Having two braids may remind you of your school days, but it is probably the single most practical hairstyle for yoga. It keeps your hair off your face and neck and allows you to stand on your head and lie on your back without having to redo your hair afterward.A halo braid is the ideal updo for a full-on yoga practice, as it frees up the back of your head for lying down, and your crown for those intermediate headstands.
Sweat from a hot Bikram session can also encourage sexy beach waves after you unfurl the weave. A simple low bun keeps the hair from your face while you go through your flow.Yoga is the practice of intention. That doesn’t necessarily mean that your intention has to be enlightenment or world peace (although excellent choices); your intention—or rather your reason for doing yoga—can be anything you’d like to cultivate. Whether that’s to feel better, develop more compassion, gain strength, lose weight, become more mindful, manage stress, relieve pain.
This is a beneficial yoga asana for hair growth, because in order to perform this asana you need to touch your crown to the ground, which helps the blood to flow to the head. Proper blood circulation to the scalp means healthy and strong hair. Kneel down on the floor with your hips resting on your heels. In addition, if your practice involves a lot of kneeling down, it is best to choose a yoga mat that will provide comfort during such poses.
Additional Tips. When buying a yoga mat, the thickness is not the only feature that you need to consider. You must also consider other factors to ensure your.Likewise, finish your practice quietly by doing a few easy supine poses—either Supta Padangusthasana (Reclining Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose) or a simple reclining twist (both neutralize the spine), or a more restorative pose like Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-Wall Pose)—and then go into Savasana (Corpse Pose), lying on your back with your legs relaxed, your eyes closed, and your palms.

Could you give some hair styles for Ariel!
Upside downproof
I am a gymnast i did the gymnastics test the “baddie” look was the only one that can really work..
1:15 I’m so sorry Jennifer…but I don’t mean to be or sound disrespectful to you but you are gorgeous and seeing you do that is sexy and hot!! Have a great day!!
The hairstyles look very cute but I am not sure about “perfect for yoga”… They don’t seem too Shavasana friendly
These hairstyles are so cuteI have a pixie and cant do them right now,but you’re Making me wish I had long hair
A three strand braid is not a French braid and a Dutch braid is not opposite of 3 strand braid
Those lunges tho! I’m glad I stumbled onto this class. It makes other Yin classes feel fast paced. I also enjoyed the reset after each pose. I look forward to doing more of your classes in the future
” it’s really cute and easy, it also passes the head shake test.”
HAHAHA like “the head shake test” will be enough for being thrown on the ground multiple times.Other than the fact that I find that hilarious, those are nice hairstyles
Love them and sooo wish I could learn to French braid my own hair!!! ♀️
I hope this video helped you in understanding how to move forward and advance your yoga practice safely and effectively! Don’t forget to download my free guide on How to Change Your Life With Yoga: http://bit.ly/ChangeYourLifeYoga
I do yoga through the gym and I’m just not moving forward. I try to modify a pose for my level and the teacher just gives you a dirty or makes the ego commitment in class ♀️ Your not trying to show off your just trying to get the best out of this class because you paid for it. I always stand at the back behind the beginners so I don’t effect another person’s response to the class. Why are some teachers like this??
I use props to modify any pose I have to modify for safety. I have tight hamstrings and short arms, so I have to do this in order to get into a pose the right way. And I have said this to you before, Christina: when I followed others on YouTube in the beginning of my yoga practice, my wrists would get sore and tender from rushing through their way too fast chaturangas. This has never happened again since following you. Seriously. And I did not like my first yin yoga YT class from someone else. It was very uncomfortable and I was not ready 8 months ago. But with consistent and almost daily practice with your routines, I adore yin yoga now. And I feel like I’m now ready to try the more advanced poses, and I appreciate everything you put out every week on YT. Oh, and your canine baby is adorable!! Have a great weekend!
Not sure how lazy the lazy French braid is when you have to use more efforts to remember when you take in another strand of hair, compared to a regular no brain needed braid
I love this video. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge here.
Yogi is soooo cute you always seem to know exactly what I need in a video because this is exactly how I feel in my practice just now. I do yoga with Tim videos and they are harder but I modify, when I read the comments very few people seem happy and it’s like, modify if you find it to hard or speed up if you find it to easy. Like you he’s an excellent teacher who takes a lot of time explaining how and what muscles to engage and that’s helped me loads in my practice. There is so many good teachers on YouTube, I follow about 6 including yourself and I think you need that variety to learn different aspects of yoga from different teachers. My yoga teachers website is called explore yoga and she really encourages us to go to other classes or check out teachers on YouTube and through their websites. Thanks Christina, brilliant advice and tips, loving that hair do on you
I’ve tried all of them and im a runner hair still gets crazy
Those lunges though <3 Glad you set the timer on 2 mnts ;-)
Namaste
I can make this hairstyles or can go to gym….due to lake of time only one thing can be done,,
Oh doing these hair style is so difficult better than these we can cut our hair
Double french braids is so beautiful and perfect for dance classes, yoga etc….
Those lunges though ! Great class tonight, this also needs to go on my weekly schedule of classes for the week.
I look glam at the gym I copy girl since she is looking amazing Jennifer Nicole lee
i rly dont see much difference between the dutch and french braids
Your really pretty and all but some of these are so fancy I would just chuck my hair in a ponytail
I liked the french braid into a high ponytail without the bun part.
Will definitely try some of these out:) xxxx thank you for uploading this.. should help with my hair af dance you do not want to see that
This is no since, duched bun??! CMON WHOS GONNA NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE?? Who will even care♀️
A Dutch braid is not that. A Dutch braid is when you braid under in the hair.
It took me around 30 days to master pigeon from not doing any exercise at all. So i think it’s beginner personally as there are 10 modification poses you can do to make it easier like stacking ur hands. Bare in mind i couldn’t do a flat back pose when i started on day 1.
Those lunges though. Really liked the class. Lovely to have a teacher that does not chat incessantly.
Does anyone else have the problem with braids and buns where random pieces of hair will stick out
Those lunges tho!!! I’m struggling with putting pressure on my right knee when my foot is flat on the floor. Should I gently press through? Go up on my toes? I already put a blanket under my knee.
Ehh, not leaving any impressed feelings. Basicly showed you how to wear a braid on different locations on your head.
Lmfao that’s not a French braid. Neither is that a Dutch braid. Wtf is this?
Thanx because tomorrow is my taekwondo practice
You are so amazing!!! Absolutely inspirational, thank you for providing free and quality videos like this. <3
So cute! Love the buns and the last look. Thanks for the tips on reviving the hair, mine usually just ends up in a gross looking messy bun. Also could you do some hairstyles for longer hair!!
You literally solved my “can’t put my hair in a proper bun” conundrum within the first 15 seconds of this video. Subscribed
I might try the little buns. Do you have some styles for very long hair, as in lower back almost to the bum type of long?
is a head shake really an equivalent to a whole ass workout??
Those lunges tho! Even though I am finally doing this pose nearly a year later, you originally posted it on my birthday it’s like you knew exactly what areas I struggle with! Thank you for the beautiful birthday present, Melissa and Tim! <3 Namaste
The first one is called the one minute top knot but right after that she said “this literally takes two minutes” what lol?
Those lunges though! -Thanks, Mellisa! I didn’t visit the bathroom during the class, but definitely after, I also felt hungry after… I’ve seen Michelle Goldstein’s content, she’s definitely serious about power yoga!
The only problem is that she doesn’t actually play a sport so most of these would fall out like if you agree
Those lunges, though!!! Loved this practice. Thank you so much!
I have been love with this! Thanks for such a good ideas! Had hard times, when having yoga or workout. Dx Appreciate! And absolutely have watched your channel! I am satisfied with it! (lul xD)
Very beautiful and easy hairstyles:) However, the ‘inverted french braid’ is just called a dutch braid!:)
Hey I came to this video from the comment you left on kino yoga. I really enjoyed this video. You’re pretty to watch and explain the steps really well! The styles look so cute. Felt like I was in a hair rut and can’t wait to try these! Thanks
Those lunges tho! Seriously, I’m 65 and they weren’t that bad. However, I’ve been working out since I was 23 doing high-impact aerobics to low-impact aerobics, walking, and now walking in place and yoga. Great class. I miss the background music when you do “live” classes though. Thanks Melissa! Blessings!
Those lunges tho!!! But what an awesome session….thank you Melissa….I have been keen to practice more Yin Yoga and I absolutely loved this!! It has been awhile since I have visited a Yoga w Melissa video….but I am soooo glad I did ❤️❤️❤️
Those lunges though!!! Thank you for this class, it felt soooo good in my hips!
Those lunges though!!!! OOh lala hahahha:-) Thank you! Nice one!!
I love how in the beginning you separated Dance and Sports
those lunges tho….it was great enjoyed your session very much. Namaste
Now I only need a girlfriend to braid my hair:) Nice to see Lauren <3
I liked your video! I think these hairstyles can also be useful not only for yoga, but also for other fitness activities, like running and so on!
Isnt the point of yoga to rid oneself of the ego and the I and focus on being one with the infinite?
She does realize that the regular and Dutch braid are the exact same thing in this video the only way that they will look different is if she doesn’t do the Dutch braid when her hair is in a ponytail
Those Lunges Tho! Amazing class Melissa! My butt feels stronger already!
I have a question, can you wear glasses to yoga class? Because if I don’t wear them I can’t see the distance.
Those lunges though!!!! Thank you for all the explanations. Everything makes so much sense! I love Yin yoga!
Thank you, Melissa. Your yin yoga classes are wonderful. You are an amazing yoga teacher. Those lunges though:-)
Absolutely wonderful! Those lunges though…
I really appreciate your classes, and this is the one I needed to help me with my pain problem in the Iliac Psoas. I really enjoy the focus on the concentration, breathing, resolution and consciousness of your body while you do these practices. I’ll keep doing these every day.
Greetings from Medellin, Colombia.
Those lunges, though! Love, love these intermediate yin classes! Thank you so much!
This was a perfect practice to begin my 30 days of forward folds practice. Namaste
Those lunges tho! Seriously, though, this was the perfect class for me, today. My hips are so, so very tight. The lunges were challenging, for sure, but I actually had more trouble with the forward folds. My right knee has a tendency to feel like it’s going to hyperextend when it’s out straight like that. I struggled with how to address that. Should I support it from underneath a bit, or not bend forward as far? I was hardly able to bend forward as it was. How do I prevent over stretching that ligament behind the knee without negating the benefit of the pose? Thank you for a wonderful class, as always.
those lunges though!!!! I didn’t find the lounges uncomfortable even though my hip flexes are my sore point; I think because it was slow and we used the props to support our bodies so we could soften makes all the difference for me. Thank you for your considered practice Melissa as always; Namaste xo I haven’t needed to go to the physio since I started doing your classes:)
These lounges though! Had an anger bubbling up during the second dragon pose. Luckily the third dragon pose calmed me down to a peace. Any feedback thoughts on this? Thank you for your work and regards from Europe.
Those lunges, though! Thank you so much for showing me the mudra. Love being able to join in now!
Those lunges though! Love what they do to relax my hips. However, I am not feeling the “rebound” you speak of
I really liked how this class was more constant yoga, as opposed to most of your classes that are a pose, then teaching, then a pose. I do like the non-yin classes as well, the teachings are one of the reasons I like your classes so much! But this class I felt like it was mostly yoga, which was really nice. And them lunges tho!!
Those lunges! Actually, the dragon poses are easier for me than the forward folds. And the forward folds were easier today after doing the dragons.
My favourite hairstyle is the frence and dutch one wonderful
Those lunges tho!! ha ha thank you for this amazing class Melissa.
Those lunges though… thank you for explaining the feelings I experience during lunges… unease, disquiet, anxiety, panic, dread… it’s often a fight with myself to last the distance… but i did!
Those lunges though! This class was relaxing for me. I was so relaxed, I got startled when You spoke to bring us out of savasana. Wonderful class!
I’ve been doing ponytail but in the middle of the workout it gets loose
Those lunges though! Whew, this was a good and challenging class. Thank you so much.
Those lounges though! In dragon flying low, my knee splayed out quite a bit, would it be recommended that one places the foot a bit wider than hip distance or not? I had to substitute the last forward fold by legs up the wall though. Namasté
Those lunges though! my hips feel great Low flying dragon worked good for me with my bolster to rest on. Thank you:D
I should just wear a swim cap at the gym NOTHING stays in place otherwise
oh honey, your one minute top knot is gon’ fall out in a minute too
Lower back been would be more than great to be part of and will try to actively be involved in yin yoga.
