So is organic oatmeal good or bad or indifferent? I’m so confused!
These people are right about the harm of vaccines but completely wrong about diet. We EVOLVED off eating meat you fools.
They should Invite DR PETER OSBORNE ( no grain no pain ) I thought this people were honest and they full of shit
Wow that great news I love you spellt cereals I’m going to remember how important it can be for you
Teff and Quinoa are seeds!!! Why are they calling them grains??? And nothing wrong with gluten unless you are intolerant. Gluten has protein
I got off prescription drugs by not eating wheat and grains and lost a lot of weight without killing myself on a treadmill.
Well said… don’t want to start eating like an elderly else i won’t have much energy reserved for sports as a plant-based healthy vegan.
However i prefer to stick with rye, spelt, kamut, fonic, teff, quinoa, amaranth, wild rice.
Regularrice, brown or white is a no-no, wheat (some vegan brown bread not too much) & Weetabix, oats what wheat should be limited? No one knows?!
PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON NATTO and how fermenting legumes increases the enzyme and vitamin content massively; similar to sprouting. Especially vitamin K2. It costs a fortune to buy but I make my own for only pennies and is as easy to make as yogurt. Also I can enjoy a bowl of natto without any oil but need to add a ton of coconut oil to a bowl of beans to make it palatable. Natto makes it’s own gravy!
It’s GBOMBS: Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, Seeds
Dr. Fuhrman gave the thumbs up. We have his blessing to eat more grains with exercise.
I love Dr. Fuhrman. I’ve never had the privilege of meeting him but I’m eating to live right now. ☺
Everything is great about these presentations but you need an original musician to create original score. This sounds too much like infomercials from the 80s
All grains have gluten, just not the same kind or structure of gluten. Wheat, barley and rye are the ones celiac suffers must eliminate.
Can you make a video on sprouting grains on how to do each one?
Thank you for sharing this wonderful information on spelt
Barley is low on the glycemic index; yet it caused my husband’s blood sugar to rise higher than moderate and high GI foods. He has to avoid it.
I knew a lot about spelta, but these video was really informative. Thank you!
I need help ASAP I just need to know what foods to eat I just have bad dirreah
All well so far, but what about PHYTATES! If containing phytic acid, many of the nutrients will NEVER be absorbed by the body. But I only do sour dough bread as that kills of most of the phytates.
Thanks for leaving a comment. I love the taste of Spelt and it’s wonderful to work with. Sadly, for those with gluten intolerance or allergies, Spelt is a no-go as it is a gluten grain. But thankfully, there are loads of great tasting gluten free grains out there that we can use.
Thank you, I needed to understand what it is as my friend recommended that I try it, but I approach it with care. Your explanation helps so much. Thank you!
Man was created and did not evolved. Thanks for the info. though.
Thank you all for the interest in the spelt! Thank you very much for the video! I’m from Ukraine. Our company grows and produces spelled products. Flakes, groats, flour and pasta. I’m for healthy eating, I’m for preserving the ecology of the planet. Unfortunately, Ukrainians know very little about the spelt. Another reason is the low purchasing power of the population. Therefore, we are looking for export! Because our prices are very low for the EU or the US. I wish you all good health and mood!
And need help to know what to eat, I do good when I don’t eat so
I am a farmer oats are never grown with wheat anywhere in the world and cannot cross pollinate with wheat. I don’t know who started this LIE! The only way wheat gluten in tiny amounts can be getting into oat products is from using the same processing equipment on both grains which is a common practice. The same harvesting equipment is used on all grains and much of the milling equipment is used on many grains. Please copy this post and forward the truth.
You actually get the same, if not larger, gluten substance with all purpose flour after washing.
useless.. where is the pictures of it or the demonstration of the cultivation or the plant of it|?
Can spelt be used on keto diet?
I wish this had an audio voice!
Is there any brand or the store bought bread that you can actually recommend..?
Hello, thank you for sharing your informative videos. You mentioned you might be willing to share your book? I would be very interested in reading more about what you have learned. How do I sign up? Thank you again,
-Matt
Spelt cooks faster if its soaked, but you don’t have to soak it overnight. A couple of hours should do. If you want to go ahead and cook your spelt without soaking, than it will need a longer cooking time.
Hi Sam. Thank you for your comments. Spelt is more water soluble than wheat, meaning it is much easier to digest; the nutrients are more easily absorbed. Spelt contains around 20% more protein than wheat and and has more fiber. I would choose the whole grain spelt bread over whole grain wheat bread as spelt bread contains more proteins, fiber, complex carbs, trace minerals like iron and potassium and B vitamins. Plus, I much prefer the taste of spelt over wheat! Hope this helps. Raadhika.
What about corn or rice flour? It is gluten free, but is it easy to digest?
I just discovered Spelt at 60 years old. Why weren’t we told abou this when we were younger? The bread being sold in the stores today is ANTI-mutricious. After eating Spelt pasta and breads you feel so much emotionally better. It’s real food. Watch out for Genetically Modified Food. Your body cannot digest it. Spelt is what we USE to eat. It’s the real grain. The food in the Super Markets will kill you over time.
I tend to keep my videos simple, but to be a little more specific, spelt is essentially still wheat and has gluten even if the gliadin from spelt is different from wheat, it is only marginally so. Many celiacs cannot tolerate spelt for this reason. The amino acid sequences of wheat gliadin and the amino acid sequences of spelt gliadin are 98.5% similar. Spelt could be tolerated by some gluten intolerance sufferers and those with wheat allergies but it’s best avoided by celiac sufferers.
Before 1960s nearly all wheat is Spelt. In the 1960s Rockefeller Foundation funded the Genetic Modification of wheat. The wheat we are eating today after 1960s, is what we call “Semi Dwarf Wheat”. It is the GMO version of wheat.
This is why we use the word Spelt, to separate Spelt from the GMO wheat variety (Semi Dwarf Wheat). Incidentally Leaky gut, IBS and Celiac disease running rampant from 1960s onward. People didn’t even know the Wheat they are eating today is NOT the same as their Grandparents used to eat. This leads to Anti-Gluten movement, which in itself is incorrect. They do not understand the history of wheat, and why Spelt is different than the common wheat.
It’s not water-soluble, but would it act any differently in stomach acid? Also would sprouting get rid of much of the gluten?
ummmm…. quite sure stomach acid is MUCH stronger at dissolving a bit of gluten then water….
Hey man I just wanted to know if Lentil Pastas are ok to eat with people that have certain gut issues; for example, is there a certain way of cooking the lentil pastas to remove antinutrients or should we just stay away
Hey man I just wanted to know is sprouted spelt and wheat better than the regular?
I’m completely baffled by this.. you can see here in this video that no gluten breaks down in water ( https://youtu.be/zDEcvSc2UKA?t=102) and besides we have hydrochloric acid in our stomachs. I’d like you to see you do that with hydrochloric acid and then you’d convince me..
I rinsed a tomato in water and it also didn’t dissolve! I even rinsed an entire salad and after rinsing I was left with a lovely bowl of crunchy gluten which was lovely with a bit of dressing and my rinsed pork chop. (Although a bit soggy it all came out as ‘sheat’)!
There is absolutely no science in this video! Please people do some serious research before listening to hacks like this! #fakenews
I only eat meat, but following this principle, a ribeye isnt digestible neither because you cant disolve it in water…
What are your thoughts on rye? i dont have gut irritation when i eat sprouted rye bread. but i stay away from spelt.
Hi Matt
Please send me your email address to [email protected]. I will revert with a link to download my book.
Thank you!
Manoj
So Mike what bread do you recommend we should eat…? Can you provide any brand that is ok to eat..?what about Berlin Natural Bakery..sourdough spelt bread it has only 3 ingredients..available in frozen section of the stores..
I only have direah that’s all on the go but only like two bowels a day so I just need to figure that nothing else
I washed an apple in water and was surprised to discover that it didn’t dissolve. Another lie from the government! I’ll be performing the water test on everything I eat from now on.
I’m fine if I don’t eat but it’s hard to find what I can eat so I threw out all my junk and fatty foods
does spelt have and expiration and if so what is it roughly?
I’m currently addicted to spelt! I was eating jumbo oats for breakfast but came across spelt in the store. its loovely and nutty and keeps me full for about 4 or 5 hours. I have it with dates, walnuts, cinnemon with splash almond around. I make enough for 5 days in my instant pot and heat in morning. Yummy
When I rinse out my bowl from overnight organic all purpose flour dough, it seems to dissolve nicely
What about using pineapple juice and an ancient grain to make a sourdough. Would this be enough to break down the gluten as an alternative to sprouting?
I too think that it was the reason for the fall of Roman empire.
Love your videos, and I am on my way to eating bread after 5+ years of gut issues due to your protocol. Thank you so much! You are awesome, keep it up!
Wow! Thumbs up if you noticed Mike’s hair Actually looks good today!
Why even low gluten like 50gr of einkorn increase my blood alcohol to drunk ( 0.08) after a meal:(
Is normal wheat better or worse. Where i live we only have wheat flour. Also can i use like strong whjte flour or bread flour. I can not make my sourdough starter with all porpose white flour i have tried like 4 5 times but with strong flour it is very easy. Thanks
As fat as I know spelt is not an ancestor to modern wheat but totally different species.
Yo what u k ow about nero machiaveli?is he still alive?how is he doing?i rly miss his carnivore updates tho
Do einkorn is good but what about rye? I have a lot of that in my house
I knew it. I was the person they suggested it’s a health food scam. I bought some thinking it’s a good ancient grain to use and I felt sick from it
I’ve read the places that do well eating a lot of bread use Durum Wheat instead of Common (bread) Wheat. I’m wondering what the differences are between the two.
Great video Mike. That SHEAT is in so many cereals and bread-products. It would be smart for commercial food producers to conduct these tests before calling this stuff food…
