Weight vests can increase the resistance during sprint drills as well. As long as form and speed are maintained, most athletes can see good results using a well-fitting vest. Another option is to wear the weight vest while stair or hill running, or while practicing jump and land drills. Speed athletes will usually start with no more than five to eight pounds of weight.
SMALL LOOP BAND SUPINE RUNS. Lie on your back with your knees over your hips and shins parallel to the floor. With your feet flexed, and a small resistance band looped around your feet, push one foot forward and straighten your leg right above the floor, then alternate.
Basic Sprint Workout for Speed. Warm up: Start with 5-10 minutes of light jogging, or about 20% of your maximum speed. 1.Sprint: Sprint for 30 seconds at 60% of your maximum effort. 2.Recovery: Jog at 20-30% of your max effort for 1-2 minutes.
3.Sprint: Sprint for 30 seconds at 70% of your maximum.Resisted speed training operates on the principle that when we work against a moderate amount of resistance, our muscles become stronger and are able to produce greater amounts of force, which in.Perform 5 to 10 minutes of dynamic drills. Run 8 x 400 meters (about 1/4 mile) with 2 minutes rest in between each interval.
Finish with a 1to 2.To perform this drill, start a high-knee “sprint” motion in place at about 80 percent of your max speed (you should be pumping your arms at about 80 percent of your sprint pace as well).The Prowler push is all about power, and an increase in power output, especially against resistance, will increase your speed.

What do athletes do when they have muscular pains in their body.
I thought plyometrics require eccentric contraction immediately followed by concentric contraction.
So you’d start with the foot on the ground, let the band pull it up, and immediately stamp the foot back down.

I have an early stage of stress fracture in my foot so I must not put any weight on that foot for a few weeks. Wow I feel like this what I have been missing the whole time. I am strong and well conditioned but I can’t get past 53 flat on the 400. This will fix my form because I feel like my legs are a little wild in the back and my starts are slow as crap for how strong I am. Thanks for this video. I ran 53.04 for the first meet yesterday, after a sometime I will come back and say what my final PR is by the end of the season. Going for that sub 50!!!
Sprinting with these bands is quite handy I assume. Core workout is definitely important to improve your sprinting. Anyways, these bands are something I will definitely give a try.

Thanks again for your videos. I have a question regarding a topic that I am not sure whether you have covered. Namely, I wonder what are your insights about cadence & stride length. I think this is very interesting because you can have 2 athletes running the same times, though, one might have a very high stride frequency and short stride lenght whereas the other might have the opposite qualities. Accordingly, even though they run the same times they need different trainings (or not?).
So long story short: what is your opinion on this topic? Thanks in advance!

I play basketball. Any suggestions on how to train, when to train and what to train etc?
I play badminton where there are lots of lunges, so could you replace the first 2 exercises with lunges instead of what you did?

Thanks for this strengthening exercise. I used to do CrossFit…which made me stronger in all my sports (biking, swimming, track days on the motorcycle, etc.) I need to get back into it.
