Hi person scrolling through the comments if you are trying to be healthy that’s good but losing weight to be healthy good! Losing weight to be you “dream goal” will always turn into your not enough.
If you do use iceberg lettuce, I suggest going shredded or finely chopped, it has a way better texture and a huge difference from leaves (I also recommend this for tacos as well).

There are so many weight loss methods, Keto, Intermittent fasting, Extended fasting, just do regular exercise like ffs. So many options yet many are so vastly different and tell you to do the exact opposite of what the others say, Eat bacon and REAL FATS, don’t eat berries or bananas, NVM EAT BANANAS DON’T EAT BACON or butter or literally anything, How about I just drink a bottle of Wine and stick the cork up my A$$, Only eat every second day and start with lunch only no breakfast for the first little bit, then don’t eat on the first day period. Btw, I have a thought for a video or series even…I’m currently working with a personal chef and plan to wean off depending on her in the next 2-3 months. One thing I really need help with is meal planning, specifically shopping for ingredients that can yield 2-4 different batch dishes for the week. My hubs and I have always just bought staples and “special items” and then winged meals. Sometimes we shop with only 1-2 specific meals in mind and then struggle to figure out what to do with the rest of any left over ingredients. I’d like us to be more intentional and more cost and time efficient with our shopping. I think videos where you show meals that piggyback off leftovers or shared ingredients would be super helpful.

I loke chickpeas, chicken breast, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and a very small serving of couscous.
Anybody else thinks getting fat from oil is not worth it? Like I’d rather have more chicken to fill me up than a tbsp of oil from a dressing.
I make my dressings water based and thicken them up with a dilluted teaspoon of cornstarch. Because it’s water based meaning I can make it from juices like tomatoes, starfruit, pineapple, lime etc. I can have as much “sauce” since it’s not made from oil or mayonnaise.

I like to put only a handful of iceberg lettuce in my salads and then add spinach and arugula. If i go to a restaurant and get a side salad i would be very disappointed if its mainly iceberg lettuce bc it shows a lack of care

Okay the calories for the quinoa salad are not accurate. I just scanned every product I used with an app to count calories and the total calories are 639 with only 1 tablespoon of that salad dressing. Don’t get me wrong the recipes are amazing and very tasty but be careful with the calories you are consuming.

Joe’s macro numbers for his protein sources seem different than what I can find in the store. His chicken was 170g for 52g protein/3g fat (17.3 protein:fat ratio) and his turkey was 200g for 64g protein/2g fat (32:1 protein:fat ratio). I can’t find anything close to this, it’s usually closer to something like 2g fat per 18g of protein (9:1 ratio). I ask because this can be the hardest part of the day – getting protein in without your calories blowing up due to fats! @JoeDelaney any suggestions on where I could be going wrong?

How do you work out on 1800 kcal? I tried that and in 3 days I felt so weak and I was loosing muscle (reps were decreasing drastically, under 20% and eating more did not improve the situation, I had to up the kcal and work my way up again) and I’m skinny, about your height.

Question how much advice should we take from someone who doesn’t remove their jewelry when mixing things by hand?
I used to eat like that when I was younger, seemed to work, until I developed arthritis which was in the end so painful I had difficulty walking at age 48. In the end I dropped all the vegetables and fruit and moved to a meat and eggs diet. After a few months all the pain had gone and I have nearly all my mobility back. If I start to eat vegetables and fruit again the pain starts to inch its was back in just a few days, plus I become constantly hungry. You can essentially eat anything when you are younger, but don’t fall into the trap that that is the reason for your fitness or trim shape, its just because you are young.
Jeez, my family’s homemade salad looks just as good if not better than this one, and it’s not nearly as fancy. All you really need to make a good salad, is healthy stuff like lettuce, carrot, cucumber, avocado, and a solid dressing recipe.
Highlights a very important problem why eating healthy fresh produce is infinitely more expensive than eating utterly crap food. Knowing how much I spend on veggies per week (and it’s a lot) there’s no way I could afford to eat what he just did on a daily basis and that’s not even including meat. ‘Bulking up’ on carbs is simply a matter of economics for most people, unfortunately.

For me I use small cutted veggies. I use. Carrots, lettuce, eggplant, and other basic ingredients

Just a tip. Tear your salad leaves, instead of cutting, as this will stop the edges going brown.

If you think your salad is not tasty or boring try putting some mayonnaise or ketchup believe this works for me everytime.
I am Persian also so I know the real way to make salad shirazi: don’t put celery in it an instead of fresh herbs only put in dried mint it tastes amazing!

CHEATER! Only ONE item had LEAFY GREENS to make a salad! WEAK! I can make a delicious Burito “SaLAD” with avocado and an even BETTER Hamburger “salad” with DELICIOUS dill and sesame seeds(hemp seeds if you prefer) My entire family LOVES it, especially during a BBQ. you CAN NOT eat chia seeds raw. it can make you go to the hospital. they absorve a lot of water so if you eat and drink it can lead to serious damage in your stomach/esophagus..
That’s a nice version of Shirazi salad but it is not the original version.
