You will need a barbell or substitute two hand weights for this exercise.Strengths:The push press is a closed-kinetic-chain exercise, meaning the legs remain on the floor (a fixed surface). The motion calls on multiple muscle groups, from your legs to your shoulders to your arms, to work synergistically, introducing functional components to what otherwise may be a very bodybuilding-centric workout routine.This shoulder workout routine takes that training philosophy one step further for hardcore gains.

This was a lifesaver for me! My PT directed me through around 5 exercises….which I almost forgot immediently!! She then gave me a running low on ink black and white handout with the exercises barely typed out with sketch like people trying to demonstrate. Needless to say I was lost! LOL! Dr says she’s not sure if I have a torn rotator cuff without an MRI and just have me anti inflammatory 5 months ago. I can’t afford MRI. Thinking about trying a chiropractor. When I have the money that is… problem is I train and compete in Jiu Jitsu and have a tournament next month. So hopefully doing these every other day will help me

I seen n practice yours this video.. you don’t belief my 100 percent reliefed.. Pain gone and my left upper frozen soulder is totally free.. I can’t tell you how much your videos have been a lifesaver for me during this horrible pandemic which has closed all private and public gyms. I have worked so hard for twenty years to get my body where it is, and it is extremely challenging for me because I have had scoliosis since a child. My muscles have a hard time remembering and recruiting the necessary fibers to support normal progression with exercise especially bodybuilding. I have to treat each limb like it does not have an equivalent because if I use my own brain to work my body the way it perceives is even or straight, I develop crookedly and asymmetrical all over. I can tell that you have a lot of experience in training and that is why I appreciate these videos so much now that they are free because I know that videos of this quality will eventually only be accessible through paid subscription. Your videos are a true gift.

I started this and I have only done it twice now. And it had help as to the fact I injured myself doing a contemporary dance routine. However, its been like four or five days. Hey Josh, you’ve an amazing collection of videos. I was just wondering what seven videos would be a perfect daily routine to completly opening my body. I definitly wanna put a lot of focus on the shoulders. I wanna get into bodyweight training and lifting even more then im already doing but I’ve got two bad shoulders. The tendons seem to click into the joint and give a sharp pain when I try to raise anything.
I used to do these exact exercises for my shoulder when I went to physical therapy. Like someone else said try to do this three times a week depending on condition, and for sets and reps. I would do 2-3 sets of 6-8 reps depending on your condition, this is what worked for me when I was doing these exercises. Not a doctor but if you feel like more reps and sets are needed add enough to where you feel comfortable doing those sets and rep ranges
Slim needs a wider grip on those presses, losing leverage with a narrower grip.
Just want to start off by saying that I love your videos and your exercises have helped me build strength and mobility! One problem area that still persists is a tightness in the side of my side, down to the shoulder lateral shoulder head. Could you do a video on how to release tight traps? Sitting at a desk has gotten my traps extremely tight. Love the videos man!

I’ve done 3 years of shoulder strengthening exercises, and routinely. The muscle and tendons are as strong as they’re ever going to get, inside and out. I had arth labels surgery and the point where the pain is centered, the labrum, is in constant and chronic pain. Went back to the orthopedic dr, and to two more for second and third opinions with a new mri, and they said that there was nothing more that I could do if I did the rehab, WHICH I DID! And still do regularly. Now the problem is severe bursitis surrounding the scapula that cracks and grinds like nothing you could imagine, and of course the labrum feels like a fresh gunshot would no matter what I do. Yeah, it’s pretty darn frustrating man…

Just a note for this type of elastic bands. It is really thin and thus very easy to break. I was doing an exercise to improve my recurringly dislocated shoulder, the band broke and I had a dislocation again… So please prefer some thicker band.

Would you say that this is the shoulder equivalent to your “bulletproof knees” routine? I have shoulder pain at times, and i feel like i need to do something to overcome that.
I got supraspinatus tendinitis bicep tendonitis 2 month ago. Now my situation is better. The pain area is far less than before. My pain area is just on the top of tendon of supraspinatus & bicep now.
Normally should be light weight training for supraspinatus and bicep until all pain go away?
tried the lateral raises without any weight and my muscles got fatigue after 7 reps

I like to do them faster sometimes maybe for a set, or 2. Maybe half reps but weights dropping fast and ascending faster for like 9 reps. That gets my shoulders going everytime. I slow it down because I know it isn’t safe to do every set like that because as lifters know shoulders are a more delicate area, but the weights dropping fast and thrusting up faster really puts it in you. You should all try it.
I couldn’t hold the hollow body hold for more than 3 seconds the first time! Now I can hold it between 10-15 seconds! I followed your advice on your abs video to do it 3-4 times a week….and I feel great! Thanks again. Your videos are very easy to follow along with.
Emphasize the activation of the SA and the functional movement of the scapula along the rib cage. You can visibly see in some movements that your mid/low trap fibers arent activating and are being pushed instead due to poor SA activation, your upper fibers in your traps, levator, and rhomboids look like they are doing the movement. SA/whole trap synergy is critical to a stable scapula. Still good content tho

I had shoulder tendonitis(left), use to pain when raising hand at an arc angle. Tried electric simulation and ultrasound.. reduced my pain to almost 80%.. but its not completely cured, still feel bit inflammation and slight pain at an angle. Do u recommend using resistant bands exercises?

But I used my mobile phone holding with right hand continuously for hours almost a month while sleeping on my back. now because of less movement I got my clavicle bone very sensitive, so that if I touch my bone I have pain over there. I can do everything with my right hand but with pain over weak clavicle.

It is hard to determine the right position in the first exercise. Is it directly in front of his left hand? Or is it at an angle? Wish there was another shot of this or more info about how to position yourself relative to where it is tied. OH just realized that was not supposed to be one of the exercises. I’m so stupid and I hate myself right now

Love this one HASfit! My doctor gave me a print out of exercises and they are all here in this video plus more. My shoulder feels much better today, but yesterday evening it got a little worse. So I pulled out the ice pack, 20 mins on, 10 mins rest and then heat and am much better today. This is exactly what I needed. I workout much better to you guys then to a bunch of papers, lol. I had telescopic surgery in 2006.. physical Terapy at the surgeon office , moved last year to different locations, do to pandemic + surgery in December 2019, recovery then lock down, start Terapy in new locations where every time I have to remind to Terrapy person.., we are building strength to my left shoulder rotation cuff.. it’s hearts after each secion.., why there are not professional can do this! I stop with my insurance to this b place… just
I get pain/discomfort during external rotation…any thoughts
Okay…so…Im 16 and I got into training like 5 or 4 years ago. And recently I got gymnastics rings and I do waightet dips on them. So I went from 10 kg to 20 and for a while there were no problems. But now I feel a slight discomfort (nothing that effects my life or workout) should I be doing these exercises or can I just do my regular workout but without the weights? (By the way I don’t feel any discomfort when I do my exercises without the weights)

what do you think, are these exercises enough as a shoulder excersise routine (to keep your shoulders strong and healthy), or these are just for a rehab period? Should we later introduce some “harder” excersises (with dumbel, barbel, etc)? I love to play football, and to keep my body strong and healty, avoiding the injuries as much as I can.

Its called impingment/bursa/burista joints
Do those 3 exercises, use heat packs twice a day and u will feel the difference in lesser than 2 weeks, avoid weight lifting 3 weeks then go hit the gym start of very light weights to strengthen the muscles. And injection is a an option but it takes same amount of times to full recover from pain. Good luck everyone
Are these good for frozen shoulder because that’s what I currently have and I’m in PTand the excercises I don’t know think they are working with this shoulder pulley they gave me to use at home. I can’t raise my arm all the way up or behind me and it’s painful. Already had a cortisone shot but I feel pain all the down the arm. Pt thinks I could’ve had a tear that heald and is now a frozen shoulder. I’ve had it for months.

I’ve heard PPK Circles more in the last few Eddie videos than I have in years!
I successfully treated a frozen shoulder using resistance band exercises like these. This most important thing is, I think, to count two seconds as you pull in (or push out or whatever), hold at maximum resistance for another 2 seconds, and then count another 2 seconds as you release slowly. It’s not just the force through the action, but how long you hold it for, and how you maintain stability. I did 3 sets of 12 reps of each of these, being very careful with my posture at all times. I did them daily for about 3 months as well as regular swimming. Ratshit shoulder totally fixed. (oh, and don’t forget to do the other as well).

I enjoy these exercises because I make some strange faces and he is like: SMILE! I start doing the exercises too fast and slopy and he is like: CONTROL THE WEIGHT. I lose my posture and he is like: KEEP THE CURVE! Almost like he can see me. He either has some super powers or has plenty of experience so he can predict the points when and where we will start losing it…
The fucker does overhead press for reps with as much weight as I do my max deadlift….
I was fearful before going to gym and injuringy shoulder, being really cautious. But, while bench pressing I felt some pain on rotator cuff (right shoulder) and the pain just won’t go.

Isn’t the goal of scaption to depress the scapula? On the row, when the elbows are back like you demonstrate, aren’t the shoulder blades “mechanically” retracted. They’re pushed into adduction by the humerus?
Drank 2 litres or cranberry juice. Got not 1 but 3 clean reps with 50kg dumbells on flat bench press. Been working towards 1 rep for like 4 months. Who knew all I needed was cranberry juice cheers Eddie
Supraspinatus. This holds your humerus in place and keeps your upper arm stable….
Infraspinatus. This is the main muscle that lets you rotate and extend your shoulder.
Teres Minor. This is the smallest rotator cuff muscle….
Subscapularis.

Hey Eddie, I believe I heard you say once that you tore your labrum in the past. Could you speak to how you got back enough stability to train heavy overhead lifts? I tore mine 10 years ago and have avoided overhead barbell stuff ever since.

I am very much upset with my left shoulder and neck pain. I have a habit of sleeping on left side only. Now it started hurting me. I tried your stretches and exercise routine, and really I feel relaxed. I am going to do it for some more days, I hope it will help me to get relief. I had an accident on September 6th 2018. I had my right shoulder dislocation and proximal humerus fracture. Surgery done with plate and screws fixed. Doc I want to ask you, whatever exercises you have suggested, can I do it for my shoulder?

Hi Josh from France. I’m following almost daily your advice since 2 months, i’m on may way to my shoulder blades and this is not easy to feel and free this area. Because of 20 years of tennis i have a big laxity difference between the right side and the left side. On my right i’m starting to play with my shoulder blade, i can feel it and move it up and down. On the contrary on my left i can feel the stiffness of my joints and ligaments. I guess there’s nothing else to do but work and work again to hope, one day, rebalance my upper body:(
