Another thing is you don’t need to go to the gym to exercise. Take the stairs, walk, do a few squats when grabbing coffee etc… it’s endless.

Eating too many carbs and becoming insulin resistant equals health problems too.
So many damn ingredients. Keep it simple( oatmeal, cinnamon, green apple ) for carbs, whole eggs and olive oils for protein and fats. Drink a glass of water before your coffee. And exercise 3-6 times a week depending on your fitness level. Strength training or muscle training is more important than cardio. Muscle training burns calories during your workout and has that after burn effect because of soreness and recovery. Most people want that quick fix or the easy way out. Work on your nutrition before your commitments to exercising. It’s easy to under eat calories with whole foods so be careful, you might hurt your metabolism. I build muscles then go on cuts. But every 8 to 10 days on my cuts I do a refeeding day or days usually 2. To reset my mind mentally and to boost my metabolism. There is no secret pill, the key I believe is consistency in your exercising and nutrition and more importantly, patients. I still eat so called bad foods, hamburgers, fastfood, icecream, etc. But in moderation, about 2-3 times a month. Another key point is boosting your metabolism for the holidays. Not some stupid gut bacteria, easy way out, sort term solution. And sweeteners are okay, they use studies for mice eating 5lbs of sweetener for 30 days, a 150lbs person would have to eat 300lbs of sweeteners for 30 days for it to have any devastating,life altering effects. Did l also mention I went from 290lbs to 185lbs from Dec.26,2017. I did this using sweeteners to replace sugars, strength training and using complex carbs,healthy fats and lean proteins, (whole foods) to boost my metabolism, I never even heard of gut bacteria in all my research of nutrition. DR. OZ is a commerical Doctor, he’s into health business not health science. So please be careful and eat enough food so you don’t hurt your metabolism.

what about if you are way past insulin resistance and now have become diabetic 2? I have been on a low carb diet for 2 1/2 years now, not on any meds but I cant get my fasting numbers down. On the average my fasting numbers are around 120. Also if i dont sleep well or I am anxious or nervous about something, my glucose numbers go high. I believe once you are a diabetic, there are other factors that play into insulin spikes and insulin resistance. your thought?? thanks, Gina

Body wants carbs brain wants carbs no problem fuck all diets low carb oh carbs are so dangerous just piss off with that hype, body stores carbs in muscle cells and uses up to 20-30% of carbs to turn it into fat= it does not turn pure carbs into fat unless you overeat and still if no oil or protein is added it will not turn carb into fat way too many studies support this.
Bottom line-
I have made a decision… i can not control what happens around me not even my nearest my son is 150kilo i cant do anything just to give an example, only thing i can control and by God i will is myself, even if i die, i die doing what i decided to do. Workout eat pure fuck who says what. Dr. Becky, Your videos are awesome! Its amazing how you make complicated material seem so understandable so that everyone can follow along. Well done! I am a huge fan. I’ve recently discovered low carb( slow digesting) diet along with IF just to get rid of a little bit of stubborn belly fat around the love handles otherwise I have always been in really good shape. My problem was that I was too high on carbs like pasta and rice and “healthy breads” and not enough quality fats in the diet because that’s what I had always been taught to do. So after about a 6 -8 weeks of trying this, and of course watching your videos, I have lost a few pounds but my midsection is really leaning out and I have been able to preserve my muscle mass that I have worked so hard for my entire life. Wish I had known this years ago!

Great video but I wish all the healthy living folks would not say “low carb”. It is low GI carbs or “whole food carbs” or even coin a different phrase. I know Dr Becky specifies “high quality low carb” but the term low carb has many people becoming utterly obsessed and removing all carbs. This is not a healthy way to live either.
I think what we have in the USA is a triple threat effect to our waste line. We have to much food,the wrong kind of food and it’s cheap.

Basically what I got from this is: Fake it till you make it. Maybe losing weight won’t be that difficult if you can “fake” being a thinner/buffer version of yourself. I.e. don’t eat an entire pizza while thinking damn I’m a fat ass. Instead say I’m a healthy person and I don’t eat that kind of food.

Good points, but there is something I still don’t understand: how people manage to get seriously obese. Having a couple more pounds than you are supposed to is the result of too much food/fake food/beer and not enough exercise, but how do people get massive guts? In my opinion, putting on so much weight requires almost as much effort as putting it off. My weight and shape have been consistent (I look trim from afar but have some belly fat) for years. I don’t eat that much (and I do eat healthily most times). I drink too much. I don’t exercise enough. I neither put in the effort to gain weight nor lose it. I have been wearing the same clothes for years because they still fit me. My point is that even if you are not interested in exercising more or changing your diet, you still don’t get bigger and bigger every year, so I still don’t understand how people get obese.
Clearly, they have never heard of me. Just take my metabolism and save money. Lol

I lost 5 stone and then gained 4 stone back because I started to quit smoking also we are moving houses and I’m the one that cooks no one will but me. Yes as you can see I started Blaming my family alot and smoking etc but it’s me who I need to start blaming for having them negative thoughts but I do get fatty ideas in my head that “I’m so fat” and so on because I’m not my ideal weight and That mades me eat more because I started to loss my confidence in myself but you know what when I feel that low/way, I will come and watch this film again to take me back to reality. many thanks you have helped a great deal. What research has been done regarding toxic heavy metal fat that the body does not want to give up and release through the waste removal system?
I had 2 amalgams (one was a root canal) taken out 6 and 12 months ago.
When I was put on Duromine in May I very slowly lost 6kg (I need to lose about 20kg) over 3 months which was very slow going, but towards the end I had chunks of hair falling out for the next 2 months.
Normally I would lose more than twice that amount in 3 months.
Only a carb binge for 10 days made it stopso I converted all that to sugar then fat in my liver with NAFLD for the last 3 years… the 6kg and then some, came back.
I don’t want to go back on it, but that’s beside the point right now.
My questions are:
Did Duromine try to uproot the toxic fat bound to mercury and my body redistributed it?
Is that why my hair fell out?
Am I doomed to not be able to lose this fat because it’s too dangerous to do so due to reabsorption?

Yes. You don’t have a choice when you are eating sugar. Cut sugar and your brain will correct itself. If you EAT sugar thinking you are gonna inhibit your hormones, that’s not gonna happen.

i have a question. i am trying to workout and stay consistent with it but for some reason i am not feeling sore or any pain at all after my workout. i have good form but i have no clue how to tighten my abms or glutes while performing the workout. is there an easy way to explain how to do this. i dont want to give up on my workout but i feel like its a waste of time because i am not performing them correct even with good form. please help. thank you!!

what a inspiration video this is. i lost 50 pounds over a course of a year. i did totally at home. i am a really dancer so i did that as cardio. Then i did push up resistance bands supplement porbitics (hope i spell that right lol) eating lean chicken vegatables fish beans (not baked of course) i did this by listening to positive people family.

Very simple reason which is what Max also said in this video: our bodies are not designed to manage processed “food”. And thus, it doesn’t stop us from overeating junk food with stretch muscles in the stomach and leptin. Our bodies don’t detect that we ate a fuck ton of processed carbs and crap. But with real, natural, one ingredient, wholesome foods you get full very quickly and your body is SUPER good at detecting real foods and thus, you don’t get fat, because you eat just enough to keep you going. And your body is designed to keep you lean, but with eating junk food your body simply can’t do it.
A lot of people eat too much and don’t exercise enough but stay slim. It’s the same reason some people can kill it in the gym and see no muscle gains while others barely lift and get jacked. Genetics
i wouldn t say there is a shortage of food in third world countries and i ve been to a couple. there is less junk food available unlike in the developed countries

I know this one very fat guy, I can see that he is fat because he just eat as much as he please… like disgustingly… then complain that he is fat and still trying to exercise(which is all talk).
then there’s another really fat guy who control what he eats and lightly excercise as much as he can and now he’s not fat anymore… it’s all about will power I guess.

Either genetics with thyroid problems and poor metabolism or those making poor lifestyle choices. That being said, even if you don’t have good genetics, you can still trim down, even though it’s more difficult.
Being a mom is no excuse to let yourself go is an infuriating comment. I wonder if he has a family. If you have a family you know it’s not an excuse. Working full time having several kids cooking, cleaning, kids in activities, packing lunches. There is no time and the “down time” you’re too tired to do anything else. Once kids get older it’s doable when little there is no time it’s not an excuse it a reality.

my problem is that I’m a hardcore picky eater. I just simply can’t eat vegetables, they make me nauseous (literally) so I can’t realy diet. I train a lot and have increased my muscle mass but i will never get rid of my belly fat. its realy frustrating.
Are you fat? Stop eating so much. Do that for a few months or even a month and you will not be as fat. Also drink more water cook food from scratch and dont eat so much sugar and carbs

We do not inherit fat……We inherit different variation of a fondness for food or certain food. Even before a child becomes fat as an adult, you can tell which ones will get fat and

Hi I had VSG September 2014 the food cravings are out of control. The binge eating has resurfaced. I have lost 173 pounds which is 80 kilos which infact is the size of a healthy human adult person.
I have come back to tell everyone that for me VSG is a tool and I have to work very hard to keep the weight maintained. If I have a Binge I could loose focus for 3 days to a week putting on 2-3 kilos in that time then getting on the 2 shakes 1 meal routine to bring the weight back down to 73kg. When I put on weight it is because I allow myself to eat cheescake, pies, fries, chocolates. One would think after loosing 173 pounds that should no longer be an issue/ I honestly can say first year no issue moving onto the second year post VSG cravings come back thick and fast. It has been proven in studies. Our bodies start to rebel. So I face a even bigger challenge……KEEPING THE WEIGHT OFF.
My stomach can fit in a hell of a lot of food especially the junk food. The cravings are relentless at this time.
ITS NOT A MIRACLE. I FELT A REAL NEED TO SEE A SHRINK TO HELP ME DEAL WITH THIS. It all happened so quick the welght feel off and my mind is yet to catch up. The fact I suffered all my life and I did it, I succeeded, Hell I even went to Thailand Bangkok got an arm lift, neck lift and eye lid lift due to the saggy skin and I am currently recovering from that. I put on weight by eating junk food as in my mind I craved them yet I know I am sabotaging myself. You would think after paying for surgery of skin removal one would not want to put on weight you would be happy.
I plan next July to go back and get the full body lift but if I do not shift this thinking and always feeling like I am starving and craving food that in the first year of VSG never craved.

The issue I struggle with(besides hashimito) is activity seriously aggrivates the post concussion and seizures I got almost 3 years ago..drunk driver..commercial truck to my head at 40+ mph. I do 15 min low impact hiit videos for seniors. Honestly my body needs more than that but my brain rebels. Any ideas on that one??

Keeping your body in motion is vital. My wife had open heart surgery last year. Now, she walks 90 minutes a day. Also, stay away from processed foods and food with lots of sugar. USA food stores have lots of tempting displays with colorful boxes and pretty photos to lure you into eating processed, sugary junk. Also, count your calories. Duh. And try to balance your food among proteins, carbs, fruits, and veggies. You have to think about all this stuff. Easy to sit in front of TV and eat junk for much longer than it would take to get a good healthy workout or cook some healthy food. End of lecture! Sorry I seems so preachy, but doggone it, this guy always makes excellent videos that tell the truth! He fires me up!

I am a 17 year old who wants to loose weight and have a low calorie diet but u say doing weights helps loose calories faster than jogging but if I start doing weights won’t that mean I’m gonna have to start eating large amounts of carbs and protein which I know will ruin my aim in the diet. I have a thin body with 39kg and 150cm height. So i don’t really have any problem on worrying what should I eat (well I still have to worry but not in that kind of weight problem). But I kinda notice that my weight has been decreasing lately. When I was 15, I remember that my weight was 41kg and when I was 16, it started to decrease by 1kg and I’m now 17 with 39kg. And I dont understand why is this happening because I’m sure I eat a lot like I take a lot of meals in one time. I sometimes skip early breakfast. Most of the times, I eat heavy food late night such as instant noodles. And I never try dieting in my whole life. So, my point is, is it normal to experience weight loss with my eating habit? I don’t feel like I’m unhealthy but I just feel like I’m getting thinner every year. So yeah, just wanna ask is it normal, because I don’t find anyone explaining this and I’m just curious.

I combine mountain biking and weight lifting, training 5 to 6 days a week but even this much doesn’t make op for poor nutrition. Imagine if you would eat poorly and processed food and a lot of it without exercise. There are not many very fat people in my country but about half is a little to fat.

Its not calories in and out….its simply too many carbs/sugar in your diet. High carbs/sugar release too much insulin from your pancreas, and high insulin stops fat burning in real time. With too many carbs/sugars in your body, the body doesn’t know what do with it, so it puts the sugars/glucose back through your liver where it is converted in visceral fat, and you end up wearing the fat. Lower your carbs/sugar, increase your healthy fats and watch the pounds fly off. Fat doesn’t make you fat, its the carbs/sugar!
