I’d rather just wear my Salomon Snowcross winter running shoes!
what??? You are NOT responsible for my safety? how dare you put a video and NOT take full responsibility for MY safety! Unbelievable.
(thank you for the video 😉 )
kudos to you both for trying something new and to your sense of adventure and enjoying our hearty Canadian winter!!
Not specifically mentioned, but perhaps implied, bring a Katie with you.
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Other terms and restrictions apply.
I don’t understand using showshoes in powdery snow. It ends up collecting on top of my shoe so now I’m lifting that additional weight. I also don’t walk on top of the snow. I sink right down. It’s like there’s no point to using them in powder.
Outstanding performance on the high country trails of Yosemite National Park. => t.co/3pni5adKE1 Deep snow or icy crusted snow made no difference in performance.
This helped a lot thank you I’m going snowshoeing on February 12 2014
Excellent video. Clear information, well-presented, and no extraneous B.S. Thank you!
Q. I always hear you have to pretty much walk bow legged to walk in snowshoes.. But you walked almost normally…
Easy to get in and out of these. => ur2.pl/1122 Lightweight, look good and pretty comfortable.
Useful video IF you’ve watched more basic instructions first. I’d call this advanced basic. Not a very beginner’s guide.
Looks like there’s a lot more to it than I would have thought.
looks like BC. namely central interior…an hour or so outside of prince george… wanna say purden.
Thanks for the straight forward video, I live in Yellowknife and I’m 45 and want to get a little more into physical activities. I’ve already started a healthier living I quit smoking 4 months ago. And I intermittent fast. I’ve lost 45 pounds in the last year, and I’m at my goal weight of 200 lbs. I seen a pair of snow shoes and the range limit says 200-250 will they work. Thanks in advance
Really good video. Thumbs up. You seemed dressed a little light, how warm was it that day? o.o
Also, with potential falls, widowmakers, etc., does anyone recommend showshoeing with a helmet on? Seems like it could save a life, particularly on those steep slopes, falling onto hard ice as opposed to soft snow, rocks just beneath the snow, or if there was falling ice or branches from tree limbs loaded with snow.
That was so much fun, big smile on my face. Looking forward to more.
Marvellous ⛄️ snowman ☃️
Till. Next time ❄️ B
Hey guys I like seeing your snowshoeing but you should have gotten the hiking poles as wellwonderful job with the video today I liked how you showed snowshoeing can you put up the models that you unlocking your gear page on a gear Page you’re loyal subscriber John chalker Waterbury CT USA
Snowbomb? That is a thing I’ve never heard of but makes shocking sense… Nice video!
“because your in avalanche territory”
wat? snowshoeing is not specifically done in mountains… even less on slopes without trees.
Seeing the Faber name, one I know as one of the few remaining and better makers of traditional wood framed, web filled shoes, I expected to see something about which style traditional shoe to use in what terrain/conditions. Instead you do some marketing for those trendy, pitifully undersized plastic things. No wonder you were sinking so far in that powder.
How do you keep from sliding downhill? I found myself slipping every step and ended up side stepping down each hill when others went down easily.
Going snowshoeing for the first time today, thanks for the tips! Excited to try it!
Great video Luke and Alysha. Welcome to the wonderful world of snowshoeing. Envious though of all the amazing terrain you get to experience in BC. Keep on having fun in all that you do.
And always remember to stay off cross country trails and double tracks on shared trails, you are destroying the trails for the rest of us who ski.
What do you both do for a living to pay for all your traveling?
But what do I do if the long thingy gets caught in the loopy doodad, thus tangling up the whole thingamabob?
I feel like REI has been reading my mind on what my next trip is. Or it’s just the time of year lol
Great infoam looking to get into the sport for next season. Been hearing about Faber for sometime; I look forward to buying my first pair from you.
“in 2019, this list helped me decide for the best snowshoes scafe.shop/ttbss2019?9Z hope it helps you out too!”
that was great.. yes share it again! what about Manning Park?
TSL is for me the best brand of snowshoes, they don’t rip your trousers like the MSR do
As I’ve mentioned before, I was born and raised in Winnipeg while Yoly was born in Mexico City and I’ve been trying to explain to her for over 30 years why I never get cold. I showed her your video and now she understands why (no gloves):-) My mom used to belong to a snow shoe club back in the 1950s when I was a kid and I remember her snow shoes looked like gangly tennis rackets:-)
First off good quality properly fitted snowshoes DONT sink that deep….and they dont have ratcheting bindings to help you drown if you fall through the ice!
Great day! Looking forward to the next one about the motor home. Looking at an Adventurer here ourselves but are shying away from the fact that you can only buy them used, so looking forward to the review. Please mention the quality if you can and any of the issues you ran into. Thanks!!
I snow ski and water ski, but never tried snow shoes. I guess I always considered it a necessity rather than a sport. Next you need to ski cross county. Its not difficult per se but you will get a vigorous work out for sure.
Make sure you have tire chains if you’re going to RV on your back roads. I hate to think I have to come there to dig you out…Stay safe…Regards RAZ
cool video. I was snow shoeing at the top of a mountain the other day. There was a narrow packed trail, but off to the side it was very deep powder, and I realized I haven’t seen any instructional videos on extracting myself from a fall in that sort of situation. Do you have any tips in addition to using the poles?
HAHAHAHA Alysha stop whining you started the snow ball fight lol
This was the best intro. Informative, straightforward, well-illustrated. I appreciate you uploading.
I just bought a brand new pair of snow shoes that are made by Faber and I can’t wait to get out on them in Jasper Alberta Canada and video was helpful
That looked like a fun day. Snowshoes have sure changed over the years! The ones you have look like they work well. Cute snowman! ☃️
Hello Guys! Its great to see you again. Its nice to play in the snow. I just wished it wasnt so cold:)
