes just to cook up some rice. I gotta try this though, I love Poke Bowls so much & can’t get over how good they are
Hello have a good day, i had seen your ideas, and i want to know if these are your ideas?? I want to taste them.
You should learn to eat your food slowly. I use a small spoon in order to not eat tasty food too fast.
Honestly, I grew up most of my life in Hawaii, and this is such a bastardized version of what poke bowls are supposed to be like. I mean I’m sure it can taste good to folks and I cant hate on what someone wants to eat, but at the very least have the decency to not call this a poke bowl.
I was amazed by your video until you put sugar on the rice…meh.. but I am definitely going to check your channel. You have cool style.
It’s a good thing I ate something before watching this, haha. This was so freakin cool!!!! I have to say though, my fave one was the tofu mixture. I was drooling! I also enjoyed seeing all the veggie ones. So yummy! I really enjoyed this video. Who knew there was such a variety of poke bowls! Much love to you both! <3
Mark hey there…watch ur vidio’s…waiting for u to take a trip to South Carolina and Georgia for our world famous bbq and southern cuisine…keep fooding bro
Kahe Point… beautiful areas, but be careful out there they don’t call Nanakuli/Waianae the ‘Wild West’ for nothing….
While this may taste good, I don’t care what anybody says, this is not poke.
No matter how tired you are, always take time to make something beautiful,
This looks great. I usually make poke with tuna but salmon is a treat! It’s on my next shopping list! Thanks for the fun clip!
Love your channel as I’m a vegetarian don’t eat fish but hey I can leave that out or replace it.
So Poke is basically seasoned raw meat salad. Is that what it translates too?
Apparently these so called celebrity chefs have no thought to the source or health of the foods they recommend for the public to eat, I have emailed several chefs and have yet to get a reply from any of them, it seems money and fame is all their interested in, that includes Jamie Oliver the so called healthy food guru, they seem to be all the same feed any crap to the public.
Aloha, wow the food i miss it alot i lived in Honolulu for about very close to 10 years i loved local foods of every kind now I am on mainland u.s. but got plan to be moving back to Hawaii not sure of date yet but planning it. That is when I will grab local foods again can’t wait
Why wouldn’t you just use sushi grade salmon, and why is the rice so hot.
I’ve never had raw fish and nerve had poke, but this looks yummy. Grate video, loved it as always.
Yeah I don’t trust my fish sources to be eating it raw. Even going to Whole Foods & buying the wild caught salmon who knows how long it’s been from boat to grocery store? I get that folks in HI have access to the freshest fish possible & poke is a staple. Unless you live on an island or coastal city eating raw fish at home is asking for trouble.
Watching this video at 2 AM is a mistake lol! I love how colorful each one of them. They must taste delicious. I’ve never tried poke before though, do you use regular rice or sushi rice?
Nice brown sugar dish Congrats on the season! And hi Lincoln ❤️
Good god love, that’s a serving for easily 2-4 persons! Please don’t cross the ocean yet!
Nadia/BBC: could you put the recipe, or at least the ingredients, up on the description, please?!
