Begin in standing, holding the load at chest height with the elbows in line with your shoulders. Step the right foot to the side to perform a lateral lunge. While performing right lateral lunge.Begin in a split stance with left foot forward, knees slightly bent, hands behind head.
Engage abs and hinge forward from hips, keeping spine naturally straight, until chest is almost parallel to floor. As body returns upright (maintaining flat back), rotate torso to the left, looking back over left shoulder.Standing ab work increases the challenge of traditional abdominal exercises by adding gravity and balance into the mix.
The core will have to work harder to maintain a neutral position. The spine’s happy place is neutral—where the core is gently activated, and the body as a whole stays comfortably aligned.Standing Pike Crunch – Stand upright with feet together.
Lift both arms in the air & bring them down to waist-level where they meet with one foot, lifted up as high as you can – without using momentum to swing it upwards and without pain.Reverse the movement to return to start. That’s 1 rep, do 10, then switch sides. 3. Standing Oblique Bends — do 10 reps on each side.

Hard to get an abs when I cannot avoid eating rice 3 times daily.I have been doing these exercises of yours Maddy and I see results my only problem is rice is on my system already.My head hurts if I skip rice every meal.

I’ve been struggling with ab workouts since coming down with ulcers (but doing alot lately to get rid of them on my own; drinking aloe, kombucha, fermented foods etc). Most ab workouts make it feel like they’re gonna bust open! These feel very effective but gentle. Thank you so much!
Thank you for these videos, I’ve been doing this one, the beginner weight training, and some Vigue yoga daily for about 5 months and along with a good intermittent fasting lifestyle change have lost over 20 pounds.
I have been learning new exercises from my trainer and three of those you just showed. Of course I am using a weighted ball for one and a weighted cable for some others but it’s the same concept. Thanks!

Thank you for the video! I am recouperating from a long illness and needed something to work my abs. As a first timer today I did some of all the different exercises. The hardest thing was to convince the dog I wasn’t playing with her! I plan on doing these for several months perhaps twice a day then moving onto something a little more challenging. I plan on incorporating a change in diet as well to lose the weight put on in the last few years. Thanks again!

Love this Abs workout. I end up quiting many Abs exercises because my lower back hurts too much to keep it up. But I was able to complete this work out “easily”. Haha. I wasn’t expecting too much for a 13 min workout but I felt the pain the next morning! It truly surprised and delighted me! Love all your workouts! Very happy I found this channel!

Jeff can you do a video on breathing technique while working out. I have a feeling you have some good tips on better breathing to keep the oxygen flowing. I sometimes tend to hold my breath towards the end of a set as it becomes more difficult.

Thank you for this and many other awesome videos. This standing ab has become daily “must” now. A quick question about bent-over oblique rotation. Towards the end of this, I usually feel a slight pinch on the lower back. When I adjust the angle of my torso by lifting my body slightly, it goes away. Is the lower back pain supposed to happen, (should I keep pushing with the 45-degree angle)?

I have been doing the exercises for two weeks and feel a difference around my back and top half you can also see the difference in your clothes. I will keep joining in with the exercises and cant wait to see what the difference will be in a month. Coach and Claudia very nice. I like that the timer is on because you push yourself to finish each exercise.

Awsome jeff. To the person who had his band break. 1 your band could have been failing in the first place, be sure to inspect your bands regularly if using them. To element that problem all together use a cable pulley system. Another good standing ab workout are (steam engine) too easy? Take it to fail, or put your foot through your band, just take a better stance just for the fact of the band is going to be rubbing. Another good one is death marches with a band

What if you have no bar like that to tie it 2? I have a pull up bar the kind that you attach onto the top of your door then take off when finished… but I dont know if it will work?

Very useful video for adding to your home workout. Not a bad substitute when you don’t have time to go to the gym. Would be nice if you mentioned the different weights of the exercise bands you use. Would like to compare with the weight I use on the cable machine at the gym.

My back/shoulder feels “off” and hurt too much to do your floor workouts so I pivoted and did this awesome standing workout (thanks)! My knee also hurts, so I jumped on the bike for a solid cardio workout. It’s all about being flexible and knowing your body so you can safely work out even when you are hurting.
this is especially good if you don’t got the time or a clean floor at an office.

I do standing abs daily. This workout I do 2x per week. I do another standing abs 5 days a week.
This is a hard standing abs!!

I hate to say this, but I didn’t find these exercises that challenging or feel them “torching my abs”. I have the 6PP and I find those movements put way more stress on my abs than these exercises. Sorry to say it, but I just wasn’t feeling it.

I have a question for you. According to Physical Therapists forward bending with rotation exercises are one of the worst things for Anyone’s back. What do you think? I will not do any crossbody forward bend flexion crunches or windmills for that reason. Is that wrong? Thank you ❤️

This is exactly what I needed! My BFF just had a brain tumor removed from the center of her brain. She needs to strengthen her core, and also do exercises that cross the center of her midline to help rewire her brain. This routine does both and was a great workout for me!

Hey Jeff! I get bicep cramps for the rest of the day after targeting them in my workouts. It causes my biceps to remain contracted if I bend my arm, and may last for a second or two before I can return my arm to its normal position. If you could do a video on what the cause of this might be and how to correct that would be great.

This a short but a well balanced abbs routine!
An oldie, but goody! Love the fast pace and thoroughness of ab exercises you can do in such a short amount of time. I started adding this in after I do my regular 20 to 30 min HIIT/kettlebell routines to get an extra boost and definition for my trouble area.

I started this exercise 5days ago, though my legs still hurt so much after the exercise but my tummy is now flat and my waist was 30.5 now 28.8. I can’t wait to see the result after 2weeks.

I’m going to ad this to my daily walks I’m going to see a nutritionist I’m walking so long that myfitnesspal says I need more calories. I have difficulties with that a nutritionist that knows all my needs will help me make a plan this is my year. And I liked that it worked my arms too. bad shoulder joints just got a little sore.

Works the abs, but for someone like me who doesn’t exercise much, it’s great cardio.
I am now getting to the point that these workouts aren’t as tiring as when I first started! On the weekends I do 5 minute beginner abs, 5 minute standing abs, 7 minute flat abs and a 15 minute dumbbell beginner workout, 2x per day or 3 times if I don’t have homework. It is a lot but it is keeping my stress down!
You are doing great core exercises. It seems like you could add a 3 or 5lb weight with some of them.

It is a very good example of working out ABS without weight, only using elastic bands that give a continuous tension.

This is great exercise for me I travel a lot for work and I bring a Band with me. Use it for other body parts now for the stomach. Jeff do you have more band works outs like to see more.

Someone please explain why he did that at:52. Was it cause he wasnt controlling the weight? Ive seen an nfl rb do russian twists all explosively but he trained one half at a time i.e one oblique at a time instead of twisting all the way across to both sides

Great ab workout! Had a surgical procedure done and can’t do heavy lifting or floor exercises right now and this did the job of working my abs with no added pressure on the surgical site! Thanks Coach Kozak and Claudia!:)

There is this debate with abs. Some sources say that if you want you abs to poop out and grow you have to do weighted exercise like you would do for chest or whatever. Other sources say you have to do many reps, what is you personal opinion besides a proper Nutricion to grow and get a six pack?
Did this last night with a buddy as half of our workout. Took some time experimenting with the right bands and viewing the different exercises but the prep was worth it. Both of us found it challenging, fun, and we liked doing something very different. Felt it in the pool this morning.

I also love the new format, but if I may suggest, could you possibly keep the countdown between switching exercises instead of the flashing clock (as cute as that is!)? I felt this one very easy, I mean I could do the twists with the knee on a squat position, my legs were burning indeed, but I wasn’t struggling as much as I used to when I began working out with the Fitness Blender videos:D

Hey @Jeff Cavaliere, I have a workout request. I am a pretty big kid and i’m skinny with a decent amount of muscle. However, because i did a shitty job training equally, I look really misdeveloped in my chest area. What i mean is like.. My middle and inner chest is built well and my inner a little too well (i can do just about as many diamond pushups as i can regular) But my outer chest is like a cliff and its almost like it comes to a point at my nipple on the sides. It looks really weird but I am in good shape, I can bench my own bodyweight (160). I guess I just need a really good WORKOUT that is mainly for your OUTER CHEST. Please read and help!

love you and your videos, very hepful specially for athletes, I m a tennis player
in my opinion holding the weight at arms length while twisting from side to side has very little effect if you are doing a controlled twist. It is basically adding an isometric contraction to the front deltoids more than anything else. The weight can only be very light as you would never hold the isometric contraction in the delts long enough to work the abs. and the only way it could be relevant is if you were twisting with power in which case your core would have to contract strongly to accelerate and decelerate the force which would be an extremely niche or advanced movement with quite a high risk factor. Please feel free to educate me if I am wrong. I have my opinion based on my own experience and qualifications so will eat humble pie if I am shown the error in my thoughts:)
Great warm-up….I added 5lbs to the second set to get the heart rate up for some of the moves. Love the windmills to get the hamstrings warmed up.

I did this today . It was more intense than any aerobic class. As usual I always look at myself at the gym mirror while executing the wkout to make sure my form is correct. The Oblique Jack…am just too shy to look at myself so I faced the wall but it was the most fun workout . Tq Cori for the all great workout videos ❤️

Really great! For me it makes more sense to train the majority of the time in standing positions. Especially for athletes who do their sport standing, but also for the everyone else. I think its more realistic and better to transfer into real life.

any type of upper arms alone exercise i cant do to much back exercise too much as i had injury before
i know you say the least effective way to tone abs is with crunches, but i feel the burn the next day after crunches way more than standing abs.
I feel like i did the standing squat static thingy wrong, i felt my butt and legs burning but not my midsection:( how would you describe proper form for this exercise?
